Perfect place for conferences bt not an ideal holiday with family

Great food, awesome castle vibe. Trustworthy staff. I misplaced my cell and only noticed hours after being home. Called my phone and someone at Velmore had picked it up and taken it to reception. Thank you!!

The Venue is beautiful but lacks ambience and comfort. Food was very average

What a treat today. We were spoiled with 6 x 1 hour professional treatments by brilliant therapists and top class products, a quality breakfast and lunch, bottomless alcoholic and soft drinks, cheese and fruit platters, all in a world class spa at a price it felt like a give away.

Even received a gift at the end. I would not recommend any other Spa spoil in South Africa. Or any other treat to be honest.

Everyone can afford this and must do this. Full day is the way to go. Even if it is not quite your thing, believe me, it is.

Get a voucher for someone you love or who you really wish to spoil. A world class experience you will not regret. Thanks thanks thanks Bakwena Spa. We were here before, we were thrilled as always, and will be back soon!!!

Hotel staff and maintenance issues raised by previous guests have certainly been corrected. Now a world class hotel. Would choose nothing else in Gauteng for a honeymoon, wedding or conference. It is a steal. Come take a look.

Amazing setting in the open spaces of farm land. Very unique setting

It was noisy, the walls are porous to sound, the whole night was a nightmare with noise. The shower had only one temperature (cool) , poor water pressure. The towels were old and tattered. Our room had a visible crack on the wall. Restaurant not operating, had to eat in the bar, only 3 items on offer. No access to the pool due to a wedding that carried on beyond the time we were given. This place is dark and unwelcoming with neglected grounds. Felt like a cheap roadside lodge. Because of the location, it is difficult to get to any restaurants.

Great accommodating at excellent prices. Good value for money. Just have to check the room is in good condition

Lovely looking from the outside, some of the rooms need attention; no towel rails, only pieces of metal where they were connected, shower head adjustment knob broken...
Staff and food however were both exceptional.

Beautiful room, but poor service at restaurant with limited menu options. Unclear signs/directions to reception/rooms.

Very small TV in room with limited channels. Not enough milk/coffee/towels.

the hotel furnishes are good exactly as on the pictures, the food was just okay.I didnt like that the cleaners are there most of the day and making loud noises on the corridors, that is not good for guests who wanted to have some peace of mind and quiteness

Too much of noise late into the night. Water to the showers need balancing gets hot n cold .air cons in the rooms need attention

Stay was nice albeit a little excluded from the main hotel,spa treatment was not all that enjoyable

Truly beautiful hotel set in a private area. Beautiful views, great pool, has a bath and shower in rooms. Amazing, spacious rooms with tea making facilities. Quiet environment. Friendly and helpful staff. Truly enjoyed my stay. Great food and cute bar in the hotel. Issues noted were the power outages but there is a generator at the hotel, and the air-con in our room had no remote so it was a bit of a nightmare having to switch it on/off from where it is mounted. But I would recommend this place to EVERYONE. I enjoyed my stay here. It is a great getaway venue. Very hot area.

The service at this establishment is shocking! Their staff are seriously untrained and unfriendly! Not to mention they are desperately understaffed. Their housekeeping department has a major lack of hygiene. We found our sheets and towels stained on multiple occasions. A family member staying with us witnessed housekeeping staff changing towels between rooms without even washing them. This hotel needs to be reviewed by the health and safety council. Not near a 4* rating. STAY FAR AWAY!

We had been promised a baby cot for our newborn but upon arrival were told that they only have 1 cot which is broken. They gave us a torn foam mattress instead. The receptionist (Thabo) told me I m lying when I requested new towels be delivered to my room as I didn t get one on a specific day. His superior apologised after making me wait 2.5 hours for a towel but he was to arrogant to even apologise. For an establishment in the service industry Velmore has got it 100% wrong. This hotel is a really bad choice. I will never be back even if you paid me!

I can only rate what I saw from the outside, and I was impressed.

What a disappointment. New to the area I was looking for a place for Sunday breakfast. The pics on the Google search lead me here.

Security at the entrance to the venue directed us the the wrong building. When entering the hotel reception we were directed to the restaurant, no staff were in the restaurant to accept and seat us.

We wandered around for a few minutes, and had a look at the buffet on offer, certainly not a 4-star offering and we left.

Disappointing to say the least as the venue is beautiful.

It is a beautiful place. The only reason i would not go back is because of the poor service my partner and i got, particularly from the staff on the late shift. We arrived there on Friday night. We were shown the dining hall. We sat and waited for the menu and to order drinks. We had to call the waiter, who then told us it was a buffet. It was a rather long wait and we were the only ones at that time.
We had a problem with the TV on Saturday. Had to call the reception twice before a person was sent. The lad you came.was unfriendly and unhelpful. He promised to be back and he didn't. A covered parking would be great.
The ladies who were servinf breakfast however were friendly and helpful.

The best and value for money hotel around Pta. The service is superb and accommodation is so awesome. You can even go for spa just in 3 minutes walk. Why wait? Book a stay or weekend and relax!!!!

The hotel room was very spacious nd super clean.... But chairs are peeling off... Also, not happy with their breakfast!, again, we had to wait at the reception twice because the receptionist was nowhere to be found

Great service. Staff are friendly and genuinely nice. Food was outstanding.

Would be easier if the Spa and the hotel operated as one, too much admin booking from two different places. Or they could just facilitate it. But other than that, it is amazing. Perfect for a quick getaway from the city.

This is the second time I've visited both the hotel and the spa and both times was very pleasant. The only two suggestions I have is to make better preperations for breakfast with high volumes of people at the hotel and to add some covered car parking.
