Really fun place for a day out with the family the shows are really great.
This is a nice place to go as a family. The shows are cute and kooky and they keep you entertained. I will say I think the optimum child age to visit would be between 5 and 13 years of age. My three year old was bored and my fifteen year old was also. The 11 year old loved it and we all really enjoyed the interactive creature touch pond at the entrance! Food is typically over priced like most venues so bring your own water and snacks to save a bit of $$. Everything seems will kept and clean only gripe I had was there were several people smoking and I didn't like walking the baby through that. However the best part for me was no waiting forever in lines! Plus they give you a map with all the shows/features with times when you come in. That way you can plan what you want to see and where to go. They also space the timing rather nicely so you can hop from one attraction to the other with out missing half of a show. The most value I feel you get is when you do the packages like the dolphin swim, it seems pricey up front but it includes admission and they really do teach you about the animals and it doesn't feel rushed. Plus who doesn't love kissing a dolphin? Overall for a special day like a birthday it's totally worth going. I don't see us buying the annual pass though as the novelty would wear off rather fast and where is the fun in that! Oh and parking is kind of steep in my opinion($10) so plan on staying the day to get your money's worth!
Came here on a Wednesday, very little going on, lots of observatories were closed to renovation. It does have a nice view of Miami tho.
My family and I loved it. Frequent shows (we saw 3 in a 3 hour span), rescued animals with their story for you to read, and several touching/ feeding pools. Nice mix of a zoo like presentation with the aquarium atmosphere. Good deal for the Groupon we purchased. We were able to see a lot during our visit.
Had a good time! Price is a little high for what you get and the park itself is rather small. Overall it was fun!
We enjoyed all the shows and the message about the importance of recycling. Not many food places were open and the staff at the shop by the penguin encounter lacked in customer service skills. Apparently even though everything was out and it appeared to be open, while browsing we were told we're closed you need to go to the front. We visited on a Tuesday morning. Got there about 10am and left by 2pm. Glad we were able to get discount tickets on Groupon. Would have been bummed if we had paid $47.99 per person. If you live in the area and pay the $47.99 you can go as many times as you want during 2019 and that would be a great deal.
Very nice could use cleaner restrooms and maybe a lower price
Neat, but about a third of the park was closed when I visited.
Check Groupon for savings on tickets it saved me almost $100
Excellent to share in family. But the food is expensive, so you can bring your own meals.
Tha Aquarium wasn't well maintained at all I felt sorry for the animals. They have so many dolphins that's so unnecessary to have and they're living in small tanks and the poor whale. I dont believe in whale captivity they to be in the ocean
Its a must visit place either you go with or without kids.
Be shure to check out all the shows and dont forget to interact with the cool birds and animals in the park.
Personally I loved the pools where you get to touch differrent animals like smal manta rays and prehistoric looking crabs.
Rhe giant acuarium is just dazzling and cool to look throught and around, check out all the small fish in the adyacent tanks around it.
Remember, youre not having fun if you dont get wet!
For a small seaquarium it was fun. I don't know specifics about how they care for the creatures there but from what I saw all the trainers seemed very friendly and loving towards all they worked with. It definitely could use some modernization and TLC but if people keep giving it bad reviews and their visitor count keeps declining then they won't have the money to keep up with or better their facility. I liked that it was smaller as t was easier to get around to everything and even go back to exhibits we really liked and not feel like we had to rush through everything to see it all. We went Father's Day and they had some fun bounce houses and water inflatables my 9 year old enjoyed.
We were sad we couldn't eat at the food venue we wanted. We were told the worker who was suppose to open it that day never showed up. Kind of a bad reason to keep something closed. Food was eh. I got a bowl of fruit that tasted like it has been soaking in rubbing alcohol so I told the cashier and she let me trade it in. For the most part the staff was nice. We got 2 frozen pina coladas and they were delish. Even came in a fun take home glass.
My favorite show was the sea lions! What an adorable show they out on. Don't waste time on the dolphin show. Flipper was cute but the other dolphin show was lame. They talked and played trivia most of the time. The kids were board and the Dolphins did like 2 tricks. I don't know if we'd go back again unless we got a good deal Iike we did today (dad was free and me and the kids were 50% off)
I wish this place good luck at least for the sake of the mammals there.
I enjoyed the Seaquarium but it's very rundown. It could definitely use an update especially for the price.
