If I could give 0 stars, I would. I brought my ATV in for a backfire, they said they adjusted everything and found an internal head gasket leak which they said was fixed. After $1K and 12 miles later, the motor came apart with the wife riding it. Moon said they would look at it, and when I say look at it they never had me take it off the trailer, just looked at it and said it was nothing they did. I washed my hands of it and gave it to another ATV mechanic, which called me within an hour and said the head gasket was never done, the motor had never been apart and had pics. I called Moon again with that info, they said they would have "upper management" call me, no messages no call. I guess that was they're answer. If your business prides itself on customer service, which is what they told me multiple times, then make the effort to say what you can or won't do.
You say that the service department was clear and to the point and told me that I had a failing engine, that is not the case, if anything it was very vague. I was left with the impression that it should all be good. The word failing never came up, I was told that all the fluids were changed and it had an internal head gasket leak and I said fix it and that is ALL they said. If the word failing came up, why would I fix it? I have been told by other mechanics, at that time Moon should have asked to look at the lower unit, I was not. I guess my expectations were too high. When you bring a used machine into "professionals" you should have high expectations that the work was done thoroughly and correctly. This whole experience and your accusatory attitude toward other mechanics who I sought out, were just giving honest opinions and don't even have a dog in the fight, and were willing to talk to you and provide pictures, which were denied, is actually embarrassing. Gift certificate or not, Moon failed. I'm just saying anyone going to Moon for service better check everything with a fine tooth comb, ask questions, and then do it again. Once you leave, its unfortunately on you. They can respond to reviews and say he said she said...blah blah blah, and you end up taking it in the tailpipe. just flat out poor communication, and lack of any responsibility.
Joel, you better go back and read my review, I never accused moon of anything, I wanted Moon to see if the work was actually done, I was denied. Gerry knows his machines, thats why when he questioned the work, I figured maybe it wasnt. Thats where we sit now

Great selections. I like how they didn't have a "Do not sit on bikes" sign on their bikes so you can carefully try anything you wished. 3 stars because I was their for 45 mins and not even one employee came ask me if I needed any help. People came after me got helped. Sucks being young minority, I guess. People don't take you seriously and always judge by your look. If someone could have came up to me I might have taken a new Triumph T100 home. I brought $5,000 cash ready for down payment.
Great Inventory used and new. Very knowledgeable salespeople. Will allow test drives and honestly want you happy with your choice in bike. They encourage you to try multiple bikes to make sure. Will return again next time I'm changing things up!
I have been doing business with Moon Motorsports for over 30 years and they truly are the best in the business. The sales team, the service department, the parts department are all the greatest people to deal with. I have called in a panic when one of my bikes have stopped running and they have dropped what they were doing to help me get back on the road. I have called to make an appointment for service and they have been very considerate of my time requests to find a fit for my schedule. The sales team is so friendly, knowledgeable and low pressure which is exactly what I an looking for when I am looking to make a purchase.I have recommended your dealership to everyone I know and many of them have done business with you and have had the same great experience. Brian has always treated me fair in the service department They have treated me fair in sales. I now am about 95 miles away and still shop there. Worth the trip because I am greeted as a friend and not a a sale. The open house in the spring is a great kick off to the riding season and meet old and meet riding buddies. "

Huge selection of bikes, not a whole lot of gear and once again the parts department seemed either overworked, underpaid or both! I'm just glad they were not busy.
Facilities and quantity/quality of products were nice. Staff for the most part ignored us, probably because we had our small children with. Honestly Our Business is going elsewhere... not an inviting place at all unless your a single older male... who is by yourself... and actually one person did say something, they said Goodbye as we were walking out the door. I didn t know they were even an employee until they said it either.
Jesse and the rest of the team at Moon are excellent to work with. We purchased a new KTM sxf450 there in late December, and the business was so great that my boyfriend and I went back a picked up a second bike just recently. They are friendly, efficent and take very good care of their customers! We couldnt be happier.
I was stranded when an electrical gremlin disabled my BMW R1200RT 300 miles from my home last Sunday. The BMW MOA listed Moon as nearby, and the tow guy said he'd recommend it. On Monday morning, Brian heard my problem, wrote a work order on the spot, and put Earl on it. By 9 AM, Earl had spoken with my tech back home, told me what he found, and made a recommendation. Brian did not charge me for a full hour, even though the bike had been there for three. After trying what Earl suggested, I solved the problem and saved my 5,000-mile trip. I believe Moon did a GREAT job for me and would recommend them to anyone. Two customers I met while waiting said they felt the same.
I just updated my motorcycle by trading in a 2004 R1150GS for a 2011 R1200GS at Moon Motorsports. I had stopped there this summer and was very impressed by the dealership. Real guys who are really into motorsports. They were asking a 100% fair price for the 2011 R1200GS and they gave me a very fair trade value. Chris...the finance manager made financing the balance painless. My salesman was Matt Kobow who did a great job communicating with me by phone and email prior to the pickup of my new bike. There is a reason I drove an hour to Monticello to buy this bike...and passed a BMW dealership that is about 5 minutes from my house. Thanks Moon for the great experience.

I like this shop because they have many varieties of manufacture motorcycles. 3 years ago I bought a 883 HD Sportster with saddle bags and windshield, custome seat And exhaust system, less than 10,000 miles for $3,000.

