Cool hotel close to Penn station. I crashed with a bunch of friends from out of town. They got 4 bunk beds, but the room was very modern and had a nice bar.

Rooms are fine for business and the location is great, but the rest of the hotel is not great. Everything is super dark and it's trying to hard to appeal to millennials with DJ's and two bars. I wouldn't recommend for any families or even more than just one person per room. Really doesn't feel like a Marriott, does not fit well in the brand.
The worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. Me and my boyfriend checked into this hotel and the associate who checked us in swiped two of our bank cards multiple times. We instantly knew that the charges would be going through. She assured us only one charge went through, however we checked our bank statements and we had a total of 3 charges between two different accounts. A total of $1300 was taken out of our accounts on our first night in NYC. Our trip was ruined with the headache of tracking down and speaking to management about this issue. We spoke to three different managers, all of which gave us different answers. I expressed to each manager that I wanted to get this sorted before I left the country. The last manager assured us once we checked out the funds would be released. Long story short we were double charged for our stay and nothing was done to refund the extra charges. I m aware of pending transactions on credit cards and how hotel payment works however in this case we were actually double charged! It has been such a nightmare trying to get answers from management. It seems there is a complete lack of communication between managers as well. We are told we will get emails and call backs and no one reaches back to us. Id be cautious of booking here as it seems they have big organizational problems at this location.
Over $400 a night for no chair, no desk, no couch, weird bunk bed set up. I get that they're trying to be modern and trendy but some amenities would be nice. The "business center" is a joke.
I had an OK stay here. Lots of things missing from this hotel. If you pay a low price then I guess it isn't to bad. Shower / Toilet room has a sliding barn door on it, giving reduced privacy. Sink is in main room, again limits privacy and additional people in the room can't sleep.
Room small, but comfortable enough. Too much noise from bars and other guests.
Great conversation for my dear friends birthday. A little on the expensive side for bar food
I like this place. I just wish they ONLY hired amazing DJ s.
The room is terrible and just everything about the whole hotel is worthless. What a mistake we made in staying here. Never again back to the Sheraton next time we are here. There was a shop vac outside our room really!! I asked them to move it and it is still there hours later. You can t move around at all in the room. I feel like I am in a closet. I would not recommend staying here.
Visited NYC for the weekend from Philly. Stayed at Moxy Times Square given its proximity to Penn Station literally a 2 minute walk over, was SO EASY!
Check-in was seamless and the crew members were very helpful. After checking into our room which was cozy and very clean, we went down to Bar Moxy for a drink. The bartender was so nice and the drink was delicious. We didn t get a chance to check out the rooftop bar, will make sure to do so next time, heard really great things!! Love everything about this hotel for a weekend stay in NYC.
Love the atmosphere definitely going back ohh the food was very good calamari
Good hotel, good location and room is nice and clean, but i didnt like the staff treatment.
Great central hotel. Nicely furnished in modern New York style
Small rooms but very nice. Great if you need to sleep, shower and change. I had a queen room. It was tight for my guest and I.
Koolest experience ever! Staff is phenomenal, helpful, made our check in and stay a breeze. Central to everything! Rooms are small but all u need, classy n kool! Highly recommend this place!
Rooms small but sufficient. New hotel, great service and care. The rooftop bar is worth a visit
Very chic hotel. Super friendly staff. Good location. Too noisy
Staff is so friendly...very tiny rooms but comfy.. if you suffer from
Claustrophobia, I would not recommend. It felt like we were sleeping in a closet with bunk beds.. but.. OUR 7 year old LOVED it! Nice, SUPER CLEAN and elegant like a high end small bedroom... rooms are very narrow... not much walking room... its so tiny and compact.. a great place just to sleep but not to spend time and hang out in room with family.
Brandon is not a good manager, portrayed himself to be a know it all. Bit of a poor bloke
Moxy times square will remain in my heart. A hotel where innovation is at the center. It is located in the central area so you can walk everywhere and the means of transport are also a plus. To return.
Great hotel, very hipster ;). Location was good.
Staff was very friendly and rooms are hip & clean.
A super hip place. Not the best part of times square at all. It's well off the beaten path.
Staff is friendly. Design of the room is trendy. Great shower. Great bed. Tiny room but that's norm is Manhattan. Great location. Few minutes walk to times square. Good and groceries easily available around the hotel. Look out for Bread and butter restaurant near by. Good breakfast options.
Staff was very friendly and courteous. Super clean and professional. They have a calm and relaxed environment which I appreciate in a hotel.
Solid design... a slick, chain-version of the Ace hotel kinda vibe. Great staff. However... Poor sound proofing between rooms on the same floor, and also between the street and rooms. Yes... it s New York. But this hotel is LOUD! Hard to get a good sleep. In addition - some of the pictures used to market the hotel show small desks in some of the larger King bed rooms (while sadly there are none available... and good luck working on the tiny folding table, which is liable to fall over...), and make the rooms look much, much larger than they are. Management were unable to help when I asked about this discrepancy, and seemed confused. They directed me to work in the v loud lounge.
