Ocean Waters Hotels and Resorts Review

Beautiful Hotel Rooms are very clean the price was lower then most of the smaller hotels on the beach ... Everything worked and the doors even locked lol..but like most hotels they charged a resort fee I was told it would be $44 for the two nights well it ended up being $77 and being charged to park Why ? And not knowing about it tell you check out ..$13 a night but the free drinks happy hr makes up for it lol we will definitely give it another try ...

The Hotel had no hot tub available.The staff told us we can use a hot tube in the spa.No one told us their will be a $10 fee for each person and the hot tube close at 6pm .Check in is at 4pm thats only leave 2 hours to get settle in and use the hot tub.Room had no paper towels or napkins the front desk said their are no paper towels or napkins available.Hammering at 9am .

The hotel was very nice nd accommodating the only complaint I had was the construction that started early in the morning.

Family had a great time here,

Rooms are nice and clean. The food was good at the restaurant. Pool area and spa is nice. They do not have outdoors hot tub or a kiddie pool.

The place is clean, wonderful and friendly service, outside pool clean and at a wonderful temperature.

The place was dirty, bathroom was small, elevators did not all work, no ice machine on second floor, balcony was filthy!

Great hotel with great ocean view and amazing drinks by the pool. Marisa was the bartender when I visited. Her generous pours left me very happy. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Daytona. I would stay there again.

Great staff. Like walking straight out to beach. 1/4 mile to pier. Lots of places to eat in short walking distance and at hotel.

The room had roaches and the bathroom had dirt all over it. The AC unit had wires coming from it and it's not worth 200 a night. I paid for a beach view and got a parking lot view and it smelled very horribly walking into the hotel. I checked out no sooner than I checked in.

Room was amazing. Staff was amazing. Couldnt have asked for a better stay!

I am here with my daughter at a Cheer meet and this has been one of my worst experiences in a hotel. When we checked in, 45 minutes later, we were still waiting. Only one family was in front of us when we arrived. One person was manning the desk and he was taking phone calls instead of helping the people standing in line. After listening to him talk with someone over the phone about "scheduling" issues, I insisted he take no more phone calls until after we were checked in. I didn't want my daughter doing level 5 tumbling runs without sufficient sleep. When we finally, close to an hour later, got into our room, I discovered we did not have an ocean front room. We had no balcony either and were overlooking concrete. So $128 a night to admire the street. It took three trips to the check-in counter before I finally got the manager, Robert Klemm, to speak to me. He said because we had booked the room through the Cheer organization, the contract with them was at $128 per night. Normally on block rates, room rates should be lower, not 25% higher. I think it's unethical to charge a higher rate than the advertised rate on the hotel website regardless of how the booking is made. It may even be illegal!

Not only that, but I had no internet, When I took my computer to the checkin-in counter and showed them that I couldn't connect they gave me a number to call for technical support. I called that number, and after about thirty minutes, they discovered an issue with the website, where something that needed to be checked, that I agreed to abide by the terms of the contract, was absent. They did a bypass of that on my computer for the remainder of my stay so I could connect, but for someone who is not tech savvy, he or she probably would not have sufficient knowledge to jump through all the hoops for internet connection. And the hour I spent fixing it could have been spent doing something else more enjoyable. If you are coming to Daytona Beach, don't stay here. I've talked to other Cheer families here and everyone I've talked to has had issues with the hotel.

Nice pool and great enployees. One downside beds are not great

It was OK, but will never come back again. There's a construction going on, so it's really hard to enjoy.

Nice place to stay minus the resort fee and the roach we found in the trash when we stayed.

Very clean. Nicely decorated. Resort with all amenities and good services. Under some reconstruction from previous hurricane damage but that is not an inconvenience. Ocean front views extremely comfortable beds etc. I would definitely recommend this resort. Romantic, family, etc.

Loved our stay. Staff was excellent. Beds are great! Good view of ocean. We ordered breakfast to our room.

This hotel is in need of remodeling. The rooms are outdates, there is a bug problem in the rooms and facilities and the hotel itself needs a lot of work (walls, fixtures, etc.).

