Great location. Everything was great, except the bed.
Almost a fourth star for staff quality (fantastic). Good location. For the rest quite normal for a small hotel. Value for money is good
Hotel well located, clean and comfortable. Super friendly staff, always willing to help and facilitate your stay.
+ nice staff
-very small dusty room
-bad Internet
-Air conditioning not working properly
-Breakfast no buffet
On the whole, this hotel is not recommended.
Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Gorgeous rooms in a great location.
Great location, staff are friendly professional and very knowledgeable about the area. Rooms are extremely clean, well presented and include all we need for a comfortable city break. Surprisingly very very quiet at night, great nights sleep!
The hotel is well placed for the museum area of Amsterdam and has a number of nice cafes locally. The dining area with is certainly cosy but offer enough in the way of tea, coffee and food in the mornings. The room we stayed in was in the basement, with no natural lighting. It was large and well decorated with a small minibar and small bathroom. The staff were wonderful and helpful. However, we were woken up by horrific drilling noises coming from the hallway and our air conditioning unit made random clicking noises from time to time. For the price, it was great, but loud noises in the morning from maintenance staff are unforgivable in a hotel.
Overall a reasonable but not a great stay. Location was not too bad- near a tram stop but otherwise quite far out of town- about a 30/40 min walk to the centre city. Room was clean but a bit cramped. We enjoyed access to a nespresso machine and a few free minibar drinks which were refilled daily- a nice addition. Do not stay here if you want to have access to the internet- the internet does not work and if it does it is frustratingly slow unless you are using it at 2am. We mentioned to the staff a few times who didn't seem to care and said that this has been a problem for months with many other people making complaints and management hasn't done anything about it. Also the shower is quite small and an awkward shape. This place is NOT worth what you pay for it.
room was okay, breakfast was disappointing. Many in pre-packaged containers and so on. It is very simple to create a much more experience there.
Excellent price quality. Small but modern rooms. Free minibar. Great breakfast.
Nice Hotel right on the center. good breakfast and nice clean rooms
Friendly staff, warm room, comfortable bed, satisfactory minibar .... I recommend it
I booked a room at this hotel for 4 nights for a fair price. I could not make the trip due to a family emergency. I did not want a refund. I just wanted to travel a few weeks later, still during the hotel 'low' season. It took less than 10 seconds for this request to be rejected. I got back some of the money from the booking site but still feel ripped off, like I was robbed. As a Canadian, the country that liberated Amsterdam in WWII, I find this particularly offensive. Where is the famous Dutch flexibility? Greed is ugly. A poor performance.
Dirty toilets and sewage smell coming from the bathroom drains on the rooms on the 5th floor. Sheets has holes in them as did towels! Horrific. The manager recognised the foul smell issue and we had to be moved to a different hotel which was 30 minutes away from museumplein when there were other 3 star hotels of similar prince 300m from where we were. All in all I would say AVOID if we you can!
Very welcoming staff and breakfast to advise! Everything is great for a romantic weekend. Only problem, the price compared to the size of the rooms ...
I stayed 2 nights in the muse. It was a lovely stay. The staff were so lovely. The accommodation was homely and Clean
Good room.key card works power so fridge only started when we were in room.
We loved our stay in this Hotel. Since we arrived we realised that we have been a good choice. It is not the most luxury hotel, but has little details that make you happy as a guest. The personal was friendly, and as soon we arrived they offered us a welcome drink :) the minibar in the room was free, the room was very cosy and in general the hotel was very clean.
Additionally, the hotel is a 3 min walking from one tram stop, and has air conditioner which is very useful in summer.
super hotel in the city. Very friendly staff. Very personal.
Very good hotel, good breakfast and very friendly staff
I really surprised how much professional they are. I feel like I'm at home! Thanks :)
Don't fall for the noisy basement rooms with the breakfast/24 hour coffee room above them. They also have the the elevator and the stair door banging too. Two of the three basement rooms have large windows which is good if you enjoy having everyone on the breakfast terrace looking straight down into your room.
Good bed, Good bathroom, good towels, espresso machine and tea 24 hours a day in the breakfast room, Nespresso in the rooms and good location.
Indifferent meagre breakfast for 12/person.
Very dim lighting in the rooms only one chair, one bed light, not really comfortable for two people if they want to sit, type, drink coffee or read at the same time.
Our main complaint though is that when we booked it said the only thing available was comfort room basement, turns out that this is a different class of room from comfort room upstairs. We asked by phone the day before and again when we checked in for a different room.
"No we are fully booked, sorry"
The today the noise started in the breakfast room over our heads at 6a.m. and we asked again for another room.
"No we are fully booked, sorry, maybe tomorrow night. You booked a basement comfort room" When we pointed out it doesn't say it is a basement room under the breakfast room and it costs the same as a comfort room upstairs the manager Ahmet said "Well it doesn't say the hotel is on a street either or that there are other buildings around it".
So stay if there is nothing else in the area but don't fall for the noisy basement rooms.
