The service was as expected...nothing special. But great drinks regardless of price
Had a lovely afternoon here with my mum and siblings for mothers day, we loved the big selection of cakes and sandwiches, they even had loads of different infused teas to try. What a brilliant way to spend some quality time with your family.
Thank you
Great hotel with fabulous service from all the staff. Excellent location in city centre.
My wife and I spent the Christmas holidays in the hotel. From walking through the door, into the fabulous reception area. The decorations take your breath away. Checking in was very friendly and professional
Attended for a wedding. The room was great and the food and service was perfect
Comfortable beds and a great breakfast. Nice views of St Peter's Square from the higher rooms on the front elevation
Loved the architecture and history of the place. Bedrooms could do with touching up here and there but we had a great stay
Seems very grand, not stayed in the hotel but first impressions look.good
This is a very good hotel. Quite grand but relaxed and friendly. Fantastic location. Spotless air conditioned room, comfortable bed, large bathroom. All the amenities you need. TV was quite small and picture wasn't great but that didn t More
It is a good place to visit and stay you can get a meal
Great hotel. Ordered food to the room which was wonderful. Use the spa facilities whoch were also great. A perfect location if your way for the weekend in ma chester as walking distance to all restraunts bars and clubs. Very upmarket
Stayed for a weekend Spa break, absolutely stunning suite/rooms and felt like the staff couldn't do enough for you. Very helpful and friendly, will be recommending to friends and will definitely stay again.
Polite and understated service of the sort that makes it seem like the staff are invisible yet always available. Great rooms, classically grand hotel. I dropped a star for their drinks pricing as the spirits and mixers are frankly astronomical for brand name stuff but the beer is priced reasonably.
Beautiful building. The architecture was breathtaking. Visited the place for a study day and the buffet and pudding ( lemongrass panna cotta) were delicious. Going back for afternoon tea later in the year with my girl friends. Cannot wait!
We went for afternoon tea for my mum's birthday. The location was great as it was just by St Peters Square tram stop. The staff were great and worked well with us since they had group of 9 of us to deal with. I would definitely recommend it.
The service was very bad. When I asked the receptionist if the John Rylands library was open, he said yes. We went to both of the libraries and it was closed for renovation until 2020. When I came back from a day out, I had to change my clothes because I had a flight that evening. When I came back, one of the staff threw everything out of my suitcase and told my son to pick it up. The rooms were nice but the bathroom smelled like somebody smoked in there. We should build a wall around it so nobody could come in.
Lovely high quality venue and stunning building. Visited for an afternoon tea and had the vegan option. Think it was better than the standard to be honest. I totally won!
Delicious place for an afternoon birthday treat
The restaurant is well known, however the rooms are old. Red chairs at the lift lobby of each floors make it a little creepy at night with the corridor windows left open and curtain moving. Nevertheless, it has rich history and location is awesome.
Well designed comfortable rooms, lovely breakfast, great service
Only went to the midland to take people from there to Manchester airport
Marvelous place, I did enjoy the staff and the food! The rooms were quite nice indeed
Great checking in experience, good central location, nice big room overlooking the quite courtyard, lovely Spa very warm and relaxing, staff professional and personable, wonderful visit.
Beautiful historic hotel it has lots of stories to tell!! Staff very friendly and helpful have been three times would recommend to everyone.
Nice hotel, a tad on the pricey side but a great stay.
Absolutely appalling service, overpriced and disgusting food. Avoid
Always love staying here....will be back soon. Fab time in the Spa and relaxation room. Food was great and amazing service throughout.
Weather was great and enjoyed the stroll in the city. A memorable tour of the city with family and friends. Food varieties are aplenty too including nice coffee along the street alfresco.
Ran meeting here the day after the Tory conference, so they ere playing catch-up! My meeting materials had been turned away by security!
Everyone at the hotel is very kind and feels welcome. Although the location is in the city, the room is not small and very comfortable. It is worth mentioning that the towels provided in the bathroom are warm.
Great experience, lovely afternoon tea. Friendly staff
We were a party of 7.
Our seats were amazing
Staff were pleasant and polite
Alex our waiter and cocktail maker was amazing. He could certainly make a Cosmopolitan
The service was efficient.
The hotel bar was busy for 1 am but the atmosphere was relaxed
A nice end to a fab evening
Thank you Midland
Lovely hotel with lots of character in central Manchester.
Lovely wide expansive space for a traditional afternoon tea. Waiter service was very professional and friendly. A must if you are about the area
It was used at the meeting, but it was a very old and calm hotel.
Stunning hotel. I attended a work event/conference here not long ago and I've stayed as a guest too. Both occasions were brilliant. The lobby is beautifully decorated, the staff are incredibly attentive. Couldn't recommend more. Worth the money!
Centrally located, with a pleasant atmosphere. Staff friendly and helpful. Room this time was smaller and noisier, but only because of facing the main road outside. Overall a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Amazing hotel! Room was gorgeous, and customer service amazing! Stath and Sadie from reception organised a lovely birthday card and dessert on arrival massive Thankyou!! Also a special thanks to Liam the night manager on reception who gave us late checkout and a complimentary drink at the bar, he was amazingly polite, professional and made us feel so welcome and made our stay! 100% will be returning to the midland hotel on our return to Manchester!
It really is high quality, lovely hotel very professional great seevice
Attended for a large conference. Found the hotel to be very good.
My visit was a dinner/function. Great staff, ambience classy, welcoming and good food.
Recent visit with friends for lunch. Beautiful venue with service to a high standard. Food was excellent as expected. Highly recommended.
Good hotel, spa and pool available, near city centre
Attended a course , and the Midland was the venue, excellent choice, very clean and food second to none!
Visited the spa for a spa day, had a fantastic time. Highly recommended.
Lovely afternoon tea, good vegetarian options. Tea was delicious too!
Lovely evening for the sainsburys long service colleagues food was lovely too x
Beautiful hotel, great staff. Really professionally managed.
Great hotel quality food and very comfy stay. Right in the heart of Manchester (near the town hall) so handy for most venues.
Nice big hotel. Warm and cosy, down side had to pay to use the pool even as a guest.
A beautiful hotel within walking distance to the city centre
The food and service were both wonderful. I would definitely recommend it.
This is an awesome place to stay. Super friendly staff. Beautiful suites and spa.
Rooms are lovely, bathrooms need a bit of work. Little bit dated. The bar is OK, until private functions spill out and use it. Your quiet night is over.
Arrived at 12 for a meeting for the afternoon. Food and facilities where exceptional and enough for multiple helpings. Ample tea and coffee with boiled sweets to keep your sugar levels up. We finished the meeting and had a quick drink in the bar. Seating was a little cramped for our party but the service was excellent. We didnt have a meal at the restuarant however the majority of the party stayed overnight and commented on the room quality and breakfast in the morning. Would definitely have another meeting there.
I was attending a social event. It was a great time with good food and good service. The waiters were very attentive but towards the early hours of the morning there seemed to be less and less staff on. This ment that we had to wait longer to get served
Very good hotel, a little expensive but really comfortable and the staff is also quite friendly.
Going under major refurbishment so can only give 3 to 4 star rating.
Stayed here as the new covid restrictions came so no cooked breakfast but a continental breakfast delivered and left outside your room.
Water pressure low so showering was strange but will definitely call again when the work has been completed.
The staff throughout the hotel especially front desk were outstanding
What an experience, the service is excellent and choice is unreal.
