My husband James and I have always been very happy with our Subaru vehicles. Just 2 weeks ago we picked up our 4th vehicle from Mike Shaw Subaru. We have always been treated with care and respect. We left very pleased.
I just purchased a new Outback from Austin.
He found me the perfect one that met my needs and price. He was knowledgable about the features I wanted and steered me toward the right vehicle.
I enjoyed how fast and easy the service was and how they were looking out for my best interest. They also worked on helping me return a car to carmax and take my trade in from carmax to mike Shaw! I highly recommend them! :)
So happy to have found Mike Shaw Subaru. As an almost 70 yo woman I have been conditioned to dread the "mechanic experience" but all that has changed with Mike Shaw. They are warm and friendly and explain everything. My last visit I asked if they could have the car back to me sooner than later as I had taken the day off from work and didn't want to sit around the whole day. They started working on it immediately and had it back to me in a couple of hours. The follow up after an appointment there is amazing, making sure everything went OK and I was happy. I look forward to a long relationship with Mike Shaw Subaru. So glad I found them!! Thanks guys and girls!!

Cliff's contact changed my mind however, and I appreciated his willingness to negotiate to address our needs.
He is very knowledgeable, professional and interested in his customers. This is the third car I have leased through him, and I would be very glad to recommend him, and Mike Shaw Subaru, to others.
I stopped in to look at cars Keith Traczynski was very informative, when I am ready I will call him.
We had a negative experience with this dealership and did not buy from them. We chose to see Shane as he seemed pretty down to earth from his online profile. We spent time looking at a couple of different models and when we became clear on what we wanted, we started to liaise with him afterwards, to lock in the pricing, color and model etc....our emails and voicemails were not returned. My husband managed to speak to Shane a couple of times and there was a commitment from Shane at the end of these conversations to get back to us and he never did. Overall a very passive and uninterested behavior. He seemed overwhelmed as well with his schedule. Then we called and asked to speak to a female sales rep to see if that would improve things. We spoke to Jamie who was suppose to call us back and she never did. This is poor customer service for new clients who are trying to reach to you and give you their business.
My experience with mike shaw and my sales person jamie chu were very satisfying. Jamie is a pro and knows how to move the sale along without uneeded pressure. Mike Shaw has followed through on everything they promised.
Without going into detail I'll say that the three stars I'm giving is because this place is average. They've not generally gone above and beyond to continue to earn my business. Now that the warranty is up I doubt I will be returning.
Very friendly staff. Doing a good job of wearing masks and social distancing. They had my car done 2 hours before the estimated time!

I was looking for a new car, so I stopped in Mike Shaw subaru to take a look. Eric Grimm was the sales person that took car of me. He was great. He worked with me to get me what I wanted in a car as well as did his best to work with me on price. After a few hours I walked out with a new car.
Went in for two recalls on my Forrester in addition to a service for hitting 30,000. Tim from service was wonderful to work with! They were quick and professional, and I really appreciated the car wash! Never had an easier time at a dealership.

