If there was a negative star button this is the place it needs to be. Having to wait on hold is the least of the issue, the problem is calling in to talk to a rep that doesn t listen and talks over the whole time not trying to answer your question but constantly saying the same thing you already know. DING BAT THE AUTOMATIC SYSTEM FOR PAYMENTS IS NOT ACCEPTING THEM. I m calling to report it and to get a fax mum er but if Janet would ld have listened instead of getting smart she would have known that IDIOT!

The last time i called, i had someone who was as rude as can be. The second time around i have been being reput on hold and have had to press 2 more than 10 times now (didnt give me the option a million times the last time i called) and this is after the DMV in my town combined my last address and my current together!!!

They are unbelievable. My license is in jeopardy of being suspended if I didn't get sr22 or pay for the vehicle damages; however I filed an appeal to postpone my license getting suspended because the insurance company wouldn't have the release of damages sent to me in time. I ended up getting the sr22 and the release arrived to days before the appeal. I faxed the info to the supervisor Barb and she said if it was notarized it will save me the drive and work on my behalf. However even though I did everything from getting the sr22 and paid the damages my license is still at risk because she didn't give the information to the judge something has to be done about this

I have been trying to speak with a human being this week to no avail. Every time I call there is a 40-plus minute wait. They need to hire enough people so that Missourians can get the information they need. Having to wait that long is unacceptable.

I have never dealt with a company, government or o...

I have never dealt with a company, government or otherwise, that s been more disorganized or unhelpful that the MO DOR. The people, when I do finally get a hold of someone, are nice but they ve been completely unhelpful. I just need them to send me some paperwork so I get my car titled. It s been over a month since they ve received my paperwork and I ve called multiple times and gotten different answers every single time. Not one of them helpful. No one will tell me what happened to my paperwork or how much longer till they actually do their jobs. Apparently, they re now working on paperwork that was received after mine had already come in and a researcher has to investigate my case. A case of lost paperwork? I ve left messages with multiple people and no one has ever called me back. The worst part? Who am I supposed to turn to if the government can t even do their jobs properly? Am I just supposed to wait until some cop pulls me over and tickets me? Missouri, get your act together and finally start helping your tax payers.

These people have made recieving my license and temporary license as inconvenient as possible. Being in the active military has placed me in duty station where I am not anywhere close to home and required to have it mailed to me (even though they have emailed my temporary license before) but have failed to do so multiple times. It's been 7 months ongoing and I have yet to receive either and they act as if they dont care about my situation or care to remedy it. They are extremely rude and are not willing to help. I've already paid for my license yet they continue to hold it hostage and are basically forcing me to fly back home to retrieve it. This utterly ridiculous and if I ever receive my license I will be exchanging it for a different state license so I never have to deal with this establishment again. I will be complaining to the state representatives about this situation.

I drove over an hour just to register my historical vehicle, the staff was very curtious and good at their job. I was in and out in 45 minutes with my plate and vehicle registration change. When it comes time to renew the tags on all my vehicles i would be willing to make the drive rather than use my local office

DMV always get a bad rap. Today I was at my wits end and the two people at the front desk were the most understanding and helpful people I have ever came across!!!! I am so grateful to them they got everything fixed and were very efficient in telling me exactly what I needed to do. Thank you!!!

I had been trying to get the MO DOR to reply to my refund inquiry for ten weeks and all I got was "we'll get back to you in six to eight weeks". I was tired of getting the runaround so I sent a scalding email in large bold caps to the DOR refund inquiry email address and received a call from the Income Tax Correspondence Section Supervisor less than two hours later. I was amazed that she answered my questions within ten minutes. Then she sent me a copy of the checks I needed to document the problem. She was totally professional and very helpful. The DOR could use more supervisors like her.

They don't reply to emails and when you call their number after 10 mins of answering the automated questions the recording tells you they are too busy to answer your call. This place is a waste of tax dollars. Surprise.

I have called 5 -8 different time in the past 7 days and I have got 4 different answers. We have also been told so many things would work that didn t as soon as we went to the dmv. Jefferson City really needs to step their training up when it comes to the people answering the telephones. I also asked to talked to a supervisor and I have yet to receive that call. Thanks to you all this could mess up a really good job that had been lined up. Had we got the answers we got today then we would of already had it fixed by today instead of having to start back at the beginning!

I kinda was hoping it was a joke but it's not. So if they place a bogus address on your DL You only have to change your mailing address via a form and not officially to receive a DL!!! Sounds like fraud is encouraged or at least definitely not discouraged!!! I get to say live somewhere else. And could change anyone's address to mine and receive their DL if had a couple pieces of easily obtained information. Can't wait. ARE YOU KIDDING ME JEFF CITY!!!!

