Great place to visit. Cost about $200 for two adults and three kids, but it was a great way to kill 6 hrs before our flight back home. The food was not the best, so I recommend eating before the visit. The dolphin and killer whale shows are one of a kind.

Parking is terrible. There are only 10 or so spaces available. And 3 were taken up by facilities own vehicles. Center is great. I would recommend for older children only because there are not that many exhibits. On older child can spend more time at each exhibit reading the plaque and learning about each animal, especially since the animals are so up close. Whereas a younger child would look for 2 seconds and then move onto the next animal. If you do that you finish the whole place in about 15 min.

In comparison to other aquariums, all animals are in great health and the staff truly carea about the animals. However, the installations and buildings are old and in need of renovations. Some of the thanks were dirty and the park seemed understaffed in general.

Extremely expensive 45 dollars per person, they barely have animals a few dolphins here a couple sting rays over there a total waste of money , and the food well a pepperoni pizza will cost you 42 dollars amazing right? Or a slice 10$, u can go around the seaquarium in 30 minutes, don't go you will waste your money

Life is not a movie folks, I dont disagree with the size of the facility but to put that whale in the wild, she would die in days because she doesn't know how to hunt for food. Money or not, they are actually probably doing what is best for that whale and why she is the age that she is. Bummer I know but the wild is no place for a whale raised in captivity.

Great experience with family. Friendly staff, clean park. Would be even better without obnoxious rock music. Keep the easy listening jazz-very classy.
Nice shows, very nice presentations.
Very reasonnable.

UPDATE: The Response from this location is below: Notice how they do not mention anything about the extraordinary prices of the food or the lack of cleanliness. I really wanted to enjoy this park. It is impossible with a management staff that does not care. Their response is that a map and show times are handed to each guest. I was not given one. I had to ask for one after entering. Why not try to make things convenient for the guests and place a couple of simple signs with the show times. Is it really that hard? I understand customer service is not at the top of your list.
Original Post:
This place has not aged well. Where to start. The place is old and not well maintained. Filth and rust reign freely throughout the park. There is no excuse considering the steep prices. If you want to eat at the park expect bad food at extremely high prices. The manatees looked so bad. You have pitty just looking at them. Their tank was filthy and so small. The only reason I gave this park two stars were for the kiddie water slides and water play area. The park needs clear signs pointing to the attractions and shows. It might help if they had signs with the show times posted. Until this park undergoes major renovation, you MUST stay away.

A great place for kids. Variety of exhibits and entertainment. The shows they have are short but memorable. Perfect for a child's attention span. There are also options to take photos with animals. We did one with the sea lion and it was lots of fun.

While the people who make money off Lolita and the dolphins get to go to their comfortable home with their family after a long day, Lolita will always, for 47 years, stay in her pool. No family, no relief, no compassion for her. The people who run this place are monsters and I would never let any helpless individual around them for fear they would kidnap them too.

It was alright but I personally expected more buck for the money so I was somewhat dissatisfied. First of all parking is $10 per car which to me is ridiculous. Then as soon as we got it they took a group picture or two. We wanted to buy it but each was $40 which also is very pricey. I didn't see anyone buying it btw.
The shows are nice and certainly the best is the killer whale, Lucy if I remember correctly. She is more than 50 years old so is getting old but she was magnificent! I guess they won't ever have them in captivity so this is it.
The kids liked it in general, but it is a small Seaquarium so you go thru it all in a few hours. One of the guys who's been there years ago noted the place is not well maintained and I would agree.

The living conditions of Lolita the Orca are terrible. It is inhumane and against the law. Her tank size violates the Animal Welfare Act, a Federal law passed in 1966. Hugo, her tankmate, was kept in the manatee pool for 2 years before being put in the tank with Lolita...and he then comitted suicide by banging his head against the wall, succumbing to an intense brain anyneurism and was then dumped in the Miami-Dade landfill. No memory or plauqe hangs to remember his existence.Lolita has been all alone since he died in 1980, and frequently shares her tank with 2-6 Pacific White-Sided dolphins. She is all alone with no family or friends except those who watched her suffer. Like me.

DON'T GO TO THE SEAQUARIUM, DON'T BUY A TICKET, DON'T SUPPORT SLAVERY!! LET THE GIRL WHO IS A SLAVE TO OUR ENTERTAINMENT GO FREE AND HOME. WHERE SHE BELONGS!
(FYI, I'm a 14-year-old. I didn't get paid to do this...)
I could say so much more but I won't. To say the very least, you people are criminals and murderers...im sure you remember Hugo? Who killed himself. Don't come here, it's not worth it. Lolita' s tank is illegal, anyway!

