Went there with my advanced English course as a study trip. We walked around as groups of 5 roughly.
It was very nice there, although a bit easy to get lost (our own fault). 'Guards' there are friendly, one of them came up to us and told us some fun facts.
There is an escalator (lift) as well as food.
Overall pleasant experience.

It was pretty good but the current construction work kept me from seeing as much art as I wanted to. Also the layout of the gallery is kinda unclear. I didn't know if there just wasn't that much national art in the gallery or if I somehow couldn't find my way to the next hall.

Much more modest than the Prado in Madrid or the Louvre in Paris, it is a cozy museum with some valuable pieces in its permanent collection, and interesting interesting news in its temporary collections.

A pleasant place to visit and take in some immense works of art.

It is great that for the months of July and August, the gallery is offering free guided tours of the most notable pieces (including works of Monet, Caravaggio) every weekday at 2:30pm. Would recommend this for any visitors, even if you are new to the world of art.

Newly revonated to an impeccable standard. A massive improvement. Gorgeous building with some very interesting and beautiful paintings. Well worth a visit. Has a handful of painting from well-known masters and if you are an Irish person you will get to see many paintings you are familiar with. The pictures are well presented including the information beside each piece.

A great selection of European paintings from 14th century to mid 20th century. Important examples of their period (Vermeer, Rembrandt, Picasso etc) and lesser well known artists. All with free admission and housed in impressive architecture - what's not to love?

National gallery of art, there are many paintings and exhibitions from the most classic to futurism.
The exhibition is quite dispersive and is the only drawback of the experience. Free entry. So if an exhibition is free, everything is fine.

Nice museum. Well kept. Salt vast, divided by ages. Obviously different rooms dedicated to Irish artists. Among the best known painters Picasso, a Monet, a Caravaggio (not reported in the works do not miss the museum guide), Renoir. We were with the kids, I did not think of going there, instead being close to the natural history museum and being free entry we entered. They took their audio guide (sin only in English) and enjoyed their visit. There is also a creative area for children, where they can draw with the material made available. And then a great bar!

Every city needs some good free galleries and this is more centrally located than Dublin's other major art museums. Sadly, but to be expected, quality of art exhibits just cannot compare to other museums across Europe (Spain, France, UK etc). It s worth visiting and revisiting for Dubliners but skippable for a tourist especially if well travelled.

Really nice, big, and easy to get lost in. It is great for any art lover. I usually like art museums but found this one a tad bit boring. None the less, it's free so I recommend checking it out!

A wonderful museum - with free entrance. A must see for anyone even remotely interested in art. My personal highlight of the collection (which is great overall) is Caravaggio's Taking of the Christ.
