NASA Wallops Flight Facility Review

The visitor's center focuses on things Wallops does that are not done by other NASA facilities. If you go outside, take bug spray. The flies find people to be tasty.

Can watch rocket launches from bleachers out back. An audio speaker let's you hear the technicians checking systems and preparing for launch.

Went here to view a launch, so I can't say anything about the overall visitor center, but the viewing area was good. The parking lot fills up fast, so lots of people just parked on the street.

It s free and informative. A great place to learn about the history and what they do at Wallops Island.

Nice place to visit if you are in the space program. Very friendly staff. Informative displays. Ample parking, except when there is a major launch of a large rocket. Insects can be bothetsome, so put on some repellant.

Went during open to public anniversary, employees answered all the questions, happy to see tax dollars going to research that actually matters.

The space flight museum is free and includes small theaters to explain the operation of the fabrication and launch facility and displays of historic items. It's self guided with ample parking. I suspect school tours are regularly scheduled, as well. Anyone interested in space flight will enjoy the facility. The actual facility is across the road and tracking equipment is clearly visible. I noticed bleachers and suppose that launch viewing is open to the public from there. It would be a spectecular view. It would be a shame to drive past without taking a look.

Great info on whats going on with Wallops Island and Nasa as a whole. Especially like the Mars exhibit.

There were some renovations going on , but it was still a fun and interesting stop.

Neat small spot to stop by if you on the way somewhere else. Can't be compared to the one in Cape Canaveral since it's very tiny

Some nice interactive exhibits. A few activities for the younger crowd. A good gift shop. Wear bug spray to enter....lots of mosquitoes at the entrance.

Great little place to learn about the local NASA programs being conducted there.

It was free to get in. And would be great for children. It has a lot of interactive displays. Very interesting.

Informative and interesting. We enjoyed the exhibits. A good place for school aged kids and adults alike.

A fairly small but well equipped visitor centre based just outside the NASA Wallops Flight Facility. Plenty of space for viewing the launches from across the water. Parking can be an issue and on launch days it will clog up the road for miles, we were gridlocked for half an hour a mile or two outside of Chincoteague. When it is quieter it s worth stopping by.

Great place to go if u like space just got watch out for kids running around

Small museum and many of the interactive things were not working. However, they did have a number of really interesting things. Plan for a 30-45 minute visit and you'll be good.

What a great place to visit! It's free, and there are great exhibits inside and out.

It's a must to visit this place if you're in the area. It's free, with live demonstrations, we shot moke misses into space, my daughter loved it. Souvenir shop is reasonable.

One of the many NASA visitor centers. This NASA headquarters deals with the control and preparation of necesaari missile carriers to bring satellites and spaceships out of the atmosphere and weather conditions. The picxolo museum is very beautiful, free and of great interest. Definitely worth a visit.

Exhibits are getting much-needed upgrades (thanks to a grant) which are directly related to the work done at the facility. Every month they hold science programs, so check the website. Gift shop closes during the winter months. Good viewing spot for launches, but it gets crowded early.

Super cool! Went with my wife and mother in law and had a lot of fun. Very educational with awesome visuals. A very welcoming atmosphere and no cost! Being able to walk onto the roof is a cool bonus as well as the amount of Pokestops if Pokemon is your thing.

Came for an Anteres launch. Awesome. They opened the visitor center museum and store early as well. Very nice.

There wasnt much to do there and the things were really expensive

I really enjoyed being here. The staff was very nice and informative. I will come back here if I am ever in the area.

Nice place to visit with kids. Informative displays and it's nice that there are some life sized sounding rocket displays too.

This is an amazing interactive educational experience that costs zero dollars to enjoy! I brought along 4 kids and everyone had a great time! They had numerous telescopes and very educated individuals that volunteered their time to share their knowledge of the moon and astronomy with the kids. Such a great time! Thank you, NASA!

Great place to take kids to learn about the NASA station at Wallops Island.

By far one of the coolest places I took my family while vacationing in Virginia. The bonus, we got to watch a rocket being launched into outer space. Definitely a neat spot to check out!

Excellent educational opportunity for the family. You can get up close to some very historical sounding and orbital rockets. Can't wait to see what they have in store for the new education facility they're working on for the future.

If you're in the area, I recommend taking a visit here even if NASA isn't exactly your taste. You'll see strange planes flying all over Chincoteague and you can learn about them here. The models they have out to see and exhibits are definitely nice and interactive too!

Came there while there were no events. Nothing spectacular. A few rockets here and there. I would go if i was passing close to it.