I got hooked on the Subaru brand when I bought a 1981 Subaru (can't remember the model of it) at an auction for $600 bucks about 7 years ago, just so I could teach my ex-wife how to drive a manual transmission. The car had almost 300,000 miles on it and would have probably went for 400,000 thousand or more. I don't know, we kept it around for a couple of years, never put a cent into it for repairs, because it would just never breakdown. At one point, we punished that car, trying to make it die!!! It never did and ran the same as the day I bought it. It got great fuel mileage too! Anyway, we finally just gave it away to somebody that needed a car on craigslist. Ever since then, I've just stuck with the Subaru brand. I just wish they'd make a pick up truck already!!! Yeah, no, not the Brat. Yuck!!
Ok, so I'm here to tell you about my latest Subaru purchase at Mike Shaw Subaru. Keith Traczynski is the man! I traded my 2010 Subaru Outback for the New 2014 Subaru Forester when I found out that they were running their guaranteed trade in value campaign. (Another reason why I love the Subaru brand) Other salesmen there have approached me while I was getting my car serviced and seen me wandering around in the parking lot. But, there was something about Keith and the time I spent talking with him during the test drive that made me want to trade and pull the trigger on the deal. Not to mention that I really liked the car. With that being said, I was content on keeping the car I already had and paying it off. But, the way that Keith presented the car and made sure it was something I really wanted to do, before pulling the trigger on the deal. I really felt good about the whole experience.
The guy that got me the financing there at Mike Shaw Subaru (I wish I could remember his name) did a great job too! He really is a wonderful guy. It was the best financing experience that I've ever had. Not to mention, that after taking a closer look at the finance company that I now have my loan through, they actually have other financial products that I'm looking into.
Just so everyone knows. I'm a "Let them have it" type of guy if someone screws up and I especially don't like people that stereotype. My appearance is rarely ever professional and sometimes, you'd think I couldn't even afford a pack of gum and took a nap in a coal mine. :) lol... I have always been treated respectfully there at Mike Shaw Subaru and look forward to giving them my continued business.
Hopefully, by the time I'm ready to make a new vehicle purchase, Subaru will have come out with a TRUCK!!!! :)
This is my second trip here in less then a year. The people here are great.
Horrible service overall. I bought my car 3 months ago from mike shaw it currently has 2,900 miles and it has broke down on me 4 times now. They have checked my vehicle 3 times, keep giving it back like theres nothing wrong with the car and the issue persist. Everytime i go pick up my vehicle their so called technicians make me feal like terrible like if im the bad guy, trying to tell me how i did this to the car and making stuff up that would cause the car to stall, as if im the one causing the vehicle to break down. I tried asking for help. Even trading my 2015 wrx for another 2015 wrx at mike shaw where the car was purchased and there solution was to rip me off even more. I was pleading for help because i got a defective vehicle and they didnt care. They told me to get my payments to 509$ what im paying now they wanted 10,000 down or 3,500 down and monthly payments of 620$. i still have the paper where they qouted me these prices.They only care about money. They already got my money once and their trying to get it again twice as bad. These people have absolutely no consideration that im having issues with my car. They just want more and more money stay away from these thieves. To top things off they dented and scratched my car while it was being serviced. I just had my car towed to shortline subaru. I have my fingers crossed this is better service. I hope you read this review before going in to buy a vehicle here. Stay away even if you have to drive a little further it is so worth it. If only i wouldve known before buying a car here.
In all honesty, I didn't buy a car. BUT I did have multiple experiences with a few different people.
My outstanding experience was with King, who wasn't only knowledgeable on a multitude of cars and facts and such, but was also such a pleasant and relaxed gentleman!
He wasn't pushy about me buying a car, he wasn't showing any disdain in the fact that I didn't want (or could, lol) to buy a car when I went in. He was honestly excellent and not just in his knowledge and pride, but his customer service skills and enthusiasm towards the Subaru brand was impressive!
All in all, when it comes time to buy a Subaru, I WILL be coming back to Mike Shaw!!!
Started the process online with Jamie and finished with pick-up in the dealership. Both Jamie in Sales and Josh in Finance were amazing! I spent less than 45 minutes in the dealership before driving away in my new Crosstrek! Excellent experience, highly recommend.
My wife and I have purchased 4 autos in the last 5 years from Mike Shaw because we always have a great experience. The staff at Mike Shaw have always gone lengths to work with us and within our budget so we can get the car we want for the price we can afford.
The staff is always friendly and helpful and have never tried to use any high pressure tactics to get us to purchase something we didn't want or were not yet ready to purchase.
I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase new or used!

Spoke with David from the Parts Department. He had an immediate short attitude when I explained that I was calling from Colorado Springs. He then proceeded to grill me about my calling their Denver company. I explained due to the hail storms that I was looking for a quicker supplier. He then said he didn't want to sell to me because I wanted to buy Auto Glass. Well, Groove Subaru had NO PROBLEM selling to us. In fact, I've bought glass from Audi Denver in the last few weeks. No problem there either. YOUR LOSS. By the way, the windshield I was wanting to purchase had a list price of $953.52.

I am writing about my experience purchasing a 2014 Impreza from Mike Shaw. My experience with the actual purchase was neither great nor terrible. It wasn't until at about 2800 miles my oil light came on that I began to regret my purchase decision. I promptly checked my oil, which was low and added about a quart. When I called Mike Shaw they told me that this oil consumption was normal and that I could expect to put about a quart of oil into my BRAND NEW car every 2000-3000 miles. I told them at the time of purchase they stated I wouldn't need an oil change until 7,500 miles and that I didn't understand why I would need to add nearly 2.5 quarts of oil in between oil changes. I also asked why this wasn't mentioned at the time of purchase. The guy from the service department, I believe his name was Bret, chuckled and said, "Yeah, I tell them they should disclose this to buyers." Wow. Thanks. Now I have to drive my brand new car around with a quart of oil constantly in the back for fear that I will be low. Where is the oil going??!! Why is the engine eating oil??!! Why did no one disclose this??!! It is appalling.
So, I took my car to my trusted, Master Mechanic, who said that it didn't have a leak. He encouraged me to call the dealership he works with regularly (not Mike Shaw, Groove) and ask them. Although the answer was slightly more wishy-washy, they basically told me the same thing. My mechanic said my car looks good...which is a relief, but he, along with every other person I have told about this (including other mechanics) are all confused and concerned about why Subaru would be telling me to expect my brand new car to burn through oil every 2000-3000 miles. This cannot be good for the engine.
I should mention that my car is a basic Subaru Impreza, no turbo, nothing fancy. I feel duped. I wish I had never purchased this car and I will never purchase another Subaru again.

