Minimalistic contemporary art-decor boutique hotel. Rooms are tiny but give you a dorm/studio feel. Complimentary prosecco, fun Batman figurines, flexible furniture, great lounge-ish feel throughout the hotel. No complimentary breakfast/tea/coffee provided though. Pretty upbeat and a fun experience.

The location of the hotel, close to the Times Square and Macy s, might be great and terrible at the same time. It is the center of Manhattan so you re close to everything but on the other hand it is very crowded and noisy no matter what time of the day. The hotel itself is new, stylish and trendy. The staff is helpful, but sometimes can seem a bit annoyed. Just the way it is in most hotels, nothing special here. The smallest bedroom - Double - is truly small. There isn t even a small wardrobe or any place to unpack your clothes. I also had continuous problems w A/C. It has only three modes - OFF, FREEZ and BURN. It is also just behind the bed so the air from blows straight onto your head. But the shower is gorgeous. I have no idea why it is so big when there wasn t a room for wardrobe, but still - cool! I wouldn t recommend this hotel, or at list the double bedroom, for visits longer than few days. The bar serves food and drinks of much better quality that I would expect. The rooftop bar is also worth mentioning. It has nice view and great drinks.

The location was central and easy to get everywhere! Close to Times Square, Madison Square Garden and Penn station with easy commute to the airport. The rooms were clean and perfectly sized for 2 people. I loved the hooks to hang everything so that you could maximize the space. The bathroom was very nicely designed as well. Service was great - someone always around to help! I would definitely stay again!

Mt cool

For a recent trip to NYC for myself, my daughter and granddaughter (9) I googled kid friendly close to Time Square and the photo of the bunk beds popped up. I knew she would love that so I booked it. This hotel is not kid friendly. This hotel is a dorm room.

When we arrived we went to our room, with bags in tow, got in the room and discovered it wasn t clean. Went back down, still dragging luggage, they were able to find another 4 bunk room and we went back up. It was late and we were tired and hungry so we went to the hotel restaurant which was good, but again, not for kids.

In the middle of a four night reservation we came in to find we were locked out of the room. Back down stairs and find out the room is set for construction the next day. We have to pack up and move to a different room.
This is a cool place no doubt, but it is for college age kids and it is ran by college age kids.

I would not stay here again.

Over rated, rained and roof would not shut, gave them our names and kept us waiting for a table for hours, food fair at best, service not great. View is good if you can get near the edge.

The room was slighly larger than a cabin on a cruise ship. No counter space, no dressers or drawers for clothing. Tthe restroom is tiny also.
The staff was great, very friendly. The rooftop bar is nice, but it's so loud you have to wear ear plugs just to sleep. The hotel literally has ear plugs on the tiny stand beside the bed. The booming music can be heard til way past 2 am. Between the size of the room and not getting a good nights sleep for the 3 nights we were there, it was a terrible experience. A miserable way to spend $833. Yep, over $275 per night. I wouldhave rated it lower, but the staff was amazing.

The hotel is great, it's located in the
Korea Town neighborhood but next to Times Square (800m). It is in the center and from the airport it is very easy to get to LIRR and metro going down at Penn Station. Rooms somewhat small but for the area and price I find it great. Hotel quite new and with very good service.

I do not recommend permanently to stay in this hotel, the worst hotel to stay, they modified the bill after departure and increased 50 dollars, and two bills were sent, one upon departure, one bill after departure, and a withdrawal of 50 dollars for no reason. An order was requested from Amazon and the hotel hid it, and Amazon was contacted, and they confirmed that the hotel received it by the receptionist and after the matter escalated, they showed them the next day of the reception The manager is completely unhelpful in any problem, and he refuses to answer the phone of the Booking.com to refund the amount The hotel is not safe The rooms are only cleaned every 4 days and the room is very cramped

Very cool and relaxed hotel. Stylish decor and relaxed people come together with the perfect location to explore New York. Rooms were very clean and bigger than expected.
Would definitely go back here.

Excellent service! My first room on 3rd floor was very noisy. I called the front desk and almost immediately they were at my room with keys to a new room to a very quiet part of the hotel! Thank you so much for a great quiet stay in an adorably decorated room!

After staying there for 9 nights I can't say that I had a bad experience but the time here wasn't as impressive as what some comments said.

First of all thanks to the staff. For such a long stay in NYC it was great to have a so friendly and helpfull staff.

