Always a nice place at the Melkweg. Not the nicest...
Always a nice place at the Melkweg. Not the nicest concert hall in Amsterdam, but certainly the nicest. Good range of music and always room for fun. Just go.

Always a nice place at the Melkweg. Not the nicest concert hall in Amsterdam, but certainly the nicest. Good range of music and always room for fun. Just go.
We watched the women's football World Cup there on a big screen. Very nice location. Drinking was for sale. There were tables and benches. Good atmosphere. Clean toilets. Everything looked neat and clean
Really pretty and different. The architecture was fantastic of the actual building. Quite pricey but no worse than most touristy places. Staff were fast but I feel like some of them could have tried a bit harder in terms of customer service. I know it must get busy, and there was a festival on but there was some seriously lack of attention by bar staff.
Nice layout although I saw two people drop glass bottles from the balcony, dangerous if you ask me.
One of the best concert halls in the Netherlands. They have a small concert hall and a large one. You can also eat with them and I believe they also have a cinema.
But I only visit the Milky Way to visit bands. Have already been able to visit the invited concerts.
You can find the Melkweg near the Leidseplein in Amsterdam.
Melkweg is something everyone in amsterdam has to visit, obviously there are different parties but the venue itself is like a chamber of memories and fun. The smoke lounge is also pretty nice but kinda.... Smokey.
Beers are about 2.80 and make sure you bring 2 euros cash (one coin) for a locker or else you will be waiting in a line to get you coat hung.
Hope this helped
Cash machine in operation: - points: for a visit to the concert 1 month membership and the 2, - for the safe you will not get back ... + points: toilet is free and just pins at the bar ..... good accessible...
I attended Dave Clark on Ade 2018. Great performance
Saw Anthony Jeselnik here, the room was in chairs. Man, those are cheap chairs packed way too tight next to each other. Apart from that the location is fine, nice staff at the bar. Sound was OK too.
I don t recommend going to this venue. Security is very rude and dangerous. A lady from security pushed me as she thought I was trying to skip the rest room line. I saw another guy was pushed out of the place for no reason and the security guy just kept pushing people out that had nothing to do with the situation. Don t expose yourself. The staff is not qualified for events.
Very nice place for small concerts. Do you sometimes feel that you get a private concert when you are close:) 10 years ago I visited The Ramsus there and last year I saw them there again!
Really nice venue. The parties they throw are usually quite good. Live bands they invite to play here are usually top notch too, the world's most famous acts play here. They have a nice restaurant too; Eat at Jo's. See my review for that one. And their gallery has nice little exhibitions often. Check their website to see what's going on.
Years of my favorite spot in Amsterdam. In recent years, unfortunately, I often hope that concerts will take place in Utrecht or Tilburg so that I can skip the galaxy. The room is unfortunately jammed so full that there is hardly room to dance, or to walk to the bar for a beer. Too bad, I've been here for 17 years but the fun is off.
Nice room with good programming. The hall with the coats is a bit tight, especially when both halls are in use.
Lauv was really great! With a really great support act, Jeremy Zucker!
Nice place, cool atmosphere, two floors and on Tuesdays free techno
Holland, in addition to tulips and weed, is land of music, and, to my great pleasure, the drum & bass evenings abound there, as in Melkweg for example.
I had several nights, and they were all great!
The sound is good, the staff is friendly and efficient, eclectic programming, and the must is that Cheeky Mondays evenings have elected home! (which is 5 in itself ^^,)
But as often there is a "but": if you are over 25 years old and do not like / more pogos and other fun things you do when you're teenager, or metal concert, check that the evening that interests you is +18 or not. It may avoid some nasty surprises at certain.
Enough wide choice of drinks (a little expensive, but it's everywhere in the evening / box and often the entries are cheaper than in France so we find ourselves.)
Extremely cool concert by Disconnected, Raven Age and last but not least TREMONTI
Probably the best small concert venue in Amsterdam. For years has provided an amazing lineup of shows.
