Mercure Hotel Amsterdam City Review

Very comfortable and comfortable, although a bit expensive for four days

I thought it was very good, if it were more central, it would be perfect.

We chose this property for its location and price. For the rest it's a nice disappointment. Endless waiting time (20 to 30 minutes): check in on-line, bike rental, and especially to collect our luggage. We almost missed our train. Otherwise hotel that requires a full refresh ... hidden by the bar and the terrace on the ground floor. The rooms: catastrophic highway soundproofing! dust, seals and VMC not clean at all. Not to mention windows!

Booked a classic room and got a business room. So far so good, the room was not the largest but completely ok. We were not in the hotel for breakfast so no review. Coffee machine in the room. Unfortunately, it was not 100 percent clean, but it was only minor things. Transport connections run super to metro max 8 minutes. About 15 minutes to the center. (Day ticket 6.50) Ideal for a city break. We felt comfortable

Ideal on the outskirts of the city with good facilities for parking and transport options to the center. Friendly staff

My girlfriend and I found ourselves quite well ... except for a few dirty towels.

Arrived at reception and nobody felt responsible for us ( there were 3 employees - doing nothing) . After 15 min of waiting the woman checked us in and gave absolutely no information about everything in the hotel- not even a friendly smile
The room was not clean! The telephone and remote control are ready to be cleaned after ages. I found foreign hairs in the bathroom, the fridge didn't work and in the mornings you can clearly hear the construction works very loud. The result is a headache, bad Amsterdam memories and an exhausting trip- waste of money. Unbelievable and unacceptable!

Business hotel where many business customers. Have chosen it because of cycling distance to the ziggo dome

Excellent stay at the Mercure hotel.
Very classy hotel, very good reception and the care with the customers. With a lot of small attentions.
The metro station is just minutes away and in 15 minutes you are at the central station.

The hotel staff were really helpful and friendly, however, the room was pretty basic. There was nothing in the mini bar, no bottles of water, no hair conditioner etc. The pillows were also small, but there were 4 of them so not quite so bad. The imagery on the bathroom sliding door was a little odd (several faces staring at you!), but you get used to them.
The hotel bar was nice, however, and the seating areas were lovely on the ground floor. The breakfast was pretty standard but covered a variety of tastes.

Room ok, dinner with service only mediocre, good location

Suitable especially for those who do not have many needs, it remains slightly inconvenient to reach by public transport such as the metro, good during the day, but in the evening or if it rains absolutely uncomfortable, unless you have your own vehicle to get around. Excellent breakfast, pay the supplement is worth. Overall good value for money.

Great hotel. A bit strange that it is called 'City', because it is a bit out of the center.

Price performance ratio was not right. Minniebar was not filled and dirty!

Nice place but location is not that great!! Too far away from the metro!! Also one day they forgot to make up the room!! Super bad mistake!!!

A great hotel, very elegant and full of services! The flaw in any hotel is the carpeting in the rooms as it is unhygienic. Cleaning is to be improved.

Lovely staff and great shop to get snacks from at reception . Room was comfortable although was a little warm at times!

Far from everywhere. The environment is not safe there are many criminal acts.
The rooms had a lot of damage, especially the bathroom there was a leak of up wetting the carpet cause the rooms smell musty.

Hotel located a few km from centro.comodo x sightseeing. Very clean rooms. Comfortable beds, clean sheets and duvets. From the rooms you have a visa on the fantastic canal. 800 meters underground service that takes you to the city in five minutes. Friendly and helpful staff. I recommend it

Comfortable and excellent stay at hotel. Bedrooms and all bedding and towels were spotless. Made very welcome on arrival. Any querries were answered quickly.

Was a pleasant stay. Room incl. Bathroom was very clean, nice view of the Amstel. The staff was very nice and helpful. Food in the restaurant was great.
By boat, scooter or public you are fast in the center.

Great hotel with a nice snack shop, however it is 15 mins away from the Amsterdam main centre , easily accessible by public transport and Uber.

One night to make a judgment is quite short. However, we felt that the room was ok; the perfect breakfast, and the hotel service met our expectations.
The various services of the lobby (grocery store, bar, reception) have received our satisfaction.

This hotel made our holiday! We stayed for 4 nights and this is the best hotel we could have stayed at. They have a lot of luxurys to offer and the staff are really nice. Xadim was the best start to the holiday we could have received, he is defiently an asset to the hotel and why it is so great. 100% would recommend.

