DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! YOU LL ENDUP PAYING MORE THAN JUST RENTAL PRICE!

We went out this morning on a avalanche risk considerable day. Probably got 3ft of snow in the last 48 hours, we see avalanches on almost EVERY slope. We helped 3 sleds getting unstuck that rented from NOVA.

The guys we helped to get unstuck from NOVA DO NOT HAVE ANY SAFETY GEAR. No beacon, no shovel while it s avalanches EVERYWHERE. They don t even have straps. While we are helping, the guide from NOVA Snowcat came up and saying he got it, we can leave. So we did. After 10 minutes, we turned around, and apparently the snow cat guide from NOVA did not help much, because both sleds are still stuck! And they just left with the snow cat! Honestly all they need to do is use the strap we have on those sleds, then just use the cat to pull it out, won t even take 5 minutes!!

They WANT TO CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING!! They CHARGE if you get stuck!! And the machines for rental, have tiny little track on the snowmobile, and it does not have a lot of power either, ANYONE left trail on that machine would get stuck. Everyone we helped today, all did not left the trail internally, the shoulder of the trail is soft, you can literally get stuck 10 feet away from the trail and NOVA will be happily to charge you for that!

We got very concerned that people just get into backcountry on rental sleds WITH OUT SAFE GEAR!! YOU COULD DIE!!!! Every year there are dozens of people getting killed by avalanche in backcountry, without safety gear, your survival rate is extremely low. NOVA rent to so many people every year WITHOUT SAFETY GEAR!!

We have rented ATV's most every year for the past ten years. Service has always been great. Stan is the best guide and makes you feel welcome. All the guides have been great and we have gone on our own a few times. Always a beautiful and historic location. They pick us up at our front door in Beaver Creek so also an enjoyable and informative ride every time no matter who has driven us. Looking forward to the summer of 2015 and will be bringing some more newbies with us as we regularly do.

Great place for a lot of snowmobiling fun. Staff was very nice, helpful, and educational in teaching us first-timers how what to do. Both single, high-performance snowmobiles (for a faster, off-the-trails experience) and double-seater snowmobile. Guided and non-guided tours were availabile for 2-4 hour tours. Small snowmobiles were available for children. Great lodge area with dining seating, restaurant service, wine, hot and cold drinks--a comfortable, warm place to wait for those not snowmobiling. Their website says it's a 2-hour drive from Denver and Google maps said 2 hrs., 15 min. BUT plan on 3 hours to get there! It's a good 15 miles off I-70, and it's a 2-lane road, not a fast drive. Checking in and instructions tale quite a while, so get there in plenty of time before your reservation time. Rental of helmets, snow suits, boots, goggles, and gloves were very inexpensive. Absolutely NO wi-fi or cell phone service, kind of remote area, not that close to shopping. If you are going to rent a high-performance snowmobile, be sure to have $1,000 available in your bank, which they hold for various reasons (all of which they go through). We had some confusion about the hold and because we weren't able to transfer any funds from savings (no wi-fi), we were going to have to leave, but the owner, Steve, noticed we were having an issue and jumped right in and made it happen for us. He truly saved our entire day, and we had an incredibly fun experience! Thank you, Steve! We will definitely be back!!!

Answered my call on the first try, friendly and explained the process very well. Nice new snowmobiles, I rode for a bit with out gloves as the hand warmers were very nice. Rental gear was nice. Did a 3 hour tour and it was just enough time to do all the trails and get back with 8 minutes to spare. Will be going again. We had the ski doo 600 (lowest one) and it was plenty fast for the trails.

I did a guided ATV tour a few years ago with this ...

