Mr. Smalls Theatre Review

This is home. Best place for live music in pgh and one of the top concert clubs in the country. Always improving too

The theatre itself is just an open room with a stage and a small bar in the back, so you should expect to be standing for a few hours in a large cramped crowd, which is pretty normal for concerts I think. It got pretty hot in there pretty quick too. But the sound quality was good, not too loud or quiet. It could be hard to see the stage at times if you are on the shorter side. The only think I really disliked about this theatre is that they forced me to throw away my water bottle before going in, even though it was impossible to access the bar during the show.

Great shows and a superb venue. Favorite in Pittsburgh.

Just wish the A/C was on. Heat is not good for my Multiple Sclerosis. Yet we survived and loved seeing Chris Jamison

Small and personal. Great stage and sound. Could upgrade a few things but I guess that feeds into the "quaintness" of the place.

Awesome place to see live music, good views from every level, tickets are always fairly priced. Tons of beer choices, food isn't too bad also

Terrible no medical assistance they just kick you out to the street. No concern for patrons health when you identify medical issues

I'm 25. I enjoy it a ton and the stuff here is amazing. They are on top of everything from keeping drinks and food to making sure you know what is going on.

Great space got large and small concerts. I have seen some great bands come through. An awesome multi venue space in Pittsburgh, one of the few venues left that caters to the alternative crowd.

New stage is pretty cool. Great venue. Drinks are a bit pricey.

Standing room makes for a great place to get close to the stage.

Good venue for shows, but the VIP balcony seating is annoying. Was better when you could move around and stand wherever you want.

This place is a hidden gem of a venue. Hands down me and my girlfriend's favorite place to see a show. The balcony upgrade is very worth it if available and includes food and drink services. This photo is from a meet and greet at Mr. Smalls with The Marcus King Band which was truly a dream come true for me. I make sure to stay updated on the venue's upcoming events so as not to miss out on the potential opportunity to experience all this place has to offer!

So many amazing improvements since my last visit. Coach check, bigger bathrooms, downstairs bar...can't wait to returns!

One of the only mid-size venues left in the city. Draws some incredible acts. Cheap drinks at multiple bars. OK good at a good price. The balcony is amazing for certain shows. Plus, there are multiple stage for local and smaller acts. Probably my favorite concert venue in town.

Upstairs and downstairs provide for a unique setting. Was a little loud but a very interesting place.

very fun! met so many people that you could literally say that i am popular now. I have new friends which is great, the only downfall was that darn Alonzo, he saw right through my cool outfit and bullied me all night. even though I was surrounded by new found friends. but hey ya win some ya lose some. rOck on!

Smalls has been one of my favorite venues for over a decade. They continue to upgrade and reinvent themselves. Great spot.

One of the best venues in town. Drinks are a bit pricey but well worth it for what this place has to offer. As both an audience member and a musician who has played both the main stage and the funhouse stage they have never done me wrong. The staff and management are excellent, the sound is superb-Mr. Smalls is a local treasure.

I had a great time. Only thing I didn't like was that there was only one single-file exit for 600+ people.

Unique venue with friendly staff. The Monday night acoustic performances are entertaining.

One of the best venues in town. Able to get up close to whoever is playing and the acoustics are incredible.

This is my favorite venue. Even if you get stuck in the back, you still have a great view of the stage. The only downside is available parking. Very limited, so I suggest arriving early.

My favorite concert venue in Pittsburgh. I love the church aesthetic. The drinks aren't outrageously priced and you can reserve space in the choir loft for larger parties which I plan on doing at my next concert here.

Also, they do weddings here which I think is awesome. I would consider it!

The venue is an old church so I'd get there early if it's your first time so you can walk around and check it out. Great beer selection & really reasonable prices for a live venue.

Very cool, unique place to catch a show. Saw Torche and Baroness there on the Gold and Grey tour. Show was absolutely spectacular. Tix were fairly cheap and because of the size of the venue, any place was great to view the concert. In addition, we had balcony seats, which I would definitely recommend. These seats were a great area to get a bird's eye view of the performance. Plus, we each had a tab of $45/person to spend on food and drinks (Make sure you come thirsty and hungry as we were able to purchase quite a few items. Also, money not spent goes to Ticketmaster. So, try to spend it all. If u go over, you just owe however much you spent over the $45). I can also say that all the staff there were super friendly and extremely helpful as it was our 1st time there. Would definitely go to another show there if the opportunity presented itself.

It's a great unique venue with two stages and I hear a 20 seat movie theater!?! I haven't heard of what screens there though.

An intimate venue on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. Parking can be scarce at times, but it's free, so it's to be expected. The venue could use a bit of updating, but overall a nice place to see a show.

FEMMES ROCKED IT OUT HERE & HAD A GREAT TIME! But it's small for a large concert/ event! Hence the name i guess. But we had a BLAST!

I have only been to the funhouse part but I've loved it, it is a small venue that lends to intimate shows. This is amazing when a good artist comes through.
