I had an amazing experience at MINI of Fairfield. Not only was the service staff knowledgeable and courteous, they really went above and beyond what I ve experienced at other places.
They arranged a drop off to my job and Check in when the car was ready. I even had the door held for me by an attentive employee.
Definitely check out MINI of Fairfield for any car maintenance needs!!! (With a special shout out to John)

One of the worse service departments I've dealt with. The advisor that I schedule my appointment with seemed annoyed to have to answer any of my questions, I scheduled an appointment for a specific day and time and my 1 1/2 hour job took 2 days "because I had a loaner" and when we picked the car up they dismissed my husband to just go "over there and someone will help you" and didn't even discuss the work that was done. Very disappointed all around. May consider the trek to Hartford or White Plains next time I need service even though it will be an hour away.

Horrible experience, showed up to purchase a car and found the pictures online masked a ton of small dings, dents, etc. Ended up walking out after they tried to pull the sleezy used car salesman tactics once I was there offering to compensate in other ways. I don't suggest you deal with them for used vehicles.

We had an excellent experience leasing our new Mini Cooper four door hardtop.
Our motoring advisor Carol Moore was outstanding. She's very knowledgeable about the vehicles, gave us her time and attention, and good incentives.
We love our new mini.

I was happy to take advantage of the special pricing for an oil change and basic service on my Mini yesterday, including a free loaner car. I also got a chance to test drive a car I am interested in buying. And my car came back vacuumed and clean. My service advisor Scott was friendly and helpful. And everyone was social spacing and covid conscious. So why only 3 stars? When I asked the service manager how they checked the accuracy of my speedo, I heard that old lesson espoused at so many auto repair shops: that the customer is not only wrong, but stupid.

*DO NOT BUY A MINI*

*DO NOT BUY A MINI*
They'll promise that you'll love it and are lying to your face. I bought a 2011 Cooper S with close to 40,000 on it from here in early 2017. Clean carfax. Always dealer maintained. One owner.
They sold me a car with a problematic clutch and a bubbled tire, and refused to right it because they are "consumables".
Since then I've had:
That tire burst
That clutch assembly just failed and the car had to be towed
To replace all four coil packs twice
The sparks plugs they sold the car to me with were broken
Boost leaks
Intake leaks
Coolant leaks
Timing chain rattle
My accessory belt tensioner snapped and left me stranded in VT and I had to have the car towed back
Cracking parts of the paint even though the car has been meticulously cleaned
Brake sensor failures (the pads weren't even halfway gone)
My high pressure fuel pump fail
A reoccurring rough idle
A reoccurring limp mode with no codes
Shock mounts tear
Overhead lights randomly turn on and I have to manually turn them off
Windows won't always roll up
Sunroof won't always go down
Continuous "exterior light is out" light for months but I cannot for the life of me find where

(Just so you know, my car is babied. I value everything I own and don't want to break it due to my own neglect. I'm a hobby mechanic and my father has been a professional mechanic for close to 30 years. The car isn't beaten on, has always been maintained, and hasn't even clicked over 70,000 miles yet. Less than 10,000 miles a year since brand new and these are all the issues it's already had.)

And to top it all off, the BRAND NEW 2019 Mini Cooper S they loaned to me while they replaced my high pressure fuel pump under a recall.. Sorry, "limited warranty", had its check engine come on and went into full limp mode with the car only having 76 miles on it total.

Hitting yourself in the face with the car would be more satisfying than owning one, and watching as Mini and their employees don't care or help unless you empty your bank account isn't worth it.

All I want, is the wrong to be righted.
I'm struggling due to a fall at work, that left me with severe nerve damage to my right shoulder. I can't work now because of it and workers comp pay is awful. I can't afford to fix my car and it sits as a paperweight that I still owe $8000 on, collecting dust and time.

The car is a lemon, without a doubt in my mind. I just need help to get it back to as close to 100% as it could be, and they couldn't care less.

I'd much rather know that some other poor soul doesn't make the same mistake I did.
Buy something Japanese.
Thanks Joy and Joe!
Your friend, Jeremy Pires.

I have had work done on my car by Mini of Fairfield County. The work is always excellent, and the staff in the service center, are pleasant and professional. If they have extra cars available, they sometimes offer a loaner car while your car is being repaired, which is nice since I do not live or work very close to the dealership.

Really great experience with this dealership all around. Fabrizio was terrific from A to Z and helped connect all the needed parts for a transaction. The managers, Joe and Franklin, were also very supportive and worked with us to help make the deal come together.
Glad we own a Mini!

