cool venue, fills up nicely with a good show (caught BMSR there recently)
parking situation (street parking exclusively) is unfortunately the biggest drawback, but that's Millvale in general. drink prices were average compared to other places (cheap PBR, expect to pay more for better beer).

Was a great place for a concert. Was surprised to see it in a church but had a really good time. Tickets are cheap. Lot of room

Will sell "seat upgrades" with no actual seats, then won't offer refunds (nor will the online ticket seller). That is called fraud.

This is one of my favorite concert venues in Pittsburgh. Standing room only, but not a bad viewing angle anywhere unless you're behind the pillar at the bar. Speaking of, the bar has a vast selection of craft beers, and liquor.

Pretty laid back venue. They have a small bar, a double decker balcony, and plenty of space if you opt for the standing room only option. Balcony seating comes with a couple options for a bar tab for food and drinks. Would recommend checking it out.

I love seeing shows at this venue. Such a unique concert experience!

If you re looking for a unique spot to have your wedding, then congrats! Cause you just found it. Mr. Smalls was seriously such a cool place to have our wedding reception. Sarah, Shaunden and their crew were the easiest people to work with and let us have ultimate creative freedom with our wedding, which was #1 most important when selecting our reception venue.

First of all, even if you ve been to Mr. Smalls for a concert, having your wedding here is just different. The venue itself is way bigger than you think, with two stages, like 6 fully stocked bars, an outdoor grotto, huge rooms in the back to get ready, etc. It also has the advantage of full stage lighting and sound systems which transforms your favorite punk rock club into this magical versatile space that you can really make into whatever you want.

When you rent Mr. Smalls, it also comes with some top-notch venue coordinators. I mostly worked with Sarah Troy. There were weeks that I emailed her every day with wedding details and she was always very responsive and usually emailed me back that day. Sarah and her crew setup the entire venue with all the decorations I provided and it looked SO good. My bridal party and family didn t have to do anything and it was perfect.

Even though weddings are not their primary business, Mr. Smalls knocked it out of the park. So many of my guests said it was the best wedding they have ever attended, and I think a large part of that was due to the space that Mr. Smalls provides, as well as their service and the creativity that they allow you to have.

Probably my favorite concert venue in town. Small enough to still have a fairly intimate feel, big enough to have quality sound systems and enough space to move around.

This easily the greatest venue I've ever seen. We came in from Ohio for a burlesque show. I'm the entertainment business. I've been all over the country. I've seen other places try to do concepts like this. I've never seen anything that compares to this. Everywhere I went I found another amazing space. The service was great. I found everything to be reasonably priced as well. I seriously can't say enough good things.

Small venue but means you are close to the stage! Which was awesome! Drinks were a little pricey but not unreasonable. Heard the food was good too.

Favorite venue in Pittsburgh! Make sure to upgrade to the Balcony Experience for a VIP experience!

Went there for Danny Duncan show. Security was good and a nice venue overall.

This was a fun place to go to. They had a good assortment of drinks available. I wish they had better lighting available for the drummer. We were there for the drummer and could hardly see him.

I have seen many shows here and played here before. It is a blast every time I am here!

Staff were nice. The acoustics in the place aren't so great so the sound isn't so great. The set up itself is ok. Parking is awful.

Awesome small venue, however parking is non-existent. All street parking and unless you get there hours before the doors, you'll be parking a dozen blocks away.

General admission is standing room only. If people have physical issues, this can be an uncomfortably long standing time during concerts. Otherwise, the venue is large enough to have breathing room (very cool renovations to a church) and small enough to feel more intimate. Bar stations are pretty well stocked.

I went to a wedding here. There was a lot of room for the guests and wedding party to mingle. There are 2 balcony sections to sit and enjoy having drinks. The 5 bar areas were well stocked. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is the parking is on street parking. So if you're going to a show or wedding go early to get a parking spot.

Highly, highly disorganized. Waited for merch for an hour and missed one whole set. I don t know if this is the staffs fault or the bands or both. Thank goodness I didn t pay a lot for these tickets. Work on the organization. Absolutely atrocious.

Edit: Found out it was because of Starset, that band has to get more people.

Good venue for up and coming musicians to showcase and try new work. Good sounds

Came here for the brewtal beer fest. Bands were great especially dying fetus and incantation. I discovered both these bands six years ago and have been hooked on them since. Keep the metal alive!!!!

I saw my very first concert here (GWAR) about thirteen years ago, and I've been going steadily ever since.