My husband and I made an appointment to come into Mike Shaw Subaru to look at used cars. We brought a Ford to trade in and felt the trade in price was fair. The staff was friendly and professional. We test drove a few vehicles and asked a lot of questions. Shaun and Cliff were able to answer all of them and didn't put any pressure on us. They were knowledgeable, professional and made sure we were getting the information and car that suited our needs. We drove out in a new Forestor and were completely satisfied with our purchase and experience. Marc in finance was equally professional and knowledgeable. I have heard horror stories about walking in and out of dealerships just to get a price or car that is suitable. We didn't deal with this at all. The staff were honest and actually cared that we were satisfied with the service and products. Cliff has called to follow up since and we are happy with our purchase as well as the level of care and service we received from everyone there. I would highly recommend this dealership and will return if I need another car.

The dealership is clean, I'm always greeted with a smile and offered a drink. When I recently asked for a test drive the car was waiting for me ready to go when I arrived. I recommend buying your next Subaru from Mike Shaw!
Came in to the Service center on a Thursday afternoon, where the shop seemed moderately busy. Initial Tech guy was quick to assess my situation (had my ABS, Traction Control, and Hill Assist light all go up, which is apparently a common problem).
Then the service center manager (I assume) intervened with the initial Tech guy and I. He seemed very rushed, and I got the impression that he didnt think his team was responding well to the other customers in the shop. He made me feel rushed in trying to explain the problem with my car, and immediately gave me the "its gunna cost $100 to run a diagnostic, FYI". Overall, I didn't appreciate his attitude.
Turns out, my issue was covered under a recall (brake pressure sensor?) that I was just never notified of. Jon, the rep I was working with at the service center, treated me very well and let me know that it would cost $0 for all services performed at the shop that night.
Overall, I think this is a good shop. The service manager needs to cool it. Jon was great. I hope to bring my subi to him next time I need service!

If you want to be exploited that is the place. Zero transparency in the sale process. Tricked by all the involved in the purchase of the car from sales (Tevon), sales manager (Matt) and finance manager (Frank and Josh). DO NOT waste your time visiting this place. That are dozens of others working with more transparency then these ones. I returned today (May 12th) there to cancel the contract 4 days after the purchase still being treated as a pig in the slaughter house.

I'm sure these are good people but they need better training instead of giving people the run around. Time is more valuable than money and you wasted my time. Being a 10 year veteran in the car business I find it to be pretty sketchy to call your customer and say "We got you approved it doesn't look like the other dealerships submitted it though" ,(which they did and they both had approvals), then they proceed to tell me we are at the payments and same down payment I was approved at the other dealership, (which is in Springs, the only reason I tried doing business with Mike Shaw was to keep it local). I load my child and my spouse into the vehicle after a long day of work for both of us, get to the dealership, he removed my trade plates and completed all the paperwork; now the sales manager comes out and shows me the dealer screen showing a decline to the bank they use for leases (except same bank approved us)....So completely lied to the entire time! That is fine if you don't want to give me the trade value needed to make the deal but maybe you should train your sales staff on the proper word tracks to keep heat out of your dealership. I now know why it is so frustrating for customers to go to dealerships and buy cars. As a 10 year veteran in Auto sales I am completely dissatisfied with the interaction we had. I would never have said any of those things to my customers EVER. You have book values and know what clean trade in on a vehicle will be, so if you were unable to give me the right trade value even at CLEAN book value don't invite a car business employee into the dealership and change your story. I'm sure you have plenty of happy customers, but I want you to know publicly that I will never refer anyone to your dealership and I will let everyone know my experience as a consumer is BEWARE. I spoke with multiple Subaru dealerships and your dealership was by far the most deceptive. We will be taking our Subaru business to HEUBERGER SUBARU in Colorado Springs Co. If you are shopping Subaru dealerships they are the best in Colorado and will give you by far the BEST DEAL! HAVE A GOOD DAY!!!!