My wife, my 8yr and 5yr kids and myself did the Dolphin Discovery program. Awesome opportunity to interact with them, very friendly and enthusiastic staff. Would have rated it a 5-star experience were it not for the extremely unpleasant final surprise. They charge as much for the pictures as for the whole experience (as in: want the pics? You are going to have to pay again for it).
This is lovely place for a one day family trip, kids love this place there are lot of things you can do with your kids apart from watching animals. Just make sure you reach here by 10 am and check there daily routine.
Come here every year. Kids love it. Somewhat dated and hasn't kept up but overall still a great experience
you are evil to leave lotita in that small pool of dirty water with no companions. free her to a sanctuary!!!!
Pros:
Dolphin shows, Whale Shows
Seeing all the Birds, fish etc....loved seeing all of those!
Cons:
Some food places not open, ice cream places were not open.
Pizza is horrible, and too expensive.
Only reason i gave this 4 stars is for the Animals, and shows!
Great experience and staff very friendly especially Christina made me and my family feel welcomed thanks
Plan for about 4-5 hours, if you want to experience all of the shows and participate in one encounter experience. The basic price is a little high, compared to some of the comparable, bigger aquariums with shows, but would be good for families with small children who might prefer a more navigatable park. Park needs some maintenance, but it is clean. The penguin encounter was nicely done - a good amount of time with two of the penguins (petting, close up entire time), plus watching a feeding. Exhibit care takers were very friendly and informative.
Beautiful and memorable place for my family but management should improve and pay more attention to food and services. Restaurant is wack
Toll just to get on Rickenbacker causeway, $10 to park, then $47 plus tax to enter. Poor manatees look miserable.
Beautiful place to visit with your family!! The kids loved it!
We were able to experience the dolphin encounter which was so awesome. Our guide was super nice and very knowledgeable. We were able to see a dolphin perform multiple tricks and only a few feet away from us. We were also able to touch and kiss the dolphin. A great experience. As for the seaquarium itself it didn't seem like much was going on because it had rained for about 20 min and most of the food had closed down due to the rain. Maybe we just caught it at a bad time.
If you choose to ignore what's going on here, your part of the problem. Be part of the solution and make history! Free the dolphins and poor Lolita the orca from their prison! Supply and demand. Don't go. Don't go. All this is is greed.
Established was clean and quiet. Even though it was a minimal crowd, staff at show still showed professionalism. Establishment had plenty of sanitary stations and everyone wore mask.
Great park with a lot of aquariums with different sea creatures
Not impressed. Shows were slow and boring. Not much to see and explore. Staff seemed tired and bored as well.
Clean your turtles they don't deserve to live in disgusting area . There is garbage in their water.
What an amazing family experience during our visit to Miami from New Jersey! We enjoyed all the wildlife and shows! Grecia Z was an amazing staff member and went above and beyond to explain about the history of the park and how to navigate through the parks and shows! Thank you Grecia Z!
Great first time experience for my entire family! Lots of educational activities & entertainment for all ages.
All the shows were really good. Nice facility, not crowded
You should definitely call ahead of time to see which exhibits are actually open.
It was very hot but we njoy a lot. The familie pictures were very nice
Enjoyed it very much. Kids loved it. Perfect for a family day!
The exhibits are good we had fun but the restaurant manatee cafe location is very old and dirty the employees that are manipulating food are not using any type of had to cover their heads the food was just ok
I knew that it would be sad to see all those animals in those aquariums but never expected to see it so blah....the place needs some upgrading. The manatee aquarium was by far the saddest. Those 2 poor manatees in a super dirty unkept aquarium.
Its amazing place, best of best ,I ma surprised with some ratings and reviews .Dont miss it .
It was awesome its a fun place to explore and have family quality time
Can't wait to come with my kids. Went with my husband. We had a great time.
Prepare to open your wallets and spend the day in an antiquated, crowded, dirty atmosphere. It hasn't changed since the 70s. What a waste of money and time! Do not bother with meeting the dolphins. It costs a fortune, and is solely there so you buy the very expensive pictures. Nothing is facing the spectators for this reason. I felt monetarily RAPED!
It was awesome. If you are looking for a place to visit, it's. I wish I had more time to see all the shows.
Looking forward some time to go back.
Greet job!
Nice place to visit, lot of information provided about displayed animals, nice shows
Did the penguin experience. I felt that I was paying too much for such little time interaction with them. It was more of the keeper talking than anything.
