Mercure Hotel Amsterdam City Review

Overall very pleasant - only once there was something to complain about: a freshly washed towel had a plaster on the edge ... that has cast a shadow over the great stay.

Overall it was a pleasant stay. Instead of a single room I received a 3-bed room. That was okay. Unfortunately, the bathroom had seen better times (there were clearly visible mold marks in all corners). Apart from that everything was clean. What really disturbed were the elevators. They were very slow and small, so sometimes you had to wait around 10 minutes to get one of the coveted seats. Running to the 14th floor every time would not be an option.
All in all, but still recommended, if you do not want to stay in the hotel permanently.

Very good hotel...even though a bit of a walk to the station and the room size is a bit too small...but nun the less very good experience....

Stayed here for 2 nights.. found the room very comfortable. Both my wife and I loved the the small soft pillows would love to hear where we can get them... staff were fantastic and very friendly..... and thanks for the extra coffee pods we asked for a from Xadim in reception..... We will be staying here again when visiting Amsterdam

Hotel is not located downtown but is close to metro stations and other means of transportation. It also provides transportation to the city center at certain times. Excellent service and very good food too (however a bit expensive).

Friendly staff, good facilities, all in all we were very satisfied with both the location and the friendliness of the staff! Rooms were very clean. :-)

Very good hotel located on the edge of the city of Amsterdam and close to public transport.
The business rooms are good but it lacks some things in my opinion for this to be perfect. There are no glass glasses in the bathroom. There is also no bottle opener in the room, you have to go down 6 floors with the bottles to find one.
The breakfast is very good, it's almost perfect. There is a lot of salty with cheese that is pretty good. Too bad the sparkling water is so complicated to find and not very good.
The prices charged by the hotel live are not necessarily the best, result I do not accumulate anything on my stay.
I recommend this hotel for your stay in Amsterdam, it is fine even if it has some minor flaws.

No air conditioning when it is 28 degrees and no solution despite several complaints in 2 days I find it inadmissible considering the price of the room has more than 200 euro per night

We stayed there for two nights over the weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful. Especially "Xadim" who worked at the reception was a funny fellow.
Our three-bed room was also perfectly fine. There was a bathtub, which you don't have anywhere.
The breakfast is very rich and tasty. The location is great! Not in the center of Amsterdam, but you can get to the main station very quickly by boat, bus shuttle or the nearby metro.

In July we will be heading back to Amsterdam and it is already certain that it will be the Mercure Hotel again.

This hotel is nice. It s near a station, but if you aren t a fan of walking, the distance going back and forth could be tiresome. It s a bit out by itself so this isn t really a destination hotel. The rooms are small, but suffice. The beds are just ok, I would say standard European style. Overall, the price seemed to be right for the hotel and the location.

Nice hotel near to ring of Amsterdam. Friendly staff. Only visited this hotel for an event and had a nice Dinner. Paid parking on front of the hotel but they have their own parking space as well.

Great hotel, well located 7 minutes from downtown with very attentive staff. The bedroom and the bathroom are very spacious and very pretty. I recommend this hotel to you!

Every time I return here I receive a warm welcome and a fresh room with a welcome gift awaits me. At breakfast you are served like a king and there is plenty of choice. "In the evening a fresh beer at the bar or a nice meal in the restaurant. Sometimes you even get a surprise such as a nice ice cream in warm weather.

Excellent stay in love at the Mercure Amsterdam City, thank you also to Ingrid, friendly hostess very very good French speaking very informative, perfect room (nespresso, free mini bar filled, hair dryer) with great bedding and a very large bathroom. Breakfast a little expensive but really worth it! However little disappointment on the last day at the restaurant where the steak of the Mercure burger was really not very good hence the score of 9/10

Staff very friendly and helpful. Managed to sort out the travels agency's mistake without costing me. Rooms clean and modern (at least mine was on 3rd floor) and great food.

Wide bedroom with its own bathdroom. Bed confortable. Welcome coffee, tea and drinks. Location on the outskirts of Amsterdam.

Fairly decadent rooms get its best time long behind. Everything was a little dingy. The location also anything but centrally located in a commercial area. Breakfast was ok.

My preferred temporary home next to the Amstel river when in Amsterdam.

The only downer was the location. Room modern and clean, bathroom ingeniously thought out and integrated into the room, huge shower, breakfast solitary great, the bar in the foyer well stocked. Unfortunately, certain "shops" were too far away. But behind the hotel was worth going for a walk on the canals!

Very clean, shop had a little of everything and wasn't overpriced like most hotels we visit. Gentleman at the front was very helpful in showing us places to visit and how to get around town. Only a short walk to the train station but they also have a service in the mornings and evenings to take you there if you so desire. It's far enough outside of downtown to be nice and quiet but close enough that you can be there in a short train ride. Iwould stay here again on my next visit.

Loved the hotel and location was good - only a few mins walk from the metro station (Overamstel). Room was great

The hotel is very nice and staff were always quite helpful. I probably wouldn't stay here on my next holiday though as it's quite some distance to the centre of the city from here and there is nothing of interest within walking distance of the hotel.

Typical 4 star hotel by accor with nice bar, cafe and easy way to get around. Breakfasts used to be better, before they put up a lot of efficiency. It would be nice if thry have smoking floor

We are always satisfied with the services of Mercure Hotel! Well, for Amsterdam I think the prices are correct but allow for an additional tax of around 20th and parking at 24th per day .. or 48th for us two days.
Metro, taxi, nearby transport is great. But after midnight, metro closed so taxi for 30e from the center to the hotel.
Room same as the photos, clean. The super large bed, a pleasure!

We got a three bed room, not very nice, and my lady and I both woke up with bites all over our arms! And she had them all over her legs! , Must be bed bugs!!
Lobby was nice and bar was a little over priced for Amsterdam...

In general when we book we settle the bill at the end of the stay but with them we paid in advance the room moderately clean the staff does not make too much effort to speak French alone the lady of breakfast was very friendly and very nice

I stayed here 3 times, is a very nice hotel, helpful staff, delicious breakfast. They have a small spa area with sauna and steam bath and gym. Location is not central but metro is near by and you can easily reach the city center.

you can take a boat into the city directly from the hotel.
