I'm never one to refer a tech of any trade, but this is one of those rare exceptions!
Professional, friendly, knowledgeable and clean, Oliver Heating and Cooling will be the ONLY ones that ever touch my AC ever again.
Hats off to all those at Oliver Heating and Cooling for taking the time to go the extra mile making sure I had only exactly what I needed.

Don't use if you don't have too!!!!

We signed a Maintenance Agreement with Shipley Energy, who in tern subcontracts out the work to Oliver in our area. We went from needing a circulator pump that had to be replaced to the tech blowing out our hot water heater and another draining our natural well dry!!!!

We called on Friday morning, received a call at 10:30pm (yes PM) stating they would be out in an hour. We said no way too late, please come on Sunday as we weren't going to be home Saturday. They arrive around 12pm, replaced our pump w/ a bad pump, then put our pump back on. In the meantime, they had to prime the pump and they blew out our hot water tank. Then when they put our original pump back in, they blew it out worse. All seen on camera. It wasn't until 2:30pm that we were notified of the situation. My husband had to go down and help the tech. He then came back upstairs and about 15 minutes later the tech said all is good that he would put in an emergency call first thing Monday morning. After he left, my husband went down and there was water all over the floor. We now have no hot water or heat. He had to shop vac the water every two hours until there was no more.

Monday comes and my husband is on the phone first thing with Oliver. Nothing had been set up and he never received a call back about the water tank. I get home at 2pm and there is a message, left at 11am at home, they never called his cell number which he left with several people in a couple departments. The message stated that they had an estimate for the hot water tank. I call and no one told the gentleman that this was an emergency. Then I receive a call that they are sending out a tech between 3-10pm to replace the circulator pump. A, you can't do that as we have a bad water tank. The girl arguing that the tech said he can do it. it is now 4pm and my husband is speaking with someone about the tank and they want to charge $4,000 to replace a tank that they damaged. Finally settle on $2,800, which I still do not agree with as all was fine before they touched our system. They could not come out that night so now have to wait another night with no heat or hot water.

Tuesday morning a tech arrives. I show him everything. My husband stops home and discusses situation. I go home at lunch and when I leave(1:30pm) he is starting to purge the system. 4pm and my husband gets a phone call that we have no water. Either he ran our well dry or burnt out the pump. In the meantime, another tech arrives to do the PM on the system. As my husband pulls in the driveway (10 minutes later), they are both ready to leave. Really, you run our well dry, can't complete the job and then go to leave. He made them stay and we hook up to a neighbor's water to bring our well back. They finally finish and we had heat at 7pm.

All of this the week of Thanksgiving.

I just don't understand how you let a customer go without heat and hot water for over 2 days. We were of no importance to them. That is not how you treat a customer. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

The technicians who installed the new furnace were...

The technicians who installed the new furnace were excellent. They showed up on time and promptly started to pull out the old furnace. The new furnace went in without a problem. It was obvious to me that they were knowledgable and experienced in their work. When completed they spent time with me to explain everything and address my questions. They were polite and considerate. They cleaned up the work area and hauling the old material away. Best experience I could have hoped.

I just had a ductless mini-split AC system put int...

I just had a ductless mini-split AC system put into my home. I typically obtain 4-5 quotes for any major work done on my house. Schedule-wise, they were one of the first who replied in a timely manner and reached out to us. They happened to be our second quote.

We were very impressed by Dan Lipchock as soon as we met him. He wore a mask and booties and respected our space. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. I would say because of him, I stopped at the second quote and went with your company. The following day, we met Rocco along with Dan to get a more detailed scenario on the installation. These guys made us feel at ease and looked for the best and viable installation while meeting our aesthetic needs (my wife's and mother-in-law's).

The day of install, we met Tom and Steve. These guys must be your cream of the crop. They were real courteous and patient with all my questions, laid tarps everywhere, and cleaned up like they were never there. Their craftsmanship and taking the time to make things look real nice is amazing.

