We have worked with Kim Van Horn on both the buying and selling sides... she is just fantastic. She was incredibly patient with our endless stream of questions and eager to help with our (seemingly) infinite needs. She guided us through every step of the process with expertise, wisdom, and skill. Whether buying or selling, Kim made the processes easier than we could have hoped. I know she's a busy agent, but she always made us feel that we were important and high-priority clients.; and more importantly-- friends.

We first came in contact with Northside Realty, and Barry Yates, in early 2014. We had been going through a difficult time with our home and were in need of a new residence, although we were unable to make any moves at that time.

Barry stayed in contact with us, periodically checking in to offer whatever assistance he could to help us resolve our issues. He consistently offered his time and energy to help us even though we had no foreseeable way to purchase a home at that time.

Ultimately, after three years, and with much help from Barry, we were in a position to purchase our next home. Barry already knew what we were looking for since he had spent so much of his time supporting our efforts during the previous years. We closed on our brand new home in early 2017, with relative ease, but where there were wrinkles, Barry jumped right in and smoothed them out.

Barry started out as our realtor and ended up becoming our friend, one who we treasure greatly to this day. We highly recommend him to everyone we meet or speak to who's interested in any real estate in North Carolina.

My fiance and I closed on our home earlier last week. As first time home-buyers, we were completely clueless on how the process would work, what to look for in homes, and how to prepare for the biggest investment of our lives. Kim Van Horn was absolutely incredible and made the experience what I can only imagine as the easiest, and the best. She educated us on everything first time homeowners should know. She was honest, thorough, and answered the endless questions that we had with grace and complete expertise.
I had several close friends recommend Kim and I understand why- I wouldn't dream of working with another agent. The entire experience was an absolute pleasure and we are so happy in our dream home!

I cannot say one bad thing about Lois Magee she is the absolute BEST and I would recommend her to anyone buying/selling a home. This was our first time purchasing and it could not have been a better experience. Lois was super flexible and understanding with our crazy schedules - literally could call her inquiring about a home and she would have the information and/or viewing set within minutes to hours. I really admire her honesty and intentions; she ultimately wants you to make the decision, but will give you her opinion. She truly cares about her clients and will treat you like family. We recently worked with Audrey Johnston to sell a home and purchase a new home. Audrey is very patient, kind, thorough, and attentive. Lois Magee is A-MAZ-ING!
Lois has done an amazing job helping us sell our house and finding another one. She listens to your needs and knows exactly what you want and finds it. Our house sold within a week of listing it. Lois is there anytime that you need her. She truly cares about doing the very best for you and not her. She knows the market, the area, the neighborhoods and the realtors. I HIGHLY recommend Lois Magee for all of your needs when it comes to selling and buying.

The listing agent for our recently purchased home works for Northside Realty (Meredith Lundberg) and she was grossly incompetent. She admitted that she had never even been to the property and said because she has so many she couldn't be expected to look at or respond to anything in a timely manner. She took days to respond, didn't supply paperwork asked for, rude in her language, and lied saying WE were the ones not responding. In fact, she lied more than once with one story not even making sense and obviously trying to cover the shotty practices of the seller. Frankly, her service so bad we highly considered walking away from the purchase because we didn't want to deal with her and didn't feel she deserved the commission. After our agent finally had to get tough with her (we had to extend our due diligence period due to her apathy) she basically bowed out of the sale and we dealt with coworker mainly. If this agent's service is representative of the realty company I would take my business elsewhere.

We worked with Teresa Hurst on buying our new home. She showed us many houses and was very patient with us while we made the decision. She is very knowlegdable in the housing market. I highly recommend her.

Evan was referred to me by a friend who also had an amazing experience with selling their house. Needless to say, Evan did not disappoint. In fact, what was (by all measures) going to be a 6-7 month process to sell my very unique historical home ended up taking only 3. He also walked me through buying my new house from very difficult sellers. He is incredibly thorough, detail-oriented and does not miss a beat. It is fantastic to have Evan on your team when you're navigating what is arguably one of the most stressful and emotional times in your life.

Kim Van Horn is truly the best at what she does. I have worked with other agents in the past and it does not take long to realize she is truly exceptional among her peers. She is familiar with the area in which she works to a degree that instills the utmost confidence and her knowledge is expansive and encyclopedic regarding lending pitfalls, tax rates, and neighborhoods. She steered us beautifully to escrow on a highly collective property, I am certain we would not have succeeded without her by our side. Additionally, I contacted her many months prior to our purchase, and she counseled me to wait until the most advantageous time for this specific investment which ended up being many months later. This is indicative of her strong ethics; an agent who advises a buyer or seller on what is truly best for them and their goals versus simply an opportunity to close a transaction is a rare gem. Jo Wiles recently worked with us to sell our house. She is one of the best and her experience is obvious. We had not sold a house before, so she walked us through (and handled most of) the entire process. She advocated for us and made sure that all of the details were taken care of. We are so thankful for Jo and her professionalism and experience!

My experience with Northside Realty and agent Joann Samelko couldn't have been better. Joann was willing to sell my home at its true market value and work hard to do just that versus lowballing the selling price by 25% as other realtors with other firms wanted to do for a quick "I sold this house in 2 days" kudos at the expense of MY best interests. Those other agents' lack of fiduciary responsibility was shocking/appalling.
Joann came out, listened, advised, coached, and developed a very comprehensive marketing plan that got my house sold. Through the selling process (with some difficult buyers) she was able to strategically make the right calls & moves that ultimately got my house sold. As a first time home buyer I was skeptical at first about some of the things he was saying about the crazy market around here, but I quickly learned everything he was telling me was true. She was the third realtor we interviewed and while we felt either of the other two would have been fine, after we met Kim it was a no -brainer. She didn't disappoint. My husband and I absolutely loved working with Kim Van Horn at Northside Realty! Kim did a great job of carefully listening to our needs, budgetary limits, and preferences, and then combined them to find us listings that were exactly what we were looking for. We ended up finding a house that was just right for us, but required a lot of negotiation and backing-and-forthing with the owner and seller's realtor. Kim advocated for us and helped us negotiate the best possible outcome. It turned out to be a challenging closing process with all the negotiations but Kim was great about communicating timely updates throughout it all.
