Very attentive staff and great cocktails with amazing views
Visited on a late afternoon on a weekday. It was full of "city" types - but the bad type. Only a few tables really afford you a good view, so nab one if you can. The cocktails were fine but not amazing. The actual bar itself was uninspiring to say the least - very sterile and frankly boring. Worth popping up and having a drink to get the Shard view without paying the ridiculous entry price, but that's it really.
Visited for lunch following a trip to the Shard viewing deck.
Fortunate enough to get a window seat for two as we arrived early in the lunch period. Opted for the fixed price menu and wasn t disappointed. Suckling Pig and salmon fillet mains were exquisitely cooked as were sides. Staff were friendly and attentive without being a nuisance. We had mentioned it was for our 25th wedding anniversary and the dessert plates came decorated with a personalised message - nice touch. Would definitely return.
most beautiful food with the most beautiful view, ordered steak and duck 5/5 food and drink rating. Wouldn t highly recommend going to the bar on a busy night like Friday as you can t sit anywhere or even stand next to the bar, but you can stand around at the bar as when you get to your table on the other side of the building it s all quiet and proper
Lovely service and beautiful views. Vegetarian options are limited but what's served is delicious.
The place was easy to find, upon arrival quick security check. At the restaurant service was quick and attendance to the table fantastic. I guess it has to be 100%if they want you to leave in 2hours. The view of course is magical. Well worth to arrive earlier to get seated by the window. The food was ok, tasty but not special especially when you compare to the price, have to order sides separate which you have to pay extra for. Dessert menu didn't impress me at all, just had a scoope of sorbet. It was very noisy in the restaurant,a little bit disturbing. So if the food was better and the noise was reduced i would of given it a 5star.
The food was awful! The only decent thing was the dessert and the view.
To be honest I didn't find the staff very friendly... The food was ok and desert good and came fast. The waitress gave us a weird look when we said we didnt want alcohol or wine... The enviroment is nice but was so loud...
I'd recommend Sky Garden instead...
Love this place, the food is great and the staff are excellent, nothing is too much to ask - customer service is on point for such a big busy place. Oh, and the view, stunning. I always take my out of town visitors for drinks and nibbles in the lounge.
Nice restaurant, good food, fantastic view but some of the poorest service I've recieved in any restaurant. It was slow, nobody seemed to know what was going on or who was looking after who. We were asked what we'd like to order before receiving menus!
Extremely bad service, unprofessional. Food is average and really overpriced would defined not recommend!
Lovely date night at Oblix West. 32 floors up the shard looking over the city and on towards the west end. Nice comfortable atmosphere and we were lucky to get a window tablet for two.
Our lovely waiter Juan recommended the Chefs signature tasting menu, 10 plates of delicious food, with the Black Cod and Steak cooked rare to perfection! The wine list is huge and Juan recommended the Sasseo red wine, a smooth delicious wine.
All in all. A great night, amazing views of London, great service, delicious food.
I would genuinely give this restaurant less than one star if I could, my advice book one of the other restaurants available;
The table was sticky, uncleaned and wobberly, after asking for it to be cleaned I was handed a napkin, this isn t something I d expect when eating dinner at the shard,
The waitress if you can even call her that, order our food but then forgot to place our order with the chef, so we waited a further 45 minutes for our starter, but this was after she came over again to confirm our order, saying that the chef was unhappy with our starter even though I had seen two other orders of exactly the same starter go out to other customer that had orders after us, if your going to lie to a customer at least make it believeable,
But with was all made better by a free bottle of water, which was given to us as a gesture of good will I had to keep filling my glass myself which isn t a huge issue but when I was noticed filling the glass myself the bottle was snatched out of my hand and then spilt over me,
What can I say about my overall experience at the shard.. let say I wont be going back in a hurry, although the food was adequate I would of gotten better service at McDonalds at least there their tables don t wobble,
Aaron
Was served a roar chicken for mains and was still charged the full costs of it which has led to vomiting hours afterwards. However the service charge was deducted but the staff were pretty good...
Went to the lounge for brunch. Apps were very good. Highlight was the deviled eggs with truffle. The main I had was the ribeye with hashbrowns and duck egg. Got the side of truffle mac and cheese. To start, only the ribeye was good. The More
They always say, you get what you pay for. Expensive but the service and experience is exquisite. I booked for our 12 year anniversary. The food and drinks were delicious but sadly we didn't get to sit next to the window. You'll get them if you're lucky as you cannot ask for them beforehand. One window table became free as soon as we sat down on our table but we were close enough to the window so didn't bother disturbing the staff. I liked that everywhere we went, we were greeted with a "happy anniversary" including text on our dessert so it felt very personal.
