Good food but not exceptional. Poor service. Good view over London.

Good food but not exceptional. Poor service. Good view over London.
This place has a great view of London, especially in the evening. It was a little bit busy and loud, food was average and expensive.
Astonishing view, good atmosphere, nice service and food
Unfortunately there is only the view that is worth seeing and therefore to do at least once when you go to London.
It is expensive for a passable quality and a rather rough staff to see absent.
Amazing food the view was something special and the service was one of the best in London.
Lovely place with beautiful views across London. Music a little loud and restaurant a little too dark (couldn't have a proper conversation with our friends and had to use phone torch to read menu!) but food was lovely. Also recommend Touch the Rainbow cocktail!
Do not go here if you're vegan/veggie.
The only star is for the view which is obviously great, but there are plenty of other places in London you can get this.
They claim to have a vegan-friendly menu but they had mainly sides disguised as mains. I ordered the bread and olive oil, the artichoke salad and chips.
It took over an hour for our food to arrive and although we had asked for it all to be served together, the bread arrived first (with no oil) and we waited about 20 minutes to get the rest of the food.
In terms of the food, maybe it was better for my meat-eater friends but their portions still seemed very small.
The customer service was poor to say the least. Food ordered was forgotten with no apology, the staff were cold and not at all friendly.
Of course, I expected to spend money going to a place like this as it's a fancy place. But that said, when you pay these prices (including a high service charge) you expect a level of service that we just didn't receive.
Would not recommend at all.
Excellent service, the food was really good. Obviously you're paying a premium for the view and location.
My only bug bare was tourists coming up without reservations and taking photos whilst we dined. They really did not care and they was pushing behind us and cameras being used in between courses etc. It was very annoying and rude but I guess it happens all the time.
This review is specifically for the bar experience as I did not eat during my visit, however, it would really hard to rate Oblix anything less than 4 stars. Yes the service is just OK and the drinks are a bit pricey, but considering that you get a free 32nd-floor view of London, it makes the price point more than fair. It's a very open space that's modern and clean with floor to ceiling windows, which ensures a good view from almost every seat in the house. The ambient music was at a level that didn't distract from conversation, and the bathrooms were exceptional. It's definitely a spot I'll bring friends and family to visit as it satisfies the "Shard View Experience" (including a drink), for less money.
I hope readers will find my review and photos helpful.

Great place, staff were really friendly and helpful. If you wanted enjoy the views and have good cocktails it s a place to go to. Some people says it s expensive but but it s the view and the experience you pay for and it s worth it.
Magical evening, very attentive and professional staff worthy of a gourmet restaurant, offered us directly to move on the table glued to the window. Do not hesitate to ask for it when you arrive.
There is a person for each part of the menu (starter dessert wine) who will make you spend an unforgettable moment in front of this view of London West.
I will never forget my visit to this restaurant and I will return with pleasure, especially since the prices are correct for the unique setting.
The desserts are delicious and the dishes plentiful, as are the starters.
Top +++
Had afternoon tea with family. Excellent service with a choice of teas and a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with jam, clotted cream and honey, topped off with petit fours. Have as much as you like and anything left can be packed to take away
Good food and decent prices. The Vue is well worth the visit.
Very tasty cocktails. And you just can't beat the view with the live entertainment. Will definitely be back!
They treat their employees badly and don't care about them
You're paying a premium for the view and when you get placed in the middle of the restaurant the view is pretty masked so it's just like any other over priced fancy restaurant. Food was average. Staff were mixed some where really friendly but the woman that took our cloakroom ticket without even acknowledging us or smiling was pretty rude. Theres much better places to go in London!
Amazing dining experience with amazing views. The food was delicious - and the desserts was just scrumptious!!! Staff are friendly and welcoming. Beautiful decor too.
Cool bar with a nice atmosphere. The staff were attentive and they managed the numbers well to make sure it was still a comfortable environment despite being busy. The cocktails were delicious too, and of course an incredible view!
Worth the security checks to get in. Expensive but views if you get them are impressive
Incredible views and outstanding food. Would recommend for a special date night or for entertaining clients.