Our hotel room was good overall, the stay was ok. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to the main museums and 30 minutes from the central square of Amsterdam. The rooms were very tidy and free access to espresso coffee and daily refilled cold drinks in the room was a nice addition, however, the internet was unbearable. The internet was slow and would constantly struggle to connect, even googling to find a good restaurant to eat at would be near impossible. When we complained to the receptionist she mentioned that they have had constant complaints for the past few months and there was still nothing done about it, they didn t seem to care at all and would just say there was nothing they could do. Overall the place was nice and clean and was close enough to the main tourist areas to be able to walk but the trouble with the internet and the staff not caring does not make this place worthwhile.
Great location. Friendly staff. The free mini bar that was replenished daily was a nice touch :)
Looked like a lovely little hotel, I have to add we didn't stop there dut went there for breakfast (About 12 euro each so much cheaper that the 28 euro our hotel wanted) the food was adequate and nice the staff were lovely and very helpful (we got our times wrong and arrived after Breakfast had finished 11am weekends, 1030 am weekdays and they were brilliant and still fed us lol)
Amazing place for a relaxing stay. The staff was very kind, they offer us a cup of prosecco at the reception which was the beginning of a pleasing stay.
The room was absolutely clean and agradable, it had everything you need, it is modern and well located. I would definitely come back!
Staff were very friendly upon arrival and the location is really good, but that s where the boutique experience ended. The walls are very thin. You can hear everything below, above and next to you. Smoke wafted in from people smoking on their deck next to us. The rooms are clean but tiny not enough room for two people to walk by each other and no room on the floor and no closets for suitcases.
Stayed in the comfort room which was on the small side. The room , shower and toilet were clean. Soda's, water and coffee in the room are for free. It can be quite warm at night so you need to either turn the A/C or open the window. Breakfast was a 7 out of 10.
Perfect location Outside the center and therefore more quiet. It is in front of the Museumplein and in 10 min you are in the center.
The hotel is explendido. Small rooms but decorated with very good taste and very clean.
The best Bella, a kitten that is inside the hotel at ease.
Very advisable
Lots of great things about this place: good location to museums and tram, mini fridge stocked and FREE(!!), clean, attractive decor, actual air conditioning unit, and kind and helpful staff.
Our room was pretty small, breakfast was extra (but you still have free coffee downstairs 24/7), and you only get one key. That's pretty much it; there's not much to complain about! Was a good stay.

Fantastic. Clean and well-run hotel with a good breakfast. It is not too expensive and in 20 minutes by bus you get to Damrak
I slept here a few days ago and found the hotel to be excellent I just want to make a mention about the night receptionist. I had gone out and was so drunk that I fell asleep in the hall the receptionist had found me and was so nice to take me to my room when you read this I just want to thank you very much!
The hotel has taken advantage of a weak situation in which we could not do anything for its own benefit, which seems to me a lack of education and ethics. We will not be back.
Stayed in a small twin room. While small it had everything you needed. Nespresso machine and some free drinks and snacks in the mini bar. The bathroom was tiny, but again comfortable enough to use and even had a bath and shelf for toiletries. The beds are very soft and comfy. Decent size closet. Only negative? You can hear everything going on around the hotel, plumbing, chair moving, we were located next to the elevator too. Earplugs were provided thankfully. Overall a very enjoyable experience
The hotel is small, including the rooms which are quite small (which is quite common in Amsterdam), is in a great location: 7 minutes walk from the museum square, a minute's walk to public transportation for two directions, restaurants 1-3 min.
Very nice place. It's a small hotel right down the street from the Van Gogh museum and IAMSTERDAM sign. The place is very clean. Bed is not very comfortable, which was really the only downfall of this hotel. Free Nespresso in the room which was nice. If I were to do Amsterdam again, I would definitely consider going here again.
Everyone sees with his / her eyes and I tell what I saw with my eyes.
Although the hotel was located in the heart of Amsterdam, it was a very quiet and safe location. From the entrance there were candles that decorated the surroundings in the afternoon and evening. The hotel may seem small, but it is very well protected with a huge amount of cameras, so you will lose something or forget it.
Moreover, you get almost all the supplies that you request for free.
The hotel also contains a very extensive, full and delicious breakfast (attachment), in addition to which you can kindly ask whether staff (star) could make a separate omelet or at least something similar. All this is paid in 12.50 per person and children (up to 16 according to me) eat for free.
There are free sweets everywhere and the kitchen is open 24/7 for free coffee and hot drinks (delicious hot chocolate).
My conclusion is that this hotel is highly recommended and if for some reason I will be back in Amsterdam, I know without a doubt where I can go.
Nice, small hotel. No chain, very individual and almost family. Good connection with trams and near the museums.
Excellent location, access to public transport, excellent service, comfortable and cozy room.
Location was great and the staff were so nice. Free tea and coffee all the time by reception and the free soft drinks in the mini bar which is replenished daily. Can't comment on the breakfast as we went to the small bakery around the corner but it smelt good! Beds were so comfy and there wasn't much noise even though ear plugs are supplied. Only issue I had was the shower/bathroom was so small but other than that it was perfect for our needs.
