Show times are too spread out. I would suggest going online and checking schedule before planning your trip.
I kissed a dolphin and I liked it
The experience was awesome! They kept the groups small and you got to interact with multiple dolphins. The experience was both educational and super fun. We got to pet the dolphins, get pictures with them, and ride them. The staff very obviously has a great relationship with the dolphins and puts their needs first. 10/10 would recommend. The only thing I didn't like was that the photos were extra rather than included.
In my experience, the Miami Seaquarium is better than SeaWorld in terms of attractions and services.
My daughter and I did a quick 3 day trip to SouthBeach from Wyoming before she had to go back to school. We saw the Seaquarium advertising and decided to go because we have been to Sea World a few times and loved the experience.
The Seaquarium is quite smaller than Sea World but we both loved it so much. It felt more personable. We had plenty of time for the shows and feeding the sea animals, including the stingrays and sea lions. We spent easily over an hour petting the stingrays.
It was nice not being overwhelmed with having to hurry through the park to see everything, which is what we do at DW, Universal Studios and Sea Word .
We left the park feeling really happy with our dolphin picture experience.
We are now planning another trip back in March.
Thank you for trying to educate people on the importance of reuse and recycle.
Looking forward to next trip.
Vickie
40+ years of service and your still abusing her. If you love her, let her go. Let her go back to the family she was taken away from. Please!
We had a great day. The kids loved Lolita and all of the exhibits.
A lot of shows and a lot of fun but the lines were long and the food was priced highly
The smell was bad, like spoiled waters, old place it should be updated, no a good example for kids to have wild animals in captivity to entertain humans .
The Aquarium wasn't what I expected it to be. The price is over priced for this aquarium because it's not that big and for a price that there asking for there should have been more. I guess I expected more out of it. The place is small and didn't have much exhibits. The shows were great but rather have spent the money on the airboat to see alligators. It's cheaper and heard it's more worth the money.
THIS IS A DUMP!
PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, EVERYTHING IS BROKEN & THEY CANCEL SHOWS AT THEIR PLEASURE. CUSTOMER SERVICE ITS NON EXISTANT, FOOD IS EXPENSIVE & GROSS. IT'S DIRTY & NEEDS TO BE REFURBISHED. I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY.
OH, ENTRANCE TICKETS ARE 58.00!!!
IF YOU BUY DRINKS THEY HAVE NO STRAWS BECAUSE OF THE ANIMALS BUT THEY SELL YOU THE TWIRLY STRAWS AT 3.00 A PIECE!!
PEOPLE THIS IS A LEGALIZE MUGGING. I WAS SO IRRITATED THAT I GOT FOOLED BY THEIR BILLBOARD ADS & TV ADS.
FALSE ADVERTISING!
We could cover all shows and attractions in 6 hours. The dolphin, sea lion and killer whale shows were very good. Pizza is priced ridiculously high; 26$. Felt bad for the animals as they were kept in confined spaces. I am sure there are much better aquariums. A good place to visit!
Well one thing is they should add a pool or a couple slides other than the every thing else is outstanding but.they should clean the big tanks and littler to more often. I love is that it's so much fun. For every one else enjoy its a good place to have fun but also learn about the best see animal's!!!!!!!!!
I love it !!! I love to spend time with my family. And I love the annual passes when ever u want as many times u want. Especially when there's just gas and no money comes in handy.
It was nice! The only thing is that's very expensive! To get in! Food as well!
The only reason it is getting 2 stars was because of the dolphin show. I didn't
care for the staff telling the crowd that
thier "star" was the original flipper who has been appearing for the last 56 years.
Not true.
The admission to the park was expensive and overpriced considering that many of the food kiosks were closed.
The timing of the shows were either too close to each other or too far apart.
Prepare to bring your own food and drinks because the food is very expensive.
As a whole the entire park should be closed down for a much needed complete rebuild.
Being in the hot weather you should not have to stand to watch a show.
A much better value of your time and money would be at several other popular attractions
It's nice, clean, and friendly. However I feel like there could be more things to do. My family and I got through everything pretty quick. Add some more things to do!
Incredible experience for the whole family. Many different species of aquatic life to sea. The park was extremely clean & well maintained. Staff we're very helpful & dressed very professional. Restroom areas we're very clean & maintained. Wildlife is incredibly active throughout the park. Upon strolling through expect to see plenty of birds, lizards, & iguanas as funny as it sounds strolling freely through the park. The park offers plenty of incredible photo opportunities. This particular aquarium boasted 3+ food & beverage locations all with very fair food portions & pricing. Nothing truly negative to say here. Just a very fun outting for the whole family. The only frustration I truly experienced was being bombarded by P.e.t.a members at the exit. I do not see there reason for being there as all animals we're very well taken care of & seemed happy as ever.