Stop by for a drink and enjoyed the view had the great service I expected
The restaurant is on 32nd floor of the shard, view from those huge windows is amazing. You get to see the charming skylight of London at night.
Very nice restaurant, gorgeous view. The service takes a while but the food is really good.
Little bit expensive
Lovely restaurant and bar on 32nd floor of Shard s building. Staff were great, beautiful wine selection. Food very yeasty as ginger food. Prices we very reasonable. I will recommend the places.
What a great location for that special moment. Everything looked and tasted absolutely delicious. And with the pleasure for the palate, comes a treat for the eyes as well. What a great view over all of London. I can just say that this was an all-satisfying lunch.
Beautiful experience!
I took my mum for lunch today and it was amazing! Delicious food with a stunning view. The staff has been so kind to let us sit by the window and they all took very good care of us! Thank you guys!
I love it! I had a great birthday party here! Really nice and cosy place for couple or friends.... I've recommend it already too
Excellent restaurant with a breathtaking view that I chose to make my marriage proposal.
The manager and her team were incredibly kind and moved us to the edge of the glass as soon as a table was released.
Thank you !
If I had any advice, it would be great to offer specific services for birthday / marriage proposal.
First time at The Shard, it was well worth it, very friendly staff, Gorgeous General Manager, tasty food, bread and sticky toffee pudding to die for and a view to kill, what else can a girl ask for!
Great view. Drinks choice is a bit limited if you like beer. It is very expensive but you're paying for the view. Great place for a treat.
Took my partner for his 30th, staff were fantastic. Lovely day out
Obviously great view. The starters were absolutely divine. I was a bit annoyed that the waiter convinced us that the tasting menu wasn't going to be too much food, it was definitely too much food. Also, he kept coming over again and again to ask if we wanted to order alcoholic beverages and laughed when we said we didn't.
The dishes promise contemporary enjoyment and present the development of the most modern kitchen. A fabulous view over London makes the moment perfect!
Great venue. Book in advance. Expensive but worth it. They do normal cocktails as well as the ones on the menu.
I had a great time here. The food was amazing and I ate one of the best salad in the world. The stuff is kind, the rooms are fancy and the views are stunning!
Absolutely AMAZING experience!
The view from Oblix is amazing, completely breath-taking!
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and the staff were great, and made sure our night was perfect!
A little pricey but that's to be expected!
Would 10000% recommend to others!
Do not waste your time (and money) here!!!!! Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Absolutely shocking service. We got seated an hour after our original reservation and then when our food hadn't arrived 45 minutes after we had ordered it we decided to not waste any more time and left the restaurant (it was 10:20pm by this point). The staff didn't really care and were not apologetic at all. Unfortunately they know that people will still keep coming here as it's in the Shard so they don't bother trying to be pleasant to customers.
The drinks and views are spectacular! For the amount of $ you're spending, the food does not meet the price. Tastes okay and no thought behind the presentation. Just slapped it on the plate and call it good.
It was my birthday weekend so I planned something special which was the visit to the Oblix. I'm a restaurant manager, my partner is a sous chef so we know what is expected from a good restaurant but at the same time we are understanding. To begin, service was great but because it was very busy waiting time was long. Second of all I booked the place for amazing memories and let's be honest view. Otherwise, I would not pay that price. Well, Surprise surprise because I have seen the view for literally 1 min when was going to my table which was located in a booth with a view for vine storage. I understand they can't guarantee the table next to the window but then it's ridiculous to come to such place and have no view! Then food- starters really nice, I had high hopes, the main course-was taking ages and was tasteless, barely touched it, dessert - chocolate brownie sundae was very delicious. Cocktails the most mediocre ones I had in my life. My friend didn't even drink hers. When I looked at the bill I was shocked. Anyway, I understand that there are plenty of Shard lovers but my night was just disappointing. So I came home and made my own birthday cocktail and dinner. As you can imagine it wasn't the best birthday ever.
It's a place you should definitely visit, even for a coffee. The prices are, of course, high.