Although this concert token is located in the center of Amsterdam, it totally lacks a 'warm atmosphere'. The employees (volunteers?) Are friendly but not very professional.
However, what bothers me the most is the obligation to pay 4 for a membership on top of the admission price, while the consumer prices are comparable to the regular hospitality industry!
Went to see SYSTEM venue and staff were great and the sound system they bought in was top notch would definitely go again
Really dangerous, agressive and stupid security people. Expensive place. Good venue otherwise.
It was my first time there but I think is the best ever
One of nicest venues in Amsterdam. Always good shows11
Awesome venue. Slightly complicated as you need to be a member but the faff is well worth it.
Have been here 3 times now. I always notice an annoying atmosphere at the door. Don't know why this is.
By the last time I am really done with the Melkweg.
First, the row at the door is divided into two. Who does have a membership, and who doesn't. However, while we have a membership, we are nevertheless directed by the staff in the wrong way. Once inside this turned out to be incorrect. Chaos.
Wardrobe fine. Fast help, not expensive.
The bar also great! Great prices! Exactly right. Not extremely expensive, but also not extremely cheap. Just right. Bar works quickly. Friendly people. Also handy that nowadays you can chip / pin at the bar !!
Smoking area available. All great too! Lots of space, with tables and extraction.
The room itself filled up quickly. But then also FULL! Everyone stood tight against each other, while it was a performance where you normally dance nicely. That was difficult. Was jumping more with all of them. Think that too many tickets were sold. It is a shame that commerce seems more important than the enjoyment of visitors. Because of that, the atmosphere didn't get any nicer. People urge to come forward. But others on the other hand do not want to let anyone pass by. Revived atmosphere. Seen exchanges of times. People who also pound each other to create some space for themselves. Sure you can blame the people, but I think the cause is also with the organization.
At the end of the show the artist says that he is doing a meet and greet at the Merchandising. Super awesome! Which artist does such a thing! Nice and accessible! So you buy a merchandise item. Nice to be signed right.
However, then again human nature emerges. People push for it. Anyway ... we were by car and did not have to catch a train. We had the time. Let go, and we'll come later. However, security starts shouting that everyone has to get their jacket, because the wardrobe will close and otherwise you will have bad luck and you will lose your jacket. Why does it have to be that way? I'm joking with the wardrobe, that I do understand that they also want to go home. However, he says that it does not matter to them. I don't understand my joke.
Hmmm ... bar was just open at that time. So the fuss did not quite understand either. What if you just buy a beer? Is that still possible?
Tsjah ... got coats, but you have lost your place in the queue for the Meet and Greet. Does not matter. We have the time.
It's almost our turn. 2 more people for us. Again the security, that it is ready and everyone has to go outside. Well, it really didn't seem like that. He could have carried me outside! Don't buy merchandise for nothing. And then the people who are neatly awaiting their turn are not rewarded! While it was only 0:30. So what are we talking about? So just 'deaf' for security. Once it is your turn, you notice that the artist also received this and felt the tension with the staff. Instead of a chat it is just as quick to give the last guests a signature.
Great those star allures of security! Who is the artist? Who works for whom? It seems to me that they are without a job without artists and guests. To look a little normal seems to me to be more than appropriate!
Party itself gets 5 stars from me! Artist was great! Concert great! Wardrobe also great! Just like toilets. (although there are not enough women toilets, because they went en masse with the gentlemen ...) But everything looks nice.
Sound is fine! Just like the exposure! Also nice that there are 2 balconies on both sides of the room, only it is always full there!
However for all other matters. Yet only 2 stars unfortunately.
Top sound during concerts. The only disadvantage is that you have to purchase a membership.