The service here is pretty good. They are sometimes hard to get hold of by phone, but that's a minor nit. They do a good job and even wash the car when they're done working on it.
That being said, I can safely say I would never buy another Mini after this one. The ignition controller had to be replaced at 30k and the air bag sensor died at 35k. The car is past the warranty period so Mini made no effort to make amends for the crappy and short-lived parts that came with the car. Each of these parts cost well over $1000, plus I had to get the car towed to Mini at my own expense when the ignition controller went and it was in the shop for 5 days.
I do not blame Mini of Fairfield for either of these issues.

Although I am old and grumpy they put up with me. LOL The one thing I was unhappy with was the fact that I had been pre approved for the financing and asked them NOT to get another copy of my credit report, they went and did it anyway. That caused my credit score to drop by 9 points. My salesman was very good at is job and got me good discount on the used car I ended up purchasing.

I am sure the financing department got a kick back from by going ahead with new credit report and got a 1/4 % reduction in my rate but I still would have preferred not losing 9 points off my credit score.

I had an awful experience trying to buy a used car from Joe Zapulla. Challenging to get a hold of, combative to questions, and exceptionally rude. The one positive thing about the experience is that I was convinced to take my business elsewhere and found a car that I love.

In the past every time I've had to deal with a car dealership, the process felt eerily similar to a one way trip to hell. This was the first time in my life, where I DIDN'T want to leave! Fabrizio Reda was the supervisor who helped us, and the service my family received is incredible, not only was he trying to get us the best deal, but it felt like i was talking to a friend, as opposed to other supervisors who only care about themselves.Fairfield Mini should consider themselves very privileged to have this guy working for them! Truly an experience we won't forget. Frabrizio you're awesome!

I recently purchased a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder from Mini of Fairfield County and had a great no hassle experience. I always service my Mini here. After the last visit, there was a pretty big mishap three days later which required me to have the Mini towed to a nearby auto shop for a quick fix. I called Mini and arranged to bring the car back in. They took care of the problem plus at no charge to me. Couldn't ask for more, especially after my 10+ years of patronage.

I purchased a 2017 Countryman from Joy at Mini of Fairfield. I told Joy what I wanted and I could not believe how fast she found it. It is green with a manual transmission. Joy made the entire experience such fun. It was filled with much laughter and "Joy". Oh yes, we were serious also when we had to be. I have been buying cars for the last 54 years. (Don't tell anyone, I don't feel that old) and this buying experience was the best I have ever had.

I worked with Joy who was an excellent help. She kept all my requirements in mind, and never once tried to offer something that wasn't in my budget. She explained everything, line for line, and made sure I was getting the best deal for my money. She was warm, friendly, and great overall!! The entire staff was excellent, in every way that each one helped. I feel much better knowing I purchased my very first financed car from this dealership. Outstanding customer service.

I just purchased a used 2013 mini hardtop and I am so in love with it! The whole experience at the dealership was great. Barbara Reiniger was my associate and she was excellent. This was a completely different car buying experience compared to the past 3 cars I have purchased. Barbara was clear and not pushy at all. I walked away feeling like I got my moneys worth without being thrown any sales tactics. Definitely go there and trust her with your purchase! I would send my family and friends there in a heartbeat.

This is my second Countryman, both from Mini of Fairfield. I am so happy with my experience - Antonio and Franklin were wonderfully attentive and every question was answered with patience and expertise. My car is beautiful and they made sure that everything was to my complete satisfaction. I recommend this dealership unreservedly as a place to go to be treated well, to get a fair deal, and to enjoy great service. Car buying is arduous under the best of circumstances but these people make it a pleasure.

Horrible customer service, absolutely no communica...

Horrible customer service, absolutely no communication! I took my car to MINI of Fairfield County for a regular service appointment as well as an oil change. In the meantime, while the car would be in the shop, I asked my service advisor, Peter if they could take a look at my rattling sunroof screen. They said that my factory warranty would not cover the sunroof, but I came in with the exact same problem 6 months ago and it wasn't fixed properly then, when my car was under warranty. My car was in the shop for over a week and nobody contacted me throughout the whole week to give me any updates. I had to constantly call them to know what was happening with my car. When they took my car apart, without telling me, they suddenly found a huge, expensive problem that "wasn't there" 6 months ago because my car was under warranty then and they didn't want to do the work. When I called them that day, they were ready to start ordering parts and doing work without asking me first. No one told me how much this was going to cost or how long it was going to take and the only time I got a phone call from them when Scott called to tell me that I would only have to pay 25%, expecting me to be happy about that, but he didn't tell me what that 25% was out of. For all I know, that 25% was the full price because they did not invoice me or tell me any prices beforehand. And after all of this, they had the audacity to say that they "understand my frustration", but they still charged me for "diagnosing the problem."The bottom line is, I shouldn't have been expected to pay anything because the problem should have been properly diagnosed and fixed six months ago, but they were too lazy to do it then because of the warranty. This whole situation was so unprofessional and a total scam! Peter and Scott lacked the basic customer service skills that you would expect from such an establishment. I will not be coming back to the MINI of Fairfield County. I love my MINI, it's an amazing car, but the service at this dealership does not reflect the quality of the vehicles they sell.

