A hotel full of heritage, the lobby reminisce of prestigious hotels, though its quite small as compared to for eg Fullerton Hotel in Singapore. The rooms however need a bit more upgrading as the building is very old.

The service was excellent all the staff are lovely. John the Concierge & Elisabete in the breakfast restaurant were fantastic. It was home from home and felt spoilt nothing was too much trouble. I believe the bedrooms are being updated which is good as I felt mine was a little dated. I was there for an exhibition which was very close by and convenient parking was provided by the hotel at a very reasonable price.

My room had stairs! Which is awesome. Hotel is amazing and it's restaurant is really 6 star our of 5. Wanted to knock off a star because the old building is not entirely neighbour creek proof. But the quiet bar area had a piano and a well dressed professional piano player who playled beautifully for several hours each day! The staff is incredible helpful and polite as well.

Rude and unfriendly waitress who made it more than clear we were an inconvenience. Waiters so swear, snort and spit into public restroom sinks.

Average drinks at twice the going rate for similar upscale establishments.

Sneaky service charge added onto the bill when our waitress never actually handed us a receipt.

Only redeeming feature was the other waitress who helped us with our concerns.

We had afternoon tea with a glass of champagne. It was amazing. I am gluten free and they provided a very substantial afternoon tea especially for me and it was amazing. Never tasted gluten free cakes that nice before. Service was spot on. Would definitely recommend

Stayed here twice with the Wife & we both love it. We like a hotel with a central location, great views of the city, walking distance from all amenities but able to offer peace & quiet so The Midland ticks all these boxes. The room (319) we have been allocated on both occasions is a good size with a fabulous bed & great bathroom. The corridors of the hotel are wide but absolutely quiet, you can't hear anything from any of the other rooms. We look forward to our next stay & might do a couple of days here. Can't fault the breakfast as there is all you need regardless of your taste & served in Mr Coopers which is a lovely bar. We recommend this place without hesitation.

An excellent location and the tea room is wonderful. Friendly, professional and helpful staff who serve us the most elegant afternoon tea. Delicious well made sandwiches, cakes and scones polished off with their own blends of tea. Highly recommended...

Considering the location, historical interior and facilities, no wonder why the Midland is the landmark in the middle of the Manchester city. But the most importantly, the main reason why people remember this hotel as the best in the city is because of the concierge staff. I stil remember their names as Mr. Albert and Mr. Paul and others at the concierge. I would not say Its 'service', what they have provided was ' hearts ' itself. All the staff at the concierge are not working but they are actually taking care of the guests as if guests are their family and friends. The most amazing concierge staff ever in my hotel experience of over 17 countires. Thank you again Paul and Albert, I would not forget about
your warmness. You all are the reason why the time at the Midland is unforgettable. Thank you all to the Concierge.

I don't hate it, it's just that I've never had any cause to go in. I have seen famous celebrities in Manchester go in for a bit of posh nosh, but then I've heard anything on the local grapevine, that the kitchen has a Michelin starred chef!

Beautiful hotel. Lovely interior design, but it doesn't feel dated or run down. I was there for a conference and the staff and facilities were superb. The food was tasty, and presented nicely. My room was large and well equipped with all the extras you could need!

Generally a nice hotel, although the rooms were nice, somethings didn t quite work or make sense in the bathroom. The decor is also quite old, so it could do with a lick of paint. Friendly and helpful staff at reception, and a lovely big open bar.

Second time we have stayed at The Midland, we love it here! Kind staff, beautiful rooms, and we have heard they have an excellent spa, although we have yet to try it! Maybe third time lucky!

This is an excellent hotel -- the staff are incredibly polite and super efficient. There was an issue with the lock on the room we were given so we recevied an upgrade and the staff were very apologetic.

Would definitely recommend this hotel as it was nice to get superb customer service.

Nice and friendly staff. Conveniently located in the heart of the city with many tourist attractions and historical places nearby. The tram station is also a couple of minutes walk away. The reason I have given it three stars is that the rooms are very tight. There is no space to put two suitcases even though they provided us with a luggage stand. Also the carpet pillows the duvet their covers and the curtains look old and worm out. The pillows were however changed immediately on my complaint

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of Manchester. It has the most grand entrance and the staff are welcoming. The room was good, but was in need of some attention.
There was an electrical hum in coming from the ceiling by the door (not the air conditioning as this was off).
There is a mini fridge with a couple of bottles of water in. The usual safe, kettle, iron, tea & coffee etc.
Breakfast was good with enough to keep most happy.
I d stay here again.
Thank you

Rustic, heritage hotel with a tall ceiling in the room that lends to its grandeur. Staff are approachable and friendly. Amenities are somewhat dated, however, whilst the elevators are somewhat smaller than usual, and it does take some time to arrive during the busier hours.
