this is the worst collection agency...unprofessional...MAXX the manager hang up on me. They are using the wrong info to try to come after me. completly agaist the law to use an employees application for a leasing contract. i requested the information that they have for me. would not listen. WRONGFUL PRACTICE .

It will make a great story on the news once this scam is dismantled. This company is stealing from people, and there are more than one way to prove it. I call for an action law suit against this company. BTW, Matt, don't bother responding, "Please contact Matt, the office manager to resolve this complaint." You are the one directing the whole scheme, you pathetic criminal. Yes, we may owe money, but we owe it because we don't make a living taking from the less fortunate, you THIEF!!!

I don't mind paying off my debt . But why won't Metro Collection take a credit or debit card?. You have to pay with money order. To me it's set up for you to fail. We live in 2020. Metro why don't you spend money on a credit card machine? & Collection person was unprofessional sound like she was smoking twenty cigarettes at once. SMH.

Matt shire or Gleason whichever his name is the manager or whatever they call themselves and les Johnson are the rydest most disrespectful "business" men I've ever had to deal with they literally hung up in my face because they were to stupid to understand my question which was is there a most minimum amount that I have to put down to start or setup payment arrangements .... Thought it was a straight foward common sense question but guess u need common sense to understand it

It's funny how people that don't want to pay their debt write bad reviews. I owed them money. They were very professional about it. I paid them back, and they went above and beyond after the debt was settled to ensure that this was not something that was going to be haunting my credit for next 7 years. Don't believe all the poor reviews below this because this was not my experience with Metro Collections.

Count me among the others who have had an exceptional experience with Metro collections. I had an issue due to a small bill being mailed to a very old address. Not sure how that happened, but I called Metro, they explained clearly and politely. The bill was mine, I paid, everything was good. Almost 6 months later I was buying a home and found that there were still derogatory marks on my credit report due to this issue. I figured since I had already paid, I wouldn't be a big priority to them, but quite the opposite. Just as I had held up my end of the deal and paid my bill, THEY ALSO HELD UP THEIR END and fixed my issue in UNDER 36 HOURS! 6 months after my file was closed! Carol and Matt are both amazing assets to this business and their customers. Nobody wants to deal with collection agencies, but many of the reviews below reflect the exact opposite of my experience. This is the reason for my review. If you are a reasonable person who found themselves in a situation, you would be fortunate to be working with Metro Collections.

Steve is just plain out rude. Just called me a low life because of choices I made. Thanks for making a judgement on my life on something you couldn't have possibly known.

I have been trying to settle this and I have attempted to make payment on the phone and they do not except anything over the phone under $100 and the man that I am working with is a major jerk and I just want to get this settled. I never get upset but the way he had talked to me and made me feel is very upsetting. I would like some one else to take over my account then speak with him he is horrible has no respect for people at all.

Well I will be paying off my debt with in the next few weeks, But I called about a month ago and didn't understand what kind of collection agency this was, because usually if it's an old debt agencies will usually allow you to settle. I asked the manager/part owner why couldn't I settle? For his reply to just be a short smart ass response. I am not sure if I caught him on a bad day or what but he was a real class act. I know he or anyone else at that office owes me nothing but maybe giving some respect now and again could go along way. Their customer service is as good as dealing with Wells Fargo lol and that's not saying much...But I will say the women that 's actually handling my case was an awesome gal who explained to me why this agency does not settle.

I talked to Matt S. and he's a pretty reasonable guy. Nobody likes having a debt, there can be a simple mistake like an address change or whatever the reason but in the end things have to be taken care of.
So, I guess after reading a few reviews, I'm happy that Matt S is the one that I was in contact with and we had the issue resolved that all started out with a change of address and didn't pay a debt that was mine.

If you have a debt from Metro Collections they will state that they have called you but they never leave a message or they state that you hanged up on them. It is your responsibility to pay off your debt but this is a 2 way street and they should be better communicators.