Huge selection of vehicles, clothing is limited but not nearly as important as the units. Very clean and large showroom to allow you to think about your options without being run over by a stream of people. Worth a look!
I spent a year looking for a motorcycle and Moon earned my business through fairness and transparency. Be patient and upfront and they will respond in kind. I first met them on a Ducati demo day and had a great experience. I came back a few months later to test ride a couple bikes (see pic) and the staff was very attentive. The process was simple and they gave me all the time I needed. Kyle also showed interested in my Honda and we had a quality chat. At the time, I did not realize he is the co-owner which is impressive having seen his patience, engagement, and open nature on several occasions.
I got a printout of their best offer on a 2016 Ducati Hypermotard 939SP and took it home to consider. I wanted a bigger discount since it was a demo bike, and waited them out through the winter. I phoned Kyle in Feb. and he was open to negotiating, so we met the next day. He matched my price including parts and service and we signed a fair deal. Take note: There is a 3% fee when using a credit or debit card to purchase a motorcycle.
What puts Moon at the top of the game in MN is flexibility from owners who honor their word. I am from Los Angeles and tend not to trust people. I had a list of conditions for my purchase and Kyle, the parts dept., and service followed through on each item. They passed every test.
In contrast, my neighbor bought a 939SP from Motoprimo. It was also a demo bike that sat on their floor for a year, and they were completely unwilling to negotiate. I got a much better deal at Moon for an identical machine. In my experience, Moon is the best of the five dealers in central Minnesota.
Sean and I went to your store to finalize our purchase on a 2015 BMW and a whole lot of gear. Your staff is stellar. We'd spent some time with Matt prior to coming in yesterday. He provided us with everything we asked for and then gave us space. Our first buy in was to him.
When we were in yesterday we had the pleasure of working with Matt again, Tyler and Julie. Fantastic customer service from all three. No rushing, no pushing. They all knew the product lines so they could give us informed answers to our questions.

Best price I could find, fastest and easiest on the paper work I have ever had on any vehicle ever . No high pressure sales. 5 stars goes out to Jesse, ask for him. Great service Jesse. I drove a very long way to pick up the motorcycle. No hassle at all.

At around midnight I put in a request to test ride a bike that, as it turns out, they didn't have and won't have for quite some time. 9:15 AM the next day, Chris calls me and explains the situation, asks what it is I'm looking for in a bike, and invites me to come by and check out some bikes if I wanted to.
I showed up at noon on a beautiful late summer Saturday, and it was busy. Staff were everywhere, and I wasn't able to wander for long before being asked if I needed anything and whatnot -- but not in that pushy, Best Buy "get out of my store" kind of way.
Anyhow, I was.. a problem. I went in there not knowing really what I wanted, just had a vague idea of what I didn't like about my current bike and what I might like in others. Chris walked me around and showed me a few bikes, we talked a bit, then he asked if I wanted to go ride some. Sure, twist my arm, hahah.
Four or so bikes later I now have a much better understanding of what I like and don't like -- and it looks like the bike I originally wanted might be the ticket. We'll see.
Thanks to Moon and a big thanks to Chris for spending the time with me (a good three hours I'd say) talking about and looking at various bikes that might suit me. A+, if I ever buy a bike new this will absolutely be the place I go.

Joel was polite and answered all of my questions and didn't give me a hard time about where I purchased my parts which was very nice. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. He also offered to transfer me for additional help with parts. I feel he went above and beyond what i asked. The only reason to not shop online anymore is customer experience and Moon Motorsports nailed it.
I worked with Tyler Lobertman at Moon Motorsports for the purchase of my new BMW K 1600 GTL Exclusive. This is my first BMW and I owned my last motorcycle for 16 years, the technology has changed a lot since then. As you can imagine I had many questions for him. I did talk other dealers and couldn't believe the lack of knowledge about the products they sell. Tyler answered all of my questions and went through my new bike with me. He even went as far as helping me figure out the best spots to safely tie down my bike so I could trailer it home.

Very nice full service shop. Kyle could not have been better on getting me the new Tenere 700. There were a limited amount of these bikes with a limited window to order them. Always on top of things and keeping me updated till it came in. Great service. Nice people. Highly recommend them.

I had been searching for a tough to find (2015) lightly used r1200gs Adv--and Moon Motorsports happened to have one come in very recently on trade (the day before I showed up!). The sales group worked with me on both price and equipment to get exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price (we added gearshift assist). They even threw in a set of rear brake pads and a rear brake fluid flush when they did the gearshift assist install!
I found their sales, parts, and service groups to be great to work with--which made for a very easy purchase experience. I will definitely be seeing them in the future with my motorsports needs. Thanks for an enjoyable experience, Tyler and everyone else at Moon Motorsports.
Matt at Moon Motorsports was great! He was very patient with me as I mulled over my purchase, and stopped in several times to check out several motorcycles I was interested in. He also gave me a timely evaluation of my trade in. I could not be happier with all of the staff at Moon, now I just have to wait for the salt to get washed off the roads so I can enjoy my new bike. Now that I m thinking about it come on Matt get on it and get those roads clean.
I just bought a 2020 Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro, and am delighted with both the bike and the purchasing experience. This is the third bike I have bought there in the past eight years; I keep returning because they are low-pressure, very willing to offer test rides, and gave what I felt were decent trade-in values. They also refrain from arm twisting on extended warranties, in contrast to my recent car buying experiences. I also appreciate the support they have provided over the years to the Central Roadracing Association.
Brought my Tiger in for scheduled maintenance issues. Everything was repaired correctly. Feels like a new bike. Logistics took a long time but worth the wait
Called to see if they had a part that was nowhere to be found anywhere else. I gave them the right part number and was told that they had it in stock. Well then my wife and I jumped in the Truck and drove from Duluth to there (160 miles one way) and then was told sorry we can't find it!!! The only reason I gave 2 stars is they did hook me up with dealer in St. Cloud that had one. So if you need a part make sure they have it in hand before taking a 160 mile ride for nothing.
Everyone was great to work with in parts department. Spent lots of time to make sure I had everything I needed! Very personable staff who genuinely wanted to help me. Would go back and recommend to anyone.