It was the worst dealer experience. I contacted many times about vehicle s condition and made all applications online. When I come up , they tried to sell me a total junk which I ve not been told. So much better than my last visit - I was happy with the customer care and the work done. Did take a little longer than expected. Dropped off on a Friday and picked it up on a Tuesday - thought it was a one day job since it had been pre-diagnosed and assumed the part would be on hand. I did have a nice loaner without the hassle of the previous visit and, this time, they cleaned and washed the car!

Service department used to run like a swiss watch but that is no longer the case. The people at the counter were VERY NICE (hence 2 stars) but Person that I dealt with couldn't even properly explain the notes given to him by the mechanics and wasn't able to explain to me the work that was needed on my car and why. I really hope that they fix this and have it running again as it was before or I'll have to rethink where I service my mini.

Excellent service!
John Corcoran is the most responsive, honest, and cost effective customer advocate that I have dealt with in the past 5 years and this comparison applies to other service oriented businesses, not just automobile. MINI of Fairfield is very fortunate to have him on their staff. He deserves a promotion or a raise!

I will never purchase a MINI again, and would advi...

I will never purchase a MINI again, and would advise any friend not to. This review comes after two years dealing with MINI of Fairfield from my first service on my then new Mini Countryman. So, I'd say I've exercised much tolerance before I decided to write an objective review. It all began when my MINI's breaks stopped responding effectively when on snow and riding at low speed. I was told by the dealer that it had to do with the ABS, but was not convinced, as I've driven cars with ABS all my life and never experienced a car not stopping after the expected delay when gently pushing the breaks. The break pedal pushed back violently, not the expected ABS reaction, and I could hear a scratching noise coming from the wheels. I even argued I tested our Audi to compare and that nothing of the sort happened under the same conditions. A year went by and MINI of Fairfield assured me there was nothing wrong. Then things started getting worse. The breaks became unpredictable even on dry asphalt and a new clacking noise appeared. I lost count of how many times I took this car to the dealer in order to have it fixed, only to return and hear that "there was nothing wrong with it." And, for being a woman, was treated in the most condescending and disrespectful manner by the service manager. I then made a video demonstrating the issue with the car, recording noises and all. The service manager then finally admitted there was something wrong with the break cable and had it fixed. The clacking noise was gone, but not the scratching one. The car was still refusing to stop fast enough, even at very low speeds of 10 mph. At one time, I had to drive slowly up a hill to slow the car down enough in order to stop it, and at another time, I had to gently use the hand break to stop it. I finally got to contact BMW of USA and they assured me they had one of their engineers look into my car after weeks of keeping it in the dealer, only to tell me that they found nothing. I was in disbelief that a BMW engineer was not capable enough to find the issue. I started avoiding to drive my MINI and finally brought it to an independent mechanic who took seconds to find the problem: break disks in deplorable condition, with rust and bumps all over their surfaces. This explained the noise and the inefficient breaking response. Only then did this dealer fix the problem, which was covered by warranty. I could finally drive my MINI with confidence, but what a headache it was! MINI or BMW, for that matter, didn't care if I and my family were safe! Since then, the service manager position was given to a Ms. Lauren Brooks, who, unfortunately, only last week also proved to have no regard for her customers. I went in for new tires and had a loaner reserved a week ahead. When I was to be given the loaner, to my surprise, was told there were none available and, more surprising so, that I was going to be driven to a Toyota dealer for a loaner. However, the "Toyota dealer" was miles away in another town and it was not a dealer at all but some kind of obscure car rental service with a stylized "R" for a logo in a small parking lot behind an old building in a run down commercial neighborhood. I refused to get out of the car then. In no way was I to give my ID and credit card to some unknown business I had no knowledge of and drive away in one of the old Toyotas available there. I was in shock at this treatment from MINI, at the bold decision of sending a customer to an obscure rental service far away to loan an old Toyota and, in addition, to think that there was no regard for a customer's wasted time. I returned to MINI and asked to speak with Ms. Brooks who then received me in her office, did not get up to introduce herself, told me this was "absolutely acceptable" treatment with an impertinent arrogance I had never seen in my life when dealing with any service. It's obvious that MINI does not provide a service commensurate with the product it sells. I am paying for new tires elsewhere. This review will be reposted to warn others. BBB has an F rating for this business.

