Another great visit to Northtown Auto today. They investigated a fluid leak and provided excellent customer service! They also displayed and provided very safe processes and measures for the customer and my vehicle during this COVID-19 outbreak! They are top notch, highly recommend.

These guys are honest and reliable, I wouldnt take my car anywhere else. From start to finish this place is clean and comfortable in the front office and they have a courtesy van for employees to drop you off and pick you up. Very professional. Thanks for the great service

Our family vehicle s water pump went Wednesday evening. Although it s been quite a few years since I ve been to these guys due to some good vehicle health, I knew just who to call. My vehicle was towed there within 45 mins from my call. The next morning I was given a diagnosis and a plan of action with a goal of being done that day! This was excellent news since I was already stressing about transportation well into the next week! These guys are professional and reasonable, although I did tell them I hope to not see them again for awhile as no one enjoys vehicle repairs, I know just who to call for all my repair needs. These guys are the best!

Fast, friendly service with fair pricing. One of the better auto shops in the McHenry area. They get you in and out just as they should.

They did an excellent job on my 2012 Malibu! I saved a bunch of money bringing my vehicle here for the front strut replacements and alignment! Larry was definitely very helpful and professional ! Prices are reasonable and not at all costly!

Took my jeep there to fix another shops mistake. Got the job done and we're thorough on my car.

Took an hour to diagnose what made my car to keep blowing an interior fuse and told me it was the starter and quote me over $500 to change it but wouldn t give me any reason to why they thought it was the starter besides saying with my car model there is a high chance that it is caused by the starter.....what?! I m not paying you to guess what the problem is! I ended up towing it to a different shop. (The starter wasn t the problem, but I still end up paying for their diagnostics.smh!) Terrible service!

I got a flat tire I needed a replacement fast, I called everyone I could think of, from Walmart to Firestone to farm and fleet to NTB, I searched everywhere for a new tire. No one carried my tire size, and the ones that did had them at they're other locations, but never once did they suggest that they go pick it up, no they wanted me to go pick up the tires at the other stores and bring them back, unbelievable. I called Northtown, they had my tire size in they're warehouse and they would have them ready for me in a few hours. When I was at Northtown not only was they're customer service friendly to me, but I noticed how well they treated customer after customer, with the same friendliness and respect they showed me. Go to Northtown, forget the big chain places, go to the small shop in our local area and support them and you will see how great the are.

I always recommend Northtown if the subject comes up. You guys have always been there when I needed you and I appreciate the great service! When I moved from McHenry to Minnesota almost two years ago, I (you) received a great compliment from My Car Guy, where I go up here for service. He told me that my car has been well taken care of!!!

Larry who worked on my car did an excellent job and the work I could not be happier. Northtown I feel for the excellent work, honesty and friendly personal, I was highly recommend by Douglas to anyone who needs the car repairs to call Northtown. From my experience I would always ask for Douglas and Larry. They are GREAT.

Northtown Auto Service is the best we have found in McHenry. The staff is very courteous and quick to act on our behalf. I have never been dissatisfied with the service or the prices. Came in without an appointment to get my oil change and a tire rotation and since it was their tires the tire rotation was free. Happy I came to them to change my tires! It really benefited me to do that. Another plus is that I'm a single mom so I came in with my kids. There is a station for little kids that keeps them busy while you wait and courtesy WIFI for my teen. 5 !!!

I would recommend Northtown to anyone. I went to a local muffler shop and they quoted me over $1,500 to fix my muffler and a ball joint. They said my exhaust was unrepairable and needed a new converter and O2 sensors. I went to Northtown and they repaired the exhaust and a new ball joint it cost me only $320. It s nice to finally find an honest auto repair shop. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very modern and clean shop. They offered to buy me jimmy johns while I waited and they also pay for your Uber ride. 5 STARS!!!!

I went to Northtown tire to have tires mounted on my truck. The staff was friendly, the service was good and the work was done quickly at a decent price. I will be going back to Northtown for future work on my vehicles.

As a side note, as I was waiting for the work to be completed, a lady who was having some work done spoke with the manager at the desk and mentioned to him how happy she was to not feel like she was given the run around or inflated services simply because she was a woman. I think that is a strong indicator of a trustworthy shop and is worth sharing about Northtown.

These guys know their stuff. Steve is always super helpful and gives details in layman's terms so that I understand exactly what needs to be done.

Good mechanical work, and nice guys overall. They have helped me out more than once in a pinch, and while their prices aren't the lowest in town, they stand by their workmanship and don't try to rip you off. I've also found that just like a lot of goos old-school shops, they're willing to negotiate a deal if you are getting a few things done at once, which always feels nice.

