My friend was accused of theft/abuser of system.

My friend was accused of theft/abuser of system.
I had a very unpleasant experience today at Mt. Hood Meadows.

We bought night tickets, and I asked for receipts, but they said, "it is in the computer system, so we don't give receipt anymore."

Second run at buttercup it was 3:10pm, the employee stopped us at the ski slope gate and asked my friend, "how old are you?" and then he said, "Computer shows that you are 5 years old. You can't buy or steal someone else's ticket and use it. It is a theft situation" Guess what. He called the safety manager. My friend provided his driver license and credit card. They checked the name and everything was matching except his age.

Even though it seems like it is a simple mistake at the ticket counter, Safety manager wanted to take us to the guest services supervisor, but we didn't want to waste our time, so I asked he to verify it on the phone. He said exactly, "I can't trust your word. If the ticket is belong to someone else, I'm going to call a cop. It is a misdemeanor crime."
I was so upset that my friend was accused of theft/abuser. We want to get a refund and just leave after verification. I would be just fine if they refund my friend's ticket only.

My question is who would sell their night ticket before 3:10pm when night skiing start at 3:00pm (only 10 min of skiing and then sell their ticket). When my friend bought the ticket, no one even asked how old he is. Let's say if Safety manager is right then, 5 years old person who has same name of my friend bought a night ticket using his credit card (5 year old person must own a credit card) and sold the ticket to my friend after 10 mins of skiing? It doesn't make sense.

In the service center while Ben, Guest services supervisor, was checking, I said, "after this because I feel very unpleasant about this, we want our money back. We are going to leave."
The safety manager said "why do you make everything hard? We are just checking. We won't refund your tickets. If you say one more thing, I will take your ticket and kick you out of here." yelled at us twice.
10 second of verification and birthday correction, Ben didn't even look at my friend's driver license and credit card. Ben admitted it was their mistake. I think this is too obvious to Ben that my friend bought the ticket. NO ONE APOLOGIZED, but all they said is have a good ride. We were upset, so we left the Meadows right away.

John L, Dept. of public safety manager, is aggressive and unprofessional. Not qualify for his job.

Why meadows stop giving receipts? It would haven't been a nightmare.

Fun!!!

Meadows is awesome, but DON'T WAIT to buy your lift tickets. They will charge you an unnecessary fee to run your card at the mountain for some stupid reason. Also bring your own lunch.

Pretty good slopes, but not always well-groomed. Courses and runs are consistently interesting and well-designed. Lifts are fast and modern. They always offer the latest models of Rossignol skis to rent, so don't worry if you didn't bring your own. The lodge is absolutely hideous, smells odd, and offers, at best, very mediocre food. Pales in comparison to pretty much every resort on Mt. Hood in that regard. Otherwise, it's got pretty good skiing for all levels, and offers good value for your money.

We had a blast doing the snowshoe trail the instructor was great and the group of people where friendly. It was a great way of getting a workout in the snow. After the walk we had dinner and the food was good. I highly recommend during this activity. Yes you are seeing a waterfall

Lift ops are horrible

Lift ops are horrible
And the meadows staff from parking attendants to front desk to the head honchos customer service is sorely lacking.
They
You don't get what you pay for with you unlimited season pass.... they say sorry can't fix it or help you
They stop your pass after you sit in a 45 min lift line so they can make you fill out statement to cover their liability because a lift jolt stops and throws a12 yr old girloff the chair
So you get reprimanded
Last season at this sub par "resort"loosely

I have a love/hate relationship with Meadows, as I'm sure many people do. The skiing can be really good, but it just gets so crowded on the weekends now, that it can be painful to fork over $75 for a day pass. The drive from Portland has gotten worse and worse, and if you don't arrive early enough, you may get shut out of the parking lots. I generally go via Hood River, or take the Meadows bus these days. Once you get there, you will find that the lodge is too small, overcrowded, dated, and, paradoxically, also labrythnine.

I've had a season pass in years past and I've gotten the spring pass, both of which make skiing here a pretty good deal. The terrain is pretty good, especially if Heather canyon and the private reserve are open (although private reserve is the first place to get slushy). A lot depends on snow conditions, like any ski resort, and Hood can be a real mixed bag. I've had some of the best pow days off my life here (I'm looking at you 2017) and some of the worst ice grinding, death cookie sketchiness of my life as well.

That said, I'll still see you up there.

They said they had chair spacing issues in Mt Hood Express, but didn t have that resolved until 11:30am. Like what were they doing all morning?
And then they wouldn t let anybody load MHX because they were afraid people would interfere with ski patrol evac ing people off Blue. How dumb do you think people are?
How is Meadows still in business.
Don t worry they gave us free hot chocolate coupons.
Time to get an AT setup and avoid Meadows at all costs.

Best resort on the mountain, it's more expensive sure, but it's the only place to go with non-stop terrain to explore for a full day of shredding snow. Great base area to rent gear, get food, or service equipment. The whole resort is in both sides of the mountain. What else could you want?