Pay off the debt ASAP. I learned my lesson the hard way and had to pay a ton more that I owed. The problem with this company is that the do not have a way to pay with a credit card or debt card. They love to get a hold of you bank account so that if you do not pay them then they will go directly after you bank account without notification that they are garnishing your bank account.

I love the way that they come back and state that they have called my over and over again. I highly recommend that if you do talk to them that you record every conversation that you have with them. They say one thing one day and then several days later they state something else. I have recorded all of my conversations and know what I have told them and what they have told me.

Bottom line they are not very nice Debt collectors especially when they know that you are unemployed and owe money.

If i could give 0 stars i would. These people are the absolute scum of the earth. Collecting on a debt i had with another signer other then myself from soooo long ago. I have already paid them more then half of the debt. A lot more. They claim they can not find the other signer and are not able to collect from him. So just take more from me? When i have worked with Matt and Nina in Paying this debt from more then 11 years ago. Ask them to change my payments amounts each month to lesser amount ( 250.00 to 150.00) and they just claim they "can't" because that is what the court has... Never have i ever felt like less of a person then when i am speaking to these monsters...

Not many times do I feel as though I need to write a review for a business. Especially a collection agency. Personally I believe the review system is constructed to demonize a "one time" bad service claim, and consumers often disregard all the times at an establishment they were treated fairly and just.

But my experience with Matt at Metro Collection Service Inc. was nothing but exceptional. Although i was confused and disgruntled, he acted professional, courteous, kind and understanding towards my unique situation. He was more than willing to give me leniency, he was patient with me and i am very impressed with the professionalism and the way he treated me.

This review is rather long, so who knows who is reading it by the 3rd paragraph. Collection agencies have a bad reputation because of the field of work that they are in. But as a consumer who is trying to get his life back on track after a terrible couple of years, it is important for me to understand how I got a collection agency to call me or garnish my wages in the first place. It was my own doing, and they are just doing their jobs.

I hope to never have to deal with Metro Collection Service, Inc. ever again. But if I do, Matt has my back, and so do the other staff there. Thanks again for working with me, being flexible, your understanding and patience.

My case manager sussan is unperfessional and likes to compare lifes with her clients instead of offering any kind of assitance. These people dint care if you are about to lose your home or have kids that you have to provide for. As long as they get your money they could care less if the completely drianed you finachilly. Font waste your time here. They don't care and would rather be unprofessional.

Had a debt that was owed to an apartment $2617, was suppose to ship of to bootcamp, got a letter to release from my lease then busted my knee cap and well the rest is history. Filed for an appeal on the debt they shut it down. Called today because the apartment I rented from said I have an outstanding balance of 2616 and some change. That I needed to reach out to these guys. Spoke to Renee who was nice enough to clock back in because she answered the phone lol. Anyways I asked if I could settle the amount of 2617 and she informed me that I actually owe $4782 because of interest..... that I could pay $2000 today and set up payment plans for the rest. Well that came as a shock. I have no problem paying off my debt. But paying that much in interest when I don't believe I have ever even received a phone call... I can't wait to see what comment I get on this. I have never had something like this happen before. I am not saying i don't owe anything but saying that i can't pay what was actually owed and that i almost owe just as much in interest is robbery for sure

I have been disputing an account for 3 years. I submitted documentation to 2 different reps showing proof that I did not owe the amount and they stopped responding. They stopped trying to collect but also will not remove the item from my credit report.

This company is a joke. Called and said i owe a former landlord. no didn't owe my former landlord they owed me and after telling whoever they never called but I just wanted to say i won my case and now said former landlord owes me but I wouldn't use this company to collect they say you owe and there wasn't even a judgement I just had my trial today and won!

The hours to make a payment into a Dropbox and almost impossible to any normal working person. Why can't I pay with a card online or over the phone? Impossible.

