I made reaervation for seal swiming then they charge my card and said that was error
I had allot of fun and the shows are nice. Although it is a little over priced for such a small park, plus having to pay for parking kinda sucked. Over all though i had an amazing time and if you love sealife its pretty awesome. If you think of it as donating to sealife conservation the price isnt bad!
Great variety of animals and Florida fauna but not a great deal for most of the endangered animals species, especially for the orcas and the dolphin show..
They should be left free at some point
We buy the annual passes every other year and it's really worth if you're from south Florida. We love the sea lion and killer whale show. Though the killer whale show is not the same as it used to be before 2012, it is still the best show in south florida. My kids love to come here often.
We came here with my 2 years and 3 month old son and got a nice option, we could bought 1 year pass for the price of one time visit which is 44,95 without taxes now, and for the kids up to 3 years admission is free.
The seaquarium looks a bit old, for that money they charged for entrance they could renovate it a do a modern and up to date, but this is not happening.
The territory is huge there are a lot of exhibits and they are kind of interesting but there are not so many shade and walking with a small baby in a stroller during Miami hot weather could be a challenge.
My son got bored early after seeing some aquariums with tropical fish and the dolphins, but I think it's ok because he like more run and touch some buttons neither watch the fish in the aquarium.
I like the manatees exhibit, penguin island and adventure Bay with a sea turtles & crocodiles.
There are some food options there not just a snacks but we haven't try anything so don't know the pricing and the quality.
At the exit they try to seek you the pics in the album that they took when you entered for ridiculously high price of 40$!!! That's just crazy I guess. But if you are a local or have the annual pass the price will be 22$ with taxes.
We haven't try any show cause during the time of our visit on Saturday there was only one show "the killer whale show" but we missed it.
Will be back here again when the temperature will be lover than the first time of our visit, cause as I mentioned above it's really lack of shade and it's so unpleasant to walk under the hot sun with a kid or even by yourself.
Manatee pool could've been bigger, but overall a fantastic experience.
Customer service was awful. But the worst part of the experience was seeing the way the animals are kept. It was heartbreaking to watch the sea turtles try to find a way through the gate (that leads towards the ocean) so it can escape. I could see the bottom of the pool that housed the dolphins and the orca- there's barely any room for them to swim. It's very obvious that the the owner does not care about the animals at all.
Absolutely DO NOT recommend. Even if you think you can go there to learn or be entertained- you will leave feeling sick knowing that you paid to go there.
The animals are in tiny, filthy, outdated tanks. Watch A day in the Life of Lolita on YouTube. Poor Orca just floats. So depressing, I hate this place. They need to do away with the animals and make it a water park!
Complete abuse of the poor orca kidnapped from her pod. Inhumane. Abusive. Souless.
The seal swim was a blast. The park was not crowded at all. I hated tube small, small pool where they kept the whale, but the park was great otherwise.
Summer pass led be to come here. I thought it was going to be boring but had a blast the live performance's where stunning
A great place to visit. A bit dated but still super nice. Very cool shows and you can get up close and personal with the animals. Kid friendly!
I know very well Miami, and after getting interested about killer whales, I found Lolita and I'm disgusted! How can we exploit an animal like this ...
An animal of 6 meters in a public swimming pool !!
I have not been there and of course I'll never go, because this is not going there that Lolita could find his. #dontbuyaticket
Imagine, a person locked in a bedroom, deprived of all contact with his kind for 45 years !!!!!
and why all this, for some bastards who they want making money, always more money.
S.T.O.P
Poor facilities. Enclosures are too small. Dirty. Ethically dubious. Don't waste your time.
Our experience at the Seaquarium was fantastic! Did the dolphin swim for a few of the younger members in our group, while the oldest (grandad) loved the stingray petting station. Overall, definitely worth a day of your time. The staff were fantastic and the shows were really well done. Can't believe it's taken me this long to get over there!
