Very nice experience while attended a meeting there.
Very nice experience while attended a meeting there.
Very friendly staff. Excellent food. Very good hotel in Oakland. Good view from our room as well.
Excellent customer service and amazingly beautiful rooms filled with art
The staff was really nice and the suite pretty spectacular
Even during the strike they maintained good service.
The hotel is mediocre at best. Over priced, run down conference area and service is less than stellar. More so CHECK your bill. I run conferences and expo's and I had many guests at my conference who stayed at the event that had to dispute their bill. I also had thousands of dollars on our conference banquet orders I am still disputing. The disputes are still in progress and it has become clear there are ethical business issues at this hotel venue.
This is definitely a business hotel and not what I would consider a Marriott experience - there was saran wrap on the smoke detectors (that they never came to remove after we complained about it), they charged us for the wi-fi even though we used the free option (which really wasn't completely free as we had to join Bonvoy), the service at the front desk was slow, as was the valet service.
But...the rooms were clean and in good repair, the food at the restaurant was good and the housekeeping staff was very friendly.
Everything seemed nice, the lighting in the room felt dark though
Great location, close to bart. Hotel staff is friendly. Nice rooms.
The hotel is very accessible. I've stayed maybe once without any issues or incidents which is what I expect of the Marriott franchise.
Great service, recently renovated rooms, friendly staff.
Nice fitness center. The front desk staff and others were very helpful. The restaurant is good -- some pricey and some reasonable.
Lots of meeting space. Big parking garage. Convenient location.
Wonderful room. The view was amazing. Staff was friendly and professional.
Awesome atmosphere terrific service and strong drinks
Just in for a beading class. As always, facility was very clean, bathrooms in particular very nice! Water was provided in each room. Experience could be improved if one didn't need to leave the hotel to get a reasonable latte!
Location, staff and setting is good. Sterile feeling.
They decided to shut down and/or reduce their services because of the conference running this week. That isn't how a hotel works. You don't cancel the room service and other amenities you advertise and charge for whenever you are a little busy.
If you're looking for a place to schedule a conference, don't come here. If the rugpull of amenities isn't enough to deter you, consider the constant sirens (avg one every hour?) and the homeless crackheads living two blocks away who literally roll their carts of garbage in front of the hotel and chase people across the street threatening them because of the voices in their head. That part is pretty cool too.
But wait, there's more! They set off the fire alarm in our room in mid morning, a siren that seems to indicate the end of the world. Apparently it was a routine test. Good thing they didn't warn us, or do something stupid like wait for the damn afternoon. Every day here provides new and exciting frustrations.
Good place for a medium sized conference. Staff was very attentive.
We stayed here for one night. The room is awesome, had a really nice sleep. Sadly, most of the stores around the hotel closes at 6pm. Overall stay is amazing.
The service was good, the staffing too. The restaurant on the 2nd floor is also good.
Friendly staff. I had been packing up a friend's house all day and i was looking kind of Grundy. I wouldn't blame the staff if they were less than nice. But it seamed like they knew how my day was going and made sure my requests were met and exceeded. And the room was very comfortable
Dropping off gift bag for friends staying here. Service was good
Nice, clean and great service. The rooms are comfortable and good location.
Had an issue work then having it under the wrong name but after that it was a great stay.
Parking valet joy rides your car. Watch out! If you have a high performance/luxury car, think twice about handing the keys over. They damaged my gear shifter and took NO responsibility for it. Gave me the run around for weeks . Better yet, DO NOT park your car there.
Only ever here for conferences. Always clean with a decent box lunch.
Nice place to stay as long as i have known this place. Good food and events are always available.
Spacious rooms with great view of bay of you get a higher floor. Convention center is attached and near Bart.
Great location. Recently renovated rooms were well designed and so comfortable. The beds were so good, we almost missed our check out time. Highly recommend booking here, particularly if you're after a break from the San Francisco scene. We drove around Oakland and discovered some of the local restaurants.
Beautiful event space and friendly employees. Parking is difficult in the area on a Saturday night but not impossible. Would return for another event.
