great location in the heart of downtown Oakland and accessible to major transportation to move around

Comfortable and clean, but they have lots of extra hidden adder fees (parking, wifi)

I wasn't sure. I was actually there I rented a car from hertz.

Location is outstanding, staff are very nice and helpful, good lounge.

Clean and not so expensive. The good thing is that there is a subway station on the corner from where you can get to San Francisco in 30 minutes or so. So you save the high cost of hotels in San Francisco and take this one that costs the same as 2-3 star hotels in San Francisco. Obvious clean rooms and first class service, what you expect from a Marriot. The area well, some vagrants but all around is everywhere. And sure. I would go back without hesitation.

The venue was very clean and well staffed. Everyone was friendly and location was large enough to accommodate a lot.

Oakland Marriott is a really nice hotel, but you would think that complimentary WiFi would be a part of the stay. However, service staff are very kind and excellent at what they do!

We come here once a year in order to do a trade show in the exhibition Hall. We always stay at the Marriott Hotel for the show as they are connected. The convention center is very nice and the Marriott hotel is exceptional. The rooms are remodeled not too long ago and the staff at the hotel are very warm and helpful. The Neighbourhood of Downtown Oakland is a bit sketchy so you really don't want to go too far from this hotel in any direction on foot. There are a few restaurant options in the area that you can walk to. My only reason for 4 stars as opposed to five stars is just the troubled neighborhood that is Oakland California. Other than that the facility is for sure a five star.

It s nice enough but I never seem quite as welcome as I think I should. Maybe it s just Oakland in general?

I stayed at this hotel as this was the location of a conference I attended. It was easy to get to from the Bart. The guest room as well as meeting spaces were great for our purposes. The food was also great!

It's looks cool, the beds are comfortable and there was nice chairs in the room

The room was great our view from the room was beautiful. Staff in the lounge we're very welcoming and nice the gym was perfect, will definitely stay there again. The Bart was right outside the entrance easy access for public transportation

During check in, the staff was very friendly, and helpful. The front desk clerk made sure she asked questions on my room preference and was able to find me a great room, overlooking the bay. The staff at the restaurant were fast and courteous. My room was clean and very modern. Plenty of outlets to charge my electronics.

The hotel rooms have just been renovated! Decent sized room that was decorated well. We had a view of SF which was nice. It's much cheaper than staying right in SF and not far of a drive into and out of the city.

The underground train made tons of noise... Hard to sleep!

I visited the Oakland Marriott City Center for the Bay Area Bead Extravaganza "B.A.B.E." The surrounding area was not that appealing, but the hotel was very well kept and the staff was incredibly polite and helpful.

A nice hotel with very large conference rooms. The biggest hassle is how inconvenient it is to get from the conference rooms to the parking garage

Love bar but respecting the workers right to a living wage so I haven't been there..great while comfy places to sit n big screen

The location of the hotel and conference center was great and very accessible. I attended a graduation in one of the halls of the conference center. The room was very spacious but needed better lighting and decor.

This place has really stepped up their game in the past few years! Rooms have been updated and are very clean / modern. New linens and towels in the bathrooms. Very nice concierge lounge - M Lounge - with a wide variety of breakfast options and a self-service wine station. Staff was super friendly from front desk to security to bellman and valet parking. This area of Oakland has really cleaned up as well. Not hardly any homeless sleeping on the streets like in SF. Very near some great restaurants and bars as well!

The facilities were lovely and provided great service for accommodating the guests of my friends wedding.

The location was easy to get to with plenty of street parking options as well as hotel parking. The area is pretty safe and the interior is clean and easy to navigate.

Always stay here when I'm in Oakland. Love the hotel and it's in walking distance to Miss Ollies - best chicken and drinks in the area

No complimentary internet access in this day and age!? Some things should be included like electricity, water, air conditioning and YES internet.

Had a great time staying here for the Genesis 7 tournament. Staff was nice and the room was beautiful and clean.

I haven't been to this hotel in over a year and it looks like it's had some work done. The lobby area is nice as were the conference rooms. The rooms were nice as well with just a couple quirks. I had a room with 2 queen beds. It looks like the rooms lost a little square footage in the remodel because the space between the bed and chaise was really narrow. And the thermostat was in a very awkward place. I had to either climb over the bed or shimmy sideways past the chaise to get to it. I went to my meeting as soon as I arrived so I didn't notice the shower curtain had something gross on it until I went to shower this morning. I checked out the menu for the in-house restaurant. It was pretty standard fare. I thought the prices were reasonable considering Oakland is a high cost area (IRS table). They also have a microwave for guests to use. And a mini fridge in all the rooms. The staff were nice and helpful. The reminder about the time change was a very considerate touch. Overall, it was a good experience. I would definitely stay here again.

Attended social event. Very easy to get to by bart (one of the 12th Street exits right in front of it) . Clean and nice. Food was good. (Probably provided by hotel?). Had salmon and chicken. Salmon was very well done. Not over cooked. Salad was good.

We had excellent service at the hotel, with both an upgrade upon check-in from Donna and very friendly late check-out process with Shay. The room is very nice and clean with shelves and hangers, as well as a big screen internet TV. I parked outside the hotel on 10th St. for free to avoid the $30-45 garage parking fees and had my car broken into during the night. The hotel garage has some cameras but they have no surveillance to monitor outside the building, despite their downtown location.

Clean hotel in a nice area in Oakland. Very nice workout facility.

This hotel is fantastic! They've updated the rooms and while they haven't gotten to remodeling the shower in my room, my colleagues have said their bathroom updates are great. The fitness center has good variety and the staff is courteous. One warning: the tortilla scramble is breakfast nachos. Will be sticking to waffles tomorrow. The BART station is conveniently right outside. I'll be back next month and I'm looking forward to it.

Pros - exceptional room views, walking distance to Walgreens, city center (various restaurants & Starbucks) and across the street from train station. Con - no walking distance shopping..unless your looking for local stores.

I went for a professional event. I had a great experience and the staffed employees were very helpful.

Great location, rooms look like something out of a beaver cleaver episode. Bed was mushy and lumpy. Could use an extreme room makeover on them. Clean but very dated.

Difficulty getting attention for things, such as where the car garage was and where to get a cart for baggage. Room cleaning was good, but threw out something I didn't want them too. And finally, with the coat of the room, to have to pay extra for so many things (parking, water etc.) was over the top.

Essentially what you would expect from a Marriott Hotel. The lounge is good and so is the bar - though nothing special. One disappointment was that they permanently closed the pool.

The hotel was great with a beautiful view. The only drawback was that the Internet and printing was very expensive.

Location was so so. It's downtown.most downtowns are the same. The rooms were great. It's just that someone near me room decided to smoke weed so it left a bad smell everywhere

Bar can be busy during conventions, otherwise very calm hotel bar.

Been here once for company conference. Big conference rooms and ball rooms, close to china town for food, but streets are kind of not safe during the night.

Very clean we got a sm room due to closer w upper rooms of the Pandemic otherwise it was great experience