I did a guided ATV tour a few years ago with this group an it was good. So when back in the area I thought my son and I would try another, We signed up for a 3 hour self guided ATV tour (3rd week in June). When we booked it nothing was mentioned about most of the trails (all the good stuff In my opinion) were not open (Forest service has not opened them yet). This would not have been a problem as long as I had that info and could make a informed decision as to my choices. When the guy who worked there was briefing us is when we found out about the closures. I could tell he knew we would have a hard time filling 3 hours up. He said we should stop and take breaks and take walks along the way. Anyway at this point we were committed (they also have a 24 hr cancellation policy). We covered all available trails in 1 hour. I owned a tour business for 19 years. Not they way to do it in my opinion. They went for the quick kill and were more concerned about the money then a good experience for their customer, no question about it. Not the end of the world, but disappointing. So ask the questions of what is open. The trails we went on were just ok. The good stuff was closed and it would have been nice to know this when we made the reservation. I did voice me concerns after the fact to the employee there after the ride and he blamed the forest service. Clearly missing the point. They got my money but that is all they will ever get.

We stayed in Vail for a week, and this was without a doubt, THE HIGHLIGHT of our trip! We did the 3 hour rental, the guides were thorough in explaining how the snowmobiles work, what to do and not to do and where to go and not to go. And it was much, much cheaper than skiing! We ll be back!

The experience I had with Nova is simply unacceptable. I booked a tour with them a few days in advance. I spoke with an agent, chose the tour best suited for me, got my confirmation email and was looking forward. As per the email, I was waiting outside my hotel at 2:15, with all the items they recommended we bring. At 2:30 when they still weren't there I called them up. They saw my reservation in the system and simply said "Oh sorry, were having a party, we can offer you a refund." That was it. They never bothered to inform me they won't be able to keep my reservation. They took my money, but never gave me the tour. Had they let me known in advance I would have been able to make alternate plans, but no. They have no customer service to speak of. To say I was disappointed is an understatement.

Really slow service to get our snowmobiles! Our reservation was at 10 am for a 2 hour rental, we got there at 9 am. Until 10:30 we got the snowmobiles and we were told we only had 1 hour and 30 min left for the rental, when it was their fault for the delay!
The rest was good, and the views amazing!

8 of us went out snowmobiling for 3 hrs. Never once did we take the snowmobiles where they should not have been or damage them in any way. While out ridding one of the employees noticed that a couple people in our group were ridding in a small field right next to the main road full of snowmobiling tracks. He came up to us and started yelling at us that we were not staying on the trail. We apologized and went on our way. The area that they were ridding in looked like it was part of the area where you were allowed to ride. Once we returned to the lodge they called one of our group members name and said that there was damage to her snowmobile. Mind you she was not one of the people who were in the field. They charged her an extra $135 for the damages after we had paid $1200 to rent them. They said a plastic piece was cracked and she did it. They wanted to punish us because they were angry that some of us were off the trail and they made sure to find something wrong to get more money from us. I highly discourage anyone from renting from this place. The ridding was amazing but the place is a joke.

Chris was our guide for snowmobile tour in the Rocky Moutains and was awesome; great rapport with our whole group, very knowledgable and exceptional concern for not only the enjoyment of all but also a sincere concern for everyones safety. Everyone had a wonderful time. 12 people and 7 snowmobiles. 3 Jan 2016; it was awesome weather! We went all the way up to over 13,000 feet! Great way to start the new year. Happy 2016! Thanks Chris!

Have you ever thought to yourself, You know what ...

Have you ever thought to yourself, You know what I really want this Christmas? For someone to scream in my face. Because if so, this is the place for you. Seriously, my family went out snowmobiling and we were having an awesome time, UNTIL a guide decides to SCREAM at us. He stands in front of our path, gets us to stop, starts screaming this that and whatever about how we cut off one of his guests (we passed them going about 25 when they couldn t have been going faster than 10MPH), how passing at all is completely illegal, gets literally right in my dad s face (seriously within inches. He was wagging his finger and practically poked him in the eye. This guide was seriously lucky my dad didn t hit him.), and then when we tried to explain what happened, he went on a huge rant about how we weren t allowed to speak and how dare we try to explain ourselves. NO ONE had told us that passing wasn t allowed. No one. How on Earth were we supposed to know?! How dare he think screaming at us and forbidding us from responding was even mildly appropriate. Seriously, seriously, I have never felt more like someone was treating me like a child in my life. The way that guide handled the situation was completely inappropriate and I hope he gets fired. If you re reading this straggly haired screamer, I d like you to know how much you wrecked our day for no reason at all.

