Worst hotel I've stayed at in my life. Checked in the first day (on spring break) with 4 guests and they charged me $90 for a second parking pass. When I went up to my room, the air conditioning would not turn on. So I called the front desk to have them come fix it multiple times and nobody ever came up. Then I called another 2 times at night requesting towels and blankets and they told me they'd send it right up and both times, they never did. To top all of this off, on our third day at the hotel (we paid for 5 days), they evicted us from the hotel for being too noisy. Remember this is spring break and 80% of the hotel was college spring breakers. So we lost our money from the last two days and were forced to go back home early. This was without a doubt the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I HIGHLY advise everyone to stay away from this place. From what I've heard, Ocean Breeze next door actually provides good customer service unlike Plaza Resort.

Hotel with horrible service and accommodations. Hard beds and thin sheets. Waited 30 mins for food that was horribly cooked and the servers had no idea who's was who's. Called for towels and waited for an hour and still none were brought so we had to get them ourselves. Only then an hour after that did someone come up. The shower went cold on the second day. Plus we were not notified of conrstuction with the loss of our balcony. This place is pricey for mediocre service.

Great resort with excellent staff and service. I planned a visit with my wife for our anniversary and she totally loved it. The one hour free drink was awesome. Wonderful views of the ocean. Get the ocean front room, totally worth it.

We really enjoyed ourselves at this hotel. It isn't the most modern, but certainly has character. Our room was spacious, the pool was very nice, and of course, the staff was very friendly. Isn't that the most important thing?

Not a 3-4 star hotel. No beach chairs or towels available. Beds and sheets not very comfortable. Strong bleach odor. Needs serious remodeling with a more refined touch. Outdated decor.

Came down to Florida for my wedding, my in-laws stayed here. Their room had an amazing view of the ocean. Friendly staff, even offered to set up a venue at no cost on the beach. Definitely will recommend.

The best part about the Plaza is the staff! From the greeting at the front desk from Cora to the valet to the wait staff everyone is super friendly and attentive! The place is a little tired but under renovation. It s 7am and everyone is cleaning up, the sunrise was breathtaking and my balcony view is perfect. There is a restaurant on site, a gift shop and a hair spa. Haven t tried any but if I do I will update!

Everything was great. However, The bar should stay open later and the poolside bar should be open as long as the pool is open. The restaurant food was a little pricey but there are places in the area within walking distance to eat for cheaper price. But overall, we had a great time. I'll be back next year.

We were in September for a week in the Plaza. The whole hotel was clean and tidy. Our room was a standard room overlooking the street, yet it was not too loud. A minibar was available. The hotel had a small manageable gym.
The price for the week was unbeatable. The beach is very well maintained and not crowded.

Honestly, I ve stayed at less expensive hotels and had far better experiences.
1. If you book online with a military discount be prepared that the non refundable price you pay in advance DOES NOT include their $22.50 daily resort fee.
2. The room was literally a king bed with the dresser and TV to the far left of the bed so that it is impossible to watch tv from the bed. Instead you are forced to use one of the two most uncomfortable chairs. And this was an upgrade from the standard room!
3. The TV- there is no menu and the guide provided by the hotel is inaccurate & it does not display channels;. so you are left surfing channels trying to guess at what to watch.
4. The bathroom. It is small, very small. We came to Daytona because my son was fighting and part of the prep is cutting weight which requires a bathtub and or hot tub. So when I booked this hotel I did so specifically because they had a hot tub and bath tub. First, only a child or someone under 5 ft could fit in the tub so the tub was useless. We then asked where the hot tub was as we couldn t find it yet it s advertised on their website and oh it s in the SPA! So you can only use it during spa hours AND you have to purchase a service (100-200$) or pay $10 pp to use it. At the cost of this hotel and with the daily resort fee you would think a HOT TUB would be included as it is in almost every other hotel.
5. The toilet in the bathroom runs forever and is very loud so far warning- don t use it at night unless you want to wake everyone else in the room.
6. Power outlets- there is an outlet only on one side of the bed! So the other person in the bed is unable to use or do anything that requires electricity.
7. They are repairing from LAST YEARS hurricane damage- which they DO NOT tell you until you arrive to check in. But that s ALL they say but the do offer you a refund if you choose not to stay (after you ve driven for hours and know that it takes a few days to a week for them to refund your money and then you are stranded). What they don t tell you until AFTER you ve checked in is that there is construction M-F from 8:30-5 and folks who paid extra for an ocean view with a balcony- sorry but balances are closed during the week!
8. Over a busy weekend, they close down one elevator- there are only two for this entire hotel! But hey there is yet another sign by the elevators telling you that they are doing construction on the elevators and thank you for your patience.
9. Check in- is chaos. Due to the hurricane damage the car park area for check in is closed. So you need to drop off someone to check in and then drive around the block until they are done.
10. SELF PARKING: I am a disabled veteran but my son was told he could not stay and wait for me to check in and was instructed to go self park. There are NO handicapped parking spots!! If there was, it was only one. I do believe this is not compliant with the ADA standards. But at the very least was infuriating. To add to this, they have closed off the top levels of the parking garage so there is literally only two very small floors in which to park. Good luck finding a spot!! Then if you so self park there is no one to help with luggage, no luggage carriers , nothing. You are on your own to lug everything through the garage as there is only ONE entrance from the garage to the hotel, down a short hall and to the elevators (remember there is only one so you will be waiting for quite a while)
11. I understand they do offer complimentary valet parking and with that you get help and luggage carriers but what are you to do when the valet instructs you to self park??
12. The microwave works as long as you jiggle the cord!
13. For some reason housekeeping decided that 10:30 pm was the proper time to vacuum the hallways.
14. Bring a flashlight if you are going to the pool after dark as there is no lighting from the hotel through the path to the pool and the lighting at the pool itself is minimal.
I ll never stay here again, Airbnb it- far better experience and actually worth the price.