Shalamar in the small room. great atmosphere. nice music for and the show. Delicious danced.
been there a couple of times, one of the worst man/woman ratio I have ever seen. Not only there, the other clubs around are also that bad
One of the best clubs in town..Especially when they have events and concerts
A very nice place for rock concerts. The location in the very center of Amsterdam, which unfortunately causes parking nearby deadly expensive but the place itself is very nice. recommend
Been to Boyce Avenue concert. Was super cozy, fun, beautiful. Reception at the door also fine
Wicked Jazz Sounds. One of the best shows I ve been to. Highly recommend
Beautiful room, good service. Beautiful acoustics. Fantastic concert (Jonathan Jeremiah)
Awesome for various types of concerts and events. Check the agenda! One of the main places in the Amsterdam nightlife
Great concert hall. It is unfortunate that it is very regular that communication about the membership is insufficient, causing program delays.
My favorite venue in the city. All types of music concerts and parties in a great location. Check the agenda before visiting, often they have several events in the same day.
We had a wonderful evening but honestly, there were just too many tickets sold! No idea who decides how many people can enter a room and can have fun, but the person who determines the Galaxy has clearly overestimated that. Unfortunately!
Cheap drinks, good sound system and they have lockers to store items.
Great cover hall for an immersive gig experience. Beware of the membership fee. Worth it for a good gig. They serve jupiler.
Small stage bit you do get to be close by the people performing when I went I saw Danielle Bregoli or Bhad Bhabie or the cash me outside girl. I enjoyed a lot and I got very close by. They also have good security three guys tried to hijack the show and got caught
Super nice concerts and is centrally located. It is easy to reach by public transport
Everything arranged well. Very little space for the large amount of people.
Cozy location to watch a band. One part is that you have to buy a membership.
Again a nice concert in the Melkweg in the small room. Pleasant ambience. Always very warm.
(Monday) not many people --- if you want to rave independently to drum and bass this is your place. you won't interact with others
De Melkweg is known to oversell tickets and it shows every single time I go. Crowds are to be expected, but this is over the top. Getting your coat is about as intimate as the Red Light District, except de Melkweg takes longer! The staff is quiet and irritable and the merchandise stand location jams up the coat lines as well as the toilets.
I promise myself to never go to de Melkweg anymore, but they keep booking things I want to see. For that reason I added a star.
Great club for live music
The sound can somewhat improve
Local really very nice and spacious. I went there during ADE
The disadvantage is that you can not park next to it. Everything else was great!
Good place, access to the concert was punctual and orderly. Very complete bar of drinks.
Cool location for small to medium sized concerts. The entrance works reliably and quickly. Smoking area is too small.
Very unfriendly sniffed security.
The Municipality of Amsterdam may do something about this .....
Nice and wide sound. Not too loud, all the frequencies are present
Sturgill Simpson was epic! This venue is great!
Going tomorrow night to see Ferocious Dogs
Sweet little concert venue, feels intimate, sound is great.
Terrible noise, compulsory membership and very expensive. I will not come back.
Meh, well the place is actualmy good but when i went to a electro party, all the ambience and people were so weird and uncomfortable
Super nice place to enjoy yourself. There is always a good party filled with a lot of people. Good to reach by tram and bus, and even its only a 30 minute walk to central station
I visited De Melkweg for Brockhampton and let me tell you. It was the best concert I ve ever been to. However I was disappointed with the staff as me and a small group of people waited there since 12 A.M. and only got to go to the toilet in waves and when they finally opened the doors they had zero regard to the people that arrived first even though they said they would, they basically lied to our faces. Nonetheless I had a good time and will visit again however my advice for them is to actually listen to the fans who go there early to get a good place in the venue.
Always nice to visit a concert in the galaxy. Atmosphere is relaxed, staff is friendly, and I still think it's a plus that they do not work with coins. The lockers were new to me, but also very chill. :)
Good artists, nice location and Jupiler on tap 10/10
Been to several shows in the Melkweg. Often waiting outside for a long time in the queue (45 minutes), as a result of which the entire supporting program is sometimes missed. Sold out concerts are often too full, so that the air inside becomes oppressive and there is no more room for maneuver. In the smaller halls it is often better arranged by the reduced visitors.
The milk exposition gives a characteristic atmosphere to the cafe
Great music venue, quick to get into the gig. Drinks were reasonably priced. And the band I watched were amazing.
