Nicely updated room though the room is pie shaped so some areas feel small, like the bathroom. Nice views from our room on the 15th floor. Friendly staff. The Peets coffee next door is very convenient. Overall solid accommodation, just wish the room was more square and less pie shaped to make things like closing the bathroom door easier.

Loved the place. Great lounge, nice new rooms with beautiful decor and views. Also had USB plugs by the bed.

Hiked my rate daily though which was a bit crazy, apparently on the confirmation.

Well appointed hotel, upgraded rooms with lots of USB ports. Staff and service spot on. Mobile check in did not work, front desk check in staff was being trained. Trainee remembered my name 2 days later wow. Food was good and hot. The M club not as good as other location like Los Angeles airport or San Francisco airport. All of the refrigerators were locked, had to ask for water and soda. Really... and the water dispenser was broke, go figure... Could not access M club after hours on on the closed days like in other hotels. sometimes you just want to get out of your room and the M Club was perfect for that.

Very frustrating that all of the restrooms on the first and second floors have to remain locked. Last time I stayed here the fire alarm went off and they made us pay our bar tab before forcing us to evacuate. Really sad.

They gave kids beach balls to play with at check in, that was nice. Parking rates are deceptive, so call to verify. They do charge for EVERYTHING as other reviews state, so beware. Also, if you leave anything in a drawer on accident, it will get tossed in garbage or taken. So sad; wish I had not made that mistake.

Stayed at this location for 5 nights early March 2019: I'd give 5 stars to the hotel if google review separated the rating by topic, but it isn't. The staff is really great (especially the cleaning crew) and the hotel is nice. It is incredibly close to the BART station.

So why did I give 3 stars? 1) The area depending on the direction you walk can be ***dangerous*** if you don t move in medium size groups. There is a police station very close, but that doesn t seem to help with aggressive beggars. Being out in the area past dusk as the local traveler sites warn is highly discouraged. 2) The restaurant on the second floor employs some individuals who very obviously don t like their job. My wife (a vegetarian) is always very clear and vocal with her requirements (no meat) as we live from Dallas and vegetarians can have trouble. We were told by the front staff to call in and pick up food before our conference started (as they do not have room service). The individual(S) on the phone were very short with my wife, said they got the order and placed my wife on hold multiple times. We went down, paid, grabbed our food and brought the breakfast up to our room .freaking bacon ..on everything! Here s the thing, they could have simply correct the error but they didn t .. My wife went back down and the woman who helped her told her that she ordered that bacon on her sandwich and acted like it was her fault for not wanting it. They said they d credit our card which we later found out they didn t as we checked out. The front desk fixed it .but we did NOT have a great experience which is a shame because the rest of the staff are awesome.

The rooms are nice but I was given an ADA room so some elements of my room was not comfortable to me such as having a seat in my tub. Another downside of my room was that I could hear the elevators zooming up and down the whole night from my room as if my wall was right up against the elevator shaft.

Awesome guest services, great club lounge with attendance that work hard to keep guest happy. Located just a few blocks from Jack London Square and just steps from the BART station. I will be back!

Was there for weekend conference but stayed with friends, so I have no opinion on hotel rooms. Being vegan, I had requested a special meal for lunch, and it looked & tasted delicious! Everyone started out with a crisp green salad. My veg entree had a portobello mushroom on top and thick eggplant on the bottom that gave the appearance of a hamburger bun; the spinach, squash, peppers, & whatever else was in there had a wonderful taste. Also on the plate were what appeared to me to be some garbanzo beans in a tomato-ish sauce; they, too, were tasty. In addition, the servers were friendly and gracious, both with table service on Saturday and the self-serve buffet on Sunday. The only reason I didn't give a 5 was that they don't run a shuttle to Oakland Airport.

Great

Stayed at this hotel for a conference and couldn't be happier. I was able to check in early, they recognized my status with them and were extremely kind. The hotel space and the rooms are updated nicely and feel modern bit still comfortable. I would definitely recommend!

My meeting at the Oakland Marriott City Center was smooth and efficient. All of the associates we're helpful and hospitable. It took me a while to find parking. I would definitely be interested in returning for meeting and functions.

The hotel itself was gorgeous, and all the services I used were excellent! Wi-fi was smooth, food was good, and housekeeping was timely and well done. I also liked that the convention center's parking garage was included in our stay. Otherwise we would've had to pay $45/night for a spot! Location is convenient for those who want to explore Chinatown and Old Oakland, where delicious food can be found. If for any reason I need to book a hotel in the city center again, this would be my first choice.

If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit RoomBuIIy. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!

Room was tastefully decorated. No cheesy pictures on the walls. The art that was there went well with the decor. Even had a daybed. There aren't very many nice hotels to choose from in Oakland, but the Marriott will do just fine.

The staff is more than professional and the rooms are luxurious. The iron and oak restaurant inside has decent breakfast at a reasonable rate. While I'm an elite member so I do get those benefits, this hotel is definitely a cut above!