Moxy Time Square is very well designed and beautiful but sometimes design is not everything:
-The system with card for the elevators worked good with one of our card but not at all with the other one
-The room is very (very) small. Even if it would be good for a long weekend it was really to small for a trip of 10 days. They foreseen on the wall and under the bed places to put stuff but these were far from being practical
- On the other hand the bathroom is really big compare to the room. With a so small room I am wondering if it was worth having a shower where 3 people might easily fit
-The bed was 5cm smaller than the room. If it is to make tailor-made furnitures why didn't they make them 5cm broader? My phone's slipped in it and it was a really mess to get it back. Without speaking of the dirty tissues etc as the room is impossible to clean.

Aside of that nice initiatives are made like giving water and offering one free drink when check in but:
- why not giving a water container and put a fountain instead of giving mini bottle of water every day? In a modern hotel I am wondering why ecology is not on the agenda
- why the cocktail offered is not tasty? I understand that premixed the cocktail makes it easier and cheaper but if the idea was to promote the bar to the host of the hotel why not giving them something tastier?

Really enjoyed the hotel. Room was tiny tiny, but it wasn't a surprise and can't ding them for that. The room is very stylish and well designed - really hip. The staff was really friendly.

We booked the hotel weeks in advance and were excited to stay at the hotel. We drove 5 hours. The guy that checked us in didn t even verify the room with us. For our surprise, when we enter the room it was just for one person. When we call the front desk, they said they will send someone up and never did. We ended up going downstairs and were told by two people that they didn t have any rooms available but when we went downstairs for a second time Anthony was able to get us the room we paid for! It was very frustrating to encounter this and for the staff to act like! Anthony definitely knows how to offer great customer service !

Amazing hotel! The location was superb, only 5 minutes walking distance from Times Square and very close to subway stations. Next to Macy's. Rooms were small, however very modern design and clean. We loved it.

Visually beautiful, but extremely small rooms. Not too bad if you have a few or one suitcase. Good for groups, but if you would like leave and quiet specify when booking. The only bad thing about it, therefore my 3 starts is that the bathroom doors are see through! That can be embarrassing when staying in such close quarters! :(

The rooms are clean, comfortable but teeny.

The rooms are clean, comfortable but teeny.

They evoke that feeling of your first campaign on Manhattan when you stayed in a hostel and took pictures in times square and bought day-of tix for a play you'd never heard of but it turned out amaz... Wait? You didn't? Well now you DEFINITELY need to stay at the Moxy because it's like all that but with your own private bathroom and you don't need to bring your own towel. (Seriously, they have bunk beds in the 4 person rooms, it's kitsch).

All that said, the bar & restaurant & other rooftop bar are quite grown-up with a relaxed atmosphere and very high quality food.

Personally, I think it's the best of both ways. So I've stayed there maybe a dozen times on business trips.

Pro-tip: when you first get to your room find the bedtime stories to unlock the secret cocktail menu at the bar (;

I have the privilege of travelling a lot for work and Ive never been so disappointed in a hotel before.

Positives:
- Hotel staff were sometimes friendly
- It was pretty easy to access from JFK and close to a lot of subway stations so nice for carrying bags
- The TV is a smart TV
- The bed linen is quite nice

Negatives:
- I paid for the queen room, (I believe this is middle tier) and the room was no bigger than 12sqft. I couldn't believe how different and how much smaller it was to the pictures shown
- The room had no cupboards or draw space (just enough for about 5 t shirts underneath the bed) and was exchanged instead for about 20 hooks along the long wall, not ideal for keeping anything folded or neat
- There is no mini fridge or coffee making station in the room, so you have to leave the room to get an ice bucket which from my hotel room was two separate lifts away, and these don't get picked up when your room is cleared so I ended up having about 8 in my room
- There was water left for us when we entered but except for that we had to ask for more to be brought up, which got a touch irritating towards the end
- I was staying on the 15th, of 17 floors and I could just hear the bass of the music from the bar upstairs, sometimes until 2am so made my stay near on unbearable, also there was no benefit to staying on the 15th floor as the windows were tiny and offered no view
- The rooftop bar upstairs looks nothing like it does in the photos and we were treated by a lot of hostility by the bouncers and staff there, we left immediately
- I wasn't asked how my stay was when I was checking out

- The drink prices were astronomical considering it was a 3 star hotel, looking at 30 bucks for a glass of wine and a beer

I just think this hotel didn't really care about how my stay was and actually put a downer on my getaway with my partner which is a shame as this was something we were looking forward to for a while to one of my favourite cities in Ive been too.