A bit pricy but the millenial vibe is one of a kind. Would love to stay here again.
Roof top bar was awesome! Great drinks great service! Unique and hip hotel! A must visit in NYC!
I loved the energy and the vibrations of this place. Great hotel and restaurant and bar! Attention to every detail.
Hotel earplugs ...
The location of the hotel is great, located within walking distance of Time Square and 3 different metro connections within walking distance. The rooms are small but very tidy and soon taken care of. Bed and shower is good.
Pay attention!!!!! However, one thing and that is the music of the parties, which can be felt literally and figuratively everywhere on every floor below. Wednesday to Saturday every evening until 02:00 to 04:00 loud music. How neat the hotel is, how beautiful the rooms are, I would not recommend sleeping here. I think the hotel has not understood what it is a hotel for.
We currently sleep on the 14th floor, this is 8 floors below the rooftop bar, the higher you sit, the louder the music. There is also a bar on the second floor, so too low will not work.
For the noise you might as well go to sleep in the lobby, there it is only 71 decibels.
@alex you should experience is for yourself. And do a sound check ...... you also can adjust the maximum of base. And put a decibel meter next to the dj booth. Or put a sound liminter between the dj mixer and the sound system ...
What is more important the hotel guest or the bar revenue?
Really modern and cool vibe. It had a younger feel, but I felt right at home on a stay for a 50th birthday. Loved the non-hotel decore in the room. Just avoid floors near the club on Saturdays. It was so loud at 4am we couldn't sleep. Food in the seafood restaurant was outstanding, as was the service. Enjoyed that meal more than we did the 4 star steakhouse across the street. I'd definitely go back. Great location too.
Hotel very nice and trendy. The staff is welcoming, the hotel has everything you need (rooftop, gym, comfortable rooms). Small flat for the noise of rooftop evenings in the rooms (16th floor for our part) that tarnishes the beautiful experience.
The staff is friendly and helpful, not a review of them
The hotel is trendy, looks and smells nice. The place is new or recently renovated because the rooms look great, as do all the common areas.
However
The beds, and pillows have the same issues all the "almost Marriott" hotels have. The bed is uncomfortable at least for me (28yo male) and the pillows are some kind of down or something so your head goes right to the bottom of those without any real support.
Street noise is also an issue, It is NYC so that wasn't something I wanted to make to much of an issue out of. They do provide ear plugs in the room, that's a nice touch.
For my money, stay at the La Quinta around the corner, its actually really nice.
Pricey, but very cool. Like all Moxy's, eccentric with it's own identity. There's a carousel and mini putt on the roof with a view of the Empire state building. If you're already dropping mid-town money on drinks, might as well make a stop here to the roof-top bar for one.
The rooftop bar is beautiful, worth a visit if you are in the area, fun place to snap pictures and enjoy a drink or two and meet friends. Didn't like the large crowds at the bar, not so pleasant experience.
It was probably a mistake for a senior citizen to book this place, but the location and the price (we used Marriott points) were attractive. It's a "new model:" hotel (seen 'em in Europe) where the rooms are small -- bed isn't accessible from both sides, so if you're not alone hope your partner has a strong bladder -- and i think the idea is you stay in the common spaces. Almost no storage space in the room, so living out of suitcases, would be OK for a one or two day stay but we were there for 5 nights and it got old. Unlike the similar Euro hotels I've been in, the common spaces aren't all that great. Small, no place to get away from the music. Still, great location near Penn Station if coming in via EWR, comfortable bed, nice walk-in shower, clean (though we managed to miss service one day, housekeeping came by too early for us, then never came back when we were out the rest of the day.)
No coffee or free breakfast but everything is close by
Amazing atmosphere, but rooms are very small, especially considering the price
The common areas of the hotel are new and nicely furnished. The rooms are pretty small with no closet only hooks on the walls to hang items. One room me and my boyfriend passed in the hallway was literally the size of a dorm room. The service is sometimes good and sometimes not great. We called down to the front desk for extra pillows and had to call multiple times to get them to deliver the pillows. However when we were at the front desk the staff seemed more helpful.
No room should be situated above a bar. Period. Why do I have to wait till midnight until I can get some sleep? I can live with a tiny room, but music blasting? NOPE. Terrible.
Pretty cool place but the rooms are very small. My biggest complaint is that there's nowhere to put your luggage and other things. It also seems like they really tried too hard to be hip and cool at the expense of having better function and comfort.
Our room, which was the cheapest - 1 Double room was long and very narrow, whose bad took over 2/3 of its length and 959% of its width and had no table or a decent closet. One other inconvenience was that the shower head was attach3c to the ceilings and could not be held by hand.
