Mr, Mikes West Coast Grill Review

Went to Mr. Mike last night to celebrate the graduation of my sons. This was the first visit for my husband and boys. When we arrived our server was quick to take our drink and food order. After waiting 45 mins with no return of our server my husband began to get antsy, people that came in after us were receiving their food, he had decided to try to get the attention of another server to find out if our order was started because if not we just wanted to pay for our drinks and leave. That's when Kellyanne came to our table, we said to her that we just wanted to leave if our food had not be started yet, she told us to give her a moment and she would find out what the hold up was. She came back to our table and told us that unfortunately the server had forgotten to submit our order, she said that she wanted to make things right and told us that Mr. Mike's would take care of our COMPLETE order, a meal that would have easily costed over $200.00. Both my husband and I were in shock, we have eaten at many different restaurants in our years but have NEVER received the service that we received last night from her, she did EVERYTHING to make sure that we were happy customers, we were both truly impressed on how she made things right. I normally dont write reviews but felt very strongly to knowledge what she did for us last night. THANK YOU to Kellyanne for your professionalism and kindness.

Service was horrid. Never even got in to try the food. The staff needs a lesson in customer service. If you want to be called a liar and treated with distain then this is the place for you!!

Service was a little slow, but that seems to be the norm in Covid times. Food was good and they seated us quickly.

The service was excellent. We were a group of six, and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was very good and efficient. The food was good and plentiful. We had one tough steak, and that was quickly replaced with no problems. Good place to eat for a semi upscale meal.

Hubby and I always have a great time when we dine here, normally for dinner. Their drinks are just as amazing as the steaks and the service is always great No complaints from us!

Great place, fun atmosphere, good food. We had a blast playing the board game Sorry, while we ate dinner. We ended up ordering three bruschetta they were so good! And the service was great, I will be returning.

The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Erika was very helpful and attentive. I am extremely sensitive to spices and she helped me find a meal that was perfect for me.

Had the opportunity to try Mr Mikes for the first time. What a great atmosphere for a family, the little ones were kept busy with the board games and had a blast playing them. The lunch menu had great choices and the food and portion size were perfect. Our server was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

TERRIBLE! So dissapointing. Ordered a Ceaser $7.00, it was in a low ball glass, first time I've seen this. The so called Lobster Avacodo salad, had a tablespoon of what looked like pieces of chopped up lobster on the top, I was digging around to fns the Avacodo, and I came across one small piece the size of a teaspoon. Then at the bottom of the bowl was something gritty...at that point I stopped eating the salad. Waiter took it away, didnt ask if there was something wrong or if I would like it boxed up. WONT BE BACK!! My husband ordered the ribs and they were over done, not much meat on them.

The kids mac and cheese is basically a low quality Kraft dinner...

I really wanted to give a try to this restaurant in welland ontario. Finally today i tried and was awesome. So far the best steak . I had been in thousands of restaurants around the world but this steak have something special. The steak are aged for 28 1/2 days . And is very tasty. I tried before steaks aged for even 36 days but this restaurant have a very good secret. I extremely recommend it and i will come again to try the filet mignon. Today i tried the New York steak. Well im very proud welland have the best steak restaurant.

Super good food and loved the relaxed environment. Great service and really happy staff that were genuine.

My husband and I had steaks and mashed potatoes here. Our steaks had no flavour what so ever. Half of my steak was well done and the other half was medium rare. I asked for medium. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were burnt in a pot, terrible flavour. We ve went here before and it wasn t too bad, but it s terrible now. Never again. Worst $90 we ve spent.

Prices reasonable but VERY LOUD

I recently was at Mr Mikes for my husbands birthday... he received a free entree with the Mikes rewards ... great meal and birthday present. Bailey was our server and had us laughing. The food was terrific and service was fantastic .

Went to Mr.Mikes with my husband for our 5 year anniversary and am pleased with our meal. The staff was very friendly and very courteous with being available to us for anything we needed. They also gave us a free dessert for our anniversary which was very nice of them. My only complaint was that the veggies were not cooked enough to our liking (we aren't carrot people) . I got the 6oz steak with roasted garlic mashed potatoes. My husband got smugglers cove chicken and for dessert we got rocky mountain madness.