Disappointed. It's July, the grandkids are down, what could be better than a day at the Sea Aquarium? ...Mmm, a day in our backyard pool. An hour and a half on the road each way $100+(w/coupon for 2 kids) with temps around 98 degrees and little cloud cover. The animals seemed happy enough, well cared for and a hoot to the last one. Interesting and entertaining displays and shows for all ages. But the people are not so we'll cared for. There are no public water fountains, with 5 or 6 restaurants shown on the map, on a Friday at 12:15p walking the circuit, we only found one open inside the gift shop that sold Icees, hotdogs and pretzels. More than one of the vending machines were broken and frankly there was a bit of a sense of desperation in the air for a drink. The whole place was overrun with multiple Summer camp kids; maybe this works for high schoolers but it's untenable for little kids and older (50ish) folks.
Great shows. Wonderfully educational and the animals were super fun to watch ! The killer whale show is sooo worth it!
Did the dolphins encounter and loved the way the staff treated us! Highly reccomend, A Great above and beyond staff. Only problem was I thought the picture book was over priced $138 for a book with 4 pictures in it.
Had a great time. To bad crocodile exhibit closed. No shark tank.
Had a Great time with kids. Demonstrations are informative.
Very expensive, and the exhibits are way outdated. Good fun for little ones. The messages throughout about protecting the oceans and wildlife, and reducing, reusing and recycling are good.
Perfect day. Great shows. Loved the dolphins and killer whales. Kids had a blast!
It was a nice place & had interesting fish. They just need to renovate the place, it looks pretty old.
Bought our tickets online, but still had to wait in a line to be processed! What a waste! Loved the park, & the shows, but all the employees were terrible. An "I really don't care" attitude. Not at all helpful. We had the pioctures done with Flipper. We were told 5 to 6 pictures, cost $53.00. Waited forever after the show was over for the pics. Discovered at the end of the day, when we went up to pick up the pictures, that we only got to choose 1 picture!!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!! $53.00 for 1 picture???? They never tell you that! Complained, but nobody cares. Too bad they don't have a survey! They need to do some disclosures, & find employees that enjoy their jobs! Very dissappointed :(
Cool place, shows were dope but FACILITIES NEED RENOVATION... DESPERATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I hope people start realizing what they are supporting by visiting this facility. Miami Seaquarium has been keeping these animals in captivity for their benefit and growth, which is not acceptable in any humane society. Please stop visiting this facility and other animal torture houses for your entertainment. Think about it for a moment. The truth will shake you to the core.
Fun for the family to see great animal shows, water splash playground for the kids, and touching stingrays are a great day. However, the dolphin interaction is amazing!
I am from Denver. We don't have the opportunity to see many of the animals here. I felt very blessed by the amazing opportunity it was to come see this. All the shows are fun and kid friendly with lots of excitement and down education too. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I only wish it was a little more clean in some areas, however, when I consider anima care vs general cleanliness, animal Care comes first as I am sure it is for all the staff here. And for tourists with a pretty busy schedule, this is the perfect place if you want to add even just a couple of hours into your activities.
Very fun and thrilling experience with so much to do
This place has a huge potential but the execution of visitors care and attraction of the shows need major revamp. It feels as the fault is in management, not people that work there.
It seems as one of the must see landmark in Miami, but if you can skip it.
Pretty cool place but definitely better for young children. Not a big variety of things to see here. You can get through everything in a few hours.
I wish I could this place zero stars. The orca whale is kept in a small tank with multiple dolphins. There is no recreation of the natural environment for the animals. It is essentially a small white room. I wish I would have known before I entered this establishment. This is inhumane and disgusting. Imagine being kept in a filthy white closet with nothing to look forward to except food for the rest of your life.
Not enough to do, hardly any indoor areas to stay cool, and the animals are confined to small areas which is heartbreaking to see. The manatees are in a tiny pool, and the penguins are kept in what seems like a small bedroom. My kids began overheating and my husband and I were not enjoying the state that the animals were in. I'm upset that I spent $10 on parking to go to a place that none of us enjoyed...we left an hour after getting there. Never again.
