Polite courteous staff.Excellent canal side setting

There on business trip. Frankly excellent. Old fashioned courtesy and politeness together with idilic location and luxurious bedrooms. Food and cleanliness can't be faulted. 10/10

The rooms are abit dated and the room service menu does not have enough choice. The only thing I like about this this place is the nice seating area near the lake.

Great place stopped for afternoon tea.one of the best. If not the best lovely views of the canals and country side. Staff friendly and professional. . Certainly will be going back.

Beautiful gardens and rooms, we were there for our daughters wedding which was lovely. Hotel rooms a bit pricey.

We went for breakfast as non residents. There was an excellent choice of food from pastries to bacon, lovely selection of teas all served by professional and polite staff. Will definitely go back.

We went to a wedding here and the day was beautiful. Staff were brilliant and food was excellent.

I cannot praise the moat house enough. Held my son's wedding there and everything was perfect. The staff were so helpful and attentive. The food was excellent and the setting gave the photographer fabulous opportunities for photos. I would certainly recommend the hotel as a wedding venue.

Nice location easy to get to great all round service

Lovely setting, with helpful staff. The room are to an adequate standard and comfortable. The evening we wentnfir food the restaurant was busy and they had run out of a few items on the menu which was disappointing. Food was above average and the waiters helpful

We attended a wedding (full day). The attention to detail of the tables, service and food was impeccable. All food served all day was piping hot and full of flavour. Drink prices were competitive and ranges were good. The staff were friendly and helpful, even at midnight when the reception was still going. An impressive venue.

Attended an AGM here, the moat house staff provided drinks throughout the day and an evening meal. All were very professional and friendly throughout.

My wife and I are visitors from South Africa, and have been visiting the beautiful Lake District in the UK. We have been lucky enough to have stopped en route at this beautiful hotel in Acton Thrussel.We are hoteliers ourselves and can honestly say there are few hotels as special as this. The management and owners and staff can be complimented and deserve ten out of ten points. Thank you.
We can highly recommend this venue which is delivers more than 4 star in every department.

Nice Hotel, room large with big bed.
We stayed after a function, food very good.
Reception unmanned at 11pm, tried to get a bulb for bedside lamp.
Bulbs should be checked before people move-in.

The inside is very dated and stale but iv heard there doing a re-ferb which il look forward to see

Once or twice a year we meet our 2 friends here. They're from Shenstone & we're from Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Moat House is such a great venue. We always eat in the conservatory. Every time we've visited over the last few years the food & service are always excellent. We look forward to our next visit in 2020!

Lovely staff who were really helpful especially at breakfast . They need more bar staff on when it's a function . Rooms comfortable .

Great atmosphere, good food reasonably priced. Slightly disappointing that a number of items on the menu that our small group wanted from the menu were not available on the evening that we visited.

Really nice bar meal from locally sourced ingredients. Bar staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Lovely location, clean comfortable rooms, my only criticism is the staff especially the younger ones could do with a little more training.

Excellent food, but the service isn't up to the same standard when it's busy and BEWARE OF THE SWANS. Seriously, the signs weren't at all clear when we visited and one tried to attack our young children.

Lovely quaint pub and hotel, had a family celebration meal there and it was really nice food.

Nice and authentic atmosphere. Stayed there during a two meeting with colleagues from Cannock. Excellent restaurant with very aware staff. They take excellent care of people with food allergies.

Don't know anything about the rooms but the location is beautiful and the service is excellent although you need a sat nav to find the place

Attended here as a guest at a friend's wedding. Very nice place but found the bar prices to be quite expensive, whether this was because it was a hotel as opposed to a normal bar

Lovely room dinner was very good but breakfast was a bit of a let down gave up on toast and had to ask for our tea a couple of times. Would stay again

Excellent hotel,restaurant and pub. Have visited on several occassions both as a hotel guest, conference user and wedding attendee. Food of excellent standard and variety of ale on offer on the attached public house is also good. Quick tip. If you are a staying guest use the pub facilities rather thsn the in house drinkibg facilities due to the difference in variety anf quality of beverage.

Came here to get married. A super day in December. Excellent food. Had to get a member of staff to turn up the music before I walked down the isel. Staff friendly. Had fab pictures taken inside and out. Lovely setting to get married. Their disco was really good.