Other than that, the hotel a location is superb.
Super central location to visit the city and enjoy Times Square. Also, ideal location for solo traveler wishing to make sure they have people right up to the entrance of their hotel
The small but very nicely decorated bedroom is very pleasant, the shower spacious and the bed very comfortable.
The shower products provided are of high quality, which is appreciable.
First time stay. Absolutely love it. So close to everything. This is my new favorite hotel. Will be a frequent guest
Obnoxious noise pretending to be music, staff seemed reticent to help, or point us in th right direction.
Had the opportunity to visit Moxy Times Square few weeks ago for a friend's birthday celebration. Upon entering this trendy hotel, first encounter with staff at check in was very positive experience. My inquiries were well addressed by a woman in the lobby who had a friendly demeanor. Aesthetically pleasant, especially the 2nd floor area. The hotel has a rooftop bar which is cute and cozy with a carousel - better to get there earlier on especially on weekends. The hotel staff was very accomodating to our needs during our time at there. The birthday celebration was a success and well enjoyed. It may be louder than other hotels but the beauty is in its central location if you are aiming to get around the city. During out stay we encountered no noise issue. The staff knew it was a birthday celebration and we were surprised to birthday decorations and mirror messages. What I especially found great was that when we asked if we could have our luggage held prior to check in so that time was not wasted in our city activities -- we were met with no hassle. Overall a reasonably priced, trendy vibe with pleasant staff in an excellent location close to Penn Station and Path train.
Such a cute hotel, wonderful atmosphere and somewhat tight spaces but they make it work.
Seems very new and centrally located, however very crowded
Unique room and brand from Marriott. Small but its NYC.
Walked past it during the blackout this past weekend. Was in the city.
Too cold, and people too cheap, such as Indians and Pakistani, and Arabic. If they come to times square in a group, they must all go into conference on the matter of spending 20.00 to go into a strip club, I don't like dealing with them from experience.
Hotel is nice . You need to ask for few things which should-be in your room , staff is kind and helpful.
I went to the rooftop bar with some friends. We had cocktails, which were ok but a bit pricey (same range as the other rooftop bars in that area I guess). All the staff was nice and professional.
Very hip and trendy hotel, with friendly 'fun' staff. Room was modern and clean, with good water pressure and comfortable beds. WiFi was fast and easily accessible. Hotel is very well located, and the bars were also really cool. Would highly recommend and likely return next time I'm in NYC.
Great location, loved the room nice and clean and loved the bar area the bar food was good too
Rooms are unique; make good use of limited space, still very comfy.
Very new, excellent location, very modern setting, very comfortable beds, rooms with a very youthful style and optimizing spaces to the fullest. It is a very comfortable hotel but you just have to consider it to rest enough to enjoy NYC and its long days.
The staff was helpful and honest, I paid to much at first without knowing, but during checkout they saw it and gave it back.
Music was horrible.. just be warn. It s cute hotel but you will not be able to go to sleep.
We had a flood in our place due to our neighbor breaking the shower. Had all my stuff soaked and a go pro and dji asmo camera broken as well. Obviously this didnt make me happy but it wasnt their fault and they comped the room and hooked me up with dry cloths until I got mine dried. They also said they would fix the 2 broken items once i submit something to them so... rough night but how they handled it is what's giving it the 5 stars. Outside of that the place was awesome. 5 bars/clubs in the hotel, a mens barbershop downstairs and they comp you with some free water and a free drink at the bar when you check in. I love NYC and I will be returning again!
Very modern hotel. Rooms are small, studio-like. Good fitness center and restaurants/bar on-site.
One of my favorite spots in midtown - great for freelancers to work out of. Fun bar on the roof, huge space and good restaurant attached - hasn't been TOO touristy (yet)
Funky hotel close to Times Square NYC. Friendly staff, the rooms are great and their roof top bar is a must
Here we do not have good memories ... we had problems with our reservation that in the end we had to change our hotel. The night we were the kitchen was burned and we were evicted from the hotel ..... a show.
Good energy. Touristy vibe. Outdoor installations are a great branding addition.
The hotel itself is quite good. Perfect location and very central. Unfortunately, the rooms are very small and there are no closets and shelves to stow the clothes. There were three of us for 10 days and it was quite chaotic
Only the first night and impressed. Been to two in Germany and this one is quite more mature and together plus much larger. The ones in Germany were trying too hard to be "hip" and as a consequence missed some basics of hospitality. This one is much more organized. This is NYC so don't expect large rooms. The common spaces are well done, roomy and we'll attended by both guests and staff. Restaurants are owned/operated by Tao Group. See pics of Legasea. Overall I recommend it!
So far so good! Nice staff nice room nice amenities
