Not really modern, but clean. Inside was a little busy, buy it was easy to find right screen with the help of the stuff. Great sound quality and a cinema hall is cozy.

Very comfortable seats. Found it a bit strange to have the popcorn stand away from the box office. Also walkwd past it twice before i realised where it was. The coffee is great though.
Comfortable cinema with a bar and coffee shop showing a good range of 'art house' films.
Great place to see a movie. The cafe is lovely, and I just love the quirky artistic atmosphere of the whole theater.
a gem hidden in smith field, nice cinema with outstanding design
Great late night showings; drinks, movies, shooting at the screen. Good craic.
Experience a quality cinema evening, like you never had before ! Great location, plenty of choice for cafes and restaurants/bars. And it's the same price as any other places
Considering how few cinemas there seemed to be in Dublin, the Lighthouse was a pleasant place to catch a couple of Japanese Film Fest flicks (even if the films themselves were misses).
There's a nice atmosphere in this cinema. Several spaces inside to meet up before/after a film to have a drink or even a bite to eat.
One of the coolest movie theaters I ve ever been to. A must-visit place in Dublin.
Great cinema. Very well designed and different from your average cinema. Has a great selection of arthouse movie's and blockbuster's. They also do special parties for new releases where fancy dress is encouraged. They also do special seasons and festivals. Arrive early as seating is non reserved but you can enjoy a beer or glass of wine while you wait. Owned and operated by Element pictures one of Irelands leading independent movie and TV producers.
First time I visited! Great choice of movies, both Irish and foreign.
Best programme of films in Dublin.Good projector. Excellent cafe. Very helpful staff. Sometimes audio can be 1 frame out of sync in Screen 3.
Got to attend a screening of Lord of the Rings Marathon (Extended Edition, of course!) It was absolutely brilliant with a special Hobbit-themed catering menu. Great atmosphere. Can't wait for the next one.
Great cinema used also as a gallery/event space. If the choice of films won't intrigue you enough for a visit the interesting architecture will.
Seats are unbelievably comfortable with a sweet aesthetic accompanied by vibrant, contrasting colours. The cinema in general just has a lovely, warm atmosphere. Definitely the best, most unique cinema I've ever been to. Hands down.
Lovely cinema.
Seats so comfy
Really enjoy coming here, it's much better than your standard big chain cinema. Very reasonably priced with special movie days, showing old films like E.T & Back to the Future. I was too young to visit the cinema and watch these flicks on the big screen, so now to have the opportunity to now is greatly appreciated!
The seats are really comfortable and the way they are positioned mean you won't miss a thing even if you have a tall person with an afro sitting in front of you. The decor inside the foyer is really nice it's very modern looking and well lit with plenty of seating and a cafe to grab a coffee while maybe waiting for friends
Nice movies but seats are not so comfortable.. Please renew them! :)
A great boutique cinemas that offers films not usually taken up by bigger chain cinemas. Shows foreign and local films alike. Also great for festivals and date nights.
I went to see the documentary about Alexander McQueen, it was a wonderful experience. Being in the lighthouse feels like no other cinema, it feel like I'm right at home. The lighthouse is about celebrating art on the big screen and sharing the experience of cinema with others.
If you haven't been already, trust me, you're missing out.
Excellent cinema, choice of film, staff, location, bar and great food. Love the place.
Lovely cinema. Great food and drink options that you can bring into the film. Good bike parking options nearby too.
A lovely cinema full of awesome events. This is a lovely place to go see a film.
Excellent cinema. Can purchase alcohol which is a plus when you have kids and rarely get out
Comfy cinema, people here really care about film and it shows. Really cool atmosphere for watching films.
Great cosy cinema, and the bar is a fantastic addition!
Given my general dissatisfaction with my local cinemas, I have taken a number of chances on the lighthouse and have consistently enjoyed my experience of it.
While I still do occasionally watch mainstream cinema, the lighthouse quenches my thirst for something far moreso, offering the really only decent place in Dublin to watch arthouse, independent, foreign and classic cinema and even in rare cases, Japanese animation on the big screen.
Additionally the staff genuinely do feel as if they know what they're talking about and enjoy their jobs , one member was kind enough to offer me a class of free water when I was feeling ill.
As well as this, the cinema is cleaner than others and there has never been any problems in the way of misbehaving patrons, a member of staff is generally always on watch by the door .
