Great welcoming and nice personal, Juan was in charge with our table and he was the best, he even brought my partner a dessert when he find out we celebrate his birthday. We loved the view from the restaurant. The food is delicious and good price. Th
Nice food, afternoon tea was delicious. Amazing view as you would expect. A bit pricey, but again you expect this. What let s it down is the uncoordinated service. Had to keep asking for things, including drinks already ordered. Not very good.
Very bad experience .. NOISY , unfriendly, rude staffstaff !! Never! I do not recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fabulous food Great Service A Big WoooooooooooooooooHoooooooooooooo A Big Mush To Go
Lunch sandwiches are premade before hand and cannot be changed or amended. Poor to say it is suppose to be an icon restaurant
Visited Oblix for brunch on a Saturday .Excellent service and opted for the bottomless Chandon. Our glass was kept topped up. As our food took a while to come out, our reservation was extended by 30 minutes, which was great! Great value for money, great service and good food.
Went to Oblix east for high tea. There was six of us but they crammed us in a table for four. And there was no room for our food. Service was brisk but the food was underwhelming. Far too much sweets not enough savoury. My friends napkin More
Oblix is arguably one of London's most scenic restaurants, being on the 32nd floor of the Shard. Very varied cuisine with dishes that range and contain chef skills from all over the world, fresh, excellent meats of various nationalities, even the fish is fresh and the vegetables seem to have just been picked. very large wine cellar with labels from all over the world. Friendly staff and competent sommeliers.
The venue itself is amazing with stunning nighttime views over London. However on Saturday 13th November we were a family party of 6 in Oblix East for dinner and certainly on this occasion felt that the service left a lot to be desired. We were seated promptly - so far so good - but henceforth things deteriorated somewhat. Four of our party shared a starter of 8 crab balls which were rather dry and poorly presented with no hint of any dip or garnish. The other 2 shared a different starter which arrived at the table at least 10-15 minutes after the others had finished theirs. One of my daughters ordered the lobster with a side of French fries for which she requested some mayonnaise. This never appeared. My wife ordered a side dish with her salmon main course which, despite being asked for again and despite being told it was on its way, only appeared when she had finished the salmon. We did complain to the waiter who apologised and brought us some truffles on the house as none of us ordered a desert. The restaurant had a great buzzing atmosphere but seemed far too busy for the waiting staff and those in the kitchen to cope with the orders. Not what we were expecting for a venue with such a good reputation. A final note - according to my wife (who found a member of staff to rectify the situation) the Ladies' toilets had run out of toilet paper half way through the evening. - Perhaps at such a busy time the toilets should have been checked more regularly ? This was a special 40th wedding anniversary family treat and what should have been a fabulous evening was marred by the haphazard arrival of the food in a very expensive restaurant.
Tourist trap. Great views. Horrible service. Not worth it.
Just love visiting Oblix. Yummy Sunday lunch with the fab veiws of London & a glass of fizz. The choice of desert's is mind blowing. If your looking for a night out though you should arrive early enough to enjoy the veiws and enjoy table service, cocktails and amazing live music. Its the best spot in London!!
The place was amazing. A must for any foodie. Spectacular views of London too.
Just awesome. The food was fantastic and we had a great waitress. Goods with 10 people there. Everything worked out great.
Great view, great cocktails. Very much enjoyed the live music. Stuff is nice and friendly. Perfect place for the first Tinder date :)
Had a really nice experience here. The view was excellent, if you're visiting the Tower Bridge, make a stop to this bar, you wont regret it. They do charge a 13.5% service fee on top of your bill. I ordered the Jonny Walker cocktail "The Polaris", it was incredible.
Beautiful view, nice food and pretty reasonable prices for drinks considering London
We went here for our 1 year annaversary. Amazing food and top service. I feared it could have been a little pretentious given where it is, but the quality and size of the meal was spot on. Would highly reccomend for a special meal.
Very nice restaurant with an amazing view. Delicious food and wine, and lovely staff!
Location super cool, the drinks are a bit few. I would expect a bit more for the price.
Amazing views which are best viewed on a clear night. The cocktails are outrageously expensive though. I'd recommend popping up for the view and then going to a cheaper local pub for drinks.