I'm usually impressed by their service. All of the guys that end up helping us are laid back and not too pushy. We've purchased several vehicles from them for that reason.
Always prompt, helpful and honest! Everyone (Dustin, Kathy, Chris and everyone else) has always been fantastic.
Let down by Mike Shaw's service department too many times, for multiple issues. A nice greeting or friendly smile doesn't help my car drive any better if the underlying problem is not diagnosed or fixed correctly. Phone calls to their managers and supervisors were a waste of time (I won t name specific individuals). I have since found another Subaru dealership that I have more confidence in.
I was very impressed with the sales reps and the dealership throughout the entire process. Everyone was incredibly responsive, friendly, professional, and reliable. I was able to get the exact car I wanted at a fair price, and have received multiple follow ups from the reps to make sure everything is running smoothly with my new car. I absolutely love my new Subaru, and would highly recommend this dealership! It is clear they care about their customers, and I had a very positive experience overall.

I felt like at ease the entire time I was going through the sales process. He went the extra mile to make sure my experience was great and that the car was exactly the way I wanted it. Aug-2020 -- I had $3,000 worth of engine work done on my 2012 Impreza only to have the engine fail catastrophically 200 miles later. I sat for 5 days while repairs were re-done at a more reputable dealer for something that should have been covered by a recall in the first place. Mike Shaw will mis-represent what your car needs and if they do the work, it will be shoddy and they will not take responsibility for their work.
Came in for routine service and Kathy helped me out. Her and Jay in service definetely had a nice comradery. She said they needed to in order to make the long days go by quicker. Felt short for me as my service was done sooner than what I was quoted. Def had a blast hanging out and hearing their antics.
Called here this morning at 7:15 am about a rattle sound my care was making - the lady who answered was helpful and professional. She helped me to set up an appointment for 2:15 pm and, after putting me on hold for a few moments, assured me that they would have a loner care available to me. So today instead of sleeping for my shift tonight I spent an hour driving to-and-from Mike Shaw Subaru only to be told that 1) They did not have a loner car for me anymore and 2) Would not get around to my car until at least 5 pm if at all today. This was after the guy said "I assume you are here for that rattling sound?" I explained to the guy that the next few days my wife and I needed the vehicle to pass back and forth as she worked day shifts and I worked nights. He offered me no options other than to wait there until 5 to see if they were able to see my car (I have to be to work at 7) or to drive the vehicle back tomorrow. I asked if the car, based on what he was hearing, was safe to drive and he said "I don't like to diagnose from in here [the check-in counter]." I reiterated the question, knowing my wife would be taking it to and from work and he said he wouldn't even offer me a best guess. Bottom line - a phone call giving me a heads up would have been great, giving me the opportunity to find somewhere else and saving me the drive/sleep deprivation I will now have for my shift tonight. I am assuming he would have not have let me leave, or would have been more concerned at least, if the car wasn't safe to drive but after the poor level of professionalism I experienced, who knows?
My husband and I were out to buy a car and really didn't know where to go and we saw Mike Shaw Subaru and pulled in and we sure are glad we did. We didn't need to go anywhere else and are happy that we did stop. We had a GREAT salesmen Keith Traczynsici was so good we were treated like we were someone special and with such kindness. Our experience at the dealer ship was awesome. The way Keith treated us with so much respect we will spread the word. Thank you so much Keith for being such a wonderful person to Phillip and I.

Performed work on my car without giving me an estimate or getting my advance approval for the dollar amount to be charged.
Service advisor specifically knew that I believed the oil change to be covered under an extended service plan. Service advisor looked into it and upon determining to his satisfaction that the oil change was not covered under the extended service plan, they work was performed anyway without any notice to me. While the dollar amount was relatively small, it is the principle that matters. I won t bring my vehicle back here for service, and certainly won t be purchasing a new vehicle here in 2019 as I had previously planned to.
I may be just one, obviously unimportant, customer, but I ll be sure to share my experience with anyone looking to purchase a Subaru.
Purchased a new Forester a couple weeks ago and this was the BEST car buying experience I've ever had. Cliff Swaim and the rest of the team were knowledgeable, easy to work with and they even matched the price of another dealer. We spent less than a couple hours at the dealer completing paperwork and were out the door without any high pressure sales, upcharges, or surprises! Charged $515 for a valve that the car DID NOT even NEED. Customer service is great when trying to buy a car....don't get me wrong, but for some reason something ALWAYS needs to be replaced on the car and is completely overpriced. Not to mention once one problem is "fixed" another arises and yet again another charge to bring it back in. Also the technicians aren't the best....they forget to finish the job after hundred of dollars spent. But they have great Oil CHange coupon & are fast on that end