They also sometimes get in actors/directors/guests to q/a before/after the film .
The only real catch is its sort of expensive, you can't really get any buttered popcorn and it isn't in the handiest of locales but it proves worth the price and trip.
Great cinema with a great atmoshpere. I love the selection of movies you can't find in the multiplex.
Bright, beautiful, great staff. Bar upstairs and down with places to chill b4 & after your movie. Great selection and great location. Love this place.
Gorgeous cinema, always has great films showing. Their seasons are excellent too, great to see older films on the big screen. Food and drinks are great. Seats are comfy, cinema is always clean and warm enough.
Great place, great shows here. Went to Rigoletto live from the Royal Opera House, FANTASTIC. Nice little cafe & great staff.
Located in the gorgeous Smithfield, I love this cinema. Drink some wine, catch a film, eat in one of the nearby restaurants. Great way to spend an evening.
Love this place! Great art house offering some really different options.
Excellent cinema - airy, bright, clean, with art-house and independent films. Great popcorn too. :)
Always a great experience. Comfortable, clean, very helpful staff and gorgeous coffee.
Great cinema, lovely building, always a good atmosphere and staff, wonderful selection of films
My favourite cinema in Dublin, hands down. I stopped going to a lot of other cinemas because of how inconsistent the viewing experience was, so I can guarantee that this is where you go for a consistently great experience, every time. The seating, image, sound and the wonderfully stocked lobby just add up to make it perfect. It helps there is a table tennis table downstairs while you wait.
Lovely atmosphere, shows indie/foreign films you probably won't see in other more mainstream cinemas and even does theme film series (ie Kubrick season)
There's a nice little coffee shop and even a bar so you can have a beer with your popcorn and movie! Also it costs much less than other cinemas (popcorn does not cost the same as a meal out!)
Behind the Door wonderful silent film with beautifully scored music a must see for any film buff
Very good cinama with relaxing before/after the movie
only bee once but had a good time they just need to sort out the seating
There's always a nice selection of films here.
And it's in a nice little spot to grab some food or a drink.
The "Token" Barcade isn't too far away either.
Good place to catch movies that may not be on general release. Has turned nights throughout the month as well, most recently I caught a Bruce Lee classic during their 'Grindhouse' night. You can also buy alcohol and drink it during your show as well
My first time visiting the Lighthouse Cinema . I was expecting a small little insignificant cinema. Its plush, modern and a very snazzy spot indeed. Very impressed.
The fairest prices for food and drink I've seen in a cinema! Very cool spot
Great cinema... Shows more Indie movies rather than mainstream.. Nice restaurant too.. Highly recommended
Beautiful surrounding in a very nice and enjoyable atmosphere. All the staff is helpful and friendly. Really nice crowd there too - and no over lively teenagers. Lovely relaxed areas to enjoy an drink before, after or during the movie.
This is a great cinema located in picturesque Smithfield. Its got an old school cinema theatre feel to it with modern decour and state of the art screens. Its also one of the few cinemas in de city that will show films and not just movie blockbusters. Moderatly priced but not cheap.
I love the lighthouse. Super comfortable seating, lovely staff, great choice of films, bar and food. Can't fault it :)
Fantastic cinema, really cool layout, nice crowd, and some limited release movies
Beautiful rooms with artistic decorations, perfect food and great movies
Fablous place to go and see a film.lovely coffee shop
Beautiful cinema, clean and comfortable, friendly staff and nice atmosphere
it's a lovely cinema but the directions to the place are very bad if you aren't familiar with the area. The directions kept sending me to queen's street and Blackhall place and it was only when I had given up and was walking randomly around that I stumbled across it. directions from the luas stop should just say that it's straight down and on the left!
My favourite cinema in Dublin, great place to go. Very reasonably priced too! The staff are all very friendly and helpful!
Amazing place that l just discovered, even films.at 23:00 what's is great for busy people with kids.
Perfectly designed, full of eye catching details. Perfect size of screens and different movie theaters, comfortable seats. Beside and most of all selection of movies that are not the most commercial but you can see there a quality movies .
Comfortable, clean relaxing and delightful. A model which is well worth a visit!
It's wow when you enter, the seats are comfortable & the staff are lovely
Love going to the cinema here. Comfortable, clean, great cafe.
Good cinema, shows movies that are hard to find in Dublin
