Clean and spacious rooms. Restaurant easy and expensive
DO NOT BOOK WITH ANY HOTEL IN NEWARK BUT THIS ONE. This hotel is definitely worth the money and time. The stay was great and so is the food which is very hard to find in Newark, NJ. I went out to numerous restaurants and even the fanciest were just bad compared to the food I had at the hotel. Break, lunch, and dinner was all great. I enjoyed the room and their services they were fast and efficient. I appreciated how welcoming they are from the start. They aren't trying to be overly excited but just pleasant enough to make your stay and checking in smoother. The bed was very comfortable, and the dining area in the room was just perfect for two. The television is amazing because it's easy to maneuver and very modern. The bathroom was very comfortable, they have some new technology within the shower that makes it all the much better. I enjoyed their simplistic design of the rooms. They had different optional lighting. The bathroom had everything 1-2 people can need. I was surprised that even the hair dryer was great, it wasn't a cheap con air. It was actually a more expensive brand and worked very well.
The restaurant within the hotel was great. Their food tasted very fresh. It was neat. The food tasted very good. I had both breakfast, and dinner. Both different meals were very good. The alcoholic beverages were also great. The Lynchburg Lemonade with Jack Daniels is a must to try. Their classic flat bread is great along with their chicken wings they taste very good. Also the pork-chop entree was amazing. I like my meat cooked well done and the way they did it medium rare was just like well done. It has little to no fat but juicy enough to make it mouth watering. Their mash potatoes weren't the old brown ones but the red ones that are actually of better quality and tasted very good. The breakfast is also very good. Their home fries are good with the eggs and buttered toast with bacon. The toast was lightly toasted with just enough butter. The home fries weren't undercooked but cooked perfectly and went along great with the scrambled eggs and bacon. Their pancakes are also very good. They taste like actual buttermilk pancakes. Their sodas are straight from the can not a fountain. The only thing I didn't really enjoy as much was the cornflake French toast it wasn't as good. But everything else was great the staff was very pleasant in the restaurant.
The waiter that helped me during the night I remember her being a Spanish woman with square glasses and from Central American decent. She was amazing I would recommend her as a great waiter. She's fast and efficient. I appreciated how kind but professional she was. I wanted to order a bottle of something sparkling and she helped me in getting a sample and that helped me make the right choice of what to purchase for the night. She also made sure the food I took to go was organized properly and that I didn't miss anything. I also thought the blonde hair supervisor was good I saw her sort of directing her staff firmly but respectfully. Which I think is very good. The only one staff member I believe could've brought down the reputation of this hotel was a lady named Monique I believe at the front desk. I remember speaking with her over the phone regarding a room service. And she believed bickering and acting all emotional was the correct response to what I was asking for.
Other than that this hotel was great sadly it's the only good representation of Newark,NJ.
Stay here a lot. Always a comfortable quiet hotel with good food.
The staff helped my grandma reach her final destination and cared for her while her flight was delayed. Excellent service. Best hotel ever!
Attended an event at the hotel, the location is visually lovely, but parking, access to the hotel and the cost of food onsite, makes the venue much less than ideal
Massive crowds, long queues, slow service and kept being put into the slowest lines.
Very clean and organized airport. Smaller but more welcoming than LaGuardia
The most outdated and confusing airport. given the size and proximity to the big apple it should be held to higher standard.
Newark Airport is showing it's age. Long lines at security, uncomfortable chairs in boarding area, not enough food choices. While EWR is convenient to land to get into NYC, when you're flying out the wait may not be worth it if you have a long wait.
Very nice hotel within a close distance from the airport. Restaurant has great food choices. Rooms are nice and comfortable with cozy relaxing beds.
The burgerplace at gate 126-128 was one of the worst burgers ever. Really bad customerservice and way to high prices for the food
It's an airport hotel, what more do you want. Great bartender.
Very convenient location. It is private event I was attending, event area was clean, staff was very helpfully on few interaction I had. The map, the sign, environment was excellent.
