This is the jewel of Africa. Maybe the best hotel in Africa. Next to Mandela square and directly linked to the largest mall in Africa (Sandton City Mall), it's perfect for high level business trips.

They have a very nice restaurant, and their breakfast is exceptionally nice and clean, with many choices for everyone.

The rooms are really unique and feel a bit romantic. The hotel has a historic theme, and you'll feel like you're in old Rome.

I'd suggest that you try it. I'm sure you'll enjoy the unique experience.

Excellent over new years when the rooms are often cheaper

One of the leading hotels of the world. Nice atmosphere. Good location. The very large shopping center is right next door. Around the Nelson Mandela Square are many good restaurants. Security is everywhere.

The staff is service-oriented and friendly. The housekeeping exaggerates, however, and always cleared away all our clothes. Unfortunately, the building services did not manage to repair the bad drainage of the washbasin.

The rooms need an update. You can see the age.

We criticize at a high level. But 5 * also raise expectations that were not fully met. Still recommended.

Michel Angelo Hotel, Sandton. One of the most fascinating Hotels in Sandton, Johannesburg. Outstanding service in a spotless and safe place. Large and comfortable rooms. Mine was just facing the Nelson Mandela Statue on the square. A magnificent view! Direct connection to the Mall and restaurants. The location is perfect for travellers. Everything is at the palm of your hand. Sandton Gautrain Station is less than 5 minutes.

Staff was amazingly helpful and exceedingly polite and accommodating. Rooms were very well gorgeous and the breakfast buffet and optional menu were among the best in my three week your of South Africa.

We had the best treatment ever at the Spa!! The staff were so professional and went all out we were pampered and very well taken care of. The head therapist also surprised us with a very delicious birthday cake as it was my husbands birthday! Thank you guys Nolo, Lizwe and Derby

This hotel is one of the best hotels in the world to me. I was allowed to check in early, a birthday treat was given to me at the restaurant and I got some gifts in the room also. All the staff, from the cleaners to the managers were awesome, friendly and very helpful. The facilities were amazing. I'll recommend this hotel over and over again.

An entire experience all in one, entertainment, cusine, architecture and ambience.

On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome.
The hotel is wonderful. Decor lovely. Bar area is very posh looking with a pool full of fish. Staff friendly.

Spacious rooms, great service, great breakfast and great staff.

The high tea is perhaps the most opulent buffet I've seen in some time. The service is absolutely first rate. The desserts, tea, and food were amazing.

This was my first time in South Africa so I appreciated the central location of this hotel. We were close to one of their biggest malls and had a lot of restaurant options. The service was alright and the rooms were lavish, clean and comfortable.

Friendly staff and a beautiful hotel , very luxurious and plush in a beautiful setting , across the Sandton convention center and next to the Nelson Mandela square also close to Sandton city Mall . Hats off to this hotel

Great hotel and the mall within is great all you need is there for you.

The hotel has a distinctive location and at the most important landmark in the city the stay was one day, and I never noticed any negative note. The hotel is somewhat old, but the truth is that it is clean. The breakfast is varied.
If you want to see an Uber, what they leave comes from the reception and they offer, you take a taxi through them, but there is a gate that looks out from the market on the street, less than three minutes, and you are on the road and the staff will guide you.

Quick check in, Eric porter helpful, Mr Knowledge at front desk upgraded our room, we were early, and room was not ready, so far so good, just landed at the Michelangelo

Got upgraded to a huge suite from a standard double and had a good single night stay. The breakfast buffet is great and opens slightly before 6:30, and connected access to the malls nearby give you a lot of food and shopping options.

Food real good service exelent prices a little steep for local people but generally a nice experience

Pathetic people at reception refusing to let up a guests visitor telling me sum girl was there and stole everything of sum guy who booked in. So meaning they think im do prostitution & sell my body. They r rude & il neva refer them to any1 my friend pay almost R5000 for the reception guys to tel her who can visit her & who cant pathetic im disgusted by the way farny is the guys name who was the worst front of house server iv eva delt with in my many years of lodging. Please dont waste yr money, time or energy on this place please rather go to the Saxon or Da Vinci my oppion yr choice!

That 1 is a hotel, it is wonderfully connected with mandela square.That was marvellous.The rooms are spacious.The buildings are fabulous and the glass lifts are just a miracle

Food is the best in Joburg. As the most famous hotel there, the disappointment comes from the room which is a bit old. But given the price, I think it s still a nice stay. If you pay over 3k rand, may choose newer ones.

The hotel was in a great location plus the room that I stayed in was quite spacious and was kept very clean. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. Check in was very quick as well and even though I was a bit early, they were able to get me in my room, no problem at all. Really good service. I will definitely go back there if I m in the area. Highly recommended!

Great place, great service! Booked a flat for the evening with my wife and kid. Actually a great place to come stay over for a weekend with a whole family if you want to see area.

A very huge and beautiful hotel. The staff is more than friendly here. Whatever you need will be done for you. The views are amazing. You can look over sandton from the upper floors. The breakfast ist delicious. You can choose from the menu or enjoy a buffet style breakfast. There's also a smoking room which looks really nice . And at night at the bar there's live music played on the piano. And if you like shopping here's the place to be as it is connected to the mall.

Not what l expected. The rooms are very ordinary for me, the nice thing I recognized is the bathroom.

Excellent, the hotel staff makes you feel home away from home. I will choose the same hotel when in Joburg next time