The staff was very friendly even though they really couldn't do much about the issues.

I love it I basically spend my in my room on balcony.for me it was peaceful and relaxing going through a lot I needed. The young lady that cleans the rooms 901.9floor very nice very polite I think she deserves good things the ones that bring us the towels the guy was really sweet. I highly recommend this place A+ that how much I really like this place.. the only thing that my complaint is and I did not like it what I saw my daughter and my granddaughter and I. we went out to wait for our car. a couple of young man was just hanging out but one. practically one guy had his pants down I did not like that because my granddaughter saw that.I wasn't happy very upset

The check in was bad ..... the people we had just did not have the skills .... :(
But I will say Cora at the desk turned it all around !!! CORA WAS AWESOME!!! SHE MADE THE TRIP !

While they are currently renovating and repairing hurricane damage to the exterior of the hotel, the staff were very friendly and they more than compensated with free drinks and appetizers for one hour in the evening.

I didn't get to experience much since I was there at a business conference. Seemed pretty average to me.

Room seemed good but when we returned to our room on the 8th floor in the evening there was a cockroach on the floor. We disposed of it, but more came. I can not recommend this hotel due to lack of hygiene.

Staff was awesome, food in dining room was really good however elevators a major issue with wait time-more than normal busy hotels I stay at(one was still down so made it worse), rooms dated bathrooms have pedestal sink no counter space and do not get ocean view room due to noise on strip or any near elevators the noise was terrible all nite- OF will eliminate that elevator noise issue . sorry to say for the money(same i pay all the time at hilton/hampton/marriotts down there ) just didnt stand up quality wise..

Lovely location, beautiful building, having said that, the service in the restaurant was poor and my food arrived cold. The 22.00 resort fee covers services that are usually complimentary and when I asked for a late check out , I was told it would cost 30.00. I have stayed in hotels around the world and that was a first. I will not be coming back

Overall stay was very nice. I had a handicapped accessible room. The room itself was great. I had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and dishes/silverware. The bathroom was good also. My only problem was ingress and egress to and from the room. My room was located outside the main hotel near the pool. View was fantastic, but getting to the room and into the room was difficult. There was no automatic door going out of the hotel and it was difficult getting into the room as the door opened out rather than in. I managed, but with a bit of ingenuity.

It was good. Great pool the room was very nice but the bathroom was small.

I don t even know where to start! I will try to go in order for all 3 days...Check in took pretty much an hour. We were not even greeted when she indicated for us to come up to the front desk, the woman with the long dark hair said Name . I should ve known right then and there it was going to be a horrible experience. This woman got very upset with me, because I reserved through Priceline. Her exact words to me were pricline doesn t tell you everything, and you should have booked with us directly for a better price, and you would of been told about the daily deposit After walking away with my 4 children (to take a few deep breaths) who were vlogging for their YouTube channel, I got back in line (only 25 mins this time) and was invited by the same person, and checked in. Her mood instantly changed, and she smiled and even laughed a little. Once we open the door to our room, I realized why she laughed. We walked into a room that reaked of MOLD-the sliding glass door was jammed open, the ceiling was stained so bad the paint was hanging, there were dirty utensils in the sink, and there was yellow liquid in the toilet. We called the front desk to explain everything, and I was told to come to the front desk as they will have to try to find a room. The line was backed way up, so we asked if we have to wait due to the sitauation, and were told I mean your basically checking in, so Yeah . I asked about the deposit, as I cannot have any more additional charges - I was was told very loudly the charge is per day, and it is something we have to charge, and you should of just booked through us to avoid this . I calmly explain that I understand there is a charge, I just want to ensure that I don t get charged. This woman is one of the rudest people I have dealt with. We get our room after an hour, and one of us goes up to inspect it before lugging all of our bags fearing it would be bad again. It was a nice room. We were even told that we would get breakfast coupons in the morning for breakfast. We were so happy, enjoyed the beach, then decided to go to the pool. My oldest son was asked to provide his room info-I over heard this guy, and interrupted the man and asked what the problem was, and he laughed and stated the people sneak in to pool, and has to verify people. We decided to leave as their was a strong marijuana odor. The woman at the front desk advised that it was just bike week, and now spring break, so there is a lot going on. The next morning we are all sluggish due to being woken up to fire crackers - REAL FIRE Crackers and screaming at 3:40am. We get to the front desk to be told that we can only have 2 breakfast coupons. At this point I stopped all my expectations and just gave up on having a nice mini-vacation. 5 people 2 coupons? So I just let 2 of my children go eat? 2/5 stars for the view!!