I checked in last night (Oct 8th and am only staying one night and I got room 705. For the price I paid I expected better. On first look it's great but quickly things get noticed like the shower door not staying straight closed and allowing a lot of water to escape flooding the bathroom and into the entry way, the bathroom door that doesnt close and looks like a long time of water damage to the bottom and maybe even a dog or two chewing at it, the neat little table that is adjustable that doesnt stay in a usable position on the couch, the uSB plugs that are broken and unusable. And I can continue on with the many maintenance issues I had in my room. It was quite annoying. I booked via Hotel Power where this king sized bedroom was advertised as a city veiw (it's an airport veiw directly looking at the control tower) it Lso said there would be a microwave and free wifi. Which there is not. Wifi is only free if you book directly from Marriot. The bed is not very comfy. It's actually pretty hard and that meant I didnt get a goodnight sleep.
Very friendly staff, clean facility and accommodations.
The location is close to the airport, but I find it maddening that it is not walkable from the terminals. It is only a 5 minute walk from the terminal, but the traffic patterns and the hotel prevent one from walking safely. Instead, you have to wait for the hotel shuttle to loop you around to the hotel or pay a cab. Otherwise, the hotel lobby and meeting areas seemed clean and up to date.
The most convenient hotel for in between flights @ EWR. Shuttle runs 24/7 and picks you up outside every terminal. The staff is friendly and has a stow away feature for your bags. Overall an excellent pick if you are traveling.
I would have given it four stars but the front desk never answered any of my several attempts to call them.
I can't find better fares from any other departure airport in the area. Access in a d out is not too bad. Parking rates are what they are, meaning not cheap.
Everything is clean but there's always *something* wrong with the rooms here. 2 years ago it was the thermostat, this time it's the Internet TV giving error 702. Average at best but at least the restaraunt downstairs is good. The location is the only real reason to stay here.
Host for The 22nd Annual Cancer Survivor's Day Celebration of Life was
sponsored by Newark Beth Israel RWJ/BARNABAS and Rutgers Health.
Awesome room Service along with very nice style and design. They have a Cafe, and private dining too!!! Just a quick note, it'll save you lots of time if you just walk to the hotel than public transportation due to construction
Great service and close to the airport if you have a flight cancellation
Really nice hotel I must say. Not a fan of Marriott hotels because they are expensive and basic. Recently renovated with great entertainment. The only negative is how expensive their food is. Toast and eggs is like $17. Really? On what planet? That's breakfast for 2 weeks for goodness sake.
This airport is convenient and functional. The employees are very helpful in providing me with information and directions.
Can t beat the convenience and the modern amenities of this place. The inside restaurant is really great too. Windows are soundproofed so you can t even hear the jets.
Clean hotel, friendly and good service - a little more expensive. Big minus point: No free WiFi for non-Marriott members. That is absolutely out of date.
(Review is of airport, not the hotel.) I have been to EWR numerous times over the years. In pre-9/11 days it was possible in the daytime for someone to gain entry to the airside of Terminal C without a ticket, but not at night. Also, after major snowstorms, the airport was a mess: luggage everywhere, long delays getting into the concourse while sitting on the tarmac, etc. And it was pretty crowded during holiday season. However, lines were much shorter in the early am, and the airport isn't as crowded then. (Terminals A and B are older terminals, and so they have that old-terminal feel, smaller and cozier than the more modern Terminal C, although this does not apply to the International part of Terminal B.) This airport is tricky to navigate in an automobile, although it's easier by transit (there's a monorail) and courtesy van. Shops are largely landside in the older terminals and airside (that is, past security) in Terminal C.
Went In for a drink just waiting for a friend and the staff was very kind and attended fast. If you're staying here, definitely have to check them out!
Good hotel
Expensive on breakfast and not much vegetarian option and hot food
Considering the crowd and Holidays, we got through security pretty fast.
Employees leave their trash behind. Health inspector should check out the dust
I love what they have done with the reception area. Very elegant and welcoming. There's order to get to the "front desk" without you standing and feeling awkward. Employees move quickly and are pleasant. It's great to see so many different things to do while waiting to take care of whatever you need to. Good job, Marriott.
The rooms are beautiful, 10/10 with service from the employees and the food is absolutely perfected. Would love to stay there before my flight takes off for a couple nights.
Beautiful hotel, stayed here for a work event. Rooms were clean, staff was fantastic. Would stay here again If I ever need to!
Attended a conference today. Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean and appealing interior. Bathroom very clean. I believe charging $7 hour to park is ridiculous. Thankfully the company who sponsored conference paid for parking. Need a large clear sign off exit from NJ Turnpike directing people to the hotel
I only stayed one night at the Airpot Marriott (airconditioned after a rebooking) - and enjoyed it. The food was good, and the room was very appealing for an airport hotel.