Took my car in for recall service. Replacement parts were delayed, so I was given "a loaner" car for the time my car was disassembled and waiting for parts delivery. Have to give a huge THANK YOU to Hoa Phan for his friendly and fabulous service during this time. He phoned us with regular updates on the status of our repair! Johnathan Litchfield has been excellent with us. He has gone the extra mile by even driving to our house in Longmont to help fill out the rest of our paperwork and deliver the new Forester we bought. He is very detail oriented at making sure that we get the service we have always wanted in purchasing a new vehicle. Johnathan made sure that we stayed in our budget and that we didn't pay for anything that we didn't need. We highly recommend him.

Let s just say that Keith T. helped make our car buying experience most pleasurable and one that we will never forget. Normally we feel like car salesmen envision customers as dollar signs. With Keith he felt more like Family that actually wanted the best for us. He helped us through every step of the way and was very knowledgeable about everything on the vehicle. After signing the sales contract, Keith even helped us set up our phones and walked us through every gadget inside of the car.

Spent an entire day shopping for a used car, unsuccessfully. Mike Shaw was next to last on the list. They didn't have the car they advertised but the salesman pointed us to a couple of other options. One of the options, a VW Beetle, test drove well and was within our budget. It was nicer than most cars in our price range. The salesman told us that the vehicle had been inspected by their mechanics and had no major issues. We noticed some minor cosmetic issues. The car was priced as if it were in excellent condition when more realistically it was in good condition. We negotiated the price down to something more reasonable, although it still was about $200 over where it should have been. I was frustrated that the management was unwilling to fix the minor issues, one would have involved changing a $2 fuse, but decided to move forward to avoid another day of searching. I should have endured another day of searching.
Within 48 hours of purchasing the vehicle, in which it was driven no more than 30 miles (most of that was the trip home) issues started to appear. The battery died, almost $200 to replace. We replaced it only to find the alternator needed replacing. We replaced the alternator but the transmission is also having issues. I called the dealer to ask them to fix the issues, almost certainly pre-existing. They refused saying the car was purchased 'as-is' and that their mechanics had not identified any of these problems. I asked for their mechanic's report on the car. They refused to send a copy to me. They would let me see it but only if I drove to the dealership.
I certainly made some mistakes in purchasing this auto, I should have had someone else check it out. Despite this there is the expectation that one purchases a car, even used, that it will perform some activities that a car would normally perform, like drive. This vehicle has been driven less 45 miles, the majority of those miles are driving from the dealership and to and from a mechanic. We have put almost $800 into repairs on the vehicle and expect that to increase substantially when the transmission is fixed. While the salesman from Mike Shaw has been talking to the management there in an effort to obtain some form of resolution to the situation the management has not budged (the salesman was actually a nice guy,, especially when compared to the other places we went). We have no known legal recourse.
As a result, I can only let the public know my experience with this business. Here are my opinions on dealing with this dealership. DON'T purchase a car here unless you get a full warranty thrown in without extra cost (get a lawyer to look at that warranty...just in case). They don't seem to care about obtaining repeat business so you can't count on their desire to protect their reputation as a means of ensuring their honesty. They seem to be in it for maximizing their profit per customer on a one transaction basis. So just assume they are Machiavelli and you may want a car that Machiavelli traded in to buy a new car...Assume that they are pricing any used car as if they lost their virginity in the car and they assume you need the car to get laid...and if they sell it they could never get laid again...Just my opinions.

I just made my second car purchase today at Mike Shaw Subaru. I stopped in for an oil change on my Forester and spoke with my salesman Kieth Traczynski about test driving a 2018 Outback just for grins. I had mentioned our Forester was feeling a little small for our family but I didn't think we could get into a new car right now, (especially an outback) and afford the payments. Well, he made that happen for us. We got everything we wanted far sooner than we expected and kept our payments completely manageable! Keith went out of his way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. And at the end of our sale he said an amazingly sweet prayer for our family and surprised my 3 year old with a hot wheels Outback she had been eyballing on the wall of his office. That made her feel so special...and us too. We are definitely a Subaru family and a Mike Shaw family too!
