Had a great experience here. Receptionist is pleasant, minors are able to see a councillor without parent consent. The councillor I had was very kind and patient. As they are students in training, there is a quick form at the end of session for you to evaluate how the session was. Definitely recommend.

I do my counciling there every thursday. Ordered by Child and Family Services. I am trying to get my daughter into my care and away from the courts. She was put in the system because of the mother and I've been fighting for her for almost 2 years. The system needs to be changed.

I had originally really loved this place and referred multiple people here to get therapy. My first round of session were incredible. My second round was awful. I had set up my first session with Caitlyn and she didn't call during my scheduled appointment time. I had to call and ask what what going on and the receptionist said she didn't know. I had asked for a new therapist at this point because I don't appreciate my time being wasted. I had specifically set therapy before Christmas because I need it and had the appointment set up for awhile. I still have yet to receive a call back from intake to set up a new session. When I initially made the request for the session they called me back within the hour. You'd think they'd be more diligent with their staff considering the therapist no showed.

Be very careful if your native going for support hear I tried going here for support 2 times thr receptionist and staff judge you when you walk in. Being native is get weird looks and cold treatment
I did complain about this employer they said you cant all people or society everyone has an opinion which was their nice way of saying they can treat natures like crsp because we are native. Cant change everyone opinions? Well I deserve dignity respect and human being rights like other races

Applied for a job posting on facebook group page for a temporary child care worker . I received a telephone interview the following day given a quick interview and quickly given a job a as a temporary child care worker for the family center. I had shown up Monday july 8th to provide security documents and employment paperwork upon entering the establishment both the receptionist and another front worker both acknowledged me presence. I found right away both workers were very rude, asking why I am there, both workers looked me up and down I felt judged by my appearance. Being first nation I have tried to attend services but I found I was judged by my appearance i felt the degree if unprofessionalism became very tense for myself. I did notice everyone else was treated very warm hospitable and kind when I did talk to the interviewers they were a bit standoffish listened but I felt still backward. The next morning and that night, I was very emotional crying and upset about the traatement especially since I access parenting classes before but did not follow thru because of the unpleasant professionalism the day i was suppose to start i had a massive headache, stomach ache, and dizzy from crying i told the supervisor i could not work sent s email since i could not talk this deeply impacted by mental health. I felt this would impact future, present, and existing first nation workers or other minorities.

This kind of government funding service is just a decoration at all. The system here without constantly consulting, just randomly walk in service is no use at all. The therapist we were talking to are always out of mind when we were talking, her eyes are straight and absolutely didn't listen.

The therapist asked me for a review of our session and I gave her basically a 6 out of 10 and she came back and said Oh you did it a little on the low side and basically asked me to put it higher. ! Oh my God

A+ service, would highly recommend to anyone looking for support in counselling, parenting, separation and courses. They offer free walk in therapy sessions which is amazing considering others can charge $180+ per hour

Dedicated staffers, but corrupt and inconsiderate managers . If you are hired, build your resume, get few $ as soon as you can, and look for somewhere else. Don't count on this company for any long term career plans. Get in and get out. It's a "revolving door" for reason.

I cannot say enough about the staff and the program at the family center. they have given my family opportunity for growth have given me a mother an opportunity to understand my children my family dynamic being a separated parent so that I can improve their lives and our lives. their counselling services have created opportunities for my children to speak their truth and find a sense of well-being. There isn't another program that has offered such a well-rounded family opportunity that I have seen and I would suggest the classes and the people to any co-parenting family single family anyone! I believe you'll find a lot of Truth and understanding when things are so grey instead of black and white. For me
and my children all I can say is a big thank you.

The Family Centre has been an amazing resource for both my family and my ex's family. They have great counsellors and programs at affordable rates for those who can't afford a high priced therapist and courses on parenting and separation. I would highly recommend to others.