I have to pay a debt to this company for an old apartment. I am now being garnished because with triple the amount that I originally owed. I called and talked to an older lady, who was not very understanding. I told her a would want to dispute the claim and I was told she is not going to stop the garnishment. I never got any kind of letters or acknowledgments about the garnishment that was to be. They did not even offer me payments or anything. I am a single mother with 4 kids and really cannot afford this right now. I don't have a problem paying the debt, but with paying 3 times more us ridiculous. In my lease it stated that if we were to terminate our lease early we would owe $0.00 dollars. I also requested all paperwork and onky received the lease. I did not receive any court papers that I asked for. Like I said I don't mind paying, but these guys are literally stealing from my kids. We already barely make ends meet as it is. They are taking 25% off my take home pay. I did explain to the older lady, that they are making it so I have to choose in between bills. I understand that I owe, but like I said, they are literally stealing.

Everyone seems to have bad reviews for Metro Collections only because they are upset that they have a debt that they don't want to pay off. I personally was left with a $4,000 debt from my ex, they couldn't track him down and I got stuck with paying it off by myself. Metro Collections was never rude or harassed me. I am happy to say that I am debt free as of this last week and Renee Bryant was a pleasure to work with throughout my years of making payments to her. People need to understand that they are just doing their job and are hired from the agency where the debt originated from.

Nasty place to deal with. Spoke to MAXX THE MANAGER OF THE PLACE! He didn't want to tell me what my debt was for. This place is nothing but a joke. They only harass you as a person. Only will hang up on you if you start answer question.

Lies. These people are unbelievable. The law means nothing to these people, but it does to me. Hence the forthcoming lawsuit for frivilous lawsuits filed wasting county court time. See you in court.

My husband is trying to settle a debt from him and his ex wife. When he called, the lady with whom he spoke to said that she needed to call him back because she didn't know what his balance currently was. The first time she called back she told him the balance was doubled what it was supposed to be. He informed her that wasn't the right amount, so she said she'd call back. When she called back, she informed him that in April of 2015, he was supposed to be in court and that he owed lawyers fees and such. We weren't residing in the state of Colorado in 2015, and the address the lady gave my husband has never been an address for him or his ex wife. When he questioned her, she said she'd call him back to get more info. He didn't hear back and he called 8x trying to get in contact after he revived a voicemail from her. At 3pm (1500), he called and called and asked for her boss, who was already gone for the day. He then tried to speak to anyone that could assist them and apparently they all had left by 3pm. He's trying to pay this debt but will not pay for fees that aren't legally charged. There was never any court date or judgement placed against him. Judgements show on your credit report. Which there is none for this on his credit report. If this judgement had happened, they would garnish wages or taxes. None of this has happened, two years after said "court" date. This is a shame that this company is handling a disabled vets case this way. Someone who wants to do the right thing because he knows him and his ex wife owe this money, and they can't give him the correct amount to pay and LIE about papers being served to a place where he's never lived or heard of. We will be reporting this to the BBB and seeking counseling from JAG.

I'm not sure if these people are dumb, or just stupid. I owe them a debt and they make it impossible to pay. They don't take credit cards because they are too cheap collecting everyone's money that they can't pay the fees, they only have certain drop box hours, and they send you to western union who charges 15 fricken dollars to send money. What sense is to to pay money to pay a bill? None! It's not my choice to pay these thieves, they should make it easier to take people's money since that's what they are good at. The representatives are incompetent and this whole company is a crap shoot. I feel bad for anyone who gets stuck associating with them.

This place is terrible! People should boycott any business who uses them to collect a debt. In my case, I didn't know I owed money until I was served court papers. I would have happily payed the bill, but instead I was served a court summons. Companies should NEVER use these people!!!!

Customer service could use some revamping, but BEING a collection's rep is stressful, so it's no wonder they go on "auto pilot", which can SEEM unprofessional, when really it's just unemotional. General customer service should be to educate customers on a the "human level", and not repeat legal jargon (or share specific claims on public threads). But, again, I'm not rating on being fluffy. I WILL say I'm bummed at the limited payment options. At least have some form of virtual payment online option, even if it is check or transfer. Other than that, it is what it is.

I was impressed with the calm and professionalism I received from my agent and the manager, Matt. They were responsive to my request for additional information and never rude. I was able to resolve my debt quickly and without anger.
