Neat place to stay. Great breakfast buffet you have to pay for. Bart is right outside. Jack London square is 11 blocks awsy
One thing I always look for is water pressure... its definitely on point here. Otherwise, its located in the center of everything imaginable. And the rooms are very well maintained!!
Went there for the Career Expo Event held by Oakland Unified School District. It was excellent great service as well as directions that were given. Appreciate the efforts especially with inspiring/empowering the youth!
Great location, parking is difficult. Rooms were clean, good food at the lounge.
I wasn't allowed to wait 20 minutes in the lobby until my office opened at 8 am.
Terriffic location being right across the street from the 12st Oakland station. Not much in the way of entertainment in the area, but Old Town Oakland isn't half bad. Jack London square is overrated. Way cheaper that hotels on the Pennisula and only 10 minutes via BART.
(sponsored review) Decent convention venue. Comfortable seating and a good number of water coolers scattered around and kept filled.
Friendly staff. Nice rooms and atmosphere. No more room service.
If you go here, I hope you have deep pockets! 45$ a day to park your car, and they charge 40$ for breakfast, plus 300$ a night!
I m very disappointed in this Marriott!
They won t se me(or my dollars) again
They need to be more proactive on the parking rates. $25/8hrs is high even for SFO.
Place is near bart. Cheap dim sum near the area a plus. Cool Bar. Over all nice bang for buck.
Pretty place not the best area but it's ok if you don't go walking at night
Lovely accommodations attached to the convention center in the heart of downtown.
Great venue, accommodating staff, and very convenient location.
Great room with good view. Quick check in and out. Nice hot showers with good water pressure. Great proximity to dining. Fast internet in the room. Very big TV.
Really nice hotel and friendly staff. Close to everything
Oakland is not a place to go if you are an tourist! If going to San Francisco, book hotel in San Francisco! TRUST ME ON THIS! What you save at staying in Oakland is really not worth the effort. And by the way.. Oakland is gangland with high crime statistics
The interior looks very nice, and the bathrooms are really clean
This review is a bit random, but I still wanted to leave it. This hotel is the least ADA compliant hotel I've ever been to. Another side note is that the room service we ordered was sub par. Would not recommend the charcuterie platter, as it had some odd cheeses (although we did order other items that were decent). Overall, it's a good place to stay in Oakland if you eat out and don't mind an extremely small bathroom.
Service was excellent. Rooms are very dark. Restaurant breakfast is good but is ridiculously priced
The event was very easy to find due to the corner location of the Marriott. Parking was kinda just limited to street parking, but the meters stopped at 6 PM, so that was cool. Also the food was excellent!
The hotel was great, centrally located and easily accessible. As with any where in the city parking was expensive, $35 a night. Not a lot of food options inside the hotel but many within walking distance. The rooms were nice, our big screen TV was gigantic, but the furnishings were a bit outdated. I believe renovations are going on as we heard a noise in the morning.
Rooms had a nice view. Place was clean. Coffeee and tea were free but water wasn't.
Just here to drop off a rental car. The lobby looks a little dated. Lobby bathrooms require a key code.
Quick check in. Nice 2nd floor bar with good selections of quick bites and drinks.
Great hotel experience. Clean, well-managed, great facilities, wonderful staff. Kristoffer at the front desk answered all of my questions, directed me to restaurants, and was above and beyond accommodating and helpful. Thank you for making a business trip all that much easier!
Hotel is nice and clean. Room was big and had a large tv.
Came here for a conference, the rooms are easy to find and everything was labeled well. The staff was also great with providing directions.
The hotel was nice and clean. I was disappointed to find the mini refrigerator was not stocked. The buffet was adequate, with desert being the best part of the buffet.
As a place for a conference-this place is adequate for a medium sized conference. It's easy to navigate because most rooms are very close together. The rooms are small, and the hallways are extremely cramped. The plus? Easy access to accommodations and transportation.
Convention hall and bathrooms were nice and well kept up. Unfortunately all drinking fountains in convention hall were not working which was rather annoying
Keep in mind as. Soon as you exit the building you are met with homeless people, which happen to sleep on the building and fecal matter. But once you are on the inside the building is modern and professional.
