Mr. Smalls is an OK concert venue in Pittsburgh. The sound is mediocre, and if you're standing near the back (and bar) there is too much crowd noise to be able to enjoy the show. I highly recommend getting seats in the balcony. They're extra, but that extra money is basically a stipend that you need to spend on beer / food that evening, otherwise you lose it.

The best indoor venue for music in Pittsburgh. Great acoustics, has a restaurant that actually has really good food and as an amazing beer selection that's reasonably priced. Only negative is parking

Overall it was a decent concert venue. Respectable sound throughout the whole general admission area. Visibility of the stage could be improved from some shorts. It's definitely an older structure that hasn't aged the most gracefully. There is no actual parking area; it's all just along the road nearby.

Another gem of Pittsburgh as the city continues to teach us, what is old is new again. There is plenty of space, the acoustics are excellent and there are spots for every type of concert goer. Would definitely recommend!!

The venue is a former church so the acoustics are Incredible! Staff is efficient and friendly getting the lines moving into the show. Drinks are not priced that bad and they will give you water free and NOT be salty about it lol Security is visible constantly, both inside and out. There is a smoking deck upstairs that can be accessed anytime during the show with no reentry hassle. Overall great night! I'd definitely go back again.

I'm a big fan of the venue, it isn't too pricy and is a nice looking venue in what is a cool old building.

It was my first time in the funhouse room last night and I enjoyed that room as well. That room is upstairs and is much cozier and they have food served up there too. I can't say the food is very good but it's not too expensive especially in comparison to the drinks.

Great venue considering the smaller size. Very interesting atmosphere with it being in and old church. I've been attending shows here since 2012 and it seems like they're renovating and making improvements every time I visit. Staff is very attentive and take great measures to make sure everyone is safe and enjoying themselves.

Best venue in Pittsburgh. hands down.

Best venue in Pittsburgh. hands down.

This place is awesome, it's an old gothic church and has a very cool vibe with 2 bars upstairs and one downstairs as well as an internal courtyard where you can go be outside to smoke and relax.

The staff here is always helpful and accommodating and the sound quality is excellent.

Great venue to see a concert. But wear comfortable shoes as you will be standing. There are no seats on the main level. There is an upper level with a bar and tables, but you have to upgrade your ticket. The music sounds great there!

Not a bad venue, pretty intimate experience because you have great views of the stage; however, for the Bone Thugs n Harmony show, all of the bouncers looked way to serious and pissed about people smoking inside. They should ease-up and let things slide a bit more.

Disorganized, difficult parking, the concert was late both days because of their LONG process getting people in the theatre and not opening early. They didn't have it open for rehearsal and we were out on the street, poor management and patrons were waiting in the rain for an hour to get inside for the late concert. Interesting venue but they need a revamp on their organizational skills and staff.

One of the most underrated places to go see a concert. Remove the notion that it used to be a church, the layout inside has emphasized that it is a place of performance and it is here to stay. In this place everyone in the audience gets a front row seat. Open to all ages, but has a roped area for those who want to drink. Even an area upstairs to grab so great food or watch a show from the balcony. Artists that choose this venue definitely want to have an intimate show for their fans.

Great concert venue that just keeps improving. The recent expansions include multi-level balconies with reserved seating, multiple places to get food and drinks, multiple outdoor gathering places and a secondary stage. The reserved seating upgrade pays for itself if you plan to get food and drinks. Great sound, great atmosphere.

Had a great time here seeing Judah and the Lion. It was a very cool, intimate venue. My biggest gripe was how they upcharge for the balcony seating. I'm sure it is a great experience when you're in the seats though. Chill people working there.

Great place for a show, pretty decent- rated a 5 at first- but last time i went was about a 3.5, so i changed to a 4. They had some awesome local talent and other bands upstairs better than the headliners sometimes. Drinks are a little pricey but for a show- ah i guess ok- i dont drink much anyway. Parking can be difficult in millvale too. Shows sell out a lot here- so buy early- very rarely see scalpers outside. if ever.

I've seen several shows here in the funhouse as well as the main theater. This is a terrific venue with a ton of character. Their kitchen cooks up fantastic food and the bartenders are always friendly and attentive. The only down side is that it is difficult to park. I recommend taking an Uber or Lyft to the venue if possible.

Funhouse indeed. A former church converted into one of the best spots to see a live band anywhere in the USA - it's made a list or two for it. They have been building on and updating piece by piece over the years which gives this place such an eclectic vibe. Gritty and grungy in some spots and luxurious and exclusive in others. They get great bands here, but the venue itself is worth checking out.