They finished within two days and we are VERY HAPPY with our new system.

Thank you so much for the great service and quality work we received.

Had a new HVAC unit installed. Clint, Matt, and Scott showed up on time and were professional the whole time there were working. They installed the new AC and Heater and showed me how to operate the units. There was no rushing and they answered my questions. I am glad I selected Oliver.

I am very upset about my interactions with Oliver ...

I am very upset about my interactions with Oliver over the past 3 years. I have had a service contract with them over that time period and have had nothing but trouble with my system. Their twice yearly visits are extremely difficult to schedule and never solve my heating and air conditioning problems. Their team members are often late for my appointments and call me repeatedly unable to find parking. I live in the city, many of their customers live in the city. Parking should not be the responsibility of the customer. I have had one driver actually cancel because he could not find parking.

At my last visit, the two technicians were completely unprepared. Over the years I have had 7 visits from Oliver, never from the same person. The last two technicians had no idea what type of system I have. They did not bring the appropriate air filter. When then found this out, they suggested that I "drive to Home Depot and buy one". This is not what I pay over $600/year for in a service contract.

I will be replacing my current HVAC system and will be seeking another company to perform this. I have already had multiple estimates from other companies, all of whom are much lower that my quoted price from Oliver. For example, I was told Oliver's sales department that I would have to rent a crane to place the unit on my roof. I was told that this would cost $4000-5000 for the crane and there was no other options. Neither of these are true. Other contractors have taken measurements and told me that there are units that will fit up the stairwell in my building. Additionally they told me that a crane rental and permit should only run roughly $1500. The rest would be Oliver profiting off of me.

I would never recommend Oliver to anyone. They have only been difficult to work with and have never solved any of my heating/air conditioning problems. This is quite a shame as they came as a high recommendation and but have always failed to deliver while charging much more than their competitors.

Their business model emphasizes professionalism, clear communication, knowledge of the product(s), and integrity. It feels good to rely on a company that you trust.

The salespeople are great. The technicians are really people-friendly and visit your home to do a good job. No hidden costs. All of my questions were answered.

I do wish they would stock and supply the standard 14"x1" filters as part of the service contract.

After years of good service on our heating and air conditioning units from Oliver, we had especially great experiences this winter. Christina and Debbie both went above and beyond to help when our check seemed to "disappear". James, our technician, was pleasant and professional, and he did a particularly thorough job cleaning and inspecting our heaters. He also had answers to several questions I asked. We are grateful to have our maintenance agreements with Oliver!

Oliver has the best technicians . This past week their professionals have serviced my heater , replaced a new part and installed a new water heater. Tran went out of his way to stay till work was completed , very pleased with his performance . Tom installed a new hot water heater and all work was done and completed with cleanliness and speed . I have been a customer for a few years now, almost 10 or more. When ever I have had to schedule a service call, I have felt satisfied with the service person. I like the fact so far, that I have had a person we have gotten to know. So much of the company is known through the repair-person. We feel secure with the service whether winter or summer.

Needed full furnace replacement. Techs Tommy and Ron were Very professional, knowledgeable, experienced and just all around nice guys. They fully explained all the components of the new boiler and piping. Tom Depaul is a competent and trustworthy sales person that provided us a very fair price when our furnace died and quickly got us scheduled. Had a weekend plumbing emergency .
Linda got back to me very promptly and was able to dispatch a technician Tim Kealey very fast. Linda was so empathetic on the call and wanted to get someone to assist ASAP .
Tim arrived in less than an hour and was able to take care of the problem immediately . I was reassured that for the time being there would be no more leaking and that he would be able to return to complete the job after parts were ordered . Tim is a true professional , who seems to take great pride in the job he does and his treatment of people. Linda-called a few days later to set up appointment and again could not be more kind and understanding . Big thanks to both !