Lovely view of London...sure. But horrible service, not even for dinner but for Afternoon Tea.
After having to provide a credit card number to guarantee the reservation with the threat of a cancellation fee, an email reminding me to be on time and a phone call confirming my acceptance of the reservation (complete with end time) the morning of we still show up to be shunted to some crowded tourist bar to wait since "we're backed up"
30 minutes later I have march down to the front entrance where the army of bumfuzzled front of house staff (who don't do more than stare at an iPad, send you to the bar then aimlessly run around trying to figure out who people are )a manager shows up to answer my question of how much longer a wait will be, who promptly leaves to come back 10 minutes later to say a table will be ready in 5 minutes, it was another 15 minutes where a random staffer came to seat us.
I don't care how good the view is or how good the food is, this is abysmal service. The worst I've had, I dare rank it worse than some discount airlines, but hey it wont matter to them.
Amazing service, we was served by a man called Pareis. He was amazing and treated us greatly. Food was amazing! Really impressed!!
Restaurant I The Shard with Asian-inspired food. Great view!
Visited the Oblix East in November 2019. A lovely place, tasty food but expensive n very crowded. If you're looking for a quiet night out then this restaurant is not the one for you!!! The view from the 32nd floor is absolutely wonderful though!!!
This was my birthday treat organised by my partner. Once we arrived we were lead to our table on the lodge, the views were incredible but the table and chairs not very comfortable for having dinner, the chairs were like sofas, it would have been ok for chilling having a drink, but not comfortable enough to have a meal. Another down side was the music, too loud that we had to talk very loud to listen to each other...This was a bit disappointing as my partner had rung in advance and he was told it was a very nice and relaxing area.
The service was very nice and helpful. We ordered something to nibble while waiting for our mains but we received the mains straight away so we never received the starter. We asked our waitress to cancel that for us. The food was ok, but I was expecting more for the price to be honest, I had the lamb chops and my partner the duck with mango we ordered some sides to go with out mains which were ok, but as I said I was missing out flavour.
To finish the meal we had desserts which was the best bit, my chocolate cake was wonderful and came personalised.
We enjoyed the views, and service but we would not come back as we were expecting better food and flavour, we were a bit disappointing because this was my birthday present and did not fulfill our expectations. Another
Beautiful place but rather pricey. Nevertheless very beautiful restaurant
As I have stayed in the Shangri-La and also eaten at Hu-Tong, I had high expectations for the service at Oblix. However, I was disappointed when we went for my friends graduation dinner. As a table we all mutually agreed there was a low staff morale, they worked hard but lacked enthusiasm. Mid-main course approx 3pm the restaurant was closed for staff lunch. bright red vinyl patterned wipe clean table cloths were placed on some of the restaurant tables for the staff to eat, a "canteen" style set up within the restaurant where they served liquidized mash and one sausage to each staff member(on plastic plates). We were disgusted and disappointed to see the staff being treated in this manner. The mash they were served was certainly different to the mash I was served.
I ordered sirloin steak medium rare but it was well done, so I returned it. Everybody elses food was delicious. My starter was delicious;calamari.
Unfortunately, if you do not look after your staff and take shortcuts with training staff to save money, it reflects in how the staff will deliver their service to your customers. Happy employees=Happy customers!
We went there for my 21st birthday dinner. My reservation was for 7pm but I was stuck in traffic they still kept our table. Lovely atmosphere, with very professional waiters and great food. Thank you very.
Fantastic view of London with skyline view of St Paul's Cathedral, London eye, Gherkin, Tower hall and Tower Bridge
A great place to celebrate birthday or small parties ( expensive to host many :) )
The dinner was great. One of the best cod that ilI ever tried. It is a bit pricy and the ambient isn't great. It is a good place for a business dinner, buy not for a romantic evening.
Lovely place lovely cream tea. Views are magnificent.