Food really wasn t that great at Oblix east/west. Cold steaks and sides. Atmosphere very loud. Beautiful view. Staff friendly and attentive and manager sorted the bill for the poor food. Good cocktail menu.
I went for my mums birthday. It was nice we were seated next to the window. However we had a booking which was 2 hours and we got our starters at 7pm and never had our main course till 8.15pm. We had to ask our server what was happening which then he relayed that there was a problem. With such a restaurant providing 5* service that was really disappointing at the fact they knew our meal would be delayed and nothing was offered so we wasn't starving not even bread and butter which they serve as appetizers. Overall disappointing experience simply because of the service however the food was lovely.
Amazing food, Amazing atmosphere. The lady who looked after us Raluca was amazing and treated us as it was our birthday. Hope to come again soon
We went for my dad's 70th birthday. The food was fine, quite overpriced for the quality you got. Which I wouldnt mind if the rest of the experience was good. However the service was what really let the experience down. I had called up More
I ve been to every restaurant and bar in the shard and I can honestly say Oblix West was the best out of all of them. I want to start off by saying Simona was an amazing host and thank you for making my experience special. Food and drinks were great... views at night would be beautiful and very romantic. Would Definitely recommend Oblix West. Thank you
Well worth a visit even if the prices are a bit steep.
Shocking service accompanied over priced average food. They couldn t even get an order for a gin & tonic and a coke right! The staff gave the impression that you where just on a conveyor belt for more covers. Would not recommend.
Well I must start with the view ITS AMAZING the food was terrible and I mean terrible. We was told no flip flops or shorts (standard) however once we had been seated we notice a woman in shorts and flip flops THEN NOTICE SHE ONLY HAD HER DOG WITH HER (no guide dog) it seems it s who you know not what you know. The services was ok but I was so disappointed In the food
Don't go to Oblix expecting great food. The interior of Oblix is very nice and the panoramic views over London are stunning. However, if you desire interesting delicious dinner I would advise to go elsewhere. For starters I had crab with batter and chilli mayonnaise. The dish was probably the best we got that night although the batter was quite heavy for the delicate raw material and the chilli mayonnaise was a rather cheap condiment for a nice restaurant. My main course was a disaster. I ordered barbequed blad cod with coriander salsa. The fish itself wasn't too bad but the bbq sauce was just salty and lacked complexity and the whole dish lacked that barbecued aroma entirely. The worst performance was the "coriander salsa" (sorry about the image quality). It was tin corn with a bit of coriander sprinkled on top. In my opinion, okay fit for an M4 service station diner but not for a proper restaurant. The staff were friendly but when they noticed I was underwhelmed by my main course, they offered to change it as they usually do. I did not feel like trying anything else from their menu so I just told them it wasn't necessary. After that almost all staff came one after another to our table asking the same question. The whole scene made me a little uncomfortable despite their intentions. The view is the only reason to go to Oblix. Go for a drink or maybe a light lunch but not expect a great dining experience. Oblix is a London equivalent to restaurant on a touristy piazza, disappointing and pricey food with a view. The view also comes with a little negative: if you sit by the window people are taking pictures left and right. And yes, I do realise the irony of this complaining about this, but the view is very good.
I believe the reason the staff are incompetent and rude, it is either because the staff are tired and not treated well by the management, or the restaurant cannot find better staff as the good ones would leave.
Had a very enjoyable experience here. The restaurant really is an amazing place and the views across east London and the Thames are incredible from here. We had a nice table next to the window and the service was quick and very efficient and the staff were very friendly and helpful, from being greeted at street level to being seated. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere here. The Drinks though are massively overpriced so most people like us chose to drink tap water or else your bill can very easily double. The food is average and nothing special however the whole experience is worth the inflated prices for a special treat or occasion, I would recommend.
My husband and I went here doe dinner while on our honeymoon in November of 2019 and it was perfect. We had no reservation but arrived eight before dinner and they found us a table for 2 right by the window. It was dark outside and you could see all of london lit up, making the perfect backdrop for our romantic dinner. Juan was our server and just made our night so special! His recommendations were spot on, the drinks were exquisite, the bread, pork chop, lamb, mashed potatoes, green beans, and dessert were some of the best and I highly recommend every dish! The staff showed the best hospitality and we were able to have after dinner drinks while watching the Tower Bridge from 32 stories up. I cannot say enough about how accommodating the managers and wait staff were, thank you for the perfect dining experience!!!!
