A beautifully set hotel. Own lake and a canal outside. Bedrooms just redecorate, but bathrooms a bit sad. But the whole place is just a bit of a haven. Breakfast and other meals of a good standard. Staff incredibly friendly and professional. Definitely coming back.

A very good Christmas dinner, particularly as the dining rooms were full so the kitchen was serving a lot of customers. A bit slow at the bar but a coach load had just arrived

I went for a wedding on Friday and I was quite looking forward to it as I had heard how nice this place was.... I was rather disappointed. The price for a drink... absolute rip off. The staff extreamly rude and grumpy, only the 1 bar man was friendly the rest were rude, did not want to help or talk when asking a question. The food very poor quality. Not enough seating for all the guests so a lot of us had to stand up. I will not be going back there in a hurry

Its truly a pleasure visiting the Moat House in Acton Trussell where the welcome is always large and the food AMAZING. Both the bar and the restaurant offer a superb selection of meals and the standard of service is always extremely high. A delightful place to visit.
Been here many times for many different occasions. It is our go to place when all the girls are in the area. Bedrooms are lovely, had the pleasure of staying with work a couple of times. Looking forward to coming back in October for my friends wedding!
Just stopped for a drink, dogs welcome on tables outside. Service was quite slow waited nearly 20 mins for drinks and then forgot our water. I guess they were still getting used to being open again with new rules and guidelines.

Attended a 40th birthday party and the food was very nicely presented and tasted delicious too. The drinks at the bar were over priced however, but this did not spoil our evening. Service was good and the staff were lovely.

Had a loverly evening running Snaptastic Photo Booth, the staff were very friendly and Ben was extremely helpful during set up. Truly recommend this venue to any Bride and Groom to celebrate their day!

Absolutely stunning! The food was top class! The service, exceptional! The three-course Sunday lunch was delicious with great variation! However, be prepared to pay a little extra than the usual Sunday lunch price. You get what you pay for here, and that is class! Highly recommended! :)

Good food. Had a vegan option. Portion sizes were very small though. As a four star I would expect the mains to be twice the size. Staff were prompt, surroundings clean and the moat looks really nice at night.
I booked afternoon tea here as a surprise for my wife's birthday. Everything was perfect. The venue was beautiful and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this place and hopefully I will return in the future

We had a fabulous wedding here on the 27th June 2015.
Overall the day ran really smoothly from start to finish.
The biggest compliment I can give the team, is how discreet they were, we only noticed them on the occasions when they were checking that we were happy with how the day was progressing, and whether we required anything else, which was not too frequent to be a pain, nor too infrequent that we felt like we were not looked after.
The food (both sit down meal and barbecue) was lovely, and we received compliments from a large number of the guests about the quality of the food. The team easily catered to my nut allergy, and were able to adapt the menu to all sorts of dietary requirements from vegan, to strawberry allergy!
The Moat House grounds are gorgeous, and it helped that with the lovely weather we enjoyed, we were able to experience all of the them, from the lakes to the canal.
The Honeymoon suite was also sumptuous, we managed to get half an hour to relax in the lounge before the evening guests arrived, just a shame we didn t get time to try out the bath!
Overall we would recommend the Moat House to anyone who is planning their big day.
What can I say? Just excellent service and meal in the "Bar and Restaurant" area.
Hope to return sooner than later.
Beautiful setting right next to the canal. Rooms quite stylish and the bed was extremely comfy. Breakfast in the orangery was very good.

Just had the most relaxing stay at this country side hotel. The customer service was the best I have had in a long time nothing was too much trouble. The food was tasty and well presented we stayed in suite 119 overlooking the moat which was a delight also the four poster bed so comfortable will be staying again. Well done to all the staff you are a great team. Having breakfast overlooking the canal this morning really topped our stay..many thanks.

This is an expensive pub but the quality is worth the extra cost - the food is lovely and like the drinks there is a good choice

Beautiful establishment in a beautiful setting .. Too bad the service is made plates and cutlery on the wooden tables without tablecloths. Price a bit expensive for an average quality .. Otherwise nice and nice frame.

We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and booked the summer tasting menu with wine flight. We had a great evening and thought a lot of effort had gone into the preparations. The menu was interesting and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the wines that had been chosen. In between courses there was an explanation of the food and wine pairing. We were offered top ups of wine! The service was excellent.
As this was a special event we booked a room. This was comfortable and clean but very dated. However the breakfast was super with a wide choice. Good service again.
We plan to return for another tasting menu.

Had our wedding here. Made all our arrangements with a lady who happend to be away on our big day without any warning. Was asked to be out of our suite by 10am the next morning and move to another room across the other side. No help moving bags and wedding gifts. Shocking treatment would never go back! On a plus the food was fantastic