I had my 2017 mini cooper countryman there today for a right front tire losing air. I found out that I need 2 new front tires due to a nail in the right front and wear on the left front. This is the second time I have had to replace the right front tire. I also learned that my tires were never rotated and the car has over 17,000 miles. The right front tire was first replaced at 8,000 miles and in june my car was there for an oil change and no one mentioned about rotating the tires. I would give 5 stars however the technician put 40 lbs of air in the front tires and never replaced the tire valve covers.

First let me say that s i love my MINI! However the service at this facility has not been so good the last few times I ve had to drop off my car for a service or repair. I never get a call as to what s wrong with my car. I never get updates as to how long it will take. Twice I ve had to pay for some sort of repair and never told what the cost was before they started the repair so I was stuck with the bill regardless. I have to call and follow up and ask questions and they never have the answer and promise to call me back, but they don t. I really don t have high expectations, I just ask for communications about the issue and be told ahead of time of the repair and cost.

I do love that u can get a loaner car, which helps for the inconvenience and I get to try out the latest and/or other model MINIs

This shop is great overall. My car ended up requiring fairly major series of work (clutch, brake pads, etc.) and I found that I had to keep calling my service manager for status updates - and even for the original diagnosis. I would think they should take a more proactive effort as the service of your car unfolds. This was most relevant with respect to coordinating the timing to pick-up my car.

The 2007 Cooper S I bought from Mini of Fairfield is a NIGHTMARE. Do not buy a used car from Fabrizio Reda or anyone else at this dealership if you want something reliable. Four years of breakdowns and repairs, and now I'm charged a $236 diagnostic fee to tell me it needs $2,200 more worth of work. I only have 76,000 miles and I've replaced a water pump, a fuel injection system, bad tire sensors, leaking axle seals... and now I need an entirely new electronic steering module. I could go on. I cannot wait to sell this car and buy something reliable.

I have leased from Mini for several years, and have always had really great experiences with the service department at Mini of Fairfield County....until this last service appointment. This appointment was cancelled on me three times before it actually took place, primarily because they did not have a loaner car available, but I didn't find that out until the day before the service appointment, even though they told me that a loaner was available when I booked each appointment. Further, I had to call THEM several times to get the appointment rescheduled, and many times there was simply no answer on the service line and I had to either call back, or leave a message. When I finally did have the service appointment (yesterday), I arrived at what must have been a busy time (although there was only one other customer in the service area), because I had to wait quite a bit longer than I usually do. I do like the two steady service guys I usually deal with (sorry, don't have names), I just think something has changed, not sure what, but they don't seem as efficient as usual. Another gentleman I didn't recognize did come out of his office at one point to ask if I was being helped and the two service reps told him they were finishing up with other customers and would be with me in a moment, but the manager did not try to step in and help. In any event, they are still better than any other service department I've had to deal with at other dealerships.

In the past I myself have worked in the Automotive business. But by far,the service at MINI of Fairfield County, in Darien CT is the FRIENDLIEST, most professional service group I have ever dealt with. From the first e-mail to make a service appointment, to my final drive off, they were polite, courteous and informative. The service was great. My JCW MINI runs like a champ and the repair cost was within reason. A personal thank you to Stephen Parrett and Steve Pagani and crew, for a job well done.

When leaving the shop, my brakes failed (my Cooper S is 11 years old), apparently a rusty break line ruptured from the salt put on our roads. Again, the service was done with no hassles, a loaner car was supplied, and the job was completed in 2 days. I intend to purchase another Mini and will definitely purchase from Mini of Darien.

Bought a 2012 Countryman at 18,000 miles from Fabrizio in Sales - very good experience, and enjoyed working with him. Unfortunately, the car has been into the dealer on a flatbed twice in two months due to the key fob getting jammed into the ignition assembly. Each time, road side assistance did their job, and Mini of Fairfield were very responsive, apologetic and provided a loaner car - the second time was 6 days because they replaced the entire ignition housing under warranty. Now, the car is at 28,000 miles, and car is starting to sound a dual-prop plane over 40 mph inside the car. Bringing it back to dealer to get that corrected. So, my rating is based on car quality - the Service Dept. here has been very good (Scott / Paul). It's a pain to deal with all these issues, however. Is this a common occurrence with Mini's regarding the increasing engine / drive train noise?