How can you rate the weather . Weather dependent, this week was awesome. The enthusiastic team at Meadows has kept the lifts running smooth and safety a priority through out the storm this week. Inside, the lodge is lack luster. I have spent too much time and money there and can verify a few things. The food is wildly overpriced for the inconsistent quality. The drinks follow suite (if you can get one before you are done with your meal). The service is far below what you would expect for the prices. They may even give a secret training on how to ignore the customer by never making eye contact and doing random busy work to avoid real work. I sat with a hot bowl of noodles and no silverware for over 20 minutes yesterday . Not so hot once I finally flagged down a fork.
On ski school, I will report later. The first four weeks of snoblaster program was a DISASTER. I do think they are trying to get some consistency worked out. We took February off and will report based on end of season feeling. We are hoping all kinks are worked out and March session will be the dream it sounded like when we signed up.
Driving to the resort is no problem, until you go to the exit and have to manuvare the Meadows maintained road... Very slippery even in our ride that handles the 26 and 35 like a boss.
Overall, Meadows still has the best terrain for our family with nice intervals for everyone's skill level. Parking is generally easy. For these reasons, we ride Meadows.

While I have gone to Meadows over the past two years, I ve grown to love their plot of land. What I don t love is how human infested it is due to overselling ski passes. Today, for example, the main lot is already full and has been since 8:30am, a half hour before it even opens. After hours of driving, if the lots are full upon arrival, you can either wait more hours in a car line with no bathroom or turn back around and go home. To top it off, the meadows lot workers have often been negative. It can be over an hour wait to sit and have a drink in the bar. The cafe coffee is horrid and many of the cafeteria food options are never open (taco shop). Waiting in line to get on the lift can be overwhelmingly long. I really do love so much about meadows. I think they could change easily and improve the experience of pass holders. They just need to stop overselling passes.

It was beautiful, the snow just kept on going down. The lesson instructors were great and the slopes were fun. On the other hand, do NOT go to the restraunt. We had to chase our waiter down to get water, we got our food, then we never saw her again. We had to flag down a different waiter just to get our check. Also, come early because we showed up at 9:00 a.m. and both parking lots were full and we had to wait an hour.

With one of the best ski resorts I've tried (lifts, slopes, cafe, etc.) and exceptional views, from 2225 meters above sea level, I can't help but recommend this fabulous place. 5/5 stars from me!

Meadows management in 2019/20 is the worst yet, and the worst I've seen in all my 30 years of skiing and snowboarding. Ran out of fuel at HRM lift during one of the busiest days of the season? This after an hour in a ticket line of 15 people because they need to verify the identity of everyone and take pictures, all just to ensure they collect every red cent possible. I'm done with this place.

You like snow? Well, this resort on the mountain, will give you your hearts desire of snow, all day long. You want to ski, well, be sure to take advantage of all the accommodations this facility has to offer. Care for some food, well, if it's food you want, well, you'll get it. Saw a note about service, well, given the amount of people that enjoy this place, it's understandable. It'd remind me of a day at the state fair, with bracelet day. What a crush of people or like the time i sold ice cream on the parade day with the sun beating down and I had only two hands.

We went here for their New Year's Eve party package and enjoyed night snowboarding from 3pm-midnight! It was quite crowded and busy, but we managed to find a run we liked that was nearly desolate, which was super nice. They had a lift that had a conveyor belt before you sit on the lift chairs, which was really strange. The ballroom carpet was adorable too, it's a complete conveyor belt for beginners, but we didn't go on that. The buffet was delicious, my roommate received a giant slice of prime rib! I swear it was the size of their arm, haha! I really enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and the little rice wrapped in banana leaf. The dessert wasn't as extravagant as I remember, but the rest of the evening was great. They shoot off fireworks around 10pm and you can watch them as you ride down the mountain or just take a pause in the snow anywhere you can get a nice view! Would probably go again, just wished it wasn't so crowded.

The snow was lovely. But it was very crowded. I've skied here since 1996. It has steadily grown more and more crowded to the point of unpleasantness, especially if one gets stuck in traffic. It is also pretty spendy ($150 for me and my kiddo). I love to ski, but these aspects are making me reconsider visiting the mountain...

We went for the July Brewers fest. They ran the first segment of the stadium express (to the right as you exit the back of the lodge). They still charged a full $16 per rider which seemed a little steep.
Not sure what was going on but everywhere in the lodge smelled like fish. That was pretty bad, but the food out back was pretty good.
Other than the venues there wasn't much else to do up there.

Horrible service in the alpenstube restaurant on 2-25-18 at about 5:30pm. The restaurant was NOT busy and was about half full.
We ordered two baileys - coffee drinks when we sat down. It took 20 minutes to get the drinks and when they arrived they were barely warm. We told the server and he did nothing, didn t offer to replace them. Then another server came up and she was arguing with him about who s section we were in. She was visibly irritated that he had taken our order and they both left our table without addressing the drink issue. After another 10 minutes or so the server came back and took our food order. We asked for more coffee to warm up our cold drinks but he never returned. Even after walking by our table three or four more times. (Two truffle fries) These came out faster but were cold. They were delivered from someone in the back, not our server. I finally got up and walked to the bar to get coffee refilled. The bartender got it for me but it was again barely warm. I walked right buy our server with the coffee and he didn t even acknowledge that I had to get up and get it myself or apologize that he forgot.
The server never did come back again after that. Not even to bring us a bill. We got up put our clothes on thinking that he would notice and bring us our check... still nothing. We waited for another 5 minutes and then finally left.
Absolutely unnacceptable. My wife and I are multiple time season pass holders and have watched Mt Hood Meadows continuously go downhill on customer service inside the lodge and outside they lodge.
I will be calling the restaurant to settle my bill since I couldn t get anyone to do their job when we were there.