Wonderful experience with Oliver! I had them come clean our vents throughout the house as well as the dryer vent. They came fully masked and also put on booties everytime they were in the house. Friendly both of our doggie and our 6 year old (who really wanted to be near them) and very competent. They even explained many things about our system (new house) and I was shocked at how much came out of our vents! I was so pleased with the service that I signed up for their heater/ac plan and have them coming out to price a sump pump for us.

I had my residential air conditioning upgraded yesterday to a Lennox system and from my first phone call to Oliver until yesterday when the job was completed by two skilled craftsman, Mark and Scott it was fast and efficient. I have a contract with Oliver. I made a 1 time payment for the whole year as well. A/C unit is still under warranty. Tech came in on 06/28 Sunday. Fixed it around 2pm. After 30 minutes I still don't feel cool. Call the tech since I had his number. Told him its not working again. He asked me to call the office. Since its Sunday no one in the office. Selected emergency option had to leave a voice message for a emergency on call manager.
Did that 4 times at least. Since no one returned my call I had to go buy 2 A/C units from homedepot.
Emergency service is a joke.

When I bought my house in 2006, I noted that Oliver had installed the water heater and were the regular maintenance provider of the central heat and air-conditioning. Being new to the area, I didn't know any local service providers, so I just used Oliver. I have been using them ever since and have never had a problem. They come when they say, do a good job and leave the work area clean. Once I had a basement flood from a blown pressure valve in the heating system, and they had someone over within the hour who fixed the problem. If I had a reason not to like them I would not be using them still. Their prices are reasonable for routine services, but I do find them a bit pricey for bigger jobs, like replacing the water heater. The customer service personnel are always cheerful and friendly, and the service technicians are consistently competent and helpful.

I have used Oliver for 25 plus years & my parents have used them for over 35 years and we all highly recommend Oliver since we have had the best experience with them! They may be a little more than your average smaller company but you get what you pay for and they always stand behind their work & honor their warranties. It's hard to find a good company in any line of business that are honest & hard working & truly go above & beyond.

Our heat stopped working 3 days before Christmas. Both the gas boiler and the gas hot water heater needed to be replaced immediately.

We had an excellent experience with Oliver. Tom D. came to our home to go over our options, answer questions, and provide estimates. He was very friendly and made us feel more at ease. We were very nervous about cost, but Tom presented us with financing options which were much lower than we had anticipated. Oliver was able to get both the boiler and hot water heater up and running by noon on Christmas Eve.

Tom D. was our go-to guy and answered questions for us even after the systems were installed. I cannot speak highly enough of Tom D. and Oliver and will definitely call Oliver in the future!

I had an excellent experience from start to finish. James Froio, came out and inspected my electrical system for functionality. He was very thorough and efficient. He was also very friendly and very helpful. To make a long story short, we received a proposal, excepted it , and had the work done. The team that came out were extremely friendly very efficient and did good work. The entire experience was painless from start to finish. I would recommend them to friends and family alike.

The technician came when scheduled, did a great job and I was charged a very reasonable price. Impressed!

The Oliver team did a ton of work for me (electrical panel upgrade, electrical receptacle/switch upgrades and installs throughout the house, new gas furnace install, natural gas line install interior and exterior to the house, gas hot water tank install, and gas range install. And some plumbing too!). Patricia, Tom (electrical), and James (HVAC) and team were all fantastic. The work done was timely, professional, and done right the first time. I highly recommend.

I had been a contract customer for years - but they 'changed' the contract to no longer cover service. My 'contract discount' gave me a '10% discount' on parts - but they proceeded to charge me $300 for a capacitor that I found widely available online for $30, and $200 for a contactor that I found online (the exact part) for $20. I understand margin, but this is a rip off. I called an emailed a complaint but got no response.

I was so pleased with Oliver's HVAC product and service, that I hired them for home remodeling. BIG MISTAKE! Two weeks have passed since I have heard from my contractor, and my daughter's bathroom, (which was started a month ago), still isn't finished. And, the final touch-up on a job completed in December - not done. Regrets...
Week 3. Still no communication. But I got an invoice!