Came here this weekend for a volleyball tournament and thought it was a very nice hotel. My room was clean and spacious. The grounds were really nice, I can't imagine how nice it must be when the weather is warm, but it was a little chilly this weekend so it was really nice to sit around the firepit's they had upon the balcony bar area. The reason this did not get a 5 star was that I did not want to pay for the ocean view rooms and selected the rooms facing the strip. It was very loud and no fault to the hotel but with a near-empty hotel, I guess they could have helped me out and gave me the heads-up about the noise. The restaurant was very nice and the staff was amazing there. Thank you for a great experience and we will come again.

Nice room , pricey for off season. We ordered room service, Great food. Daytona Beach is dirty. If we had to stay in Daytona again we would stay here again. But we plan on staying out of this arm pit of a town.

Very comfortable, beautiful location within walking distance to everything. Prices reasonable! View perfect! Staff very polite. Room service for breakfast was also good. We will definitely return. Lots of other services offered, pools, gas firepit outside, spa services. I really wanted a massage, but we checked out before time. You will not be disappointed.

The hotel is older, but decent. It is well maintained for the most part and we enjoyed our stay, except for construction going on next door which woke us up at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning! We booked through a through third-party and where unhappy with the results, but it was not due to the hotel itself. We would return.

NO WIFI AND WORKERS ARE ON DRUGS!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible hotel. The Wifi does not work at all. It bounces you off all the time, it is weak and slow, and you half to re-sign in to it any time you leave and comeback and my computer and kindle could not conect at all, only my phone would and that connection was VERY BAD. The hallways STINK of marijuana(weed, pot, scunk smell!) And, the place is falling apart. If there was anything less that one star this hotel would be it.

I was working in Daytona for a week and I Love the ocean. They gave me a great rate to stay throughout the week! The staff was awesome! I am very picky about hotels I stay at, because I practically live in them. All week long it was quiet, relaxing, and very festive at the same time. This was my first time at Daytona beach, and this hotel gave me the Daytona beach experience that I was hoping for. I will most definitely be back! If you are ever in Daytona beach Florida then I definitely recommend the plaza resort and spa hotel. Oh yeah did I mention? The rate they gave me was un beatable!

This was a great place to stay. The mansgement is very exccessive. This hotels has more restrictions than most. They charge $50 a day collateral fee if you mutilple by your length of stay this can be rediculous. High resort fee be careful not to be tricked.