Unorganized and cannot complete simple tasks. While I was in the presence of an employee of the DMV, the state employee on the phone was instructed to simply fax one document back to the DMV. However, upon waiting for said document to be faxed this employee at the state could not even do this. Don't try to get things done with the state on your time, you have to give your self a couple hours of leeway because they are eager to shut off all communication by 5. Even with a DMV contractor's office.

I wrote to Gov. Parson s office to complain about the revenue office holding my tax return refund for so long. They forwarded it to dor. I got a call to explain why but the changes had been made and that was three weeks ago. I know several others who have not received their refunds. Why 12 weeks for processing ? This is ridiculous.

I called in today and didn't have to wait on hold for 45 mins! woohoo!! Spoke with a young lady named Bethany who was very polite and helpful. She was able to get everything ironed out with my problem in less than 10 mins.

Had to wait about 10 mins after check in to complete my title request because of Covid. I was helped by a very helpful employee and was very pleased with her level of knowledge. Good experience!

Deserves a negative star. I was kicked off my call twice after waiting 40 minutes each time. Upgrade your systems and hire more people for customer support. I've called into this office 4 times over the past 5 business days and every time there is a 40 person wait. UNACCEPTABLE. This isn't the 1940's.

(Update) I just got off the phone with theses people and they haven't started to process MY vehicle title. I do not understand why this is overly complicated.

Very unhappy. Sent me one notice that i owed a whole 54.10 and then i couldn't pay right at that moment and of course i couldn't get through to tell them i would pay at a later date because their automated system hangs up on you and doesn't let you actually talk to someone! So then they sent me a second notice threatening me with collections of FIFTY-FOUR dollars. VERY VERY unhappy with their service and i told them this as well via email since i thought that would be the only way i could get through to them and they didn't respond.

Phone service sucks. You wait with automated answering machines for nearly an hour & half the time they don t even work or they hang up on you. I tried 15 times to get through an automated answering machine to a caller but none of the buttons worked that they said to use. Terrible service. Take a day off work if you need to get ahold of them

It s taken them three weeks to process my title paperwork because a DMV employee keyed in the wrong date. Three weeks to change a date...

I ve had DOR employees blatantly lie to me over the phone. Most of the time I can t tell who s lying because literally every single person in their office I ve spoken to has had a different story about what s going on with my paperwork. The last time I spoke to them one employee told me I needed to go to the DMV I registered at to see what s going on. She didn t even take the time to read the notes and see that it was her own office that is holding up the process. It s honestly disturbing to think about how widespread this incompetence is.

There's absolutely no accountability here...

The Missouri DoR is the worst government office in MO. They are extremely inefficient and can t properly train their workers. I talked to at least 6 different people and each one gave me a different list of required documents. I have spent hours and hours on the phone with the department to attempt to title my vehicle and the closest I ve gotten is very expired tags and -$300. They lie on their documents saying they will return your check if the submitted documents are rejected but will instead cash it. I would sooner move to another state than ever have to deal with this office again.

I mailed my check for my license plate renewal on April 6, 2019 Its the 23 and have not received my plates. I called to see what the hold up was and was the 45 person on hold. I waited 23 minutes and the auto voice said I was 35th in line. What the hell! Is there only ONE person working in Jefferson City. The Governor should be ashamed of the way the Dept. Of Revenue operates. You can't even go to a local branch to get plates because it takes a lifetime. Get it together MO.

My overall experience with the dor was shockingly horrifying. The automated phone is flawed, causing frustration and confusion, like come on, it's almost 2019, my tax dollars can definitely afford better services. They take their time processing your documents with no regard for time I was blatantly lied to over the phone once. My case was very simple but took just under a year to settle. Would give negative stars if possible.

The girl I talked to had an attitude from the start. She was very rude and needs to work on her interpersonal skills. It was ok for her to interrupt me every time I was talking but when we both accidentally started speaking at the same time she got mad like I was doing it on purpose.

They'll do anything to threaten you and take your hard earned cash; but if you have a problem, they'll make it incredibly difficult to reach them with their terrible automated phone system that hangs up on you 9/10, never compromise with you or try to work towards a solution, send you threatening letters, and take forever to get back to you: criminals.

I just had a fantastic experience. I left for vacation and didn t realize my license expired until I went to leave in my rental car. The rental car place suggested I call to see about a temporary extension. These ladies, Shelby and Deanna, were so helpful.

Completely my stupidity but they helped as if I was calling on family. I thought or vacation in Orlando was ruined but you saved the day.

EVERY time that I have called, I have had professional staff members addressing my questions. It s been numerous times over the years. I just got off the phone with a most pleasant woman named Theresa which prompted me to leave this review. THANK YOU!! Update: another SPLENDID experience with Tiffany H., she was articulate and friendly. UPDATE: Austin is amazing! This is not a coincidence that every time I call professional people are on hand to assist me! Thanks as always!