This hotel was nice and walkable. Everyone was nice except the night attendant. I wanted some tea and he told me No! I guess he didn t want to move out the way of him fixing a whole meal at 2 a.m
Lovely Boutique Hotel in the Museum neighborhood with adequate breakfast and good coffee. Easy walk to museums.
Exceptional clean hotel with welcoming staff, very good breakfast with free in-room mini bar. Rooms with good soundproofing, quiet hotel 10 minutes from museums on foot and near tram stop. In the rest of the day we will be able to use the coffee machine in both room in the breakfast room. Highly recommended.
Very well placed a few meters from metro 5 or 24 which joins in 15 / 20min the hyper center. The hotel is well decorated, clean, the staff very helpful and there is good coffee or tea at will. The standard rooms are very small, not much room for luggage, the bed was not comfortable and the pillows much too hard but it is a matter of taste. The rental bikes are ok but not really in good shape.
Central location, minutes from the gebauhuse theater, van gogh museum and rijksmuseum.
Super nice and very helpful staff.
Very comfortable, spacious, clean, warm and very welcoming rooms with free minibar inside!
It is possible to use the coffee tea cappuccino machine during the whole stay completely free !!!
And then ... Their super beautiful cat Bella, the star of the hotel !!!! 5 star stay for me I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to spend a week in Amsterdam!
Thank you hotel the muse!
Nice, clean and really centrally located hotel. The rooms are a bit small so I would not stay longer than a weekend book. The staff is very friendly and you are warmly welcomed. The city center is also within walking distance. Bigger drawback: Our room window could not open. The air conditioning works and makes nice cool replaced but not the fresh air we would have liked.
Just went there to drop off and pick up friends. The room was on the small side, in essence it's a very well taken care off hotel, efficiently designed to fit your overnight, or longer, stay. It may feel a bit cramped, but the majority of More
What great staff!! They will help you so much, very economical rooms. Great location!
Good service, attentive staff. Small but very cozy. Super indicate
The room is at the limit of survival there is no place to store luggage or clothes, not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia. The carpet and curtains are soaked in dust and it makes the air unbreathable, I managed to sleep for maybe an hour.
Such amazing staff, they went out of their way to welcome us. The rooms are small, but very clean and beautiful. Also, there is a hotel kitten.. How can they not get 5 stars?!
NOT recommended. I will start with good: location - quiet neighborhood about 20 min on the tram from main station. 20 min walk to Van Gogh museum/ State Museum. The BAD - Customer service! I was unfortunate to reserve non-refundable room. The circumstances were that I didn't make it for the period I book. Front desk tried to help, but manager would not budge. I had to make completely new reservation, they wouldn't reimburse me any $$$.
Room unclean, there were hair all over my room, grape brunches, trash can wasn't emptied and dust everywhere. I don't believe rooms are clean thoroughly. Beware of their customer service not from front desk people but Manager, who wouldn't even come out to talk to me. I would NOT recommend staying at the hotel
Great location!
Very friendly staff.
Nice enough. Good base for Amsterdam, near the tram and quiet area. Small rooms but nicely done. Small free extras make you feel welcome.
I didn't stay here, my friend did. I only left my luggage there
Really nice hotel, in the middle of town. Free minibar and good breakfast ( 12.50) with scrambled eggs and bacon and everything. Beds are fine and everything is clean. Definitly not a 5 star hotel, but it is pretty good for what you pay for.
Great service. Cosy feel to the hotel. Really relaxing
Nice boutique hotel for the price. Rooms were stylish but snug. The only drawback was there was no drawer in my room (not sure about others) so actually living out of suitcase for 6 nights. Not impossible and also not unheard of in Europe. Overall, a nice place. I'd go back.
Nice neighborhood... Small rooms but great garden, coffee, staff.
I booked a room last year but our flight got cancelled because the airport was closed due to the snow. I called to ask if there was any chance for me to go one week later and they said no! I know it was non refundable but I am a receptionist as well and I know they could have done something for me because the flight company did give me a ticket for 1 week later. It was a shame that we lost the money and they did not care to help us at all.
Sweet spot for a quiet city stay, very reasonable and affordable no frills accommodation with great service.
The Muse is brilliantly located for access to the museum square. There are many nice restaurants nearby, some with conveniently late service. No street noise. The hotel itself is small and compact. The staff at reception is friendly and helpful. Cleaning is phantomlike but efficient. Our room wasn't even that small after what I came to expect from online photos. The bathroom is compact, but efficient, stylish and spotless. Temperature is easily regulated through both heating and airco which is a major plus. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but it looked tempting enough. Overall a great choice at a competitive price.
Great hotel! Excepcional location, great rooms and complimentary coffee and hot chocolate!
Very good team - very clean hotel
Way cheaper than usual Amsterdam hotel and hostel.
Very happy about our stay
WE definitly wil come back
