Food TOP -> room floppy

Food TOP -> room floppy
The Mercure Hotel in Zwolle, not far from the motorway. The food was great, the service a bit clumsy and not at all motivated. It's a shame, because the dishes from the kitchen were very good.
To the hotel itself. It is getting on in years. The rooms are small and could be a little cleaner.

Mixed experience, for breakfast you have to be here (because everything is in perfect order), not for sleeping, at least not on the 3rd floor. And because it's a hotel: Quality: 0. We were there on a not too hot day / night, but the air conditioners / cooling systems made a huge noise, so much that I switched rooms in the middle of the night, so I had a completely broken night, very disappointing if you is told that he had heard from colleagues. How about making sure it is resolved and not renting out the rooms that are right under it during the "defect"?

Hotel rooms are ok except for one thing;
Rooms on the wing at 110 and 109 suffer a lot from mechanical low-frequency noise pollution. We were in a larger group and had different rooms. All rooms were more or more affected by this.
A reason not to go back if nothing is done about this.

Another point that applies to the region; The prices of dishes are stated on the menus of almost all catering establishments, but not of drinks, beer, wine, soft drinks. Both at hotels, restaurants and cafes. Some setbacks / surprises from 4 to 5 for a beer
Do not increase the revelry.

Arrived at Mercure hotel for the high price of 450Euro booked a room incl for 5 nights without breakfast incl 5 days parking. Quite high expectations, because this is not cheap.

Immediately upon arrival you could hear an immense orchestra of sounds, the air conditioning ventilation system humming (even if you had it switched off), and an immense hum from outside, just as if motorcyclists are driving on a circuit all the time. You could still listen through this first, but really not this second.

The oh so beautiful Mercure hotel .. is oh so remote .., but has even more noise in the rooms than if you are in the middle of the city. As a result, you cannot sleep a wink here! Complain to reception, and could get another room, it would be oh so quiet here .. So from the second floor to the ground floor in the middle of the night, but also the noise. Makes sense, because it came from outside, and we were on the same side, just a little lower. Finally packed stuff in the middle of the night and drove home. Hotel shyly apologized and said it would contact us by phone or email. Then was told that not a cent of the 450 will be returned.

A big SHAME for a chain like Mercure, we didn't even stay there for 1 night, 450 !!! And while they just rent out the room to other people for another 450 !! In addition, do not even return the parking fee for 6 days while I only parked there for 1 night?
Folks, save your money, this hotel is DISASTER, Mercure pretends to be very high, but it's a baguette chain from France with staff just out of school. DO NOT go there, there are much better hotels in Zwolle for less money, a forewarned counts for 2 !!

The breakfast is very extensive and delicious. Our room was small but super equipped, with a wonderful bathroom and a small TV (HD). Our room was on the stairs and unfortunately every step was heard. Otherwise a cute little hotel in which a stay definitely worth it

Although the hotel looks like a tin bar from outside, there are cozy rooms inside. Excellent parking. Good breakfast. Tidy, warm. Pleasant receptionist. The only blot was that there was no water in the morning. But it was not the hotel's fault, reportedly it was a failure in the waterworks throughout Zwolle

Neat but somewhat dated hotel and does not really exude cosiness to have a bite to eat or just to drink coffee. On a Sunday afternoon at the end of February we left again because we were the only ones.

In itself great to meet to talk and drink, partly due to the location. It was very quiet at 7:30 pm and in my opinion very compact. The staff quickly adjusts the order to your wishes, which is fine with me.

I won a New Year's Eve package with 1 night via Facebook. It is a nice hotel with nice rooms. Great dinner and breakfast buffet. Upon arrival, delicious chocolate milk and chocolate cake and evening snacks, oliebollen and champagne. Only downside is that it was a New Year's Eve package but that there was nothing to do. Have watched TV all evening. Furthermore, very nice staff. For an overnight stay when you're on the road fine. Also for a few nights at e.g. to explore the area, the hotel is a must !!!

Quiet location for consultation. For a small amount per person per hour you can use a separate part with coffee and cakes. The meeting location could be decorated in a more modern way.

Super-friendly service at the reception, at breakfast and in the restaurant. Although these are difficult times due to the corona settings and the rules are sometimes difficult to apply, everyone does their best. Price-quality food is good and there is a wide choice. The room was small but clean
The restaurant could use a makeover and certainly some of the seating areas. Shame the bar was closed due to the corona. We have ridden wonderful bike rides at junctions 180 km in 4 days with a normal bike, which is nice to do. We enjoyed our 4-day hotel package

We spent the weekend with friends from 8 September 2017 at the Mercure Hotel in Zwolle. We were all very pleased with this hotel. Clean rooms, maybe a little on the small side, but we didn't experience that as an objection. And then the hospitality! In the morning a party to go to the rich breakfast. Great, attentive service. Dinner also great and again a great service. Good roads for trips in the area such as Hattem. Ample parking. I can recommend this hotel to everyone. Operation thanks for your contribution to a very successful weekend.

I've been here a few times. The portions for lunch are too small for me. After soup and dish I like another dish.
The furnishings are fine, as are the sanitary facilities.
Parking is free for the first 2 hours.

I have been coming to Zwolle for work for years. I have tried several hotels, but for now have also tried the Mercure once because of its practical location (not in the center), where I can also quickly access the highway.

However, I did not have such a pleasant experience and I will NOT come back here to stay overnight because of the following:

In my room I was bothered by a deep hum and a light shaking. I walked into the hall and heard it there too. Then asked other hotel guests in the hallway if they heard it in their room and that turned out to be the case.

When I looked out my window I thought I saw generators or fans attached to the building. I thought it wouldn't bother me, but when I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep anymore, it was clear to me never to come back here. I was also on the top floor let alone if I had a room downstairs next to the generators / fans. The noise and vibration is comparable to the neighbor's washing machine! Personally, I think that is really not possible in a hotel where you pay, apart from all the service and conveniences, to simply be able to spend the night in peace.

I will omit the pluses because they are nothing like this, because you come for your night's rest. Regardless of what you are going to pay for your room, there is a good chance that you will suffer from this because it comes from outside. Unfortunately, the architect of the building did not think this through!

Once reporting the problem to the bali, the front desk clerk and the "concierge" said; Oh yes that is the air conditioning which is attached to the top of the building. Yes it is an old building with a wooden roof. I will look into it if there is indeed a problem. "Receptionist then indicates that she cannot do anything about it and then says goodbye. So in addition to the fact that the building is not properly laid out, it was also not tidy for the reception employee to dismiss me like that.

It seems to me that the hotel has known about this for some time given the previous reviews. So the problem is known and nothing is being done about it to date. That is why I sincerely recommend the Vandervalk, Lumens and the slightly more expensive Wientjes in Zwolle for (business) overnight stays. For worse overnight stays, I recommend the Campanile and now also the Mercure!

Hotel is ok, nothing to complain about, but already gives the impression that it has had its best times. It all makes a little 'dusty' impression. Huge parking lot, but when we were there were hardly any. Room was nice, but the bathroom lacked storage space and hooks for hanging towels. Breakfast good, a lot of choice and it is refilled until the end. Hotel is a little out of the way, it takes about 20 - 30 minutes to walk to the city center.