Horrible from day one. We checked in and they were running a gas powered generator under our balcony. The room REAKED of mold. Construction going on everywhere in the hotel, construction workers are not accomidating to guests (IE unwilling to let us out of the garage). The bed was horrible...etc.etc..etc. Terrible hotel. Do not stay here!!! ( I should have listened to the bad reviews, go stay at DBR)

Balcony was locked they said for safety.dissapointed we couldn't use it as we had great views of ocean.hotel was on beach. Offered free beer wine for one hour due to putting up with construction issues. Friday night parking became problem since hotel became booked. But overall experience was good for price

Terrific place and some of the best customer service I've ever received. Had and issue with something dripping from overhead in parking garage that is being addressed. Cora and Henry at front desk world class. Will and Mike as porters give them a raise and make them trainners. You are wasting their talents as they do the job by the book. Fast and courteous. Overall one of the best stays in the I've had. We'll Done

Worst hotel I have ever been in. The outside was nice and even the lobby but the room was outdated and nasty. The hallway smelled awful. We had to listen to blaring music until 2am from outside the hotel and customers screaming down the hall. Would not recommend ever staying here, wish we never did. Not only could we not sleep but we had to drive home the next morning.

I would not recommend staying here. Being a local I thought this one of the best hotels on the beach. Unfortunately that is not how my experience was. My car was broken into with my window broken out and after the security guard said they would pay, I went to get my car fixed and the hotel would not offset any of the expenses occurred. The total cost was $450 to repair the door and window. The hotel staff is friendly especially the servers in the dining room, but the hotel is under construction and the rooms need to be updated. Extremely disappointed in my stay.

I came to Daytona for a wedding and stayed here and I was just beyond pleased!!!!! I love a clean hotel and this hotel was clean and had a very nice smell. The rooms were so nice and I wasn't afraid to sleep under the covers. The pool area was amazing and the beach was right behind it. The staff was very friendly and I loved that the room keys were wristbands!!! SO COOL. The onlyyyyyyyyy thing that was annoying was the wait time for elevators when leaving the beach or pool. I waited several times for 20mins but other than that I loved this place and would definitely come back.

I had a spa treatment for my birthday today 11-14-2019. It was everything I hope for granted this is my first time ever going to get a massage. But Heather was amazing and she takes pride in her work. We also had a great conversation. Lisa and all the other staff were amazing as well. They make sure you have everything you need to feel comfortable. The chardonnay was amazing and the jacuzzi was very nice and great temperature, but nothing was better than the shower the water is so nice well besides my massage. The robes they give you to put on is so comfortable so is the shoes. I'll definitely be coming back. I wish I can give it more stars and it's not to pricey for everything you are getting. I LOVE IT HERE. THANKS FOR MAKING MY BIRTHDAY SPECIAL. And the gift bag is lovely also and so is the waiting area everything about this spa is immaculate. Thanks bro for your suggestion to come here

I will not be returning to this Hotel. One of the elevators was broken, the hotel was booked so this slowed down the elevators tremendously. When it was time to check out their were no carts available, so I found myself having to make 4 trips to my vehicle using the stairs I was on the 8th floor :/ When I expressed my concerns to the front desk, they didn t show any sympathy, as a matter a fact they continued on as if they didn t hear me!!! As for the towel service at the pool, when I asked for a few towels the lady on duty told me to get some out of the laundry bin because she didn t have time to put some up .as she was stuffing her face with food. Seriously!!!!

All I've heard this stay is that they are really busy and cannot help me with anything. I've never been told, as a paying customer, that I have to do without because they are so busy. Check out was a nightmare. I was struck in my room all morning because the elevators were constantly full. I waited for 45 minutes to catch the elevator, but it was always full. We went past the checkout time, and they told us it was not possible for a late checkout because they were so full and busy. So I asked them how they expected me to check out when I'm trapped on the 8th floor. They finally sent someone hours later to help. My entire day was wasted on checking out. This has been the worst experience ever.

Bad experience, the hotel is either understaffed or the staff doesn t care at all. We ran out of towels in our room and the front desk told us to go chase down another staff member in the hallway to find a towel. They descriminate against you solely based on your age. If you look like you are in your 20 s your buisiness, money and comfort level at the hotel doesn t seem to matter to them and you get harassed by the staff for dumb rules that nobody follows anyway. I.e. bringing your own alcohol to the pool. You also get harassed by the staff if you are not wearing your armband 24/7 God forbid you forget it in your room you might get thrown out of the hotel or be barred from going to the bathroom when your leaving the beach. The elevator system is garbage, if the Hotel is over 25% capacity they cannot handle the traffic. Check in took hours, they had no carts to carry our stuff to our room and the staff did not care about that either. They also threatened to keep our security deposit for minor things like not wearing flip flops in common areas or carrying a cup that wasn t bought from the hotel bar. The owner clearly seems more concerned with squeezing pennies out of people than making the stay worth making guests more inclined to spending extra money here. This place is highly disappointing, you ll get better service at a dicey looking motel
