I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms were newly renovated in Spring 2016. And I was one of the first 100 people to stay there. Excellent views and friendly/helpful service. Would definitely stay here again.

Clean Marriott attached to conference center. Heavy security everywhere, even codes to use bathrooms. It is centrally located in Oakland and convenient to OAK. Until Oakland city works on crime and homelessness, not a neighborhood comfortable to walk around in. Has all the gr8 amenities of a Marriott and spent most of my time at the M Lounge. Courteous staff. High valet rates.

Recently renovated hotel situated in an enjoyable part of Oakland (near Chinatown and Swan's Market for good eats). Most Marriotts tend to blend together in my mind in terms of service and decor, but this one is probably in the mid to upper tier in that mishmash of hotels.

I love this Marriott so much. Beds are comfy, location is super convenient and staff go above and beyond (for example, the bellhop offered to buy me stamps and pop my envelopes in the mail!). The breakfast for members is also fantastic

Always a great experience when we stay at the Marriott hotel but I just wanted to say a special thank you to the staff at this hotel for being super friendly, courteous and insightful about things to do around Oakland.

I received 6:30am wake-up calls when I did not request one. I asked to change my room because I kept hearing the elevator going up and down due to my room was by the elevator shaft. I was told that they would change my room, but they never did, so I just checked out a day early. I did not enjoy my stay.

This rating is more for the bar than the entire hotel. They made my burger wrong and it was ice cold and my fries were stale. The bartender was snarky and generally unfriendly. The IPA I got was great though. The hotel interior was beautiful however trying to fit a full size comic con in there was a mistake on their part, very unconfortable.

Had a very comfortable stay. The rooms have modern decor, which was also very cosy. Forgot some of my toiletries but the front desk had all my requested items brought for me. There is a subway station (BART) right across the street and Jack London Square is walking distance from the hotel.

Location is for business, not appropriate for leis. However, it is a great location experiencing history of Oakland and Chinese community. Walking distance to a small but very Cantonese community. Lot of traditional styles of Chinese restaurants. I went to Baby Cafe Oakland where services very Hong Kong styled of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prices are fair in terms of the portions and quality. The restaurant environment really sent me back to 1990 era.

As a Dartmouth College graduate, motivational speaker and Sports Consultant, I understand how important a role environment plays in productivity. For this reason, Americans should always think about The Marriott as their preferred choice of hotel. It's why I recently contacted them looking to make them the official stay for visitors to my public speaking events.

Good hotel. Nothing outstanding, but it was clean, comfortable, had everything I needed. I needed late check-out and was refused 3 times on the phone, but got it when talking to receptionist in person -- that's why I removed one star.

Rooms were nive seems good value for the price. Some nice details like internet ready tv that works well even came with free HBO go. Nive lighting details like led bar at top of bed headboard. There was a ton of USB and standard power plugs around the room. Checkout was fast when there is not much of a line at front desk. One of the vending machines by the convention center had about 8 interesting drink options listed but none were actually available for me to try them out.

Very centrally located and only steps from BART. I was here attending a conference and the experience was top notch - great food, plenty of refreshments, pleasant employees, and very clean. I'd recommend this location to any company in need of a large event space.

Hospitality was great, Tony took care of me and my wife. Our room had a fantastic view. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the location. The surrounding area is a little shady.

Service was great! From the moment we checked in it seemed like everyone couldn't do enough to help with anything and everything, even though nothing was wrong. It didn't matter who we asked for whatever we inquired about, from the maids to the front desk, they had an answer that was helpful and correct. I would recommend this hotel to everyone! Very nice and pleasant stay.

Booked a room here to attend a concert at Oracle Arena. The concierge at check-in was was awesome and so helpful for a first time visitor to the city, especially with BART. The room met or exceeded our expectations; our biggest complaint was the bathroom lacked a fan. Food from the hotel restaurant Iron and Oak was mediocre, but they do have a few local breweries on tap. Valet parking was quick and courteous.

I work in this industry and I must say that I have never had a more inspiring and comfortable stay. Every detail was marvelous. I even began to look for reasons to complain to no avail. My king room had welcoming low ceilings, fantastic mood lighting, and was exceptionally clean and well built. I was in awe of the attention to detail and the truly artistic experience that was rendered for my stay.

Meh. This hotel is centrally located within downtown Oakland and although it's hard to expect much from any hotel nowadays, I still love most Marriotts I visit. The front desk at this hotel stands out compared to the rest of it, although it still feels slightly run down or under attack so-to-speak.

The room itself was a decent hotel room. Clean and no complaints, although they did hide the ice bucket in a cabinet so I ended up filling a trashcan with ice for cooling my champagne. I'm classy, I know. The best thing about the room was that it faced West so my window view was directly facing San Francisco. I could see both bridges and it was a beautiful clear day.

I didn't get a chance to check out the restaurant within the hotel but something tells me I wasn't missing much. Would I stay here again?... Sure, but if I had a choice I'd probably try somewhere else.

For an inner city hotel this place is uniquely quiet. There is no road noise whatsoever which was unexpected. The staff are great during check in and helped me with a very early arrival time, 10.30am. The room was immaculately turned out and although small it was perfectly adequate. The shower is also wonderful nothing worse than a bad shower head right? Beds are softer than usual which was perfect. I don t like super hard beds. The Iron & Oak restaurant on level 2 does a great fish and chips with helpful staff and pleasant ambience. I didn t experience the parking as I used Lyft but I am sure that would be excellent too. A great stay and I will be back here for sure.

Clean and great location. Decent rooms but did have an issue upon checkin. We were assigned a room that was alway occupied. Good thing no one was in the room when we walked in. Also the room we were assigned did have a better view but all day and night sounded like someone was rolling a cart above us All day and night.

Hotel staff is responsive. I've been as an overnight guest and for drinks at the bar. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. Location is great since it's across the street from BART and a grocery store is across the street with shops in old Oakland just a couple blocks away.

Merely discussing the concierge lounge that's available to platinum + members.

I thought it wouldn't be nice because the exterior and lobby of the hotel kinda sucks. But, the lounge is newly renovated. They offer snacks, fruit, a cheese and meat plate, a soup , a salad and a meat entree. I enjoyed all the dishes; the chicken ginger soup had real large pieces of ginger. I was surprised but how large, modern and well served it was.

The Marriott is a great space. I came to pick up a packet for a 5k Run. There was another event going on and the signs to direct guests were clear. I have not stayed in a room here, so I cannot speak to that. I think the murals outside are great and embodies the spirit of downtown and Chinatown. This area is always busy since it's near BART and a lot of AC Transit buses. There are lots of restaurants and coffee shops as well. If you have a conference here, it's a good space and Marriott hosts all the time.

Room was tastefully decorated. No cheesy pictures on the walls. The art that was there went well with the decor. Even had a daybed. There aren't very many nice hotels to choose from in Oakland, but the Marriott will do just fine.
