The location of this hotel can't be beat. It's connected to the airport terminal and blue line train. Check in was a breeze and got the exact room that I requested. The room was clean and standard size. You don't hear any planes overhead although you can hear everything in the adjoining room (talking, water running, farts, probably making whoopie). The toiletries are Hilton's standard from Crabtree and Evelyn, so that wasn't a surprise. There were plenty of towels which made me happy. My only concern was YOU CANNOT GET WARM IN THIS PLACE!! After being in the room about an hour after check in, I was still cold. The thermostat would not come on. I called the front desk to ask for someone to come check it. She informed me that the air conditioning system was on today because it was above 50 degrees. It was 52!! What part of the world turns on A/C at 52! The entire system is run centrally so you don't actually control heat or A/C but was advised that it would be on soon. After several hours away from the hotel, I returned and it was still cold but the thermostat did turn on the heat when I turned it to 83, and not any temp before 83. And I had to keep it there because turning it lower, you freeze. And even with it constantly running on 83 it never really gets warm. I hate to see what it feels like in the middle of Chicago's cold winters. The unit is loud so you have to turn up the tv louder to watch it. I though that I was being dramatic about the temperature until I saw a portable heater in the hall across from my room. I guess I wasn't the only one cold, and they know it to have heaters available. Yet I wasn't offered one when I complained. I guess that I should have been persistent. There are a few restaurants on the premises. The Italian restaurant food was ok but the service needs some improvements. There's a sports bar but the food comes from the Italian restaurant. The price point is expected for the airport area but $20 for a standard egg plate for breakfast is just crazy. You can order room service for the same price. If you go to the Italian restaurant (name I forget) try the French toast or the chicken caprese sandwich with fries. They were great. I did manage to get a pizza delivered from Giordano's which was equally expensive but they even brought plates and utensils. There's a full gym and pool which is very clean. Overall it was a good stay. I loved travelling to center city on the train. Traffic is horrible in Chicago which makes this hotel very appealing. You can go from your room to the train and never go outside. You can check into the airport without going outside either.