I found Nova Guides snowmobiling brochure on a trip to Denver. I excitedly signed up for Monday 3.00PM .. I am from Houston, Texas and do not have snow driving experience. I signed up for an unguided ride.

I must say thanks to my instructor. He gave me concise and very helpful instructions. (I would compare him to my math teacher.) He made us comfortable and gave us all tips; DO list and DO NOT DO list. It helped me a lot. He took our photos. Ski-Doo Snowmobile was almost brand new and in a perfect shape.

The whole experience was very enjoyable and my family had a great experience riding Ski-Doo snowmobile. Thanks a lot and I will definitely visit Nova Guides again.

If you want to rent/ride ATVs or RZRs, then look no further. Nova Guides is fantastic. We did the RZR tour and had a great time. The machines were in great shape and the scenery was second to none. Our guide Spoon was the man. He was friendly, patient, personable, and really funny! He was one of those guys that made you feel like you had been friends for years. He did a great job leading us and shared some cool facts about the area, including the history of Camp Hale. The lunch that they served us when we got back to the lodge was solid as well. We can't wait to go back!

There is no customer service at this place, from c...

There is no customer service at this place, from checkin, things got progressively worse. The people who work here have no regards for customers and act like we are there for charity. They don't check the helmet is tied correctly and secure before letting you take the snowmobile in the trail. All they care about is collecting money and make sure you sign all the waivers. My daughter and I had a snowmobile accident and thrown out into a ditch, thank god we were not seriously injured. My helmet came off and as a result i have a concussion that i am currently suffering. I think it could have been avoided if the helmet was tied securely. I tied the helmet to best of my knowledge and no one checked to make sure its tied right and secure. Why cant they have someone check the helmet is secure before letting us out in the trail? Is that going to be too much work or going to cut their profit? They don't take any responsibility but only care about the loss they may have to suffer and how to mitigate that to their favor. Gone into a ditch is scary enough that we were in shock and pain but guys came to rescue were not helpful at all. I understand its inconvenience to them but they can show little sympathy to our situation. The keys from the snowmobile got lost and the rescue people wanted me and my daughter to search for it in the snow in the situation we were in and made comments as if we did lose it on purpose and making them do the work. To top that all, after they made the new key, they made us ride the snowmobile back and the rescue guy who was in front of us was doing all kinds of snowmobile tricks with his bike as if we are having a jolly good ride back, so insensitive. They not only charged us for the lost key, damages to the snowmobile but also for the loss of money for not renting the snowmobile. So why be nasty too to a customer who suffered a trauma while renting with you. Will never rent with them again, very poor customer service and their only goal is to milk money from customer. Don't even want to give them 1 star.

If you re going to rob us at least use a gun.

If you re going to rob us at least use a gun.

I came here with 3 of my friends to ride some ATVs while we were in Colorado. We showed up and got our gear, learned about the machines and the trails and hit the mountains. We booked an unguided tour for 2 hours, $130 a person. Before we left the only words of warning we were given was to watch for blind corners, other riders, pedestrians, vehicles, not to go too fast on steep climbs, and other common sense. We did NOT watch a safety video or learn in depth about what maneuvers and speeds are dangerous on the vehicle beforehand, which should be mandatory for any vehicle rental! He did not tell us was how EASY it is to wreck these things. Essentially we showed up, were told how the machine turns on, and sent on our way.

I rode in 4 wheel drive for entire trip and was fine. My friends however rode in 2 wheel, and keep in mind 2 wheel is the default setting that I manually switched before we left. This machine slides and drifts like crazy in two wheel drive, I personally feel that 4 wheel should be mandatory for all tours. Taking a wide and simple turn coming up from an incline my friend rolled his machine and was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained minor injuries and the vehicle was a little banged up but still drive-able. My friend and I turned around to help him and HE flipped the machine on it s side as he came to a stop next to him. He wasn t even going fast, just turning into a stop and the thing ejected him. We were able to drive the damaged ATV back to the building, slowly but surely. Once we got back they charged us $3,000 for repairs to the damaged vehicle! $1,200 for parts, $1,000 for the next day out of service fee, and labor. My other friend who rolled his when coming to a stop got changed $300 for his vehicle too. The fact that we have to pay out of pocket for a simple accident that could happen to anyone at any point on the trail is abhorrent! The employees were also quite demeaning to us about the accident; saying how were probably doing donuts on the mountain and how we need to be respectful with the machines and thanks for making things right as if we were at fault for something that could happen anyone.