Great experience for the kids and family, you do have to pay for parking. Food is pricey so bring your own. PLZ BRING EXTRA CLOTHES FOR YOUR KIDS. ONE WAY OR ANOTHER THEY WILL GET WET. Especially at the playground and the shows. I took my 3 year old there I didn't need a stroller at all
it was just okay....had a better time a haulover park
Not worth the money! Not modernized and run down! Do not waste your time. Your better off building a sand castle on the beach. The way they keep these animals is not right. The orca show is nothing but her splashing you with water, again not worth the money. Please do not support this inhuman place. They need to modernize their business! our society does not like captive Doliphines or orcas. They need to be more like seaworld but even their orcas are in a better tank. Do your research.
I love this place. I've been going since i was a kid.
Except killer whale show rest all shows are good and better than SeaWorld. Good place to spend time with family and kids. Parking will be $10 not included with the tickets.
Great location! Tons to do and see. Mostly outdoors so it can get hot but there's plenty of misters and indoor opportunities. Loved the sealion and dolphin shows. My 4 and 2 yo loved it. Ample parking. Went on a weekday and it was practically empty! Super nice!
Great place! Tons of things to do to keep the kids busy!
Wished I had looked at reviews before going. This place is 20 years behind the times. Horrible staff... Exhibits closed, dirty. Animals looked pathetic. Total waste of money.
had a great time in the dolphin encounter and couldn t have been possible without Carmen and Grecia and their whole team!! great time for family especially for the kids and highly recommend the excursions such as the dolphin encounter!!
Nice variety of exhibits. Good day trip high food prices.
Old-school fun! Great 3-4 hour excursion with amazing animals. Park is old and in need of updates, but most things work just well enough to generate smiles and memories.
I had a great stay here for my birthday weekend. It was my first time here and this was a wonderful home base for the weekend. Thanks.
Good for tourists and little kids, it's too little and dingy compared to other facilities in Florida.
Sorry but most of you americans are way too stupid. It's already 2016 and you're still capturing whales for your own entertainment? Seriously? You should rather spend the money for more education than for cruelty
We had a great time and enjoyed the dolphin shows. And we got a discount to get in.
Went with my family if 4 and we had a Good time overall however ...there was 1 show that had no seats ..which means everyone had to stand apart from that it was a good experience ... I highly suggests searching groupon for entrance passes if that's all u need to enter the park
Great family entertainment. Beautiful to see animals from the sea. Every child should come see and all adults with the heart of a child. The faces of the kids amazed by the interactions seems magical. Bring sunscreen, waterproof camera and children bathing suits and change of clothes. The kiddies will want to get wet in the playground wet zone and splash zones.
Love this place. Even my toddler twins (2 years old) had a blast. It was a bit hot of course so I suggest getting a spray bottle with a fan. Other than that it was really fun.
First time there. Website looked great. Took the wife and 3 kids for a family outing and it left a lot to be desired. Animals are beautiful. Some of the interactive displays are nice. The shows are mostly worth it and entertaining. But the facilities are seriously aged. If you have a stroller be ready for a less than friendly environment. And if you eat there expect to overpay for food acceptable at an old hospital cafeteria with service to match.
Had a wonderful time watching all the shows and looking through the exhibits! We will definitely have to try one of the experiences available next time It is wonderful they support marine life rescues and teach kids to take care of our oceans!
Shame on the government for not protecting these wild animals and shame on us for allowing them to be treated so horribly. Aquariums like these capture and mistreat wild creatures, and we allow them to do so by giving our money to them. I know that we don't want to teach our children that it is acceptable to remove animals from their natural habitats and cage them cruelly in zoos and aquariums. We must teach children to respect and care for wildlife. Instead of paying money to watch intelligent creatures perform mindless tricks, I would suggest that people seek out one of the many whale watching companies, where marine mammals can be observed happily in their own habitat.
In addition, the Miami Seaquarium's main attraction Lolita, was forcefully removed from her pod (12 of her family members were killed during her capture), her tank is far too small (though the government does nothing to rectify this), and she has been performing asinine tricks for many years. This whale should be given the opportunity to live the rest of her life free.
The shows are boring, the park is small, everything is outside in the hot sun, and the animal enclosures are super small.
Nice place to visit specially with kids if you re in Miami. Check the schedule before you go there so that you don t miss any shows. See lions show is must to see. Poor whale, it s a tiny place for him. Was expecting to see a great show of whale, not really . Overall the experience was ok
Super sad, i had to leave early bc you can feel the pain of the sentient beings there...... They have this Orca who is going blind in one eye due to UV overexposure, she has been there for 40+years and hasnt seen another orca in 20+ years, and her tank is tiny..... Truly appalling, truly evil..... Please do not suppory thos establishment
I can't judge the thing fully cause I was only able to see two shows, but from my experience it was fun. The dolphins were doing tricks and kicking balls into the audience, which was impressive. It is a very big place and you could get lost trying to find something.