Please. Don't come here. Go on YouTube and watch "Lolita: Slave to Entertainment" to learn more.

Not a good place at all. I feel especially bad for the poor unhappy parrots, they re surrounded by screaming children and there are very few toys for them to play with. I have a parrot myself and this is in no way a good place for an extremely intelligent animal to live. It s also very dangerous, seeing that they are in a totally open area, which means all it takes is one strong gust of wind for a poor bird to end up flying away and in a coyote s mouth (birds can still fly even with a proper clip).

The orcas, manatees, and dolphins seemed quite unhappy as well. This place really should stick to fish.

Kind of depressing, the place felt a bit empty. The flipper show was cute at first, but it was only maybe 5 minutes of performing, followed by 10 minutes of lecturing the audience about conservation and recycling. I don't feel like it was worth $50+, plus $10 parking.

Never Never go there!!

Never Never go there!!
This place is empty, falling apart. Very trash!
Barely no aninals and they have a history of abusing animals.
The ticker is very expensive and you don t get to enjoy anything!!

The Miami Seaquarium has the smallest concrete tank in the United States holding the Orca Lolita hostage for 47yrs now. When you buy a ticket you are supporting animal abuse & teaching your kids it is ok to hold wild animals captive for your stupid entertainment. FREE LOLITA!

I was very exited to see Lolita but at the end I felt really ashamed I went. Lolita was not responding energetically to her trainer. The trainer, all smiles and giggles, kept showing the fish to her, waving it in front of the orca's open mouth, without giving it to her. A few times the trainer even put the fish back in the bucket and GAVE HER NOTHING! I don t even do that to my dog! I felt really bad for the orca. The was no need to be that cruel. And this was in front of all visitors! That orca was hungry!
As far as why the orca was not that enthusiastic that day? Maybe because the Miami sun felt once again like a BLOWTORCH and the orca s tiny tank had NO SHADE WHATSOEVER! My goldfish lives in a bigger tank than hers!
No wonder why so many people want Lolita in a sea-pen in the ocean! It s the least Miami Seaquarium should do for her after keeping her for 45 years in this conditions. The whole thing it's shameful.

We went to Miami seaquarium seven years ago. It left many heart warming memories. This last trip was a few weeks ago and changed that heart warming experience to one that was very sad. The price was astronomical but at least they offer military discount to our service members. The park charges a $10 fee for parking which is understandable if it was located in south beach or downtown but it s not.
A lot of the exhibits are outdated and a few of them were closed but the signs are still up (sharks/crocodiles). They had a photo booth that wasn t located near an outlet or plugged in.
What set us over the edge was that we paid $50 to take a picture with the dolphins.
After waiting 30 min for the trainers to debrief their show we finally got to the picture. The woman taking the photos had a very capable DSLR that would have taken phenomenol pictures, if she had been trained on it.

The end result when we left the park was 1 single unfocused pixelated picture, the other blurry photos were at a steep up charge.

The woman at the checkout was very empathetic but there was no going back to retake the picture that we had already paid a $50 sitting fee for.

We will see about going back in 7 years, but I doubt they will still be in business.

Amazing service provided !!!!

My family and I came to Miami Seaquairum for Easter Event they had Yesterday 3/30/18. My kids and I went on Sharky s Sky Trail and where do I begin the staff members Miami Seaquairum had there were amazing every single one of them.

The cashier Marcos Lead was very friendly he was the was very straight to the point on what I needed to do to sign up on the course, Pricing was great only $ 7 per person was very interactive with my family getting the kids excited to go on the course.

The staff that were on harnessing Tomas, Daniel, Jose I think the other gentleman name is rasand were all very energetic asking us where we were from if we done the course before and providing comfort to my kids before they go on since they were afraid to try the course.

I am almost done I promise but keep up the great work Miami Seaquairum we were at the whale show and it was full and we had no idea where to sit with a family of 4 since it was full and I was looking around to see a staff member but then I came across Jamie M. the Supervisor I waited for him to finish speaking with a guest that was highly upset and was taking it out on the poor guy.

When he was done I approached him and told him wow you just got an earful from her what is wrong with people is that how people come here on a daily basis the gentleman replied by smiling and said every guest is different but we do our best in bad situation like that because it molds us to deal with any guest and then he asked how may I assist you with and I told him where can I find 4 seats that we can get wet he replied Absolutely let s see where we have space ... Oh perfect right In the center I have space for you please follow me I will take you to your seats. I was impressed of the high quality of service he was providing and especially towards his staff giving high fives to his staff.