As I waited for my tires to be swapped out a middle aged woman came in with an issue with her vehicle ( out of ear shot as to what exactly). However, the true beauty of the interaction was how delicately and considerate the associate of Northtown was. The woman clearly was no car expert or Danica Patrick - but the gentlemen helping her ensured not to treat her like an idiot because of it. He infact explained exactly the issues to her and their plan of how to fix it and costs associated in the most respectful and kind manner possible. The integrity of the employees and staff and the way they treat their customers is just....as we say in our business....a dying breed.

Wonderful staff! Polite, honest and accommodating. They offer coffee, water and cookies while you wait and the ladies restroom has a changing table which many businesses don't even consider installing. They also have a tv and a cellphone charging station so waiting for repairs is very comfortable.

When shopping for tires they were upfront with pricing and availability. What impressed me the most was while shopping they recommended checking out their competitors. Service is top rate and I would highly recommend them.

Recently moved to the McHenry area and needed a close car repair place. Looked at reviews and they were very good. I called them because my car wouldn t start and they were very polite and recommended a tow service. They diagnosed it quickly and fixed it right away. Since it was there, I asked them to look at another problem and they diagnosed it but that it would be expensive and may not be worth doing it. They were very honest and looked out for my best interest, instead of wanting to make as much money off me as possible. They are definitely my go to place from now on!

Absolutely blown away by the attention to detail! The tech took pictures and labeled them accordingly to help instruct me on what needed to be fixed. I am so appreciative of their willingness to go above and beyond what the average repair shop would do to be transparent and honest. As a longtime owner of my vehicle, it's important to maintain my vehicle so that I can have the longest life out of my vehicle. You may not like the fixes they find that need to be done, but they are honest and upfront about it. A couple times I have questioned cost and time on fixing it myself. 100 percent of the time I thought they were wrong they were right. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking.

The establishment and people were both excellent. The waiting area was clean and comfortable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and completed everything in a timely fashion. And as far as I'm aware, the prices seemed very fair. I will be frequenting them again for sure.

The best auto shop around. My family has been going here since we have been in the area, so for about 20 years.

As other reviews have mentioned one of the great things about Northtown auto is how they can work with your budget and explain what needs to be fixed right away vs what can wait. Being a college student and with a tight budget, this helps a lot.

Another factor is trust. Although my father isn't a mechanic by any means, he worked at an auto shop back in the day and knows his way around a car. Never have we received overly high estimates. They are always fair in their pricing.

In summary Northtown auto is the best. If you are in the area looking to get your car fixed, you have to go there. I'm in no ways affiliated with Northtown auto, I just have had my car fixed there a total of 4 times now. Got new tires, new exhaust, new struts, and something else I can't remember. Everytime I've extremely satisfied.

I have had my vehicles serviced several times all with exceptional results. This latest time was no exception. My vehicle needed 2 additional days to complete the service(needed to remove entire dash to replace heater core). They apologized several times for the delay when calling with updates. They even sprayed fragrance on the carpet to help remove the anti-freeze smell from the leak. This type and level of service is rare today. Thanks Northtown!

Northtown staff know what they are doing and are very friendly. They perform a free general diagnostic report to let you know of issues with your car and whether you should address them ASAP or just keep a watch on them. They usually have their own shuttle to provide rides but are covering the cost of Lyft rides right now due to Covid. The only thing that would make them better would be complimentary car washes! Highly recommend Northtown!

Outstanding and friendly service here. Reasonable prices (and they always have online coupons). Recommended by a friend and they've been great. We've used them for everything from oil changes to troubleshooting and repair of issues.

Fair labor rate and good timely work. They changed my wheel bearings and did it in the time they said it would take. They even gave me a ride home free of charge while they did the work. I'd like to thank the technician that worked on my car for warning me that I put my center hub rings on backwards! I'd recommend northtown to anyone!

This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a company. Got new tires from them four years ago. Since then every single tire has had rim leak causing me to fill it up every winter in -5 weather. Bring it in and they "clean" it. Yet next winter same issue. Finally go to Firestone and had them fix the tire that has web giving me the problems. Not an issue since.

If you want tires go someone else. This place is a joke. I love always having to go to other car places to have my issues fixed that these guys touched.

Got me in and out fast! I had a flat tire due to a nail. I filled it with air and called Northtown if they can repair my tire right way. Larry said sure can. I ran over there and they repaired my tire with in 30 minutes. NTB lost a customer, because I called their first and they said they could not do it today.

It was about 4 years ago I put fresh breaks on my car and gave it about 2 weeks before driving it up there and saying I need new breaks all around. The guy called and said as much as he would like to do the work I don't need them so he wasn't going to touch my car. Good trust worthy people. I have never taken my cars anywhere else.
