I have very mixed feelings about my stay here. The room was huge, the closet was gigantic, but it was in such a sad state. There were stains on the curtains, the paint was peeling, the bathroom was cramped and there was a major lack of outlets near the bed.

Steals your money from your account/ credit a week after check out. $1000 a night - too expensive. I only agreed to $500/600 a night. 2 weeks after stay they still charged $2000. I stayed one night due to fact they( Miami and hotel) did an evacuation due to Hurricane Irma. So they withheld the $2000 for me to not access in trying to leave Florida. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Staff rude. NOT BOOK HERE!!! You've been warned

Came here twice for the axtone pool party, the first time was a really good time and drinks were reasonable price for Miami. Second time was a complete nightmare, not sure what happened maybe a change in MGMT team but whoa. Let me start by how rude the staff was, I had one staff member who kicked me off the line to use the bathroom and was making fun of me for trying to wave to my friends to let them know where I was. Drink prices were almost triple of last year MMW parties, I got a jack and coke last year for 18 bucks including the tip. This year it was 42 bucks and a 8oz bottle of water was 17 dollars!! Also the bathroom line was insane and appreantly they didn't set up the dance floor properly so they kicked everyone off to the side not once but twice, this place is a vibe killer and clearly just money hungry. If you're looking for a good Miami music week party I wouldn't come here, because even if you get table service you'll still deal with the rude, unorganized staff and organizers. It doesn't matter who plays here or what the line up is cause i won't be coming back here again.

My family traveled to Miami and a friend recommend this stunning hotel. It was such a mixture of cool and relaxing vibe. I was in town for some investments and I found this place as my little retreat at the end of a productive day or meetings and appointments. The staff and room was perfect. The pool and back of the complex was something out of a Miami Vice Movie Scene. 5 Full Stars to the delano.

Stayed there a couple of times, I like the hotel a lot even though it needs a major refurbishment.

Pity I had to go out to have breakfast every morning as the service at the Delano restaurant in the morning was so inefficient and unfriendly. From what I remember last time was the same, you have to ask twice or three times until you get it right, horrible.

And the gym there is depressing... dark, small, old...
It s sad to see no improvement has happening from 5 years ago.

I loved the Rose Quartz bar in the "Rose bar"- absolutely beautiful, the cocktails are amazing, the bartenders are phenomenal (funny and handsome;), the DJ was playing great music, the area right outside of the Rose bar has funky decor and art, gave me a bit of an "Alice in Wonderland" feel...issa vibe for sure.
Great place overall.

BUYER BEWARE: The front desk will try to scam you ...

BUYER BEWARE: The front desk will try to scam you into signing papers that you think are the nightly room charge and then upon check out they will stand by that you owe them outrageous charges. I had a pre-paid reservation of $3,894.90 for six nights. Upon check in I asked if there was a complimentary upgrade for an ocean view.

They had me sign a sheet that said $600.00 per night upgrade. The sheet never stated a gross charge so I figured I was verifying my nightly room charge that was pre-paid and was around $600/night.

The front desk lady spoke broken english with a heavy South African accent that was hard to decipher and she shook her head yes upon every question I asked. When seeing the room it was very underwhelming room that was 300 square feet with dirty small windows that overlooked the beach so I certainly never thought I had agreed to pay more for something I was deeply disappointed with to begin with.

I immediately called front desk and said this wasn't even worth $100/night above and beyond what I was paying and wanted to make sure I had no payments above and beyond my prepayment. Upon check out they claimed it was an addition $600/night for an "ocean view." This is the most fraudulent tactic I have ever seen. The ocean view king never rents for $1200 (it typically ranges from $450-$800) and isn't even worth the $583/night I already paid and especially an upgrade at checkin is never assumed to be "full price." It seemed like the staff was trying coerce me into something I clearly didn't intend to do, it makes me think they were commissioned if they could "upsell" a customer.

Most hotels would try to make it right at the end and admit there mistakes and maybe invite the guest back to make it better. The management chose to fight with me and was not competent enough to understand no one in their right mind that had a reservation for $583/night would ever sign and agree to an additional $600+ per night. If they did they sure as heck wouldn't pay $1200/night for a 300 square foot room. That individual would have just booked that expensive of a room from the get go. Just elementary tactics.