Came for my partners birthday, and suffer with a bad nut allergy so was very nervous. However, when I got there I was very please to see they handed me a nut free menu for both mains and dessert; something I ve never experience before. It reassured me and made me feel a lot more at ease knowing they take allergies seriously enough to have separate menus. The many of the waiters were unaware there was a nut free dessert menu and the manager/head waiter had to show them so I think all staff should be made more aware of special menus and dietary requirements. Also, ordered the lobster which tasted amazing but he little meat in it, so ended up spending a lot of money and leaving still a bit hungry. Amazing views and polite staff.
I was taken here by my partner as a birthday surprise. As it was my first visit to the Shard I was quite excited to experience dining at one of the UKs iconic buildings. Upon entering the restaurant I was taken back by how congested the dining area was. This created a noisy atmosphere, something that was not appreciated and thus didn t help form part of a relaxed dining experience. Not only did this make it difficult to hear the waiter, when they finally attended to us, but also my partner sat across the table.
The portion sizes were disappointing and far from generous considering the high price being paid. Despite being labelled as a grill the options being offered to accommodate this were rather limited and not characteristic of this type of restaurant.
Despite the negatives, the view of the city was quite impressive. However, you must wait until sunset or shortly after as the sun reflecting on the dirty glass made it rather difficult to get a memorable photograph..
Although I have ticked this experience off my bucket list I shall not be returning and advise others to reconsider before booking.
Good views and very comfortable dinner. Food doesn't quite match the view but will visit again for the atmosphere.
I have been to Oblix a few times, mostly during weekends and it was a good experience, however I have visited them this Monday, for snacks, and their beef tartare made my stomach upset for the whole Tuesday, and surprisingly the whole Monday experience seemed worse than the one I was used to get. Not sure if I'll come back there for food ever again if I can't be sure that it's fresh.
Incredible location. Not to be missed. Great food. High price but it's London, baby.
AMAZING view of London. Drinks were too overpriced.
Yesterday we had amazing dinner at Oblix. From the start till the end we enjoyed our experience here. Food and service 5 stars. Definitely recommended!!!!!!
I like the food, the entrance with the chef preparing the meals is great. However, It was cloudy so did not manage to see much of the outside view.
Great restaurant with a beautiful view of London!
The kitchen is awesome!
Spectacular views at night. Always a wait here so call ahead.
Go for a pre-dinner drink, not for dinner.
Gorgeous views but the dinner service experience is subpar. We went for engagement celebration and wanted to keep ordering but they literally booted us from our seats. Never happened in my life in such an unprofessional manner as here. They think they re hot stuff since they re the new kid on the block, but on the global stage of high rise dining, Oblix is less than impressive.
Although the cocktails and the view is amazing the food really doesn't live up to expectations. Portion sizes are small and not so flavoursome so expect to pop into McDonald's on the way home
Perfect. My friends and I led a French-speaking waitress. The manager of the restaurant went himself to inquire into the details of my friend's allergies. And, of course: the view.
Great views however extremely overpriced and bad service.
Great food. Great service. But do not expect to have a "normal conversation" with people at your table. A very noisy environment. Not what I was expecting at all
We have dined here before and it was our good friends birthday, so decided to return and we were sat at a window table much to the delight of our guests. The service was exceptional, William was fantastic greeting our birthday guest and making the whole experience personal and happy. The wagyu steak was to die for and the sweet platter with birthday wishes written was the topping of the meal. So many thanks guys for your hospitality once again
Oblix was okay, but that is as far as I can go. They cram the place so full and we paid to eat to be sandwiched in between everyone. It felt like the tables next to us were just listening to us. No fault of their own, its just too cramped. More
Great place for food and drinks! Went there for brunch on Sunday, great atmosphere, great view. The food was good and you got plenty for your money. Staff is lovely, ambiance and overall experience was perfect.
Bad experience all round. Were pressured into ordering before we were ready. Waitress knocked over the milk which was for the coffee I was drinking and it went everywhere. My friends' steak was served as medium rare when she had asked for medium to well done.
We'd asked for burrata and bread as a starter before our main but these were brought it along with the main. Food was awful .... steak had an awful flavour to it, bearly edible and far from deliscious. Full of gristle. Garlic mash was basically flavourless and watery with a powdery texture as if it wasn't actually made of potato but something artificial.
Burrata and a pesto sauce which came with it was bland, didn't match well and was completely unremarkable. Only thing we were happy paying for was the bread and the drinks.
Spoke to the manager. He said they had had over 300 tables served so far that day and had no complaints. Very defensive and not apologetic in any way. I also found it hard to believe that that was actually the case based on the food we had been served. Offered us something else on the menu but we had lost our appetite and faith in the quality of food by that stage.