Went to San Francisco Comic Con here. Nice event space. Just the right size for how many people attended. Hope it's hosted there next year.
Excellent location! Across the street from a BART station, up the street from many restaurants. Stylish renovated rooms, and a great bar & lounge for a night in. The bar takes a while to get food but is good. The WiFi is $9.95 a day or $13.95 for enhanced speed.
I haven't stayed in a room but I've used their event space numerous times. Good staff to help Event Directors all the way.
Awesome location. Check out Shong Dong and the Trappist when here.
Renovated rooms are nice. Beds are comfy and pillows are good. I don't really care for the area but the hotel itself is clean and friendly.
I can't say enough about how fantastic this place has been to me over the years. Words can not express my most tremendous appreciation of you all.
Everything for us from the front desk staff with Farida, Sylvia, Cezar, and Liz, to our crucial VIP Trish. They all keep things running smoothly with our rooming list.
The security team was fantastic, with Kathy, Asia, Feo, Carlo, Lee, and Rene, genuinely looking out for each of our moves, our security checks, and the fantastic responsiveness we needed to move things in and out of the hotel.
The engineering team with Greg, Michael, and Irwin, we were able to move things around, handle connections, and work efficiently during our setup.
Lastly, Elaine, Imay, Alley, and others added the most beautiful dining experience during such a challenging time. They took such good care of us, made us feel special, and focused on superior customer service and coordination between their teams. HUGE KUDOS MARRIOTT TEAM!!!!
Stayed there for a raiders game in the honeymoon suite and it was fabulous
The surrounding area seems to be a dangerous area, but the hotel felt relatively safe. The price of the hotel was cheaper, but not recommended for people using public transportation without car. Unlike San Francisco, there are very few people walking around, most of them in the car. It feels dangerous to walk around.
In OAKLND today it was a nice ride from Fremont on the bart.I was suppose to be at the Dentist.Didnt make it on time.So I enjoy the rest of the day.Took a few picture DOWNTOWN OAKLAND GO TRY IT BEATUIFUL CITY. Merry Xmas FACESBOOK.
Average Marriott conveniently located in downtown Oakland. Walking distance to Jack London or 19th St. Above average gym for a hotel which is a big plus. Although one dumbbell has been missing for at least 3 months.
Great service, fantastic rooms and a friendly atmosphere make this a fantastic place to stay in Oakland
Its ok, might stay there again. Very confusing though as they have two locations right next to each other.
Stopped there to meet with someone over drinks. Drinks were too expensive but ambience and view were nice.
This past week I was here for a conference and they hotel staff messed up a lot on our reservations. This was the only drawback to my stay here. The recently renovated rooms are really nice and the hotel staff as well. It's also in a great location to walk to multiple food and bar spots.
Good meeting workspace. We are conducting our all company meeting for 900 people there.
Top floor is the practice coutts for the golden state warriors 6 courts on the hotel in total !
Nice clean hotel. Rooms are decently sized. Wish there were more choices at the restaurant/bar but there are plenty of places to walk too.
The front desk receptionist named Michael was a phenomenal host. He had great customer service and conversations. The overall interiors of the hotel and bedrooms very a esthetically pleasing. The designers did a great job representing the bay area, especially oakland iconic features. The room were clean and I had a wonderful experience overall.
Is a very nice place . Very clean, room's are small but nice and clean. I recommend this hotel to my friends.
Good service, great elevated room with city view but uncertain downtown city env
I was not a guest, but I had to leave a review. I walked back and forth to find the UPS store and the gentlemen outside told me it's on the second floor. I came back down with my package and told him they wanted to charge me $8 for drop off fee when it was a prepaid label. He kindly went out of his way to walk me to the drop off box at the Smart & Final parking lot. Thank you so much for your kind service!
It was very nice and clean. The staff was attentive to needs and questions. It is has an elegance that many other hotels do not have.
Everything was great after a long day's travel. Thank you Tommy in the restaurant for the wonderful service.