It is also baffling tactic considering the very room they tried to scam me into paying an extra $4000+ for year round books for around how much my original reservation was worth. As if all this aggravation was not enough I also found the walls at night very thin, you could hear your neighbors and the people above and below you. Yes, it kept me up at night. I also had an issue with air conditioning. Not what you expect for $583/night. After all this expeirnece I would have expected most hospitality companies would comp part of my original $3894 reservation to make it right, let alone leave me with days of anxiety after checking out with unbeknownst to me charges of $4,000+ that were unauthorized and shocking. That is not a way you want to leave or end a vacation.

The pool is very cool and it's a good location on the beach. I would have loved to come back and experience the pool again and the beautiful amenities, but the lack of communication by management and lack of response to make things right or even go "above and beyond" to make things right is disappointing. They should learn from Starwood when it comes to client service which is not a strong statement, but would be a start.

The lack of hospitality by the front staff and management to resolve issues and most importantly make things right so they have a "customer for life" versus someone that will certainly never stay at The Delano again because of the hospitality and communication and now will write these reviews and share to others how poor of an experience it was is going to cost them a customer acquisition for life and many others I could have influenced to stay here. I had to dispute the charge through my credit card company to fight absurd charges that were never approved. It should never be this hard to feel good about a 5 star resort and stay, let alone being ethical and doing the right thing.

This place is the spot to go if your trying to impress someone, very upscale and expensive, I had 4 shots and 2 apps and 2 drinks , for 200.00 dollars , but music was amazing, beautiful people everywhere, I wouldn't say it's a family hotel more like a baller kick it place , great place for a couple looking to have fun and live like kings , service was 100% money talks here ,

I went to the restaurant for dinner. The entrance of the hotel is very beautiful and the valet is nice. The furnitures are nice because Philippe Stark designed the place. The food is very good with expansive prices but it worth it. I More

Very nice "beach club" although there is no sea view. White cushions on wood and metal chairs, long white curtains as "partitions". A long pool, which is lined with an avenue of palm trees on both sides. The service is good and friendly.

Neat n clear beach... It was crowded but we got our space. It was kind of shallow water beach so we could walk in to waters... Good public (free) facilities... There is no as such public changing rooms after playing in water.

Went to dinner and drinks there. Beautiful, trendy atmosphere. Drinks are on the pricey side, but great quality. Infinity pool is all lit up at night and provides a real club like atmosphere.

It s definitely a gorgeous place but oh my god. TERRRRRRIBLE. Me and 7 friends bought a cabana for yesterdays event. When we get there, they wanted to give us a daybed...for EIGHT PEOPLE?! First of all, it fits maybe 3...second we purchased a cabana...it says so on my receipt. They tried to tell me that s not what I bought. I asked to speak to the manager and HE WAVED ME AWAY. Total jerk. Scam artists man, South Beach is the worst thing about Miami. Also got two BASIC drinks (rum and coke i believe)...78$!!!!! I get its a higher end place but soooo ridiculous. Never again.

This is very nice hotel. It is a place where you want to be seen. The rooms are closet sized but who stays in the room in Miami The best part about it is the pool! Hanging out by the pool/bar almost makes it worth it. I did enjoy my stay and the service was great!

The Delano was THE PLACE to stay in Miami Beach in the 1990s. I know because I stayed there back then. ;) (room rates started at $295) Back then, the rooms were tiny, the service snooty and the clientele was the A list of Hollywood, London and NYC. Today - 2 decades on? The rooms are still tiny, the service is now great and the clientele is the B List from Europe and South America.
GOOD: Those bones! A timeless, gorgeous building, gorgeous gardens and gorgeous pools. Rooms have been spiffed up (still tiny) but the beds, most importantly are super comfy (excellent sleep). Pet friendly, Staff at the pool were AWESOME! Front desk staff - super friendly and very patient, unlike other Miami hotels they hire outside from Miami it appears (huge improvement from the 90s)
BAD: Bathrooms are TINY! Housekeeping takes forever (often rooms weren't cleaned until 5pm) and the clientele is really stuck up and full of themselves for no good reason. Valets are hit or miss, some awesome, some extremely lazy. The Hallways smell bad, those need to be renovated and deep cleaned.
OVERALL - still a stunner after all this time, a MIAMI CLASSIC. Rates are kinda crazy considering the competition however if you are eagle eyed enough, there are excellent last minute deals to be had ($300 for ocean view oftentimes).