That being said, the ATVs themselves were tremendously fun to ride, and was probably the most exciting part of our trip. But renter beware if you crash or roll for any reason you are going to get gouged!!! Fun but not $3,500 worth of fun.

Awesome trails. Nice staff. Minus owner

Be prepared to pay for the wear and tear of others. We had a snowmobile tip on soft snow on the side of the trail. Wasn't even moving. It broke a passenger handle. We were honest about that and willing to pay for the fix. Price came in at $700 way over the amount I thought for a handle falling off. Especially for not even moving. There must have been an issue with the handle prior to renting it. Owner was rude. Made the fun we had be ruined. Felt like I got ripped off on the service repair. Be careful to look the machine over before renting

Had awesome time. I highly recommend this place and staff was great. You get helmet and instructions in town and then a short drive to trail where side x side are. Lots of trails to ride. The only thing I didn't like is you have to return helmets to the shop where you got them or pay to have it/them returned. We were going the opposite way way so kind of incaveinment.

We had the best time snowmobiling on a guided tour with Nova Guides! My husband and I rented separate snowmobiles for the Top of the Rockies Tour so we could both drive, and man was it worth it!! They took us to what felt like the top of the world, guided us around a few of the groomed trails and at the end, let us loose to do a few laps in an open area before heading back. Best. Day. Ever! Highly recommend!

I met Derek, a Nova Guide, on the trail as he was coming to rescue one of his customers that was stranded. I assisted him and his helper during the rescue and was immediately impressed with his concern and safety for his customer. After witnessing his professionalism and care of his customer and machine, I decided to bring my extended family back the next day and rent from Nova Guides. We needed to rent a four seater to compliment our personal machines and take the trails around Camp Hale. The only thing better than the staff's professionalism and courtesy was the spectacular scenary! If you are looking for stunning views, safe machines and a stellar staff to work with, you found them with Nova Guides. Start your Rocky Mountain memories right here!

I decided to surprise the boyfriend with a trip to...

I decided to surprise the boyfriend with a trip to Vail for Christmas and we would ring in the new year snowmobiling on top of the Rockies! I'm glad I found Nova Guides; it was one of the first tour groups to come up when you google snowmobiling tours/rentals in the Vail area. We called to book our trip, though I have to say the girl on the phone was not the nicest and sounded like she'd rather be anywhere but work. She also talked us out of booking the Full Day Top of the Rockies tour for some reason, stating that as first time snowmobilers, this would be a bit much.. WRONG!!! Don't listen to her!!!

We got picked up from the Bear Lot in Avon because we were staying a bit outside of Vail and Avon was the furthest they'll go for door to door service. The van arrived on time and off we went! The van wasn't the newest but it wasn't horrible - Perry picked us up with 1 other couple in the car. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and told us about different towns we drove through. It was cool to see Gilman, an abandoned "ghost town" that used to be a mining town. They had to evacuate because the town no longer passes EPA standards and all the houses stand empty with cars/furniture/etc still inside. Nuts! The drive wasn't very far, about 20 mins and we felt taken care of and safe.