Perfect sanctuary-shaped venue with great acoustics. Every City has their local go-to joint for new and journeyman acts; Mr. Smalls is ours and we love it.

They consistently have sound problems at the shows I've been to but they are making strides to really build this place up into a cool venue. Hopefully the audio gets invested in next.

Very decent venue with an unbelievably bad sound engineer Ben who just can't do anything right, has an unpleasant demeanor and a ton of attitude. I had to play a gig there when the simplest things like adjusting the levels in the monitors on stage and finding working cables proved to be challenging for Ben. Enough said

This is a great small venue with a friendly staff. SRO unless you get balcony seats. A well stocked bar too!

A great intimate venue for smaller shows. You really have a chance to get up close and personal with the band. We splurged and reserved the balcony which was nice for grabbing a snack before the show and sitting down during the opening band. Caveat: The balcony seats closest to the stage have an obscured view. I didn't see the bass player all night.

Food was average and overpriced, but you're paying for the convenience of eating at the venue.

A few small inconveniences: doors were supposed to open at 7, but it was closer to 7:30. No paper towels in men's or women's restrooms.

My favorite venue in Pittsburgh, especially since the remodel a few years back. Even on sold out nights the bar is easy to get to and quick service. Sound quality is some of the best I've ever experienced. Great midrange venue.

This venue has great potential and I have personally visited numerous times in the past for shows. Free water, decent audio, and balcony upgrades are certainly appreciated. Towards the back of the house during quieter acts the crowd and bar noise can be distracting. This is easily forgiven due to the ability to get close to your favorite acts however. Less forgivable are the current members of the security team. Crass comments about church shootings while scanning patrons were not appreciated by anyone waiting in line and the inability to understand consent and personal space once inside the venue was disheartening to say the least. Security is meant to be visible and make the acts and fans feel safe. Hovering over people and crowding them, cussing out people that trip on them when they get too close....either they are in the wrong business or should have sat the evening out. I have been to hundreds of shows and never witnessed such unprofessional security. They were a disgrace to those who do the job with class and respect.

In short, great potential to see your favorites up close and experience a great vibe in a unique setting, just be mindful of the security even when you're not drinking and minding your own business.

Mr. Smalls theatre is one of my favorite concert venues. The small setting let's me (a short woman) be moderately close to the stage to see the performers while also chilling towards the back of the floor. They had free water, which was so helpful to cool down. I could feel airflow, which is incredibly important in a crowded concert setting. The staff are friendly, the musically is usually pretty good, and I found out that you can also purchase food upstairs. They have an outdoor smoking deck which is nice for smokers. The atmosphere of this venue is remarkable and unique. Would absolutely recommend to anyone, 10/10.

This place is great! Some genius converted a huge old church into a concert venue with a bunch of bars in it...yeah, you can figure out the rest. Good times to be had.

Love this place. Its great for a concert. The cathedral ceiling makes for great sound. Drinks are very reasonable as well.

One of my favorite venues, the VIP/Balcony experience is one of the best deals around when going to a show in the area. I did have some minor issues with double booking a VIP room for a show, but the venue management team made reasonable accommodation to correct the error. We love this venue.

Great venue for live music, but could use more seating.

My fiance and I went here for the set it off concert last night and it was amazing. Plenty of room to love around, staff was amazing and the acoustics are phenomenal. I reccomend this venue to everyone!

I'm definitely biased, but in my opinion this is the best music venue in Pittsburgh by a wide margin. The acoustics are fantastic, the food and drinks are great, and there really isn't a bad spot in the house. Honestly, I just wish that there was some sort of VIP program for people like me that attend shows here (what feels like) every other week.

I have been trying since 8/10/2020 to get a refund on a cancelled show. Ticketweb will not return Emails or answer their phones,but will sell you tickets to shows that probably won't happen and then keep your money.
I have 2 tickets that are torn in half with VOID written on them as instructed to do in order to receive a refund due to the Covid Virus. Mr. Smalls also has no way of talking to anyone since they haven't updated their answering system since March, with the message box always full
and also won't answer Emails, but will sell you tickets. Seems like some shady business practices!!!!! Think twice before buying tickets from them!!!

Good venue. Good sound. House lighting is acceptable. Entrance and exits not very accomidating to large crowds. Restrooms are a D+. Parking is non-existant.

Very, very special venue. The vibe here is unreal. The sound is amazing. The location is great. Every time I've been here I've had nothing but a great experience. There is no parking lot or designated parking but there is plenty of street parking surrounding the venue.

No heat in this place, but the venue sounds amazing. Security is pretty relaxed as well