I would not stay here again and I urge you to look for somewhere else as this isn't even a cheap hotel.

Small room but NYC has much to do, great luxury place, the new elevator system with the keycard doesn t seem to always work though, I tap it and it doesn t tell me which elevator. Also there was no Holy Bible. They came for room service at 5:30 tho

I chose this particular Moxy on a recommendation from a friend who has stayed here, and due to its location and proximity to Times Square, where my nephew, niece, and I would be spending a lot of time this past weekend. Staying here was suppose to be easy, fun, and central (so we wouldn't have to plan everything...we could just get up and go). Our stay did NOT start in the most pleasant manner. At. All.

Friday night, around midnight -- we arrived much later than expected due to flight issues (standard). There was NO ONE at either side of the check area. NOT A SINGLE MOXY EMPLOYEE. So, I used the self-serve kiosk, which, thankfully, was quite easy to use. Got keys, easy peasy. When we got up to the room, that's when things went off the rails. The room was hot; very hot. The thermostat claimed it was 68-70, but it was much cooler in the hallway. The AC was not working. At. All. We all needed to get some sleep...but, it was so hard with the room being so hot. And so cramped. I called the front desk, and the "engineer" came up, ripped the wall open, told me stuff that didn't resonate, set the temp, then said to wait awhile "for it to kick in", then left. Don't get me wrong, he was a super nice guy....but, frankly, he did nothing. We slept in the hot room, and sweated the entire time.

By the morning, the room was even warmer due to the 3 bodies sleeping in the room. As we were leaving for the day, we went past the front desk, and I asked the young lady (now there were Moxy employees there) about the AC, and if she could send someone to fix it. She seemed like she didn't care, and glared at me a bit as she typed something into her terminal. And, without any emotion, looked at me, and said with a wave of her hand, "We'll send someone up...you can go now." Not an apology. Nothing. I was taken aback, but, not being statused with Marriott Bonvoy, I guess that 's how they treat non-"elites". Luckily, by the time we returned to the room, the AC was working, and the room had cooled down. Almost a full 24 hours later, we had working AC.

Just a quick comment on the room -- we had the 2-bed loft room (1 queen, and a twin sized loft). It is CRAMPED. Teeny tiny. I could almost touch both opposite walls with my hand and foot. The bathroom sliding door is virtually see-through, so be aware of that. And, there is almost no place to put 3 open luggages, so you can imagine what the minimal floor space must've looked like.

The location can't be beat, as it's quite central to Mid Town and Times Square. If you're going to see shows, this is a great location for just that. The subway station is a couple of blocks away. But, the area in front of the hotel is crowded, and there is hardly enough space for your rideshare or taxi or car service to come fetch you -- be aware of this, as you will be very frustrated craning your neck to see if your car has arrived.

Checkout is easy -- I did it on the app, and it was easy. But I'm still a little peeved that Marriott Bonvoy has never offered to compensate me for that awful 1st night and the rude behavior of the front desk the following morning. Overall 3 stars -- a "meh" rating. The location is 5 stars. The room and its "amenities" is 1 star. And, other than that engineer, the service is almost non-existent (2 stars for the on-premise engineer).

All I can do is shrug...and probably never stay at this hotel again.

Interesting hotel... wants to be a nightclub too. Rooms were small but cozy. Very comfortable beds. Staff everywhere was extremely pleasant and nice. We didn't hear the rooftop bar at all... only city noise which you will hear at any hotel in NYC. We are older, and it was fine, but a great place for younger guests for sure. More of a millennial crowd but we liked it. Location is superb.

Stayed 4 nights. Nicely renovated hotel. Room are outrageously small. We paid almost 900 dollars and felt to be in a box (3 adults 1 baby). AC very noisy. Noise from the street...they give you earplugs by default! Room were properly cleaned.

Very nice Manhattan views. Empire state building in front of you. Drinks are good but expensive but it will take you ten minutes to get the bartenders attention even if you're right in front of him. Good music.