Very disappointed with Oliver. Tony the technician was great. I called Oliver 3 times prior to the appointment and all 3 times they said $89 dispatch fee + cost of repairs. They NEVER mentioned the Diagnostic Fee. When Tony came over he said there is an additional $99 diagnostic fee as well. He did give us the option to cancel but we were stuck because its Friday afternoon and we are without a working AC. Oliver needs to be truthful to their customers. Needless to say, i will NEVER be calling Oliver again or WILL NEVER recommend them to anyone.

TECHNICAL SERVICE. 5 STAR!!
The technicians at Oliver have been outstanding! For Maintenance, urgent call on the Memorial holiday- I couldn t Have asked for a better level of professionalism and thoroughness. But way beyond that, in particular is the service of technician Sean Meier, who was sent out to do a diagnostic review of my AC system to determine why the electric breaker was throwing off. I am 75 and live independently but electronics is not my forte. Sean walked me through every step of his review and determination to help me understand what the problems were that he found, what the resolutions could be and all the costs/benefits. He was clear and calm in his explanation, patient, kind and courteous every moment. He worked for over 2 hrs and never rushed, was respectful of my home, my dog and my frustrations over the situation. It was a 5 star experience for me.
CUSTOMER SERVICE. 1 STAR
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Oliver customer service. It is just the opposite. I was put off or rushed, appointments missed after waiting all day due to dispatcher scheduling . Phone time-waiting on hold, being disconnected and no call backs, discourteous customer representatives -happened time and time again, even at the supervisory level. My AC issue and my attempts to get it remedied were misrepresented in their computer log , only to be repeated to me every time I tried to explain. If I trusted what customer service understood and wanted me to believe was my problem , I would have spent a great deal of money in the wrong direction. Only by being persistent did I finally receive the service I should have weeks ago.
And again, Sean Meier derserves high praise. I sincerely hope by this review he receives the recognition he deserves.
And I sincerely hope customer service pays attention to my displeasure with their system. In the end, they acknowledged my many issues by not charging me for their mistakes.

We have had nothing but problems with them. Oliver came out and did a check up and whatever else they do for the unit to run properly. A couple weeks later my whole basement flooded because they didn t put the parts back properly. They did pay to replace carpets like they should have so I gave them a second chance. A guy came out to do more maintance in April. My AC stopped working last week, they came out to check the unit for $180 and told me that I needed $2,000 part. I asked them to check my warranty since I bought the unit less then 5 years ago and they claimed they had no record of it. I found the records, called them back and they magically found my records and told me the warranty had just expired in January. I called James Brown heating and plumbing because I don t trust Oliver anymore. They came out THAT afternoon and fixed the problem for less then $200!

Thomas did an excellent job scheduling my service of my heat pump. He explained thoroughly what was included with the service I purchased. Jacob was on time, considerate, and explained everything about our new equipment to my fiancee. I would definitely use Oliver's again for any important work on my home!

Water was pooling and a stench was coming from around our heater. I called Oliver in the morning and was able to have a technician arrive in the afternoon that same day. Curtis P. diagnosed the problem as a valve needing to be replaced. Thankfully, he had the part on his truck, but asked whether another service technician could come to the house to supervise the replacement. Within 10 minutes, he arrived and closely watched Curtis' work. Although Curtis handled the situation very well on his own, I very much appreciate that he had a more senior technician come to verify the efficacy of his work. I have been a long time customer of Oliver, and although they may not be the cheapest, they are one of the best. Their office staff is courteous, their technicians are provide quality work and all are very well trained.

Dorothy was so pleasant and helpful on the phone. And Roger was too when he arrived at my home to service my heating/airco unit. Throughout the 4 years I have been a customer, everyone I have ever worked with has been kind, courteous, professional and pleasant to work with just like Roger and Dorothy . They are not unique in your company. They are the norm which is why I love Oliver!