Superb view, the lemon octopus with avocado is really delicious! The cocktails are very good and generous, the rest of the dishes too. The servers are very friendly. Beautiful area!
You're going up to this place for the view. We were luckily seated next to the window with a perfect view of tower bridge. The atmosphere was also great. They had a couple singers and a band during dinner which added a good vibe. Food and cocktails are good, not great. At the price you'd expect more and will get more at higher end restaurants not on top of the shard. You are paying for the name. Service was below average. When being served they're great but disorganised due to the being busy. They either need more staff or a better system. All and all I think it's worth coming at least once especially if you don't want to pay shard entry fees and is nice for a special occasion. Do not come here for value or high end quality though.
Personally, I would advise to eat elsewhere, the service was poor, we constantly had to repeat requests for table condiments (they didn't have any mint sauce for the lamb roast lunch). To note, paying 13.5% service charge (which equated to More
Restaurant with the best views of London. Food expensive, but it's worth it for dinner seeing all of London illuminated.
I ushered in the New Year 2019 in the best way possible: a romantic dinner on the 1st of January w/ my Girlfriend overlooking the magnificent London s skyline from the Oblix East posh restaurant at the 32nd Floor of The Shard (London More
Good ambience, good food, nice music, can also enjoy great view of London City from inside.
Nice view but the food was awfull not for me I'm afraid. Over priced drink. Can say Ive been and done it but won't return
Beautiful location, great food, terrible waitress. Didn't deserve the discretionary service charge.
Lovely food and lovely views! Handled request for wife's bday well. Good service by our waiter. Tip. If going on a weekday for lunch arrive a bit early around noon to get your choice of tables!
Food and service is brilliant. Price is a little steep! Good atmosphere though
Awful !!! Do not recommend, went out for dinner and as soon as we walked in it was extremely crowed. The environment was uncomfortable, music playing at a level which was way to high which causes people to have to talk at a high level. You can't hear a word anyone is saying and constantly have to repeat yourself. Only alcoholic drinks served on the menu with no option for any cool drinks unless you ask. Highly overpriced for food and drinks which were nothing special. Tables are so small there's not enough room space. Way overpriced better off going macdonals.
Excellent service, very delicious food and the view of the place is stunning. It is very worth it .
The location of the restaurant is awesome! Amazing view Worth coming for a drink or something to eat Moshe 6 light for the atmosphere. The food is less tasty.
Going there on 15th feb with my wife for xmass present have been told by many people it is fantastick
The busy bar and the fantastic view - that's what you go for!
Had lunch with my family for my sisters 21st! The brunch was amazing and the service was unreal! Our waiter was call Kevin and his service was the best!! Thankyou, will definitely be returning when we can.
Great view! Delicious food. The operation was a bit annoying and the volume is already at a stress level.
Loud music making a noise place with people talking loudly to be heard. Service is sloppy, but charges 13.5%, go figure. Food is good. The view is nice, but for that there are better places.
Amazing views, service great, food very very good ...we will definitely be brunching here again.
If you get the chance to eat here, you have to. The food was amazing! One of the best steaks I have ever had, and the view is breathtaking.
Amazing food, great service. The ambiance is great. The view is unreal.
I like it very much, it tastes good and the scenery is very good. I look forward to coming back next time.
We went for my mother's 50th birthday and although I have informed the reservation girl I spoke to, they didn't bother to give us a table next to the window. It was very loud probably because the ceilings are too low and we could barely hear each other. Felt more like a fast food restaurant. We were not too impressed with the food which was ok but not that good for the prices. Staff was ok but some of the waiters were a bit too much into our faces by constantly asking if we needed anything. Definitely not a place to go for a special occasion.
I have been prior and loved the experience. However, yesterday was a completely different experience.. and NOT a good one. We came in as a group of 4 and asked to taste a certain wine. The wine connoisseur or whoever he is, was unbelievably degrading and rude. The whole group and myself were shocked! I will now NEVER come back, and bare in mind that I am from central London, therefore, I know a lot of people who I will pass this bad experience on to.. so disappointing. This is meant to be a 5* experience.