The shows are very fun and educational. You can meet flipper!
Great place, the family had a lot of fun visiting and watching all the shows
We went on an overcast day with intermittent showers. We were able to see everything! Our 8 and 9 year old grandkids loved it and it was not a bad walk for this Grandma with bad knees.
Don't bring your kids. It's a big fat illusion. Don't buy that ticket. They promote animal abuse.
The place had some fun animals but was not in very good condition. They were very expensive and I felt like it was not worth the money.
upsetting to see an orca kept in such a small enclosure. The shows are interesting but the marines animals kept there should be wild
A little disappointed, $50 a person to get in, $10 parking. Not much going on. Was not worth the money. We came all the way from Michigan....
What a great Marine Animal Aquarium! So fun! Wish it was larger space for the animals as in every aquarium.
We loved it, great experience, but certain things are little over priced.
Beautiful place!
Orca is the best show!
Nice experience. However I thought the entry fee ($50+) was a bit expensive.
Free Lolita. Terrible facilities and an ILLEGAL pathetic tank for Lolita the orca. Absolutely disgusting, don't support this place and don't buy tickets here, and urge for Lolita's freedom and well-deserved retirement. Watch Blackfish or other documentaries to be informed about the truth of this industry, and where your money is really going in this greedy, harmful industry.
The shows were very good, the trainers did a good job. My only problem was inside the seaquarium was hot. Where is the AC???
Lovely afternoon there, but the prices are too high.
For almost $50 a person for entry, I'd think the place would look less run-down. The shows were nice, but I was concerned about the size of the orca tank.
so fun!! loved watching the whales and dolphins. also, I got to feed a stingray!!!
*DO NOT COME HERE*!!! Please read my entire review, this place is crazy how terrible it is in every single aspect.
1. Disgusting and Smells: NOT CLEANED, the animal exhibits are covered in poop, and the entire place smells as you walk around, specifically the small corral of flamingos that greet you when you arrive at the main gate with an overwhelming smell of piled up bird poop. They must have stuffed 50 flamingos into this small dirty fenced area. Sad and smelly!
2. Terrible Small Pools for Sea Creatures: NO natural or spacious environments for these poor creatures! Small unnatural blue pools for dolphins, manatees in such a small pool the big one could literally barely turn around and appeared too large to fit into the small shaded area. No mandrakes in the manatee pool for instance... nothing natural, just old-fashioned enclosures. I thought all zoos/aquariums in the U.S. moved past these types of sad exhibits years ago! Guess not Miami, shameful.
3. One Lonely Orca!!! Worst part, they have a single orca (meant to live socially with others) in a pool as well. It turns our her original partner died 30 years ago banging his head into the glass. SAD. I didn t know they had a lone captive Orca until I got there. No shade for her etc... terrible conditions.
4. Half the Park is CLOSED including every single food/beverage stand. (But still sells full priced tickets.) I hope you don t want anything to eat or drink because it s all CLOSED. Pinkys Hot Dogs with a sign saying open since the 70s: well not open today! We were there Saturday at noon. BBQ restaurant: CLOSED. Parrot Ice Cove which would have been nice seeing how it s July and 100 degree weather: CLOSED. Dippin Dots: CLOSED. Even the automatic photo booth: CLOSED. Literally they are not even paying staff to operate the hot dog stand on a Saturday.... this place is totally understaffed, dirty, and terrible. Only place to eat is the disgusting cafeteria where my husband managed to swallow a lukewarm old hotdog. I chose to eat nothing.
5. Shows: Every 4 hours, they apparently have one interesting dolphin show in the big pool, but sadly it also features the Lolita the lonely orca. Furthermore, seeing as it only happens every 4 hours, if you get there like we did right as we missed it, you have to wait another 4 hrs. Well there is almost NOTHING else interesting to do here and it s all outside. If you re here in the summer you will never be able to bear waiting 4 hours in the heat for another show. And seeing as the entire park takes about 30 mins to see the whole thing, and there are NO restaurants open, there is no conceivable way to kill time. So you just won t see anything, which is what happened to us. (Not that I want to support an lonely orca show anyway, but you should know in advance what you re getting.)