Very expensive. Now the food and the view were more than worth the price tag. Unfortunately though the seats are far too relaxed and we spent most of our time perched on the edge of our seats eating over a low table. I'd liken it to eating at a coffee table. It's almost like the restraunters had never actually sat in their own seats to eat! I'd save your money on the food and load up on drinks! Great bar and atmosphere
Very noisy. Many waiters talking between them but they are not concerned about the customers. Very expensive for the quality the restaurant offers the customer.
Service and food is fantastic. A little pricey but when you're visiting from afar it's fine as a one off. Great views of London, I'd recommend going for the sunset on a clear day.
Food & drink was good, but not outstanding. View is, of course, the main event and it doesn't disappoint!
Absolutely amazing good value and excellent service. Staff were amazing
Stunning location and really friendly staff. We booked in for afternoon tea and were early but we were seated in the bar area and even moved over to our table early! The afternoon tea treats are delicious!
4 stars just for drinks and lobster that saved whole situation. Steaks were the worst thing we ever tried, chef should improve his qualification immediately... atmosphere was fine and relaxing.
Amazing View!! Great food and service. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great for a special evening.
Amazing views looking over South London towards Kent & Surrey. Try Aqua Shard restaurant & Bar for better views over the Thames River, Tower of London, Tower Bridge and more. Beautiful furnishings and decor, amazing selection of drinks, food and snacks but it's the views that really make the visit worth while. Make sure to get some day light for the best views.
Unfriendly staff unless you spending lots. Ridiculous.
Reservations are definitely needed, as it gets very busy. But it is worth it! Great view, great cocktails, and very skilled mixologists
Loud intrusive music. Seating unsuited for dining in comfort. Surprisingly sloppy service for the perceived calibre of the place. We asked our waiter what a "ceviche" was on the starter menu but he didn't know except that it was a "raw thing". Some of the wines we chose were unavailable and the waiter suggested a fairly banal alternative.
My "whole lobster" was delicious but served without the big claws so it was hardly "whole" . That's contrary trade descriptions act. I would have complained big time - but we were guests of a dear friend and I didn't want to spoil the evening.
Of course the view is magnificent but if this restaurant was at ground level I don't think many people would go back.
Great place but, I wouldn't really recommend it during peak hours and for food, etc. It is, in my view, more a place for special occasions or to have a coffee during the week in a cozy place with a breathtaking view but, it is of course really expensive so, you shouldn't really go there for only the food.
Oblix West was fully booked so it became Oblix East. Also a beautiful view of London, especially the Tower Bridge. Keep in mind that they have high and low chairs (armchairs). No standard dining tables. After dinner stayed with a cocktail for a while even though our timeslot had already passed.
The sky high London view was beautiful. Their food was fantastic. I really liked the live band music.
The best view in London! Do not spend your time and money London Eye- go Oblix and have a nice cocktail and dinner
Elegance and charm of a breathtaking panorama. Good food also quite expensive. Soft lighting and friendly staff. It is a very romantic and refined place.
Phenomenal food, a great view, incredible service, and an overall fantastic time. A great way to spend a Sunday brunch.
Just got called by Oblix to say that since I have two reservations one for lunch and one for dinner in TWO months time, I have to decide now if I will be having lunch or dinner. It's 18th March 2020, they have just declared a global pandemic, I'm glad to see that people have got their priorities straight. I cancelled both of course, I doubt we'll be having either anyway to be honest, good luck with your business if this is how you manage it by the way!!
The service is deplorable and not up to par. The food is not bad but too expensive. The cocktails are good. The quality / price / service is unfavorable. You will find much better elsewhere for the same price. The view is nice. Just go for a drink and book a table near the window.
- The waitresses seem in a hurry that you release your table, but forget to bring you your cocktails and dishes.
- 1 hour waiting to be served
- the wine by the glass is not the one ordered and rather of poor quality
- the tables around you are cleaned with chemicals that pollute your dinner
- you do not have time to finish your meal that takes away your plate and your glass ...
Good food , exorbitant prices and still get hair in food lol
Really nice restaurant with great views. Food was lovely, atmosphere was great. Was here with my wife as a present from my 2 son's. Thank you 4 a great time .