If you want your special occasion ruined, look no further! I should have complained while there, but was trying to stay positive and enjoy my birthday dinner, however Oblix has exceeded every expectation of how a bad dinner could go. More
Lovely food great views pity it was foggy a bit pricey very good service
Incredible the English Tea. A bit of an expensive treat, but worth it
Very poor overall experience, from booking through welcome to service and food. Will never go back. And on top of it, far too expensive. You can find so much better in London for much much cheaper.
The perfect place for breakfast, lunch or dinner, for a drink and the view!
After waiting a long time for our main course, as soon as we'd finished eating, we were told we'd have to vacate our table and have coffee and dessert at the bar. This is not how we would expect to be treated at such an establishment.
Excellent food, service, ambience and of course, views
Amazing venue, great atmosphere and very impressive food/drink.
After 18h you must be in evening wear to be able to have a drink ... Too bad.
As a birthday surprise, my wife booked a table for us at The Oblix restaurant. Upon exiting the lift, we were greeted by highly organised, friendly staff who confirmed our reservations and checked in our coats. Since we were early for our table reservation we were shown to the lounge area to enjoy a couple of relaxing drinks and just take in the wonderful view of night-time London from 32 floors up. Later on, we were fortunate to have a window seat in the restaurant with other diners not being so fortunate to be able to enjoy the view from such a prime location. The food is of a high quality and I can recommend their Rib Eye steak; rare to medium. But let s be honest, the real reason people visit is the spectacular view and you will not be disappointed. A big thank you goes to Justin our waiter, who is not only a dynamo, but also most personable and professional . Finally, do not be embarrassed to request that the exorbitant 13.5 % discretionary service charge be removed from the bill stating that you wish to personally give the staff member the tip of your choosing; this ensures that they receive the gratuity and not the restaurant.
Really great experience, pretty expensive but the cocktails are worth it, amazing view of London, incredible by night.
Food was good. However it didn't have much going for it in terms of atmosphere or interior design.
Great place to be, customer service is good. The bars are great as well, top quality drinks. The kitchen though and the menu could be improved. Not a truly gourmet taste for the money you spend. I am not a professional chef but I could have done my fish much better to be honest. I was expecting 5 stars for the kitchen but here we go - 4 from me and I think it's more than fair.
Used to be dead classy and posh but there lettin in to many groupon type people for my liking. They just don t know how to behave in a place with as much history and prestige as Oblix in the shard. Which is a shame cause there Prosecco and nachos nights were the reason I come to town.
We started our night with an extreme noise and crowd in the restaurant, which no one seems to not bothered by the uncomfortable acoustics. We were a little frustrated and planning to leave. Lucky enough to get a lady who was able to help us to change to a table by the window with less noise. Though the food was a little pricy, but they were very delicious and fresh. We had full course meals and non of them disappoint us. My parents were delighted with the overall experience. The restaurant allows you to walk through the other side to Oblix East for bar and snacks. Friendly and well trained staff, and cloakroom service is available for guests. This place is only allow for guests who has booking. Highly suggested to go just before sunset, it was really great to enjoy the view in both and night.
I have only been here for drinks, so I can't say anything about the food. As far as drinks go, this place is an experience, from the dim lit entrance to the large blocks of ice at the bar.
Overrated, overpriced, slow service. We managed to get a table next to the window which was nice. Food is pricey, tastes ok but nothing special, small portion. Service was slow, main arrived an hour after we sat down. After we finished, we had to wait 25min to get the waiter's attention so we can order dessert. He took our order and in 2min he came back and asked us to leave the table and sit somewhere else (15min before our 2hour slot was up!). We got so annoyed that we just left without having any dessert.
A delicious afternoon tea. Lovely atmosphere, amazing views and friendly staff.
Went for my wife's birthday. The views are amazing and the restaurant feels very modern. There is a great selection of food and drinks and the service was good. I recommend the seafood platter - Would go again.
food is what you'd expect, view is nice, staff is ok go there to impress your companion(s)