6. Price: THE MOST LAUGHABLE SAD PART. I have been to every major aquarium and zoo on the east coast, and to compare the National Aquarium in Baltimore (which is indoors, fantastic, provides hours of walk ability and beautiful clean exhibits) costs $40 adult. The National Zoo in DC is free! Miami Seaquarium which is half closed and not even staffed or cleaned? $50 adult! More than the National Aquarium! Amazing rip off. We paid to get in because obviously we had not idea how terrible it would be until we entered. I assumed for the price it would be amazing. NOT! Do not waste your money. After 30 minutes we had seen the entire park (and had nothing decent to eat/drink so no reason to hang out longer.) And again, this is NOT an AC d indoor aquarium so it is miserable all summer. The ONLY reason we didn t ask for our money back is we honestly felt so bad for the animals.
Summary: Buyer beware, this is a very small dirty smelly outdoor park where you walk around a few small animal pools, surrounded by kiosks that all have closed signs. My husband made a funny comment, I wish they had given us a map showing what is actually open. No food/beverage options and everything looks practically abandoned. Take your money (and hopes and dreams) elsewhere!
Great outing for the kids, the park is getting a little better than before but still needs work.
It was greeaat!!!all kinds of things to see!sea treck was awsome.going back soon.
Enjoyed the shows. Not too big. Easy to walk within with kids.
This institution buys stolen whales and then makes them perform for a profit.
Don't let the reviews fool you the animals are happy and well taken care of. The manatees for example would survive for 10 years in the wild, here one is over 60 and they were all rescued after boating accidents. The park itself is small and can be run through decently quickly. The presentations are short and very informative! They offer swimming with seals and dolphins and you can tell they're loved here.
it is fun if you like sea animals and has water park for kids and is fun with presetaion.
The dolphins are beautiful all of the aquarium life is beautiful. Areas getting a bit run down they have to fix this up So that they all have more visitors
We went on a Saturday during spring break. There weren't any big crowds. We were able to see all the shows and exhibits. Loved the hands on interaction with the sea creatures.
Been here in Jan2019, I enjoyed all the shows. I watched Whale show twice. The performance is different from noon show and evening show. So, if you get chance try to watch twice.
Just returned from a visit to Miami Seaquarium and I have to say, we were disappointed. To see a solitary orca, swimming in circles, in a tank that I would call a swimming pool, was disgraceful. Even my 5 year old child knows that Orcas are social and highly intelligent animals that need the interactions of others of their kind. The staff of Miami Seaquarium seemed indifferent to this even though my son kpet asking questions. Their well rehearsed lines rolled off their toungues, but did nothing to assuage the feeling of hopelessness we left with. We will never recommend this place or the city of Miami to any of our friends as a tourist destination.
Miami Seaquarium is a Florida treasure. Dedicated to share the wonder of the undersea world with a dedicated staff of professionals inspiring guests and love for the animals in their care.
The Miami Seaquarium was an incredible experience! We swam with the dolphins and Melissa F was wonderful! If you are in the Miami area I would strongly recommend going to the Seaquarium and doing the dolphins Odyssey!
Very disappointed. I was expecting an indoor, air-conditioned area that would be nice to walk around and get out of the heat. It was overpriced ($46/adult). Face painting and henna was $12+. For a funnel cake, an ice cream cone, and a bottle of water, it was 24 dollars. No water fountains around the park either. Manatees were cramed in a very small tank with absolutely no room to swim. Dolphins had an ok sized area but not as big as they should have. The only nice thing about the park was the top deck dolphin show. Its a nice refresher given you will get wet.
Bottom line: Save your money.
Too expensive, very limited exhibits, the only thing worth is the lolita show and the dolphins, needs some major improvements.