It's one of the nice hotels in downtown oakland. The beds are soft. The gym id nice clean and large. The area ...well its oakland.
Great location near Chinatown! They were also able to automatically split the hotel bill among guests per room!
I normally don't write reviews but this one is much needed. I never stay at the marriott (they don't deserve to be capitalized) because their hotels/rooms suck for the price point. You have more room staying outside in a tent with the homeless and the decor of the hotels are always horrible. The reason I stayed here this time was because of business and work booked me here due to proximity of the business in the area. Employees of the marriott were on strike 24/7 due to the marriott not meeting their employees half way and offering contracts. By the way, I stayed here about a month ago but this past week there was a $200 charge on the credit card for no reason whatsoever none other than by marriott. Called the hotel and not 1 person could say why the $200 was charged to the card. Eventually the charge came off after several run arounds with the hotel because it was their mistake (surprised they had the decency to say it was their mistake). During the stay they were no apologies from any of the staff about the 24/7 ruckus nor did anyone ask if my girlfriend and I could be better accommodated by the hotel (shitastic customer service). marriott hotels are being run by a bunch of clowns running a circus act all the way to the top. DON'T SUPPORT SHADY BUSINESS, BE A CONSCIOUS CONSUMER AND STAY FAR AWAY FROM ALL marriotts, THEIR AFFILIATE HOTELS AND OTHER PARTNERS. THE GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEIR ORGANIZATION AS WELL TO SUPPORT A RIDICULOUS BRAND LIKE the marriott BEING THAT THEIR PRACTICE FACILITY IS WITHIN THE COMPLEX. I hope the employees get what they're fighting for.
Clean up to date rooms friendly staff close to dining Bart a 15min ride to San Francisco
My room was clean, the front desk clerk was efficient & friendly
No pool. No sauna. Toilet leak in room. No complimentary parking, have to pay 45 dollars per day. Double charged me for first night. No complimentary breakfast. Room was small but decent. 80's style bathroom with toilet (leaking toilet) next to tub. I don't drink but my partner does...said paid 15.00 (plus TAX) for a Long Island drink (16.42 total). Lastly, the biggest disappointment was that there was no pool or sauna...it was " being renovated" as of June 2019 while this is late August 2019. Pool and Sauna are our signature events whenever we stay in hotels so this really made things feel like money wasted. Could have stayed home......had a room on 18th floor. The view was nice.
Very nice facilities, and very friendly people, something that made me curious was that I did not include breakfast, I did not see any restaurant or something, I do not know if it was my mistake not to see it or it really does not include it.
Hotel staff was very friendly and professional, guided me to the exact meeting location. Excellent service!
It's next to the 12th St Bart making it convenient to access. Service was good, rooms were modern and clean.
Open Marriott city center is my favorite and it s so cool I just love it and I just Saulet and it actually I love Oakland and I wish I saw it in Oakland and it fell I went to Oakland and I need to get it Uber there and then because I need to get a lift I need to drive to Oakland airport so I need to make sure that I need to go to American Airlines I am walking does is American and then I don t know which one is good and the not so fun I just made a BISA
It was fine. Even with gold member room upgrade elevator noise was pretty bad. Room 1815.
I stay a lot of Marriotts and this is one of the best. The fact that the subway is literally a hundred feet away is super convenient for getting into San Francisco. This is a great, lower expense alternative to staying downtown with convenient access and a good onsite restaurant.
Because it is a great hotel. The bathroom is clean and tidy.
What once was the only place in town has turned into a corporate experiment to see how many corners can be cut. Very sad, an incredible staff is being managed out of existence by East Coast decision makers. Highly recommend looking somewhere else.
Nice hotel in a neat part of town. New gym area with new equipment and good sized for a hotel. With lots of good food close.
Horrible, pool is off limits, they charge you for every little thing, no microwave in the room, & the fridge is barely cold.
Five Stars. It's huge and what you should expect for being in a Central Location.
The place seemed pretty nice despite the exterior appearance and there were multiple event rooms.
Was there for a business convention thanks for easy to locate the doorman gave phenomenal service