Went there for a wedding. Extremely clean, lovely ballrooms, and great bar.
best place to stay, nice room and great services provided
There breakfast is banging, Chicken Sausage and Pork Bacon with Pancakes or Waffles.
Weird stains on the bed, torn sheets. Odd service, some of it's great, and the other are silent and withdrawn interactions
The location is perfect. It's right in front of the airport, so if you're travelling or attempting to business visit at the airport, then this is your hotel. The hotel itself is very nice and comfortable, the employees are very friendly
Small but comfortable rooms. Our room was very clean. Friendly, helpful staff. This is one of the nicer airport hotels I've stayed at. We did the 'stay one night and leave your car at the hotel while you are gone' package, it was less expensive than parking at the closest lot to the airport for us.
My wife and I stayed in a room with a single kingsized bed. We we're placed in a handicap accessible room despite not requesting or requiring such accommodations. We were also placed in a room with an adjoining suite and could clearly hear the television in the next room over.
Beautiful reception ballroom. However, service could be improved.
Alright folks. So, if you come to NJ, DO NOT STAY HERE. First we had issues checking in with the front desk staff who were so rude. The first uh lady-person actually told us to wait for someone else cause she was "done with us." (My mom is even a Marriott Rewards member, and that did not seem to matter one bit..) Well, we got checked in, went about our plans to explore the city. Great.
Then this morning, bright and early, the emergency fire system is blaring so we get up and start leaving, my mom is next door so she's right behind. Our friend and her family already headed to the airport and my soon to be mother in law, sister in law, and little cousin on another floor higher up. So as we are evacuating, as people do during a fire alarm, we call to make sure they are getting out ok. And guess what.... THE ALARM DIDN'T GO OFF ON THIER FLOOR. WHAT?! We think it's a fluke, so we go in to tell the desk about it and the lady told him that it was triggered on the ground floor so only some floors get evacuated. UM NO MA'AM, all the floors should be.
This is absolutely wrong, they told us if the fire or emergency was bigger the other floors would be evacuated. Oh good so I just have to wait for a bigger problem to get the rest of my family out. Cool.
I can't believe this on a hotel that charges an arm and a leg for a room. There should be much nicer front desk staff, and proper emergency reaponse protcals and alarm system. I'm just dumbfounded that this happened here. We will not be back.
Unfortunately, I had to book with DoubleTree By Hilton in Newark, due to no availability practically every where on this particular weekend. However, DoubleTree could not honor their prepaid confirmed reservation with their customer and have arranged for us to stay at this Marriott. The Front desk staff was amazing and accommodated us without complaint. The room was comfortable and clean. However, the first impression starts at the front desk, and Marriott does not have an issue with that, they were so nice, understanding, and willing to extend a welcoming invite to their hotel. Thank you so much for what started out to be a terrible experience to making our trip the best. Thank you!!!!!! I would stay here anytime we are in town.
They took good care of my Beautiful Gold & Diamond luggage....ty ;-)
What an experience. Their own food employees leave their trash left behind from their meal??? Health inspectors need to peep this place
Solid hotel...good staff. Good for small business meetings.
Easy to navigate, employees are friendly, easily approachable and very helpful. Bathrooms are clean!!
Nice place, nice sports bar, no free eifi in the room.
Absolutely fantastic hotel. Whole hotel seems brand new and is recently renovated. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and fantastic showers in the bathroom. The main ballroom is beautiful and a great place for hosting an event.
Most comfortable beds, quietest room at a busy airport
A very good, solid representation of the Marriott brand. Very convenient to Newark Airport. But the best item is the service you receive from their staff!!!!! Front desk and restaurant experiences were both EXCELLENT
Good rooms with minor flaws
Good food in the restaurant.
Very friendly and professional staff. Impeccably clean. Nice restaurant and bar. Awesome fitness center. The bed, pillows and linens were very nice and comfortable. Convenient location right next to the airport.
Father had a missed connection and was stuck here. The United Airlines employee at the gate refused to help.
NO POOL
I JUST CALLED
Very powerful government security forces for the world. Thank you
Relaxing place, not too crowded. Complementary breakfast with a nice wiew of the city. We enjoyed our say and the staff was very proffesional
The hotel was nice but airport shuttle ran almost 20 minutes late in the morning and was so full it left a number of customers behind. Needed another van at that time of day.