Food was good and priced fairly. The staff was also good with my kids which we all know is more important than the food lol

My husband and I, along with several friends, have visited Mr Mikes in Welland several times since it opened. Due to it s immense popularity, we have sometimes had to wait for a table. They are far from the only restaurant that does not take reservations. I assure you, any wait is well worth your patience! We have had consistently excellent, friendly service and the food quality and presentation has been awesome!. Though we live 40-45 minutes away, we find it well worth the trip, and look forward to many more enjoyable visits. Keep up the great work, folks!!!
P.S. My mother told me last night she has heard so many amazing comments about Mr Mikes, that she bought several gift certificates for special friends as Xmas & Thank You gifts.

Well, I have memories of Mr. Mikes from out west on the 70's and 80's. This is not that. *sigh*

Loved it! We went at 9 30 at night, so no wait times. Kelsey, our server, was great and very professional. The lobster Mac was delicious. I love how you can play board games while you wait for your food! It was also my birthday and I received a free dessert!

The food was absolutely delicious and nathan, our server, was very knowledgeable and attentive without being pushy....kudos to nsthan and this wonderful restaurant

The service is always quite speedy and the wait staff is very polite. The food is very good and even though the price is a bit high the food is worth it. Always clean and well kept.

Mr. Mike's has the best food in town! The restaurant is spotless! And for the ladies, the powder room is very clean ! Hehe We had the cutest little server Bailey who was on point with her skills! The prices on the menu make it affordable so you can bring the whole family! I will be back again and again! See you soon Mr. Mikes!

I came in last week for the first time and had such a wonderful experience that I just had to write a review. The food was delicious, and service was excellent. Our server Bailey went out of her way accommodate and calm down my 2 year old who was having a massive melt down in the middle of our meal.

Tonight was my first time visiting Mr. Mikes. My husband and I have wanted to check the place out since we moved to Welland. Despite having my Rib Eye steak come out over cooked the first time, I am still very happy with the level of service and customer satisfaction they offered. Our server was RYAN and he was incredible. He respected my opinion on the steak and had the kitchen make me another without a second thought. Both he and the kitchen staff also offered an additional side for the inconvenience - I did not take it as I felt it was unnecessary, but it was very much appreciated. Ryan had inquired as to what had brought us in tonight and we explained that tmrw (jan 24) was our 12th wedding anniversary. At the end of our meal Ryan brought us our a delicious toffee caramel cake dessert. It was soooo good. A big thank you to Ryan and all the staff at Mr. Mike's for making our first visit a great one. I will surely recommend this place whenever I get the opportunity to do so, and we will definitely return.

Best burgers around. Lots of steaks on menu. It's a chain from out West, hence the steaks.

Have a great experience every time I've been. Kids love the place too. Always smiling and helpful wait staff. A nice date night out or family dinner spot.

Owner starts fights with the customers...over priced food...they think they are the Keg...no where near the quality. Slow service unorganized.

A bit pricey, but isn't everything nowadays? You get what you pay for here.

1.5 hour wait. And for some reason, they don't take reservations??? How can you start a restaurant, and not have the ability to take reservations? I'd love to put a good review, but no way I'm waiting around for that. Maybe next year.

First visit was absolutely great! Food was great, service was great, no complaints and we highly reconmended it. BUT, our return visit was absolutely terrible! The server sets the tone, he was totally disorganized. Didn't introduce himself, food was slow being brought out, brought the food but no cutlery, forgot our drinks etc. etc. My salad was absolutely swimming in dressing. I never send food back but this time I had to. For me that was a first. Not sure if we will go back or not. Open 7 days a week. Lots of free onsite parking. Expensive.

Been 3x now, steak was overcooked each time. Great atmosphere but insane expensive, The Keg prices but not The Keg quality. Staff are super friendly and service is quick. Not bad for an app and drink but won't do dinner again

Only complaint is the carrots weren't cooked enough and cold but the rest were good

We were so excited when MrMikes opened because there's not too many options around this area. First time we went we both had steaks and both my wife and I really enjoyed the dishes and the presentation was great too (didn't take any pics first time) All the servers where freandly and professional. This time we tried a pasta and coconut crusted cod and it was ok but we definitely recommend going for a steak, it is a steakhouse after all . We will definitely go back and I'll make sure to take pics next time.

horrible service. Waiter was only interested in the business class people. Considering my bill was $150 you think he would have been happy to serve us. Will not go back

Good service average food small portions. Very pricey for what you get. Rather spend a little for for a lot more at the Keg.