And lastly the staff that were manning the egg hunt were very friendly and highly motivated.

Great Job Miami Seaquairum we will be back Easter Sunday and

This is a small park. It's easy to cross from one attraction/show to another even when they are on opposite sides of the park. Most shows feature the trainers in the water with the animals which, imho makes them more enjoyable. You can see all the shows by 1p if you get there early. Food isn't that great but no worse than most park food. Inside dining room gets packed quickly at peak times, but that's to be expected. There's plenty of shade and water features/slides throughout the park which is nice on hot South Florida days. Food and souvenirs are overpriced, but again, no more so than any other park. Our nine and ten year old niece and granddaughter had a blast as did us grown ups. Plan the trip right, and you'll have most of the afternoon for others activities (Hobie Beach and Crandon Park are near by).

Went to this aquarium today and I regret it so much. it costs around 44 dollars a ticket and the whole place is old and run down. Theres not much to do except walk in the hot sun all day and watch all these poor animals suffer. The dolphin shows are terrible because all I can think of is the size of their tank! don't even get me started on the Lolita the whale!. She's huge and she's swimming in a tank that is like a bathtub for her. It's horrible to support a park that mistreats their animals. And I'm no longer going to watch an animal splash around in captivity in exchange for money. FREE LOLITA!

Absolutely Pathetic. !!! Overpriced, Impotent shows...I have no problem with having a captive whale....Please put on a performance instead of flogging me with propaganda and fascist lectures.

It was actually pretty sad. Their tropical aquarium is anything--but tropical; it was like a wasteland with the poor fish circling around waiting to die. The penguin area was nice, but it was because it was the only area where you could cool off. The poor penguin looked like they were fed up with the whole thing.

Honestly, I feel they are over priced. The orca/dolphin show was a bit boring, only jumped and splashed a few times. The tanks are not too clean either. Very murky waters and pretty green. Unless your doing the interactions with the dolphins/seals, etc.., I would say it's definitely not worth the money. They gift shops prices are not to expensive. The photos that are taking of everyone who enters the park are way to expensive also. $20.00 for a photo that they are just going to throw away if you don't purchase it. They should give it for free.

Save some money and drive to Sea World in Orlando, the Miami Seaquarium is getting worse as years goes by, I have live in Miami since 1986 and this is one of the few places I wouldn't recommend a visitor, Miami is full of good things to see, good stuff to do and countless activities to have a great time no matter your social status, marital status, race or sexual orientation, stay the hell away from this one,,,even my granddaughter who's only 6 didn't like it.

Visit Jungle Island instead. The Seaquarium uses captured mammals in their shows and keeps them in small tanks. Its inhumane to support this venue and their outdated barbaric practices.

It has gotten much better! Shows were fun for my kids (7 y/o boy and 16 month old girl)!!! The food is excellent for a theme park. I would say the did is definitely better than Disney. It was fun. Worth every penny, specially for the annual passes. Lots of ocean breeze here! The only thing Orlando's SeaWorld has over this seaquarium are the roller-coasters. The temperatures at the Miami Seaquarium are much better than Central Florida in the Summer. Attractions for the price, food, value, weather are all significantly better than any Seaquarium in Central Florida.

Great to visit the seaquarium again. Go and support the animals during the summer while tickets are really affordable. Not much to do though, even though there was about 2 to 3 shows. It was good they taught about recycling.

The experience was amazing. The personal very friendly, and I could feel they love of the animals. I was in three shows, two of them with dolphins and the other with the killer whale Lolita, the message about the conservation of the sea habitats were present in all of them, thank you so much for the hard work well done .

They opened in 1955 and I haven't been there since 1963 I wanted to go just to have some childhood memories I was most definitely a fan of flipper as a matter of fact I had the same boat that Sandy had and when I would take it out in the Atlantic I felt like I was Sandy and all I was missing was flipper but they were plenty of dolphins in the ocean and they followed my boat made me feel like a kid but back then I was a kid

It was really hot when we went. Other than the restaurant everything is outside or open air to the outside. Make sure to bring sunblock and be ready with something to cool down if you stay long.

Parking was $5 and general admission ~$46. If you are in Miami more than just a day the multi attraction pass allows you to visit a couple parks in the area for ~$60.

The park is but old but still decent. The best part of the park is the shows. They were pretty entertaining and fun to watch.
