Absolutely wonderful, staff very pleasant and hard working, food splendid, reasonable beer selection. Clean and tidy.
Lovely food and lovely service, first time visit but we will be back
Really lovely setting, food was of a very high stsndard. The room was in need of a bit of attention the carpets needed changing and just a general refresh. Overall a very nice hotel.
We went there for a family members wedding. We stayed in a family room which was spacious and the beds were really comfy. The food was beautiful as was the venue itself, staff were attentive and really helpful.
Popped in for a quick drink on Saturday afternoon. Good venue, good choice of beers... friendly staff. Recommend!!
Beautiful location and excellent quality food and service.
Food was ok but didn't like the taste of anything so left hungry. Overrated but try it for yourself
My wife and I are regularly vistors to the Moat House and always find that we have a warm and friendly welcome I would like to especially mention Kim who always remembers us and a "usual " order
Good food and service in a traditional hotel. They also have EV charge points!
Lovely venue great food the host Vanessa is excellent professional and friendly a real star
Huge place set at a stunning location within a small village with the canal running along one side and a pond on the other. Staff were pleasant enough and the bar is a nice place to be sitting by the log fire and relaxing.
Food looked great and will come back again to give it a try for sure.
First time out since September, lovely friendly staff, all socially distanced, felt very safe, well done to all the staff and for everyone behaving respectfully.
Had a beautiful day and night for my daughter wedding staff was very good
Beautiful food but drinks are rather expensive. Good for special occasions.
Pleasant staff and beautiful surroundings the food could been a bit better though
Had some lunch in the bar area. Food is a little expensive but really nice and well worth the money. There was a wedding on when we went so outside it was a little busy however still loads of parking and the bar was separate to the wedding so service was quick.
We stayed here for one night. Very nice hotel, comfortable and attentive staff. A little near the highway, we must keep the windows closed. The dinner at the hotel pub was successful.
Excellent food, ambiance and place, staff little dippy.
My Husband held his 40th Birthday party at The Moat House. We couldn't of asked for anymore. The food was excellent, The Staff were excellent. Even the planning leading up to the event and our meetings with Gaynor were fab. We stayed in one of their suites which was immaculate and the bed was really comfy. Even breakfast the next day was superb. Not one of our guests had 1 thing to say bed about the venue. We have also attended a wedding here in November and again it was faultless. I would recommend The Moat House to anyone and look forward to our next stay.
Great location and good food the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon
Great service and food/drinks, the building is very nice and the outside area is also very nice.
Fantastic outside space with beautiful views in all directions. Great for horse chestnut trees, the kids collected hundreds of conkers!
Would like to highly recommend Emily (the venue owner) for her amazing hospitality at The Moat House. Emily and her team is very welcoming, supportive and organised in all aspects. Fab venue for big weddings and micro wedding, as well as for a fine dining experience. 5 star service!
Normally good but recent visit dissapointing, both our main courses of pork and beef were tough and chewy
Excellent venue for my nieces wedding. Amazing food, good range of drinks.
We were married at the Moat House 18 years ago and returned yesterday to celebrate with a meal and a nights stay. The food staff and room were all excellent . We cannot recommend the Moat highly enough.
Disappointing. Arrived to find a wedding party of chavs in hired sports cars blocking the road and filling the carpark. Not told when booking and no apology when cancelling table.
To sit outside on a warm summer say the best in Stafford for beauty
Excellent! The perfect venue. With help from the friendly and professional team at the hotel, I recently organised a two-day business meeting for 30+ people. The location of the hotel is fantastic as delegates travelled from the north and south of the country. Access to the M6 is minutes away, yet the immediate surroundings of the hotel are idyllic.
Unlike most hotel meeting rooms, The Acton Suite was full of daylight and looked out on to the beautiful canal where the occasional barge floated by! Dinner for the group was served in the Colin Lewis Suite. The food was delicious (lots of compliments in particular about the lamb shank) and the service impeccable. Breakfast was served in an equally bright and sunny space and my room was most comfortable, clean and freshly decorated. The feedback from the delegates was entirely positive and I looked forward to planning our return visit. Highly recommended!
A very peaceful and beautiful place to sit out in the summer. If you dont like ducks or wasps then don't go. Inside is very quaint and traditional. Food is good if limited on lunch time. Good value for money and high ended menu.
Only few minor things that drop this from being 5star
Really great hotel, clean, friendly staff and excellent food!!
Helpful staff, good food with an extensive menu including vegetarian options.
Only there for a conference but very pleasant and delightful location.
The place is beautiful, but I was really disappointed bar staff couldn't tell me what drinks had gluten in. Can't recommend to other coeliacs.
Lovely spot for a quiet drink on a beautiful spring evening.
Amazing hotell and food in a lovely area by the canal.
Beautiful grounds. Great food. Perfect staff. Highly recommended. My daughters wedding was perfect there.
Always a great place to visit and the food is amazing
Best restaurant in the Stafford area. The staff are efficient and helpful. The quality of local food amazing. Love all the extra bits , sorbet etc. Brilliant place for any special occasion..
Went for my husband Christmas party. Nice room and our bed room was just what we needed for a family of 5.
The meal was absolutely beautiful, the setting gorgeous and the staff lovely
Great hotel superb food clean and comfortable accommodation highly recommended
We got married here last month, and we couldn't have wished for a better day. Leading up to the day, our wedding coordinator was always available to discuss our plans with us, giving us advice based on her experience and making us feel at ease during the biggest thing we had ever organised. We fell for the Colin Lewis Suite straight away with its wooden beams and high ceiling. It's an intimate room without feeling claustrophobic when full of people. Our wedding breakfast was downstairs in the Acton Suite, which was a nice open space surrounding by views of the canal. It has a private patio onto the canal, which was a good place for the photos. We also had some nice photos of just us around the moat itself, with jetty surrounded by the greenery making a few very pretty pictures. The food was spot on, with no complaints from anyone. It almost feels wrong recommending other couples to have their wedding at the same venue as us, but our day was so special we're more than happy to do so.
Good service unfortunately the food seems to have come from a pedigree tinned dog food mixed selection
The most amazing place. We had a beautiful sunny day and over night stay as attending a wedding. Grounds and hotel immaculately looked after, staff are really friendly.
The restaurant is situated close to the canal with seating both inside and out. There is an onsite bar along with dedicated dining space. The staff are friendly and useful and are happy to accommodate most needs.
The food we had was great, there was a wide variety with included palette cleansers. Food is more expensive compared to other places however I would classify this as fine dining.
Divine!.. Would be a massive understatement!!
Fantastic food, utterly delightful!
Fantastic service from all from check in to check out.
Thank you all, so much!
Great facilities, excellent location next to the canal. The menu is inventive and seasonal but always delivers high quality cuisine. Fantastic as a function venue as well.
I ve just photographed a wedding at Moat House. I m a full time wedding photographer and see many places. This was my first time here and I d recommend this place to anybody who s planning their wedding. The place is simply stunning. The service I ve seen at Moat house is absolutely stellar. Vanessa and Hannah the wedding coordinators couldn t be helpful enough and delivered exceptional service. All the staff are super attentive and most importantly always smiling and happy to help. Big shout out to the top Barman called Sebastian who had exceeded all the expectations and looked after us all like a loyalty!!
I hope to work here again sometime soon.
Only really visit here for Sunday lunches and for that I definitely highly recommend!