What hidden gem. And great value. Right on the beach with everything you could need. Plus great location!!!

Very clean and nice place to stay. Other than the bathroom door being a little sticky, everything else was great. Really loved the big pool, beach access and walking distance to the pier.

The Plaza had easy access to local clubs and amenities in North Daytona. Rooms were decent and acceptable for the price.

After traveling 18 hours to get to this hotel that we booked a month in advance, we got denied our room because my friend is 20 and she needed to be 21.. whatever it was our fault. Anyways, it was 1am, we were completely exhausted. Obviously, we needed help and the lady at the front desk was being rude and kicked us the curb... Here we are stranded on the sidewalk searching for a hotel at 1am. The lady could have helped us but she decided to be a jerk

A great experience except there's no hot tub available for guest use unless you pay to go in one at the spa. Rooms were nice, breakfast was amazing too. Great stay!

The outside bar was amazing. The staff including the bartender were awesome. Food was amazing.

Dont stay here!!!! whatever price they quote add $22.50 for a resort fee, which is swimming pool,fitness room and parking. also this is such a noisy hotel you can hear everything in the hallways,anytime a door shuts the whole room shakes, the doors let in a lot of light, and they never seem to cool off. The whole place looks dirty and run down.

I was only at the Plaza for the night but it was a great stay. Room was nice and the staff was very attentive and great hosts. Would definitely stay there again

The kingsize bedroom has enough space and a kichen bar, it makes you feel like back to home. Good view for ocean, white sand beach is good for morning view.

Staying overnight attending a work conference. When our room was not was expected they did kindly help to fix and switched our room. Friendly staff. FYI, Hotel currently under construction.

Overall not bad, I do wish the physical upkeep of such a nice hotel was a little better. Small cosmetic things need touching up. Great staff

We stayed here for our engagement. We requested a ovean view and got a half ocen view and city view. However the whole time from 9pm to 4am there was someone outside with a megaphone preaching god and yelling people they were going to hell..etc. it was not a plenty stay. The hotel its self is nice however i did see a very large roach run down the hall on the 11th floor when we got out of the elevator. It qas quite gross. So i was paranoid the rest of the night about bugs. The white lin The front desk gentlemen were very helpful and caring when we asked about Daytona beach area attractions and etc.

Was unable to use my balcony due to the hurricane damage. Not enough elevators for this size hotel. At times waited for 20 min for a elevator and family ended up using stairs. I also didn't like the fact that the pool bar closes at 7 when the pool is open until 11 and no coolers allowed. Beds were comfortable though. Would no be likely to pick this place again

Not worth to it's value. Staff is still fine. Did not find found at all in pool area on the day i stayed. Booked ocean view and found balcony was closed so wasted money. Could have stayed 2 more days other place in same price. No kitchen in room , no grill in complex.

Very nice location and pool area. We got moved to a different room because of bed bugs!! Disgusting. Bites all over my body. Poor maintenance. The people are nice but we got switched to a suite room but it wasn t any better than our old room with the bed bugs in it, it was musty , the floor was damp and same with the furniture and beds. The door is chipped everywhere. Also slow check in. The hotel needs to be updated with new carpet, new painting everywhere, new furniture and so on.

NICE ROOMS, POOL, POOL BAR AND LOBBY BAR. FRIENDLY STAFF AND CLEAN PREMISES. BALCONIES ARE VERY SMALL. RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS ALL AROUND THE LOCATION. NICE CONFERENCE ROOMS FOR BUSINESS CONFERENCES. PLENTY OF PARKING.