I took my partner there for her Birthday and mentioned that on the booking. And to the waitress as we sat down. Compared to other restaurants of that caliber the service was poor. We had to wait 20 mins to order our dessert then was rushed to eat it at the end due to the 2 hour period. We weren't even offered to be moved to the drinking area. I will not be going back as it ruined her birthday occasion.
We had an amazing meal at Oblix to celebrate our Engagement. The table was not ready so we got a drink in the bar, which was then removed from our bill without us realising for the inconvenience in waiting. The food was exceptional and probably one of the best meals we've ever had. The views were amazing and an experience we wont forget anytime soon.
Celebrating whole lot of special. We decided on one of THE best places in London, The Shard. There are a few different cool places to hang and dine here, but we choose Oblix for dinner. We celebrated my husband's birthday here while on our honeymoon.
Let me start by stating we got there on a Monday and it looked and seemed like a Friday night. It was hard to get a table without a reservation, but because of great service, they accommodated us regardless. We started with the Truffle Flatbread with feta cheese, hummus and rosemary. Highly recommend. Very delicious, light and just a wonderful start to the rest of your meal. We then tried Lamb Chops which my husband stated were grilled to perfection and bursting with flavor! I tried to Lobster & Clam Linguini, with chilli, garlic and lemon. This was THE best dish I have had in London!
As I stated earlier in my review, it felt like a Friday night rather than a Monday. Good music, packed with beautiful people and beautiful views. This is a MUST while in London.
Don't go here expecting incredible and inventive cuisine. Come here for the opportunity to have a beautiful view of London, which just happens to be accompanied by a meal with a good level of service. It is clear however, that what you are paying for is the view. If you want inventive and provocative cuisine, there are plenty of other better places in London for the price.
Taking my wife for a birthday lunch treat we started in the bar for cocktails (I recommend the Strawberry Negroni) and then moved in to the main restaurant. Service and food was excellent. The fixed price "Elevator" menu and unlimited wine was good value. Oh, there were some views too.
a special place the pyramid-shaped building next to the london bridge 32th floor train station ... the decor is very modern stunning views over all of london ... the river thames on one side ... stunning .. .drinks at More
I am not a food photographer by the way. :)
But the food was GREAT. After graduating we had dinner and it was a great memory.
Recommend to everyone. It s little pricy but should visit at least once.
Everything was lovely!
if you want to enjoy the amazing view of the Shard without paying an expensive ticket, Oblix is the perfect place! The drinks are amazing and at very reasonable prices! We went on a Sunday evening without booking and we got a table right at the window, was lovely!
Amazing food and views and a great cocktail menu too...
Great service
We go for the view, for the cozy atmosphere and for the experience that it is to dine with this panorama. The food is good, but for a French you can not call it excellent. Small things to say about the service too (not as qualitative as the place might suggest). The night we were there, the lighting was really dim (limit impossible to read the menu),
Fantastic as always! All the staff are amazing and fully attentive of all your needs, the food is out of this world as is the wine!
Went with a friend for lunch on her birthday. Reserved a time but arrived 20 minutes early and were let in without any fuss. Served by Chisa who was very pleasant, cheerful & attentive. She even took photos of us when she noticed we were poor at selfie taking. Enjoyed the food and experience. Shame it was so cloudy so view from window table not as good as I hoped.
Most appalling service for an establishment that allows themselves a dress code.
we have been here 4 times so far and every time it was a great experience, the food is great, service as well and the view is stunning !
I would not even give this one star!
I have ulcerative colitis so I have to be very careful what I eat. I have had this for 7 years and have never ever been treated so badly. My friends were planning a trip for a special occasion at the weekend. And a menu was sent to me. Naturally I emailed them to explain and tell them the things I could not have on the menu. I did his twice and kept getting an email for me to tell them exactly what I can't eat. If you suffer with UC like me you will know that thats a long list and always depends on your flare or the individual person.
I rang a lady called Wendy up at the restaurant. She told me she needed to know Main ingredients I can't have but yet she couldn't give me details of these ingredients of any of the foods as she didn't know. She also didn't let me speak to a chef to see if I could get these ingredients. One of the foods on the menu was salmon and creme fresh on rye. I told her I couldn't have rye only white bread and this still wasn't enough information for her. I have never had this at any place I have been too. This lady was rude and spoke very loudly over the top of me and I reduced to tears on the phone as of all the times I have been abroad or eating in restaurants I have never been treated like this.
I will now be looking at my options to take further action on this matter. I suggest not to go here if you have allergies or a strict diet.
I am appalled by the way I have been treated.
Had Sunday Lunch there, good food, great views, however it was really loud within the restaurant due to all the hard surfaces and lack of noise absorption . Will defiantly go again for the food .. just next time I'll drink more so I won't care about the noise.
Very delicious food!!!!!!
My family and I visited Oblix west last weekend. We were amazed by the view!!! We been offered 2 different menues.
