Amalias Family Restaurant Review

If you re from out of town and looking for a place to go, look no further! You ve found your place!! This restaurant is a place you don t want to pass up. The girls are amazing conversationalists, great food recommendations, fast service, and the food is SO good! They have so many good options on the menu that we ll have to come back numerous times to be able to try everything that we want to. The bakery items are as delicious as they look so take some to go!

Have always loved their breakfast here. Great prices too. Stay away from their bakery display- it s dangerous! :)

Potatoes are greasy. There is a fine line between getting food out in a timely manner and getting food that has been made prior and kept warm. That is becoming a blurry area. The host that seats people is at times rude and ill mannered. He needs to focus on who he is seating instead of talking to everyone around him.

I have always liked their chicken dumpling soup. Great stuff! I either get that with bread or any of their breakfast items. Can't go wrong!

Always good! Have had many different dishes here and they have always been hot, fast and delicious! Absolutely love their fish! I've eaten in and had take-out... never been disappointed. They seem to always be busy during the day and at night, but they have lots of tables and booths and always attend to us fast. Huge variety, almost too much variety as it takes awhile to decide once you see everything they offer. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, fabulous homemade deserts, everything is awesome!

Absolutely love this family restaurant. The service is always amazing (especially by Amalia). Food is delicious and very reasonable. Will continue to come for years to come. Definitely recommend to everyone I know.

I am 10 years old it has been my favorite place sense I learn to appreciate good tasting my homemade meals I love that they have Ribeyes for little kids my favorite meal is prime rib steak with cut up watermelon don't forget to try the homemade cakes for desert

Loved the energy and positivity in this place. They have a wide range of different foods and desserts. The food was amazing, highly recommend visiting this place, and I can t wait to go back myself!

Picked up breakfast for 3 adults and 1 kid s meal, was charged $53. Quickly questioned price at checkout and was assured it was correct. Got home and did the math, should have cost around $36 plus tax. Called the restaurant and was placed on hold, could hear the person who answered the phone say she s whining about being overcharged . Was told they add an extra $1 for every order because of what s going on right now and still overcharged by $5, even with their extra add on s. Food was greasy and overpriced for the quality. There are many other establishments in Oconomowoc to support who would be respectful and actually appreciate the business. Will not be going back.

This restaurant is so good. I really think that if you want to do something special, you should go to this restaurant. I really like the Fun Cakes, which were four small pancakes with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. Don't know what happened to this place. I used to stop here every Sunday. All the employees were friendly and helping each other. Last few times I stopped there they were rude to each other and customers. I'm done with it.

Great service and great food!! We had the Eggs Benedict, a Greek Skillet and Texas French Toast. All were very tasty and our food was served very quickly. I anticipate this will become one of our favorite places to eat!

The most tasteless omelette I have ever come across!! The supposed chorizo it s more lo chili dog.....

Nothing special. Service was okay, food was very bland, and my son's hamburger was very undercooked.

Amalia's serves standard American fare. Good breakfast and lunch. Don't know about their dinners. Haven't been there for dinner.

I had French Dip. The roll it was served on was great. The beef seemed to be prepackaged but good, but the au jus was very salty. Close to inedible.

The service was good however, I was seated near the counter and the wait staff gabbed the entire time. I suggest you ask for a table away from the counter if you're looking for some peace and quiet.

Amalia's claim to fame is they have an in-house bakery. There's some mighty tasty stuff be it cake, pies, donuts or other items.

I would definitely give Amalia's a try. Just don't expect anything special off their menu.

Food and service are good, just be careful if you are concerned about good COVID practices as they are not good at adhering with a tightly packed restaurant and poor mask coverage on the wait staff. It s for sure a hot spot risk; just be careful.

Great cozy restaurant with a big menu and awsome bakery. I must say they have really good liver and onions(add bacon). It's not often I find a restaurant that can make it right(i.e. It tastes good and has good texture to me). All in all I'm happy this place is down the road from me

Outstanding!! Stopped here for breakfast from out of state and was so impressed! We did a lot of experimenting with restaurants in the area and this one topped all others. The waitress was super friendly, food was to die for, it came out within 10 minutes of ordering, and the prices were very reasonable. We will be back when we visit Oconomowoc, WI again!!

I wish I took pictures, the food was delicious, server have good service and recommendations for lunch. I will definitely be returning here next time I am in the area

After a wonderful time touring downtown Oconomowoc, I was treated to an honest-to-goodness homemade fish fry at Amalia's. Even the butter is farm fresh. The meal was delicious and came with salad and dessert.

Terrific place to go for breakfast on a Saturday morning! Try the steak and eggs or the Cinnabun French toast. Great service, good, atmosphere. Visit if you're in town!

Okay so where to begin???

The waitresses name was Cory she was very, very rude!!!

First of all I walked in, was seated and they gave the two of us 1 menu to share, then was asked if we are too good to share a menu (in a very rude tone) then I was asked what I would like to drink and as a normal response I asked what they had to offer... the waitress looked at me with a very disgusted face and asked me in a very rude tone do you really want me to name off everything we have? I replied no what soda do you have? She replied oh, we have coke! (Again very rude) we the ordered our food after thinking about just walking out... we got our food and it was not good at all definitely don t recommend eating there it was tasteless and barely editable. The food seemed to be days old reheated multiple times and very mushy!!!

Last Thursday my daughter & I came for a quick breakfast before I took her to school. We were greeted properly when we arrived. We picked our booth & the waitress gave us 2 small cups of water. These cups had the appearance of being dirty, but after a closer look I realized they were made that way. Odd to have cups that look like they have residue on them. I did not see turkey meat on the menu so I asked if they had any just to be sure. The server apologized & said they did not have turkey meat. I informed her that I asked because I do not eat pork. I then ordered a French vanilla cappuccino and again she apologized and said she realized it was on the menu, but they discontinued it a while ago. Hmmmm ok perhaps it should be removed or covered up. So my daughter & I placed our orders. The waitress comes back to inform me they are out of bananas so I wouldn't be able to get the Strawberry & Banana stuffed French toast so I needed to pick something else. I take another look at the menu & the waitress can tell at this point I'm extremely frustrated so she recommends I order the triple berry French toast. Since I'm in a rush I say ok fine. The waitress returns with our food, but jokingly says she needs to send the cook to the store because they were out of blueberries. So hmmmmm given the fact that blueberries were an ingredient for what I ordered how was she able to give me my order? Oh she made an executive decision that it didn't matter to me if blueberries weren't included in my triple berry french toast & that the strawberries & raspberries were good enough. Not to mention the tiny pieces of ham I found inside my french toast & the greasy taste they had. Please note pork makes me sick as I am allergic to it so luckily I found those chunks of ham that were included with my triple no excuse me double berry french toast. Let me add that with all their inventory issues & inability to give the customer what they want there was no offer to discount anything at all. I was charged full price for everything in spite of not receiving anything I ordered. This place needs to be ready to fulfill orders from their menu. A very basic restaurant requirement.

BIG thank you to Amelia's who donate a huge Nesco of chicken dumpling soup every Monday to Hope Center in Waukesha for lunch for those less fortunate. St. John's Lutheran church serves and sponsors the lunches. Amelia's gives back to the community. God Bless You for your generosity!

The best service that we've experienced in a long time! Our server was fast, friendly, checked back with us a couple minutes after we received out food. Breakfast was delicious and was delivered to our table within five minutes. Team service was great to see....all staff working together! Nice job!