Asked for a request which i do know working in the travel industry is not guaranteed, Low floor and early check in i was on the Top Floor and the guy that checked me in thought this was amusing and i could of checked in early if i paid more money and upgraded to suite, thats all he was interested in.
Rooms Terrible Tired Not very clean having to every day for more refreshments when they remembered shelves missing from furniture,Asked 3 days in a row for room to be cleaned and fresh towels still waiting.
Asked for early morning call as had early flight still waiting.
Emailed hotel about my dissatisfaction received a email to say i would get a response soon still waiting.

Nice hotel at covinent distance from the metro station. Be aware of the last metro

Super welcome 6min walk from the metro to the hotel is located next to the water at the back, but in the front on a small road where there are no shops where others back away from the city but super nice and comfortable quiet j'adore also make hotels remote and quiet to know that by metro we are 15 minutes from the center of Amsterdam so nickel the room at the top of the top le super comfortable bed what is Rare lol you have a shop downstairs with food a little pricey but the same price as the city center 3 euros a small bottle of water but reassure you it offers a bottle of spa in your room. We had dinner downstairs at the restaurant hamburger not top level meat (may be used to the one I do) but against the fries without fat flowing and mayonnaise by cons I would have preferred a plate because the board small and seen that there is food and sauce flowing y'avais pretty well on the table next time I ask frankly of my new visit I would return the bottom by cons less waste at the goblet level but frankly one of the nicest hotels I've done in Amsterdam

Brilliant in all areas all staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel room was brilliant would definitely come again and would definitely recommend to anyone going to amsterdam.

Our Privilege rooms were perfect, although not on the same floor. The rooms are quite small but not a problem, there was everything we needed.
Reception and check-out with a very friendly staff (Ahmed and Xadim) and hearty breakfast, excellent, with a very wide schedule.
Half price parking on Friday and Saturday is a real asset!

Booked 2 rooms a couple of months in advance but ended up in different towers (the hotel has 2) which was a bit rubbish. Staff were very helpful and the hotel sells things like metro tickets so you don't need to mess about with the machines at the station. Breakfast vastly overpriced.

Extremely comfortable and clean accommodation. Every receptionist without exception was friendly and helpful. Super breakfasts although pricey. The only reason I have given a score of 9 rather than 10 is because the dinner menu was rather disappointing. Despite being a large conference hotel, I felt like I was in a friendly environment with delightful different areas to sit and have coffee. A very pleasant seating area outside by the canal. I would recommend this hotel.

Good location. Close to train station. A ferry goes to the town as well from the hotel. Good rooms and bar.

Cleaned room, new towels every day, amazing bar to chill out . Just not too close to the Center. you can reach it by the underground anyway.

Very friendly staff in the restaurant, fast service. The first three hours of parking is also free.

Arrived at 1 p.m. and our reserved room was not yet free, which is not bad, since check in is only at 2 p.m. We were told that we could check in at 2pm ... we have 4pm right now and we are still sitting at 9am in the lobby and are being held there House must not be. I say poor performance ..

Near to RAI. Good quality. However, rooms are not as big as expected but so far so good.

Good Hotel, accomodation is ok, rooms at least on the lower floor require refurbishing. Business facilities and catering was good, nice and innovative choices. Lunch as buffet, good quality. One remark: too far from the centre to be called 'city'. Need a cab to go downtown.

Nice hotel, comfortable, cozy, great supply if food options (in room, dine in, supermarket type quick options too). Adequate mtg spaces with modern appearance. Only complaint as to not 5 stars is bc it doesn't seem to be close to anything (not in walking distance).

Lovely hotel and friendly , bit out of the way if staying ,not near city center ( 20 minutes ) great boat ride into center from hotel 1 hour tho' ,great area for shopping and eating houses if not wanting to go into city center

TV smaller than the norm now. Every time I entered the room it had a odour that I can only describe as "new/fresh plastic". Overall experience was fine though.

Stay within the expected by the network. Some specific problems regarding air conditioning and connection costs.

Small room but clean. hotel a bit from Metro and so difficult to come with luggage. hotel should have transport between hotel vs Metro the whole day not only morning. it will be my first and last time

Been here with 2 girlfriends, and had booked a triple room, unfortunately something had gone wrong here, and got an extra double room without extra payment.
A good full breakfast.
The prices of the rooms, and breakfast and dinner are unfortunately slightly on the expensive side.
But all in all had a good stay here, TOP !!

Excellent business hotel. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is complete, and they constantly seem to be improving. The city centre is about 5km away and easily reached by bike.