This aquarium houses orca Lolita who was kidnapped over 44 years ago. The concrete pool she is forced to live in is disgustingly small. Do not support this abuse.
Amazing experience, great shows. Animals are taken cared of, excellent shape and health. In the whale show sit upstairs if you dont want to get wet.
Great very enjoyable little expansive...... also asking for parking 10$
Very very nice! I had a blast with my family and got to be some pretty cool animals. My best advice is to have your check up though, cause it's pretty expensive, but it was overall the best.
Its just ok. Slightly boring in my opinion but younger kids might like it.
not a fun place, more like a jail cell for animals who are forcefully there to entertain small minded people off tricks they shouldn't be doing. All for money. Terrible.
This place was better when I was a kid. The facilities have not been well maintained. Still very fun and educational for the kids. A one day tickets gets an all year pass.
Lots of stuff was closed due to the hurricane and what was open seemed run down. Definitely overpriced unless you can get a discount (military, state resident, etc.)
Really amazing place for kids. They will surely enjoy this place.
The killer whale show is awesome... The parking fee is a big let down even if you have a annual pass..gift shop is a great place to collect souvenirs...
Great place to visit with outstanding exhibits and employee's
A very depressing place for animals and humans alike. Read up on the history of Lolita the orca and this facility in general before deciding if it's for you.
I am so sorry we did not.
Great experience. Will suggest you to go in winter. (Summer gets too hot)
This place is awesome to visit on a Tuesday! Make sure you bring sun screen though or you will definitely get a sun burn!
We went to the flipper show . We all sat there for 20 minutes and the lady just talked the whole time. If it was solely an educational show they should have announced that because it was not good for children. There was nothing to see . Only listen to the 1 trainer who did not stop talking for 20 mins.
Really don't get it? The place is still stuck in the stone ages like when it first opened. I have a grown daughter and started again with a 5 year old and 2 year old. The top deck show is crowded HOT and no place to site as its a stand up and watch show. The handlers are boring and the tricks about a 3 on the 1-10 scale. Way to much time in between the various shows and the grounds, food shacks and heck the whole place needs a face lift and updating.
For such a great city what a poor example to a working tourist attraction.
Save your money and go elsewhere
Way too expensive for way too little animals and sea creatures to see...I was here for 30 mins and saw everything...very disappointing wish I can have my money back
This is a great aquarium, alot to see and have great shows. You need about 3 or 4 hours to see everything and the shows.
Very old place, not fun, no fishes, very hot, just a few people doing services so be prepared to wait in line.
Terrible treatment of killer whale if they were to end that attraction they would easily be one of the best attractions in the area but I do not recommend at this time.
I'm ashamed of this expensive place. It needs a lot of maintenance. The shows are too simple.
The price is high and it doesn t have enough activities inside. The big fish tank is very dirty.
It was a small Park at only 38 acres, but they it as much into that space as they can, the tickets were rather expensive for my taste but considering they're currently working on updating and remodeling it makes a bit of sense. If you come here denfinately plan on spending half a day, as you can see everything and the shows in a couple of hours. It is a good place to take kids since most of the shows are educational presentations. As for all the negative reviews about the animals, they all look happy and healthy, and if they really weren't being taken care of the Seaquarium wouldn't be able to tout the oldest orca in captivity.
TL;DR: A nice park that's a good place to bring kids all be it a tad expensive.
Be ready for a lot of walking in fl weather . Love this place though ever since I was a kid. I do hope that they change the holding places for the whales and dolphins to something more spacious though
Loved the Sea Lion, Killer Whale & Dolphin shows (without having to do a ton of walking & the shows were timed out so it was easy to get to the next one on time...)
Vale a visita. Lindo demais. Worth visit it. Just beautiful
It was my first time at the Miami Seaquarium. The kids enjoyed it. They need more water splash for the kids especially during hot summer months.
20 foot long Orca, 20 foot deep tank. You're monsters.
Good shows but the treatment of the animals is pitiful really sad place honestly would never go back definetly not worth the 40 to 50 $ your going to spend getting in the orca is in the a smaller pool I've seen in people's backyards dont give this place your money it needs to be put out of business. Either that or seriously upgrade EVERYTHING
This is the opinion of my daughter after her visit.
To me, the Miami seaquarium was AWESOME.
I really enjoyed it. There were many dolphins, penguins, sea lions, fish and oarks. The penguins were in a large tank and the fish in another confortable one. We watched shows of the dolphins, oarks and sea lions. The dolphins really surprised me since they did INCREDIBLE tricks. And I really loved the sea lions and the oarks. There was also a cute gift shop. Please guys, if you love animals and pass by this seaquarium, don't miss the fun and see things for yourself. If you go, hope you enjoy!