We had a very nice dinner for a good price. The service was excellent from our greeting when we first came in all the way to paying the bill. There were enough options on the menu for most tastes without causing one to spend a lot of time making your choice.

I went there for a group gathering and I found that the employees were splendid. A lot of us were able to play games like Jenga while we waited, they were able to sit all 30+ of us and they were very efficient with bringing out the food. Overall the food was great and I had a very pleasant experience at this restaurant.

Nice new restaurant, the building was totally gutted and renovated. Had the Mike's burger with bacon and mushrooms. Excellent burger. Cheesecake dessert was great too.

Love this restaurant. We went with friends and played a couple games while waiting for our food. Love the atmosphere. The steak is fantastic as well.

Went on Oct 2 for my Sons birthday and my brothers as well. Atmosphere was extremely loud they had some Trivia night. Service was good , Food was ok , except for the lil Mike sliders my 8 yr old got . They were freezer burnt and tasted terrible " now I know why he didn't eat his dinner . It cost $300 with tip for 6 of us " which w I was ok with 4 adults 2 kids" .
Odds are my family won't return there again.

First time to this relatively new restaurant. I was pleased by the atmosphere and staff. Board games were great addition! Food was great, first time I ever felt an online review was necessary.

good food great steak friendly and clean, quick service!

The food is good but from the minute we arrived we felt rushed to hurry up and order and hurry up and eat and hurry up and leave! Even other wait staff that wasn t our waiter was staring at us after we were done, wantng us to leave! They even sat a table beside ours that was for 4 and there was six of them and they stood over us waiting for us to leave!!! We wanted a girls night out because we haven t seen each other in a while but really couldn t enjoy ourselves. Too bad

Been here for the 3rd time this evening, always a good experience. Staff are relaxed, friendly and professional. Food is always to our liking and brought out promptly. Selection of board games is great.

Ordered the steak with lobster mac and cheese through skip and I must say that was very delicious. Steak was medium rare just the way I like it and the mac and cheese was super tasty.

The steak was good but not great. Did not have several cuts we requested. Side veggies were horrible. The stuffed potatoe from my perspective not made in house. Beverages were over priced. ($4 for tea??) Service was caotic not sure who my server was. The place had poor acoustics very loud. Table inches apart, not comfortable. I knew every issue the couple next to us were having in thier life. Not a place I would frequent for steak.

I have been to this location 3-4 times now. My last visit made me need to leave a review. This place has a good selection of beers and great staff the management is great also. Clean, friendly and great food. I had a outstanding server named Beth that was honestly one of the best I have ever experienced she was very intelligent, cordial and more than a pleasure to engage in quick conversation. I asked her to just pick my appetizers in which she did and got a stellar solution! She choose the bruchette and I was more than pleased. I also want to thank the staff for letting me sit in a area I could lock up my bike and watch it while I enjoyed my self at their establishment. Beth gets 11 out of 5 stars! Give her a raise! ;)......................ROCK ON!

I heard the burgers are good, but the steaks are better. I started with the Deep Fried Pickles ($9.99) - breaded dill pickles served with chipotle
ranch dip. My friend ordered the Fresh Tomato Brochette ($7.99) - toasted garlic rubbed baguette topped with tomato, red onion, fresh basil, herbed aioli, balsamic glaze and parmesan. Both great and there were plenty to share. The Sirloin was recommended, so I tried 6 oz. Shrimpin' Sirloin ($26.99) - crowned with garlic herb butter and served with one dozen crispy panko shrimp and cocktail sauce. Despite the fact my dining partner was waning at this time, the waiter told us the Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding ($7.99) would change out lives, and it delivered. It was more than enough to share, with two sinfully rich and divinely decadent mountains of lightly spiced sponge cake, smothered in warm golden toffee and sweet cream sauce. Our waiter Trevor couldn't have been more attentive, and the general manager Troy even stopped by, and didn't rush off after the perfunctory check you get at other restaurants, but actually spent a few minutes getting our impressions. MR MIKES also serves lunch.

Our waitress was great but the Chef can't cook a steak. Half was well done and the other half was bleeding. I'm sure it's a good place but they need to sort out their kitchen staff if they expect you to pay those kinds of prices.

Good as usual, but our waitress Bethany made it extra special.