We liked everything in general, the Tartar was very good and (in the picture) the sharing fish starter was good as well.
The chicken was nice but not special, the lamb instead was very vice.
We waited a bit too long.
Kind waiter's.
The public bar gives a beautiful view over the city of London! For some drinks and small finger food it s a perfect place within the day or the evening. However, depending on the day the service is slow. Still, the Obelix bar is very recommendable to go to. :)
Out of the other restaurants and bars in the shard this is my favourite. Yes, it is expensive, but you are paying for the incredible skyline views over London after all. We stumbled across Oblix by accident after discovering the nearby Aqua More
Had lunch ( party if 4) on Friday 26th July. Second time we ve been. Great value from set menu with drink. Great service and spectacular views
Just as you'd expect from a restaurant of this calibre. Wonderful service and attention to detail. My only criticism is that they were slightly stingy with the pasta serving and we had to be rushed out due to the 10pm covid curfew (not the restaurant's fault obviously)
Food was good but you have sent fix amount of time to consume your meal by, so don't be late.
Rubbish food ,poor service, cold tea, no sugar or sweetener unless you ask for them at least for a few times. Over crowded. Poor atmosphere. Overall rip off for the price you pay. Can't give anyone less than one or would have done it. Would not recommend anyone. Hutong was better
Slowest bar in London? Ordered a drink and were brought a bill 20 minutes later, which prompted the arrival of our drinks. Decent Manhattan, not as premium as the price would suggest. Asked for the bill and 10 minutes later went up to the bar to pay. It was not particularly busy and the staff do a disservice to an outstanding sky scraper.
Surpassed my expectations. I'm not particularly keen on British food restaurants however this was brilliant! From starters to dessert the quality of the food was sublime. Lovely atmosphere and equally lovely staff. Would definitely go again
The sights were nice, and the waitress helpful, but it was too crowded and noisy for our taste. Also we considered that the food quality was average and it was for sure not good enough taking into account the price they ask for.
Great views, although partially obstructed by the building frame at some points and a lot of internal relection due to the glass. Amazing food, although generosity of portions varies. Amazing service.
Although the restaurant is not exactly what can be said cheap, the quality is exceptional and the views even more impressive.
The delicious starters, the pasta and the sensational chicken, with a very marked truffle flavor and very juicy chicken.
The desserts, without words.
recommendable
Amazing views. A little pricey for cheap wine but what do you expect in central London. Would definetly recommend.
The environment, service and food here are also top notch! !
The friendly staff introduced us to the best location to watch the sunset, the food was unexpectedly delicious, and the place where the beauty was seen was usually very general. The price was a bit expensive for local consumption, but it was eaten in Hong Kong. It's worth it!
Lovely food great atmosphere good service from staff. Really beautoful view and easy booking process
Try to book for the best views but you can still grab a naughty cocktail or beer. Great front of house and service. Even on a Saturday night, lovely relaxed vibe with a dj, who was playing sounds that didnt drown.
Excellent food, large portions. Friendly staff. Amazing view!
Loud and Pretentious. Style over substance. Very loud, with lots of people having to shout to be heard.
Amazing food & views...great venue for a special occasion
We had a great meal at Oblix. We had a lovely table next to the window with a view overlooking the city. Service was flawless and the food was really amazing. It's pricey, but worth it. Will definitely be back!
Disgusting service, will not be recommending again.
I brought my company on a team lunch yesterday and I was quite frankly disgusted with how we were treated.
When we arrived at Oblix we were given the al a carte menu and told we did not qualify for the set menu, as we were above 6 people. After some complaining we managed to get everyone on the menu, which again in NO way what so ever reflected the one on the website. No steak, lobster, black cod - not even any individual choice of sides, just a chefs selection to share.
We then asked to order the unlimited wine option for everyone. Again - we were told we were not eligible. And yes - you guessed it, we were not eligible for the free glass of champagne on arrival either.
This a complete damper on what should have been a celebration of success for my team.
And after all this - they had the cheek to add 13.5% service to the bill!
If the above would have been communicated clearly on the website or phone I would have chosen a different restaurant to take my team.
It seems Oblix feed potentially customers incorrect information, and when you have a deposit and card details, wait for us turn up and completely back track on expectations.
Awful experience, lost me and my company as customers for life.
Advise any company looking to entertain guests or employees to choose elsewhere. Much better places out there, who will provide a much better experience for the people you are trying to impress
I don't give 5 star ratings but very impressed with service from the Italian Bar tender and the Assistant lounge manager Edgaras thank you for being warm friendly and approachable.
Beautiful restaurant certainly not cheap but that makes you live a truly magnificent experience mixing the excellent culinary proposal with the magnificent view from the top of London ... Very friendly staff and reserved atmosphere and much sought after ... really recommended for special occasions ... and not!