Submitted tax return February 2019. It is June and the return is not complete. I owe from last year and was going to get a refund this year that would be applied to it. The problem is I dont know how much will be left to pay and I will not be forced to pay at least 4 months of late fees and penaltys because of how long it is taking. I had called them and the response I got was "theres nothing we can do, you will just have to pay the fees after it gets.processed." it didnt help that she couldn't even tell me when that would be. There system is absolutely awful and I cant wait to move out of Missouri!

It's my impression that the process for license pl...

It's my impression that the process for license plate renewal could be improved beyond the requirements to submit various articles like insurance, inspections, etc. that already create more challenges to the consumer. Notably the process would be more pleasant if the online technology worked for all property owners (to locate across counties). I think the MO DOR would benefit the community and its budget by reinvesting in improvements to its online system to ensure that databases are communicating effectively with the counties to process information and to improve payment collection (i.e. secure smartphone apps), and most importantly, to implement multiple notifications to property owners with ample time to respond prior to the renewal date (45-60 days would be ideal)

Most incompetent Department of Revenue in the country. I have been trying to get my out of state title processed which by out of state I mean Kansas so right next door,since October it is now December, my tags have been expired for over a month. They received my title on 11/4 and still have not processed it and instead are working on out of state titles received on 11/12. Ridiculous! This is why I hate Missouri and wish I would have never moved here.

I live in Jackson County MO. I logged 21 phone calls to different offices of the DMV where I encountered endless long voicemails and electronic prompts but not one actual person I could speak to. I had information I needed so I could be prepared when going to the DMV.

I called the DMV office in Herman Missouri expecting the same thing and had a wonderful woman answer the phone on the second ring! She answered all of may questions and was very nice.

If I had the time to drive the 3 hours to Herman Missouri I would. I could probably do that quicker than getting service in my area.

I hope the lucky people who live close to this office appreciate what they have. Thank you so much!

Horrible experience with these people. Nobody is doing their job right, they have lost my paperworks multiple times, and very unprofessional workers. Every time you call, it would take 30-40 mins to get connect with someone and then they simply dont have any info.

Can't ever get ahold of someone pretaining to my personal taxes, yet, when I do, I get hung up on. I'm also getting pushed back in line when i am in the first slot. Last time I checked that's finincial abuse. Somebody seriously needs to look into these people and their business practices.

Business Portal: Whoever is responsible for the website obvious does not actually USE or TEST the "consumer side". Eventually you get through it. Business Registration is a joke, and there are so many 'glitches'. It is next to impossible to talk to someone. Been an accountant for 30 years, and find the website cumbersome. Unfortunately Missouri taxpayers are probably paying big bucks for the development and maintenance of this rubbish of a website!

Waiting over 4 weeks for them to process a title. Can t drive the car until they do so. When you call in to ask if it s processed the average wait time is 27-42 minutes, I ve waited that long now for many days.

When you ask where it s at in the process they offer absolutely no help and just tell you to call back later and try.

Very frustrating that I can t drive a car I paid sales, and pay property tax for titled by the people who are paid by OUR TAXES.

I filed two complaints against a a car dealer that scammed me out of my money It's been over 6 months and not a word back from them about the complaint. I filed a class action suit against the Car Dealer, Got a judgement in my favor, sent it to this department and now five weeks later they still have provide no notice of sending it to the bond company for payment. What are we paying these people for and why do we leave them in office or employeed.

They want to advertise to me to renew my plates online, I've had my emissions and property taxes completed since 1-27, here we are on 2-13 and I STILL am waiting for them to simply update their system to reflect that I paid my property taxes, thus preventing me from completing the payment section. Absolutely ridiculous.

Since when are you able to change the dollar amount of someone's return without sending them the information first, after Missouri spent 2 plus months to get it to me? Not only did I do it correctly, now I am out what Missouri owes me and I am told I have to wait till I receive a letter stating why they decided not to give me MY whole refund..this is disturbing..we pay so much taxes the least you could do is have respect for the people paying your wages in that building, because I'm sure everyone that works there received the money they were owed with no problem.

Torn Vehicle title's / Chronic issue! To whom it may concern,
All vehicle titles coming from the Jefferson City Department of Revenue (P.O. Box2048) are being torn during the mailing phase. This is a chronic issue that has been occurring for many years. The tearing appears to be happening during the enveloping and/or sorting process. I have several titles dating back to over 5 years, and they all have a chunk torn out of them. However, so does the envelope that contains the title, in the same exacting position of the title placement within the envelope.
Please see the attached photo's and investigate what is causing this damage.

Due to their utter incompetence, I cannot drive. I tried to renew my driver's license. They mailed me to send them address proof. I have sent them utility bills, pay stubs etc. They ask for address proof again next month. Work moves faster and more efficiently in most third world countries than Missouri DOR.

P.S. BTW it takes 90 minutes to get them by phone