When we arrived at Nova Guides, it was pure chaos!!! There was only 2 stalls in the bathroom so of course there was a line... they should maybe stagger the start time of all the tours to avoid the bottlenecks. The check-in counter was packed and so was the area for picking up snowsuits and snowboots. It was all huddled in 1 spot so it was madness during this time. I felt like my guide was a bit annoyed it took so long to get my equipment and get dressed, etc but there really isn't much you could do about it. The snowsuits they provide are pretty warm and light weight - not too bulky so that you can't move. I wore the snowsuit over my snowpants I already had on and was super warm during the whole snowmobile tour - and this was through one of the coldest days of the year at 7 degrees. The snow boots were comfy - I used foot warmers under my socks and in my gloves so I was nice and toasty. They sell handwarmers in case you didn't bring any - and lockers are available for rent for $1.50! They also have goggles you can rent if needed but it is highly recommended so the wind isn't blowing in your eyes. The goggles and helmet keeps your head pretty warm. Just cover up your nose and mouth area with a scarf or something.. it could get chilly with the wind. The helmets were required and they were fairly new - all the equipment was good and didn't smell, thank goodness!!

The area to go explore is great! We did an unguided tour with 4 two seater atvs and 2 four seater razors ! The atvs are amazing if you want to have fun and have a great daring adventure! Whatever you do do not rent a razor they are so slow and super expensive! Not to mention they hold 1K on your debit card just to rent it and it takes 3 weeks to release! The highest speed it will go is 45 mph and good luck getting it to go that fast! The whole time we were touring with our group we were always in the way of everyone! If you are looking for speed and fun do not get a razor!

Had a wonderful day doing the 2 hour unguided snowmobiling. The staff were all friendly and instructive, and the map was clear and easy enough to understand. The trails provided enough ground for our 2 hr session as well as some gorgeous views.

I misunderstood the guides instructions as far as staying on "the flats" and got stuck in some deeper snow, since I went off trail, but John came out to help pull me out. He was super understanding and cheerful. It cost $100 but I think that's fair. Bob was also very nice when I got back to the lodge and told me sometimes it happens, and not to worry. The staff were all so professional and the lodge dogs were VERY cute.

We had a wonderful snowmobile experience with Nova Guides. Beaver Creek had 9 of snow the night before the outing, but Mike was still on time to come pick us up. We had a beautiful drive up to Camp Hale (30ish minutes once we got on I70). Getting boots and gear was very efficient and we were out snowmobiling within 30 minutes of arriving at the lodge. They made sure we were all comfortable by taking us out to a field and letting us experiment with the machines. We were all very comfortable by the time we were trail riding. Lunch was good - we had the burger. The thing I was most impressed by was the staff. Mike was so knowledgeable and prioritized safety, but let us have fun / go fast! I am still breastfeeding and had to pump before and after snowmobiling at the lodge (we were gone from the house from about 8:30-3p) - the staff went above and beyond to find me a private place to pump and even offered to bring my lunch to me. It was a wonderful day!

The staff was extremely flexible with our changes in reservations and were very polite. We changed from snowmobiling to the snow coach and then again, changed the number of people.

The tour guide was fantastic and was really knowledgeable about the history in the area.

They picked us up on time and dropped us off promptly.

I d highly recommend the snow coach for anyone with small children! It was really an I credible experience and it was nice that the snow coach was heated.

Sure skiing is unmatched in Summit and Eagle Counties in CO, but an often overlooked adventure awaits those wanting to get away from the long lift lines and crowds on the slopes: Nova Guides. Shane Murphy and his crew offer epic scenery and and great service on trails that can be appreciated by families or the adrenalin junkie. Even if you have never been on a sled (and it took some convincing for my wife) - make the stop. The views from Vail Pass are like no other. Thank you for providing the opportunity to create lasting memories that my family will be discussing for years.

Let's get this out of the way, snowmobiling is not...

Let's get this out of the way, snowmobiling is not cheap entertainment. But wow, what a great alternative to crowded mountain lifts or otherwise needing a break from skiing. Our guide, Hayden, was friendly from the pickup to the drop off and was full of local knowledge. He made our half day 'top of the rockies' tour worth the price of admission. Nova guides had top shelf equipment from the sleds to the boots, all first rate. Though I can't speak to their competitors, the Camp Hale exclusivity that Nova Guides enjoys gives an added dimension of history in lieu of just zooming around snow covered trails. The relics left over from the 10th Mountain Division add a facet that can't be understated.