They told me the deposit will take 24 hours and when I called 2 days later they told me give it 3 or 5 days more!
This sures your company is super poor in management as in the services I had while my staying.

They give you "free" Fiji water and a "free" drink at the bar, but then they charge you a $20 "resort fee". So they're basically forcing you to buy the Fiji water and the drink at the bar.

Love staying at The Plaza. We had great service from the friendly staff. The entire hotel is clean and tidy. The pool is wonderful day or night. Can t wait to go back!

It took us 2.5 hours and 3 attempts at the front desk to even get into our room. My third attempt at the front resulted in being insulted on the radio loudly being called "three intoxicated broads" I was so humiliated in front of all of at least 10 other customers, if the embarrassment had not been enough. I have never even been through a worse experience at a hotel, the manager only made us feel even worse, calling us liars when we called... even though another guest across the hall heard and was able to verify. Then we attempted to call corporate to be insulted further. I am about to post this on all of my social media so people understand how much of a waste of time this location truly is. DO NOT COME TO THIS HOTEL. I WOULD RATHER STAY AT A MOTEL 8.

The location of the resort is great, but the rooms need some updates.

Attended a silent auction and luncheon. The meeting space was beautiful and the food supplied was great. Followed up the afternoon by renting a room for the night and was so disappointed. There was literally someone's dirty underwear laid out on our balcony, the locks on our door were broken and it was just a cheap place in general. Wouldn't go back for a stay but would hold an event here.

Hotel was mediocre at best. However, the front staff Cora and Cheri were absolutely amazing!

Great stay at the Plaza this weekend. Despite the construction going on, we had a wonderful time and the staff really went out of the way to make up for the inconvenience of there being noise and the work being done to the hotel. Location couldn't be beat, right next to the boardwalk and no cars were allowed to drive onto the beach in front of this hotel which was a big plus to me! Pool area was fantastic and the people running the food and drink area (Cynthia) were so nice!! The only negative thing I could say is we checked in early and there wasn't a room ready. No problem, we we're gonna use the pool anyways. They told me they would call if a room was available before normal check-in time at 4. We didn't receive a call so I went to the front to check in and was told our room was not ready yet-it was after 4 at this time. Luckily the person helping me went and checked with someone and put us in the room "right next door" because that room was clean. The only other negative point to mention is the elevators. There are only 3 for the entire hotel and the entire time we were there we would have to wait a very long time for them to come and have enough room for us plus our luggage. Other than that, wonderful stay and I hope to visit again!

Great pool, spa plus jacuzzi, customer service, and view. When we arrived we were greeted by a wonderful staff, but Ilene was especially helpful. My wife and I came to our first room to enjoy our weekend, but unfortunately the room smelled like paint thinner. Once I called the front desk, they promptly sent us to another room that was just outside of the pool. The beds we're ok but we enjoyed our stay, the view, and the staff. Only negative to this review is that the elevator is still having issues of some sort or another from the last time we stayed a few years ago. If you stay at the beach or the pool, this is where we recommend to stay every time.

The restaurant inside of the Plaza Resort was terrible. They were out of everything and it took over an hour to get our food that was very poor quality.. "the steaks were still raw!" I don't reccomend going to this place at all.

DO NOT STAY HERE! CANNOT EMPHASIZE THAT ENOUGH! First off the entire hotel smelled horrible and musty. There were no pool towels by the pool. When I walked in to find some an employee told me I could check the fitness center rather than bringing me some. All the cushions on the chairs at the pool were stained and dirty towels laid everywhere. I found a giant black hair on my bed. The elevator was out of order the day I left and I stayed on the 7th floor. And to top it all off my toilet overflowed so bad I literally had to grab my child and go running from the room at 8am. The hotel was disgusting and run down and I would never recommend it. I stayed there two years ago and it was not like this. I do not know what has happened there but I will never be back and encourage others who visit Daytona to stay elsewhere.