The staff greeting when entering the lobby made me smile. Loved my elevator ride. Its cool to see what floors we are going to/stopping at. The bar/work space is beautifully done!! I didn't get to go to the rooftop because of some private event. I hope next time I can go! Rooms are efficient and reminds me of a high end hostel - in a great way! There's also a steamer in the room - perfect!! @omsatyayoga

I never knew this place existed until recently. It is such a wonderful spot to meet people for business drinks. You can sit in a huge selection of little cozy spots where you can actually hear each other!

Location is very good, *but* we had a lot of noise all night long, it was immposible to sleep untill 5am. After the night we understood why there where ear plugges near the bad.
When we asked the staff to change the room we had to wait a lot of hours.

If Google gave me the option, I d give around 4.5 stars. I stayed here for a weekend with friends. It s the only hotel I ve seen with bunk beds as an option which worked perfectly for our group. The vibe of the hotel was nice (Millennial/Gen Z) oriented and the staff were attentive. The room was definitely small but that s par for the course for Manhattan. The layout of the room could be better. There was an awkwardly placed television and the shower configuration resulted in a lot of water pooling on the floor. Pillows were a little flat. The sound bar you could connect your phone to, however, was very nice. I also appreciated the free drink token upon check in and luggage storage was convenient. I didn t see the gym so I can t comment on that. I saw some signs for cool activities like yoga. Overall, a solid hotel in a central location near all the bus and train drop offs at Penn Station perfect for a weekend with friends for 20-somethings. I would stay here again.

Reasonable price and a nice clean trendy place to stay. Our window view is a brick wall... Not an amazing view by any stretch. We mainly wanted this as a home base for our adventures and it is perfect for that. Rooms are next to spotless. Note that the rooms are laid out quite differently than what you might see anywhere... we had a queen with a single bunk over it.

Spent way too much money for new years eve reservation thinking my daughter would enjoy rooftop, seeing the lights and so on. Nonrefundable. A couple of weeks before our stay I get another invitation for various new years eve activities. The packages are for rooms less expensive than mine, No big deal, I call to get the discounted rate on new years activities. Well, it is a big deal, at one point spoke to a manager who said that's what I get for reserving early. Well, long story short, we had new years eve with our friends at a lounge downstairs, forget rooftop. I tried to take my daughter to the roof the next day, and now we are told that she can't go up because she is a minor. This crappy little place has tiny rooms, no room service, no coffee in the room even. And now I find out we can't even visit the attraction that prompted me to reserve this dump in the first place. Never again, i will stick with hilton and starwood in the future, ESPECIALLY for special events.

Like many affordable places to stay in NYC the rooms are tiny however you don t want to stay in your room when there is so much to do. The hotel is millennial cool so don t expect high level of service in fact they try to make it self serve from check in to snack bar. The drinks at the bar are expensive yet the atmosphere is great. A great location in mid town to walk and explore.

Great experience in this hotel ! i have stayed here 2 times and both were more than memorable. The room is just right not too much of anything you wont need yet still trendy and modern. Location is spot on and close to everything with access to the sight you need and want. remember to stop next door at Egg Head their egg sandwiches are unreal !

Was disappointed. Check in disorganized and took 40 min for our room.after getting our room.they gave us a chip for welcome cocktail.would have been nice to have the chip during our wait. coffee not ready in main room early enough. Had to buy coffee at dunkin donuts. Put do not disturb button on.maid came in room anyway and locked us out.had to get maintenance to let us in. At night they close an elevator for roof bar. Takes 10 minutes to get elevator to your room. Music from roof bar went on till early am.guess that's why they give you free ear plugs. Seems like they were more interested in roof bar than hotel customer service.

The hotel was very cool, and the rooms were clean and the beds were comfy as well.

I will probably not stay at the Moxy again due to the noise. Our room was on the 17th floor, and it was nearly impossible to sleep because the nightclub on the roof was open until around 4 am and there was absolutely no sound proofing.

A fun place to stay, for no more than a night.

Welcome to the hotel without wardrobe. Internet images deceive, you do not have a closet, only about 4-5 hangers. The normal double room has 6-7 square meters, the bathroom is like that of an airplane. Excellent location, it is new, very modern decoration. It seems that you are in a room mate, until you open the door. You drop your soul at your feet, tiny room, with a claustrophobic little window 120x45 cm wide. The double bed attached to the wall, if you get off the bed you have to jump over your partner. I strongly advise against it. Some guests have dinner with take-out and leave the garbage at the door. At 11 at night the corridors are a pigsty. What a disaster in a hotel of the Marriot chain, it is not a hotel, it is a well decorated hostel