The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the general admission price is too high. Overall family experience was great. The shows were fun and the attractions kept the kids entertained
The best attraction ever! Great for kids and adults.
Great tourist attraction. Wonderful place to enjoy with the family.
Haven't been back to Miami Seaquarium since a field trip in 4th grade, and even then I thought this place was awful. Now, after learning more about the awful living conditions of the animals, specifically the Orca, I wouldn't step foot on the grounds if they paid me! Very sad to keep a whale that size enclosed in a pool so small...
Ok park. Pretty run down. The dolphin shows were great which keeps them in business. Needs a makeover.
Very worth the four stars! The shows are very well and organized. The animals like really well treated and healthy. This is a top place if you like the marine shows with dolphins and sea lions. I highly recommend specially if you have kids.
Nevertheless, I have been to many such a places (US and Europe) and this is very high in the cost / benefit scale. Everything is overpriced. Everything. I know it is costly to maintain such a a large facility, but here it is at least twice the price of Europe. Food is not so great, staff no so polite, and yet you pay a small fortune for lunch. Price of pictures are incredibly expensive.
Go if you enjoy this type of activity, but be warned.
Very good. If you like taking pictures this is a perfect place.
Do not forget your phone.
I recommend it
One of the saddest places I ve been to in my entire life. The dolphins are kept in tiny pools where all they can do is go around in circles all day ...
Absolute AMAZING experience a whole day filled with fun and entertainment!!!
My family and I had an excellent time here. I know there's a lot of caution in 2020 when it comes to animal care. They are very transparent with how the animals are cared for and handled.
A shadow of its former glory. I took the family to Miami Seaquarium, expecting a similar experience to what they offered during the 80s when I was a boy. This park was such a disappointment! The animal shows used to be much more exciting and entertaining, but apparently animal rights activists have succeeded in convincing enough people that any interaction between animals and humans is abuse of some kind. Where we used to be delighted by displays of dolphin and orca playfulness and intelligence, we get lectured on how bad humans are. Thanks animal rights whackos for sucking the fun out of my kids' childhood!
I took my parents here for my mom's birthday and father's day. We went on the seatrek adventure and it was the best experience my parents have ever had.
Bravo for the work trainers / animal care givers do. I do think the place needs an update I think for 50.00 dls per person, 40.00 per kids they should add more exhibits and or other shows.
miami seaquarium is very fun and has many cool stuff and in the summer you can get refreshed by the waterparks
Enjoyed walking around with my family. Wish they provided a schedule for showz
ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS- The main attraction which is The Killer Whale Show is closed for maintenance and you are not told when purchasing tickets. Mostly everything is closed . The prices for beverages and food are absolutely out of hand. Unless you want to spend $20 for 1 water 2 Gatorade and a coke DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!
Awesome had a great day with my wife, from South Dakota
We try the margarita pizza with spicy sauce and I so love it and perfectly satisfied it.
I took my grandchild to the seaquarium for his first time. I was very disappointed with the facility. The shows are too short, not enough time under 20 min each.
A few friends and I visited a couple weeks ago and had so much fun! We were helped by Rachel in the front and she went above and beyond in recommending activities for us to do. We ended up doing the sea trek experience with Jimmy..it was GREAT! Jimmy was so nice and so outgoing..he was a phenomenal guide and a had a great personality. It was definitely memorable... We will be recommending this to others!
Lots of fun. Chance to see animals we don't get to see in, at least my part of Canada. The animal shows are aimed at kids primarily but it's fun nonetheless
Overpriced is the first thing that comes to my mind but... It's a good and fun place for kids. They play and learn so, it's up to you.
Great time! Fun, interactive. My suggestion to the park is to include more shaded places because it gets really hot with all the asphalt. Expect to pay extra for parking. Sometimes the line to get in the park is long.
Very disappointing experience and too expensive tickets. The place is dirty, all the food places are closed except one (manatee cafe) it supposed that is an aquarium right? Well, there are no fishes in the tanks, only a few. If you want to see the Lolita's show be prepared because the show is not available anymore "the tank is under maintenance" they say. I will not come back again.
Decent Seaquarium with Dolphins being the main attraction, dont miss the Dolphin show!!
can see birds as well.
couple of hours are sufficient to cover it.
Looks a little old, and the animals show are only to listen and listen the host all over and over. They can do better.
So much fun ! Great place for kids and adults . Make sure to bring water ! usually you walk a lot from show to show .
